Issues with Google's "Backup Transport Service" on Android 4.4

Hey all.. I've been through a day's worth of attempted troubleshooting but I haven't had any luck. In the "Backup & settings" menu, under "Backup account," it's saying "No account is currently storing backed up data." Here's a screenshot:

Long story short, it doesn't seem as though Android is detecting the Google Backup Transport. The PA GApps package contains the GoogleBackupTransport.apk file, but I've also tried one from the Nexus 5 factory image (though I believe they're the same file).
In ADB, I ran the following command:

It returned the following:

On a functional installation (My Galaxy Tab 8.9 running CyanogenMod 10.2 -- Android 4.3), it returns the following:

As you can see, Google's transport doesn't seem to be showing up as expected on Android 4.4 (CyanogenMod 11) with the PA GApps package. Watching logcat, I see that BackupManagerService finds 1 transport (.LocalTransport) on boot, so it's as though Google's is not even being detected.
My current setup is fitsnugly's nightly of CyanogenMod 11 and the latest PA 4.4 GApps (full, 2013-11-19). I've also tried with other GApps packages and other CM11 / AOSP builds with no success. I've tried both clean flashing and dirty flashing as well. Has anybody had any success with Google Backup / Restore while using a third party GApps package on CM11 (or any 4.4 ROM)? Alternatively, I'd appreciate any pointers related to where else to look or how to troubleshoot this, as I am not too familiar with this aspect of Android. I'm curious as to whether this is an issue with CyanogenMod 11, the PA GApps package, or [my] user error.

The service is eather omitted ( not likely imo) or just not sett during the build. If not misstaken the service was active in CM11 20131117 build.

I am at Motorola Razr. I have CM11 build and SlimKat based on CM11.
CM11 has a problem "no account" but SlimKat works ok!
I have only 2 zips with binaries and compare them. I could not find how to fix in CM11:

I checked: GAPPS is not a reason.
Same gapps on CM11 does not help, and other gapps at SlimKat does not brake it.

I asked @temasek.
he is one of developers for 4.4.
He said the problem in rom sources.

Well, a solution for CM11 (temasek's upstream) would be nice.
A flashable one, of course.

Unofficial LineageOS ROM for Nexus 10 (manta)
This ROM is built from official sources of LineageOS. I just compiled the ROM, no development on my side!
Since there is no LineageOS for the Nexus 10 yet, I decided to share my builds until there are official builds.
I'm planning to update it on a monthly basis.
Built from LineageOS github repo.
How to install:
Enter recovery mode
Factory reset
Flash below ROM
Optionally flash Gapps
Optionally flash Magisk
Reboot
Enjoy
Root is not included in LineageOS by default.
The easiest way is to root via Magisk

Flashing worked fine for me, quick testing shows no issues exept one: Root access is limited to ADB. Apps didnt show up in menu selection.

Root is not included in lineage. To enable root you have to flash SuperSU or the superuser add-on from the lineageOS download page. But I will add this information to install instructions.

Also testing your build now!
Anybody knows If there will be LOS nightlys for the manta or will it stay unofficial?

Can't get past the Google services page. The down arrow doesn't do anything. Also can't setup device from another device? Is this normal?

Google services crashing
Hi all,
I couldn't find a thread for the official LOS 13 nightlies, so first of all why don't we have a thread for official LOS 13?
I'm using the nightlies with gapps micro and root. All is working fine, except when doing an update the google services keep crashing and device becomes unusable.
To sum it up, I have always to reflash gapps and root after updating. Can this be fixed? What is causing google services to crash and why do I need to reflash all with every new nightly? It's not needed on other devices when updating to a new LOS nightly.

Opengapps nano from the official opengapps website works well.

I have been able to update from lineage os pie without any issues.
- all apps and data retained as it is (had to setup fingerprint lock again)
- flashing magisk will cause boot failure
- missing face unlock in smart lock settings. Worked in lineage os. (this is probably because opengapps is in beta)

Face unlock is deprecated in Android 10.
Magisk is well..... Magisk, make sure you got a newer version of magisk. Older version may make device unbootable.

Magisk beta works fine. Default settings for Cpu/hotplug seems odd though. Hotplug core setting are out of range and cpu frequency seems bit high.

Audio in call is ok?

I installed it without error. I think all android 10 roms have low sound problem. because it doesn't use the main speaker. Best pie rom right now

My report after 2 days of daily use :
No battery issue for me. But I use Greenify, so might be it.
No volume issue neither. Calls are clean, speakerphone too. Like it was on your pie ROMs
2 bugs, I've encountered so far : screen recording isn't working. At all. With any app.
And the ROM seems incompatible with moro kernel, as My sim card got undetected every time I flash this kernel.

Hey! Excellent work on the rom, installs very smoothly and I'm enjoying the features so far.
But I was wondering if there's a way to get signature spoofing working? I believe CrDroid used to support it, but MicroG complains it is not active. Doesn't seem to be an obvious option in settings.

Google camera notifications for processing hdr are stuck after capturing photo. Also capturing photosphere application hangs during processing.
Both used to work fine in pie roms.

Could someone tell me how to get logs from Android ?
I used "logcat" in a terminal and I can read the logs but only from the moment I typed the comand in (can't have a look at what happened before) and I don't know how to save them to export them here.

I have the zuk z2 plus with lineageOS 11 and it doesn't install either....Will it be a magisk update thing for Android 11?

Yeah, and don't forget to flash Magisk with TWRP 3.2.3-1 only. Newest version cause bootloop of system after flashing TWRP, and Fox Recovery too.

If you don't want install Google APPS, there is somes good alternatives now, it's possible to install "Aurora Store" wich is an open source alternative of the playstore, it could work with or without google account and install apps, bypass restriction, bypass phone models, and bypass country.
It's possible to install Aurora service as Magisk Module too, for a full integration like the Playstore when you install any app.

Tried with Arrow OS...
So far sooo good...!! Looks smooth, with a decent battery life, working FP etc.... Overall ROM usability looked good...
As far as I noticed, it has hotspot bug. Also, some small app force stops for display>style/wallpaper section. Once fixed, this ROM could be the best for usage.

One more issue is after we install the GAPPS package above basic, on-going call view is hidden/not displayed. Hence we cannot disconnect the call. Seems it happens due to the stock dialer being replaced from the GAPPS package. Any idea how to fix this?

Love this ROM so far!
My only issue is the constant notification LED blinking for no reason.
Is there a way to completely disable the notification LED? Also disabled during charging?

Hope Everyone js good I am having a Problem I do not recieve calls The phone just rings Do not show the caller id or recieve or decline buttons and also whatsapp having issue its not open when i click the icon it only opens when i press the notification of whatsapp . @道不尽修无涯, Installed this rom today and am very happy with it. There are a few features that I'm missing. Monet system is not really smooth yet. I wish you add the feature when the screen is locked and always on display is enabled or ambient display to shot off the possibility to pull down for the quick settings. It's very annoying when that happens. So when the screen is locked you can't pull down the quick settings, like in crDroid 11, that was really great. Anyway very thankful for this build. Keep on the great work!

Hi folks, I noticed that after a few minutes the colors on the screen get a bit gray (washed out). So from colorful to dull. With the pixel experience rom, the colors remain consistently colorful. Did you notice that too? Can the dev fix this?

Flashed crDroid 8.2 via latest OrangeFox stable with latest NikGapps Core and latest Magisk stable.
Running smooth with latest NoGravityKernel.
Only issue I noticed it's impossible to establish a VPN connection over IPsec protocol.

AudioFX isn't working? Weather service is also not implemented?

Fresh install, refuses to boot. Stuck at the mi8 logo and doesn't even boot into the LineageOS logo anymore. Not sure what happened.

First time rooting my phone ,Stable ROM. Pretty smooth experience but is the face unlock gone? I checked the settings and it doesn't seems to be available at this moment

Can someone see if this app is available on this ROM? (Meaning just to go to the play store page and see if is available for purchase)
I want to go to a custom ROM but e.g. PE doesn't support this app, it says my device is incompatible with it, so I wanna be sure.

Does this ROM support OTA updates?
