Hello,
since the update to Android 11 on my S20 (SM-G980F/DS) the notification sounds are randomly silent.
This means sometimes (i would say in three cases out of ten) the logo of the app (problem with multiple apps) just appears on the Always On Screen. No Animation, no sound, no vibration. I could not identify any pattern or make it reproducable. Of course I tried several reboots, updated to newest version and double checked silent / do not disturb modes.
I've got the problem since the first day of the update, so around one week...
I'm thankful for any advice!

Hi all,
Over the last few days, very now and again, my M8 notifications can't be heard. When I check the notification volumes, they are all set to maximum, and my sound profile is still set to normal, but when I receive a text, or an alarm goes off, the phone just vibrates. I have to restart the phone to correct it, but at a random time, it'll go back to no-volume notifications. This might have all started after the recent OTA firmware update.
Can anyone help?
P.S. - Phone is not rooted.
Did you install any software since you notice the problem? It's probably an app that is causing this....easier way to find out is to clean flash your Rom and test. If everything is ok starts installing your apps.
Hi,
I've been having problems with the vibration on my white LG G3. The phone is less than a week old and I updated to the new firmware almost immediately after setting the phone up. I've only noticed this problem during the last couple of days though. Initially noticed it when swiftkey wouldn't vibrate on keypresses (my vibration duration setting for swiftkey is 60). But then i noticed that vibration on all events seem to have been stopped. Calls and texts don't produce a vibration as well. I checked my settings and vibration is definitely enabled and the vibration strength setting is full, so I'm not sure what the issue is. I'm running stock unrooted. Hopefully some one can help me figure out what the issue is.
Thanks.
Mine did that too, I just turned the phone on and off and it started working again.
Wow!! Just restated my phone and vibration is back for me too... Thanks happilyaccosted! I can't believe I haven't restarted my phone in a few days

I've been having that problem since I've bought it.
The phone has been rebooted several times. Doesn't work.
I don't even know if it simply doesn't vibrate, or if it's just too weak.
There's a lot of others complaining about the same.
Folks,
HTC One M8
Version: 4.4.4
Sense: 6.0
Kernel 3.4.0
I have been searching for the last week or so on what this sound is, the best I can describe is a cross between a 'ding' and a 'bong'. It has been happening randomly, sometimes a couple times an hour, sometimes not for several hours. I have disabled the sound for refreshing feeds and disabled NFC completely ( these were two things I had read that may be causing random notifications) but the sounds have not stopped. I checked all of the sounds in the android notification sounds and none of them match up with this sound. This morning I docked my phone to my computer and it dinged about 3 times within 5 minutes. The sounds can happen with the screen on or off, with it locked or unlocked. With the screen on, there are no notifications or flashing icons showing any task or process.
I am at a loss here. Does anyone know what is going on?
*UPDATE*
The culprit has been found... MyMobiler has a bug where it will randomly give the connecting sound where there is nothing being connected.... Disabling this feature has fixed the problem!!
Hi, i updated my phone to OOS 4.0 with clean install 1 month ago.
since then i have several annoying bugs :
- Bluetooth issue : my phone doesn't detect my headphone Plantronics Backbeat pro. it worked perfectly before update
- widget issue : i use a widget for calendar (business calendar) for 3 years. Now this widget disappear randomly... every time i re-add it, it disappears like 2h or 2 days after.
- I don't find a way to put my phone in vibrate mode. before i just reduced volume until it's on vibrate, but now it doesn't reduce until vibrate (minimum is like 10% volume).
The only way i found is to use "do not disturb" mode, but i don't get notification anymore...
- i also have wifi issue (slow wifi, slow play store download), but i think it started before update (even though it comes from the phone and not from my internet).
Does anyone have those problems ? it's really annoying
Thanks in advance
First tip I can give to you is to update immediately to OOS 4.0.2 because this update fixes some bugs that are present on 4.0 (but I never had problems with 4.0).
1. I think this has fixed with 4.0.2
2. I think it's a problem of that app, have you contacted the developer? Do you use Nova Launcher or stock launcher?
3. For now you can't set to silent mode the phone with the volume buttons, OnePlus has changed how the buttons work and for now that problem remains (I don't like it too, but I use the slider, it's here for something right? ). You can set the phone in vibrate mode moving the slider on the upper mode and in the settings activate the vibration
4. That problem was fixed in 4.0.2 update
So update your phone as soon as you can, the update is great
thanks for your answer ! I'll update as soon as possible then and let you know.
I use stock launcher, i'll try to add other widget to see if it comes from that app or all apps.
And about the vibrate mode, that's what i did, i use the slider at top now, but i dont get notification like that... no notification from messenger, no vibration for messenger, no led signal etc etc
I'm on 4.0.2 and have the following bugs:-
-Fingerprint reader is sometimes totally unresponsive, (not even turned on,) after a full night of Doze mode. (Not set to aggressive Doze BTW.) Pressing the power button re-enables it.
-Gmail notification doesn't disappear when you go into the email you've been notified about. It only goes when you go back to the primary inbox or delete the email.
As far as I'm concerned these are minor issues. On the whole, I'm happy with One Plus and don't have any major bugs. :victory:

Good Try other widget, yes :good:
If you don't receive notification, you have to set the app to don't optimize it in the battery settings, here you have to set to don't optimize all the apps you want notification for (whatsapp, messenger, email...).
Let me know when you've updated the phone

Top mode is "silent" and you should be getting notifications in that mode. The middle one is "do not disturb", which blocks most notifications (depending on your settings).

OK i updated, first thing i can say is that the Bluetooth still doesn't work.. it doesn't even detect my headphone.
For the rest i'll see in long term utilization
I downgraded my device to OS 3.2.8 since Nougat (both official OS4 and OS4.02 and LineageOS) has broken bluetooth.
I can connect to my car audio but it barely works. And when I try to use the phone over BT it breaks and I need to reboot OP3. Also I have problems with my bluetooth speaker (JBL Charge2+). It connects to it much slower and sometimes it stops working.
I already complained to OP3, they put me to a remote session, downgraded my phone, I tested it in Marshmallow and saw that it works, then upgraded again to OS4.02 (wasnt working) and then tried LineageOS hoping that custom roms might have it working but it behaved exactly the same.
They told me to wait for next update, but I dont think they will do anything.
Try to submit a report ticket to them. More people bugs them, more chance they will try anything.
Anyway I am already looking for another device. This is second OnePLus device I used and both had software issues. Luckily CyanogenMod was working fine on OP1 back then. Now even the custom roms cant help me.
Pixel 2XL, Bought from Google UK running on EE.
For the passed week do not disturb is just not working at all on my phone, either when I turn it on manually or when my rule kicks in.
Notifications don't pop up on the screen like I have always had set up, but every single notification pings the phone. Instagram likes, Strava, WhatsApp and messages, the lot all make a noise on full volume regardless of the do not disturb.
Oddly, every notification makes the same noise while on DND, none of the app specific sounds you'd expect.
Any ideas? Partner has an identical phone and works as it should.

You have a screenshot of your Do Not Disturb settings? I know once in a while, I've had times when it clears and defaults to sounds on. I think it's usually after an update.

It's an issue that has existed since March or April update. Saw a few posts about it, myself facing the same problem. It's really trial and error now to get DnD working properly
I've had the same problem on and off for the past few months. Usually setting it manually always works for me. It's just the auto rules aren't activating. I haven't noticed any difference in the notification sounds.
