Juddery ? I'm assuming you mean jittery or stuttering.

i had some lag with 720P and had to reboot the phone it worked good fore a few mins then did it again. i havent tried 1080p but i assume it would do the same since its even more higher def.
ZERO stuttering or pausing on the current CyanogenMod 10.1 build. Just tested it with YouTube.
Can not comment on stock software as I never tried it.
My AFTV2 will not playback video from any source without the playback pausing/stopping for about 1-2 seconds all through the movie. No matter what the source whether streaming from my NAS or streaming from an app, any app. I play the same video back on my AFTV1 and it plays fine. I can't even play 720 video back clean let alone 1080p. I am rooted on 5.0.4 I was thinking of unrooting and going back to 5.0.3 but I would rather not have to do that. Anyone else having issues with video playback on AFTV2? or can anyone suggest what I can try to correct it. I have already tried playing back video using MX Player and VLC. I thought VLC might work because its the one from Amazon Play Store but the result is the same. It's really driving me crazy because it happens all the time. The reason I got the AFTV2 was because I thought I would get cleaner playback of video based on the new hardware, but my AFTV1 which is also rooted blows it out of the water. The Fire TV 2 is connected to a powerline adapter, but I tested it connected directly to my router and the result was the same. Even on the powerline adapter my speed test is about 19-24 mbps which should be fast enough to playback video smoothly. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

So.....no one else has problems with video playback on the AFTV2? If not then maybe it's my particular box that has a problem...

I just stream using Kodi & some addon sources you will get buffering problems but to be honest it's fine when you get a nice stream.

thanks for the reply. Yes I use Kodi as well, and you're right you have to have a good stream first. But even when I stream movies from my NAS in Kodi, or select a stream from an addon that's say MQ it still stutters throughout the movie. When I play the same movie, same stream, from my AFTV1 it plays perfectly fine. I know I have a fast enough internet connection. It just seems strange to me that the AFTV2 with the more powerful hardware can't come close to the AFTV1 when it comes to video playback. Even Netflix stutters.
Slapped in my Sd card in from my drone and the note 7 can't play the dam thing 1080p mov. Video without stuttering. Tried several different mov players with hardware , an full decoding acceleration, all no good.. She even gets a bit warm.. Anyone tried?
Snapdragon?
Yes on the snapdragon version
No problem here
Sent from my SM-N930F using XDA-Developers mobile app
when i was video testing unless I was messing with the setting and screen orientation or dual app most my video play fine. Have you test the same video with the phone storage as I might suspect the speed of the card on the Drone
What Mov player are you guys using ?
Thanks downloaded the file to my phone and it played fine. Weird though because I can directly play it off the sd car on my laptop with no problems . Thanks
Well on a laptop it have different ways to read the card and software that will load the clip in temp or buffer it before playing.
Also I used VLC if that still matter
I have been facing some weird problem when playing NBA live mobile.
I think it is FPS issues.
To give a more clear example, its like playing triple A games on an computer without graphics.
Tried fnatic mode as well but still the same.
The game doesnt have reduce video quality options and TBH i can play it on my old huawei entry phone quite well.
Whenever whenever I am playing any full screen video on any of apps like YouTube, Netflix ,Amazon prime or Disney+ hotstar the app gets minimised randomly and goes int picture in picture mode (for apps that allow it) , its even more wierd for Amazon prime because the audio from the video keeps playing but the video is gone
Can anyone help with this?
