Can you boot into the system if you don't go into recovery right after flashing from twrp?

No i can't, it simply won't boot
there is a bit in twrp's website : https://twrp.me/xiaomi/xiaomiredminote8pro.html
this vbmeta.img took me some time to find. i downloaded the rom i wanted (pixel exp and evolution x) and the vbmeta.img was in there. so once you copy out this vbmeta.img, try flashing it though the cmd, this got me out of the bootloop
fastboot --disable-verity --disable-verification flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
If you're still looking I was having the same issue. Lineage recovery and orange fox recovery both worked fine for me

Tried to install 11/16 version of Project Nexus and vendor image via flashify but forgot that I needed to update TWRP to the latest version first to fix that it was asking me for an encryption password that I had never set.
Now i'm stuck in the bootloader. If I try to go to recovery, the TWRP splash screen displays but never loads further.
I attempted to use ADB to re-install but i get error: device '(null)' not found. I've tried several different drivers but can't get any to work.
Any ideas?

I renamed the recovery file for ease of use (as you can see in the screenshot). It appeared to work but now the TWRP splash screen doesn't show after reboot when I select recovery.

EXACT same situation. For me windows 10, won't recognize bootloader. Nexus 7 2012, it had 3.0.0 0, was trying to upgrade to 3.0.2.0, stupidly used FlashFire since bootloader not seen in Windows. Now can't boot into Recovery.
Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Win10 didn't work for me, too. On Ubuntu it was easy (or older Windows)
1st for repairing go back to firmware.
Hello guys,
I think I ****ed up. My recovery mode isn't working anymore, after I tried to install an update while TWRP was installed. I tried to flash it with TWRP and also with the stock recovery image. It doesn't help, the screen stays black after I try to boot into recovery mode. I flashed the recovery partition about a hundred times by now. It's still not working. The stock system (Oxygen 3.5.2) and fastboot is working, but in order to update Oxygen, I apparently need a working recovery mode.
I don't care about the data on the phone - I just want a working recovery mode . Can you guys help?
Regards
Which TWRP did you use? Why are you even on 3.5.2 that's some sold stuff.

I think it was TWRP 3.0.2.1. To be honest: I can't tell you how I ended up with 3.5.2, because I did a lot of weird stuff yesterday to fix the problem...
You need modified TWRP
Try this:
Fastboot erase recovery
Fastboot flash recovery modified-recovery.img

Hey Guys,
somehow, I seem to be too dumb to install TWRP to my new dumpling. I did the following:
- run the official updates (9.0.3 Pie)
- unlock the bootloader using adb
- successfully flash the latest TWRP recovery (twrp-3.2.3-1 dumpling from their HP)
So far, no problems at all. Then I booted directly into recovery, so it won't be overwritten again: I tried unplug + Power/Volume Down, command "fastboot reboot recovery" and selecting recovery from the menu. But everytime I end up with the beautiful stock recovery, I never even saw the TWRP interface.
Any suggestions ? Any help would be much appreciated!!
My only idea: The latest TWRP is from 08/2018, maybe its not compatible to Pie ?!

hi dude, to stay on TWRP you have to flash MAGISK, if not TWRP will always be overwritten by the StockRecovery!!
flash TWRP
reboot into TWRP
flash Magisk within TWRP
reboot system
happy flashing!

hi dude, sorry - now i got you
# after flashed TWRP unplug your device and reboot directly into the bootloader-mode (‘Volume Up’ + ‘Power’ button altogether) and navigate to 'Recovery' or
# fastboot boot 'recovery.img'
i recommend flashing twrp-3.2.3-x_blu_spark_v9.91_treble-op5_op5t.img : https://github.com/engstk/android_device_oneplus_cheeseburger/releases
SOLVED
I tried the 9.x recovery from this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5t/development/recovery-twrp-3-2-1-0-oreo-8-0-8-1-t3729673
works like a charm!
I thougth, the official TWRP site would be the best source, but well... lesson learnt. Anyway, thanks for trying to help, nicorvienne

try to flash an older version of twrp through "ADB minimal fast boot".
I use Twrp and am not using Magisk or rooted.
I had Orangefox recovery installed on my Redmi note 5 Pro with Android 8.1,
After the release of Orangefox recovery for PIE,
I flashed the zip of Orangefox recovery,
& Waited to boot into Recovery, but it is not booting into recovery,
Only the logo is showing whenever I try to boot into Recovery
I've tried to install the recovery also through Adb commands, then also it is not booting into Recovery
Is it means I will unable to use recovery on my phone ever, because there is no any solution for this issue on internet.
Please help me guys.

Yes you can, miflash work in fastboot mode not in recovery, it will also restore your recovery to stock.

That's not how you install TWRP on this phone.
If you can get to fastboot, you can recover. Flash partitions or get a whole stock ROM. Or use miflash.
If you can't get to fastboot your phone needs EDL with pins.
