I upgraded my phone (chiron) from official LineageOS 16 to official LineageOS/17.1 (2002-01-07 version)
I sideloaded everything and it worked...
Until I installed Magisk zip file (via TWRP recovery).
Then everything just blew up, I stuck with fastboot page and couldn't get anywhere.
The version I tried was 20.1
I am aware that there is a version (21.2) available. Has anyone tried this version before?
If any of you managed to get magisk to work on official 17.1, which magisk version are you using?
Thanks in advance
Harv

When I've succesfully installed twrp 3.2.1 or 3.1.1, the phone stuck in boot logo while recovery mode loading and than reboot again. But when I've installed twrp 3.0.2 there is no problem on entering twrp menu. Version 3.2.1 and 3.1.1 does not compatible with Z551ML?
I'm using Android 5 (Lolipop) by the way...
Found the problem. 3.1.1 and upper versions works with only android 6 bootloader. I've another question than... Is there any way to retun original recovery mode from TWRP?
I've upgraded my phone to android 6 and than flash twrp 3.2.1 again but I got same result.

It is available on Twrp's official website, and I have it on my z551ml. It is works fine with lineage 14.1.
Hi,
After making a clean flash of the latest official global 8.7.26, I tried to flash magisk (it worked on my previous installation, 8.7.12), but I get a bootloop everytime.
Any ideas on how to fix that ?
Cheers
Edit: solved, see my solution 5 posts below.
i have 8.7.26 and magisk 16.7 everything ok

So you flashed the rom, and then flashed magisk zip, and it worked ?
I wonder why it's not working for me
Edit: tried flashing uninstaller twice, then flashing magisk again, no success. Tried with lazy flasher, nothing. Same with 16.0 and 16.7
installed the Room, Reboot,installed magisk
Rip me then. Any other things I could try ?
All right I solved it, here's what I did:
- Go to settings -> About phone -> System update -> menu (3 dots) -> Download update
- Your phone will download something. (I was on the latest version available already, so my guess is it re-downloads the update package for the current version )
- Install the update (it did it in TWRP). The phone should reboot automatically.
- Boot back into TWRP, you can now flash magisk and boot without problems.
You can try Magisk 16.4. It works for me, but Xposed is still not working. Any Idea?
[HELP] Get stuck in bootanimation &then only boot to TWRP after upgrade Magisk & TWRP
I have sucessfully rooted my phone but yesterday when i upgraded Magisk from 16.4 to 17.1 and then flashed lasted TWRP, my phone some how corrupted .
After that I tried to flash Factory Image and boot TWRP portable -> Flash ElementalX 2.05 -> Magisk 17.1 -> VerifiedBootSigner-v8 -> Reboot but my phone get stuck in bootanimation about 5 min and then reboot to recovery. Then it will always boot back to recovery when I reboot.
I have searched here but couldn't find any solution.
I tried to flash ElementalX and TWRP only and my phone booting normally. But anytime I flash Magisk it can't.
Please help me, I don't know what to do next, Thank you and sorry for my bad English. :crying:
I had the same issue as well. I think is is due to the latest TWRP update. I was running Magisk 17.1 with no issues, but once I tried installing the latest TWRP build, I was unable to boot. I even tried connecting to my computer and trying to boot using the boot.img from android. I am currently running the official release of android P. I ended up just doing basically a dirty flash of P over what was already installed to reset the bootloader, radio, etc. I'm going to just end up running the previous version of TWRP until the dev releases something that is confirmed to be stable.

Global Hardware and Xiaomi.eu ROM.
When hiding Magisk Manager in Settings and Reboot Jailbreak Detection of Apps seems bypassed. (tested on Paypal)
Hi
Maybe a noob question, but I'm new to Xiaomi and I can't find a proper response for the Mi Mix 3
If I want to Disable Dm-Verity and ForceEncryption, I found Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_02.04.2019
Also I download the new Magisk 18.2 that I found for the Mi Mix 3
I already unlocked the bootloader
I installed TWRP, Wiped (System, data, everything) then Flashed the newest rom with XiaoMIFlash, before it rebooted I reboot to fastboot, Installed TWRP, copied the files, installed first Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_02.04.2019, then Magisk, then I reboot to system, it starts the phone from the initial setup, after I setup everything I checked and no magisk was installed, and in Security Encryption is still enabled, I reboot again to recovery and again it asks for the decryption password, tried to install magisk still no luck after reboot
If I try to only install Magisk 18.2 it works, but how I can disable Force Encrypt
plz help
I have the Mi Mix 3 Global version with the lastest ROM
Anyone tried Chinese hardware with global rom?
Try the Canary builds, the even work with banking apps that usually do not work with root.
They can be unstable but worked with every Rom so far for me
If you install the latest EU stable ROM (10.3.1) you can simply update Magisk Manager and Magisk itself to the latest version (7.3.2 and 19.3) without any problems and it works like a charm
I have installed the latest MIUI EEA version (11.0.3.0 QGGEUXM) and, naturally, lost root and the recovery. Subsequently, I tried to install OrangeFox Recovery (Android 10 version) but this recovery was replaced by MIUI on boot. I also tried to install latest unofficial TWRP but now the phone failed to boot.
I also tried to install OrangeFox Recovery and, thereafter, Magisk. But once I had installed Magisk 20.4 the phone failed to boot.
Did anyone have success with the latest MIUI EEA ROM and, if yes, how did you root the phone?
Thank you.
(I edited the post once I discovered that there is not only the official EEA = EU ROM but also a modded xiaomi.eu ROM. I am talking about the official ROM for the EU/EEA.)
I now managed to install a presistent TWRP recovery. I used 1210 from wzsx150.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/re...overy-twrp-recovery-redmi-note-8-pro-t4033695
I also applied "Disable Replace TWRP" in advanced settings = modification of AVB2.0 stock boot. EDIT: This was indeed necessary.
Another hint: The recovery frequently fails to decrypt the phone. Solution: type very slowly. Hit backspace and delete the last two entries and retype if there is a hiccup and one of your "keystrokes" is not recognized.
Magisk patched boot.img worked for me.
Magisk 20.4
