Files on Samsung s20 + 5G Android 11 - Samsung Galaxy S20 / S20+ / S20 Ultra Questions &

I don't see any files on my phone's internal storage maps. Also problems transferring files between my computer Windows 10 and my phone. If I transfer the maps from my computer to my phone it transfers very slow and stops often before all files were transferred. Never had this problems before.
Somebody any idea?

I have the same problem. Some files are not saved, others only parts are saved. I write them down one by one.

[Q] MPT Transfer issue

For some reason, MPT suck for me becasue it wont always transfer files between phone and PC.
For example, i select all images i want on my PC and copy them just to see that they aren't all copied. Same goes for APK.
Windows Explorer also can't see some of the thumbnails on camera folder and reports them corrupt but they look and open just fine on phone.
Anyone else has these issues and possible solution?
I don't accept managing media files via adb comments or anything similar.
THanks
does MTP transfer any files at all? or will it only transfer some?
MTP can be finicky sometimes....issues i've had before preventing me from transferring properly include a slightly dirty microUSB port on the phone, where wiggling the connection loses the MTP connection while transferring; drivers not installed correctly; sometimes just rebooting both phone and PC does the trick.
If it fails while transferring a large batch of files, try moving them in small groups, like 20 at a time and see if they all make it then.
PC or MAC? (or linux?)
yeah, it transfers the files but not all of them from one directory for some reason. Sometimes ot didn't trasnfered batches of 2-3 files at the same time which is insane.
Then about an hour ago i reead on some forum that guy recommends backing up files with ADB and deleting problematic directory and than copying files back to it.
I just did that and it works as it supposed to.
Transfers all filess to/from device.
What a strange issue.

I can confirm this issue. I have it from time to time as well and it seems rebooting my phone does the trick. Sometimes, I just cannot send my titaniumbackup folder from my pc to the phone, where I would get an error saying it cannot be sent or it hasn't been sent.
I'd like to know what's causing this. Is mtp not reliable?

MTP on the Galaxy Nexus/ICS is controlled by the MediaStore, and this can cause trouble.
General fix for this should be similar to what I outlined here.
Thanks for the tip man, i formatted my internal storage and recreated all folders again and it works as intended now.
I did this before you posted this solution.
I'll try it if i ever get this issue again (hopefully not)

Sdcard content gone?! Help!

Hi,
This is totally weird! And it happened with my iPhone as well some time ago.
I connected my phone to PC
Galaxy nexus appeared in My Computer (Windows 8)
I did some file operations (deleted some files in Nexus, copied some photos)
And then PC said that Windows can't access files in Nexus
I disconnected and phone file manager see only an empty sd card
Settings show 8GB or more of free space
After reboot of the phone - no changes. Still not a single file left on my sdcard
I lost my photos but all of the are synced with G+. No problem with that I hope. And I'm now making a nandoid and will make a tibackup after that to save my settings, app/game progress and SMS/MMS.
But why this is happening?
Any ways to recover?

[Q] PC not recognizing video files?

I've used my Galaxy S3 for a year now, and had no issues connecting via USB. I had issues last night where it wasn't recognizing it and had to reinstall/reboot a few times until it fixed. I'm on 4.3 also.
Now I can browse the phone but it's not showing any video files in the DCIM folder or anywhere even if I move them. What gives?
Do they appear in the Windows Explorer ?
Move the files to your External SD card and then give it a try.

Not all files showing up in windows file explorer.

I am using windows 8.1 (tried on 2 different systems with same OS) and viperone rom 2.5.0 on my HTC one M8. (this is a problem i always had even on the stock rom, I thought that a custom rom might fix it but i was wrong).
When i connect my phone to my computer, it gets detected instantly.
It finds the internal sd card but also the external sd card.
HOWEVER, when i go to the internal sd card (So the memory the phone has by default) There is no Android folder. (you know, the one with the .com-facebook blabla files in it)
When i open a file explorer on my phone I can perfectly see all the files and folders on my Internal SD card. But when I use the pc to find these files, allot of them don't show up. Even some files in the ROOT of the sd card are not showing up, and these are simple .png and .log files. AS IF WINDOWS 8.1 DOES NOT DOESN'T RECOGNIZE THE FILES, and therefor decides to just not show them.
- YES i have turned on Show hidden files and folders -
Oh yeah, sometimes these folders do randomly pop up in there on the pc but then the are gone just as fast as they appeared. Also transfering files is very, very slow and gets interupted from time to time because windows "Cannot connect to device" or "Lost connection to device".
I keep wondering, why can't it be easy like an simple usb stick/drive. Those things are just plug 'n play. I recon that android should have this same option but it keeps disappointing me
I remember the good GingerBread days where you pressed the button on your phone CONNECT STORAGE TO PC. And it worked every single time, without delay or other crap. Just like CWM with its USB Storage function.
Look for a folder named "storage", in there you find the folder "emulated" and in there is the folder "0" open it and you'll see all the folders you have on your phone

Data transfer problems

I keep experiencing problems when transferring files to the Pixel 2 XL. The problem first starts with Android File Transfer. Many files transfer fine, but they just stop after a while. "Can't access device storage". No files are over 3 GB, and problem doesn't always happen with the same files. I have to power down both the phone and computer for data transfer to start working again. But sometimes restarting doesn't fix the issue.
I have contacted Google Support many times. They have me go through the usual steps: try a different cable, try a different computer, reboot everything. Safe mode. USB debugging.
I usually have to reset the phone completely and start over. And I discovered that if I do not remove my gmail account before resetting, data transfer will remain broken--it won't even copy data over from my old phone during setup.
But this does not happen with my Pixel XL. The same files, same cables, same computer. Both phones are running the latest version of Android Oreo with all updates.
I haven't had any problems transferring files from my Nexus 6 to my Pixel 2 XL. Entire process (file transfer and app install) lasted a little over three hours. After about 2 hours I needed to do something and disconnected the cable. Five minutes later I reconnected and within seconds the transfer resumed. Used the cable from the Nexus power adapter.
Data initially transfers between phones without problems. The problems start when using Android File Transfer, which Google recommends. But once AFT stops working, data can no longer transfer between devices either. Only a factory reset works after removing my Google account from the phone. If I don't remove the account first, data still will not transfer after factory reset.
Possible Solution - File Names Too Long
I think I might've had a similar problem - I'd try and drop all of my music folders from Windows into the music folder on the Pixel XL. I understand this isn't exactly what you've run into, but it could help you and will definitely help someone else. So, after a while, the transfer would stop and I wouldn't be given any kind of feedback as to why. If I were to try the transfer again, the same files would transfer and it'd stop in the same place. The problem, I realised, was that the filenames of the files that couldn't transfer were too long - as far as I know this has nothing to do with metadata, so you can leave the song names the same, just change the filename.
I hope this helps anyone with the same issue.
