Good morning, I'm looking for help on the rom issue ,,, I have the sm g986u and I want to update it to android 11 and they tell me to install the sm g986u1 rom that nothing will happen to the device ,, Is that true? I want a clean rom, without mobile phone operators .... I really appreciate your knowledge.

Kindly accept my apology in advance if my question sounds stupid. I have Samsung galaxy Note II (N7105) with andriod jellybeans 4.3 (official) . I tried to install custom rom (DN3) but wasn't sucessfull. As there is no rom installed in my cell phone now, it is only showing the startup screen of note 2. Now I want to install back my original rom but dont know how to install again. I tried to download the firmware from the sammobile but i dont know the baseband version of my cell phone. I only knows its model number (i mentioned above) and this cell phone is manufactured in Vietnam and I purchased this phone in New Zealand. Kindly help me out. waiting for your prompt and positive reply.

So I bought an used S9 plus Duos, inside its G965F...software info, build number its also G965F,, outside on the back G965F made in Vietnam,,, i discovered that's there is root and its on February security patch i tried to unroot it using Odin,,,the where i discovered its G965N!!!! Tried to continue by downloading official g965N firmware (pie 9) ... when the device restarted after using odin the phone working or showing just one sim even it was working just fine and even I used pie firmware its went back to oreo!!!
Plz ... Biiiig plz I need advices and solutions,,, I want to clean the root, I want to get updates ... and I want to get both of sim 1 and sim 2 work

Are you trying to flash 5g firmware in a normal 10 plus? If so I believe you will mess your phone up.
You will soft brick your phone...
May as well flash ios on it and expect it to run...
The model numbers matter and to a certain degree so do regions though if you use the OXM rom it will allow you to upgrade as it is a multi CSC rom. The model has to match however, yours is an N9750 so you CAN'T flash an N9760 rom or it will either bootloop or just not boot.
This may be recoverable by flashing the correct firmware on your phone but why risk it in the first place now you know IT WON'T WORK.

HI all, tried to find an answer for my question but no joy just got my SM-G981B/DS from 02-UK since yesterday, so far so good but thinking to install stock rom ( if possible ) but cant find a stock rom for SM-G981B/DS but only for SM-981B ? does it matter ? i mean dont really want to lost the Dual Sim function .. also " de-branding " with Odin as usual? heard that the S20 is harder to " de-brand " ...

The /DS part doesn't matter when flashing firmware. You can go ahead and use the SM-G981B firmware without worrying of losing the dual-SIM capability.
oh ok, cool and now the other part which is really confusing for me, all previous ( last one was Galaxy S9 ) ive just de-branded with Odin, no special tasks just downloaded UK BTU Firmware and flashed it on UK O2 firmware.. on the s20 5g is the same procedure? read some CSC changing 1st then flash, or samkey ... really got lost ..
