Hi,
thank you for your time / work.
i have installed your Rom. looks nice, works pretty fast so far.
the only problems i am having:
- camera there is no possible video recording and quality of pictures is really poor.
- slow charging or at least it writes like that (71% battery and too full 10 min)
- dialer, there is no option to put call to the speak or cancel the call!
to be fair, first Customer rom based on the Android 11 which recognizes the SIM cards.
having joyeuse - QJZMIXM,
Installed via Orange Fox Recovery Project.
RN9Pro Global.
and the most important.
Happy / Healthy 2021!
In how many weeks we can expect official version?
Thank you for providing this ROM! Great to see this effort and things moving on with our device. Working camera is a deal breaker for me, so I'd be happy if this could be fixed soon.
I'll be happy to donate as well once I use it on my phone to support your work (I don't donate upfront though any more as I've had a couple of time bad experience here, when doing so).

@abcdjdj Here's the log for Line's free call fc and Facebook free call disconnection..
Hey, thanks a tonne. :good:
Where can i find proper GAPPS for this Build ?
A few noticable things!
Been using this rom for a week now.Rom is smooth and good.Increasing the ram a little bit(700mb) in the next build would be awsome hopefully!!
Battery backup is good,it easily lasts for a day on standby mode and on heavy use it lasts for 4-5 hours i guess(didn't notice much on heavy use).
Now coming to bugs:
1) There is a bug in the camera app, while in video mode after pressing the video record icon, the camera freezes for 7-8 seconds and then starts
recording, but i am able to shoot videos which is a good thing.
2) After using the phone for some time(like making some calls and listening to music) after 30 to 45 min, suddenly sounds stops coming from the speaker(i mean the speaker doesn't work) so i tried to get the sound back many times by pressing vol+ button and by playing songs! But no use,the speaker starts working only until i restart the phone!(Maybe some build.prop error i guess).
3) Sim Card Added,Restart your device error on every reboot which is old bug(not a big issue for me).
4) In Carbon fibers>Device Tunables not working.
5)Some times even after setting network mode to 3g only, the network goes to 2g (E icon) but in network shows as 3g only.
6)Screen starts flickering or keeps flashing on carbon logo(not sure what it is,but a white light kinda thing keeps flashing while booting at carbon logo) and also when i ticked Disable HW Overlays,on every reboot it gets Unchecked or simply doesn't gets saved after reboot.
A Few Requests:
Bro @abcdjdj,it would be helpful if u changed the network settings location from Carbon Fibers>Interface>General>Battery Saver Mode>Normal Network Mode to Mobile Networks.Because at first it was too confusing for me to look for network settings as many of us are used to go to mobile networks to change the preferred network.
Other than these minor bugs,ua rom flies on my ION,i have no issues in playing videos and other apps.Just these are the minor problems with which i'm facing problems...and yeah Thanks for the Rom Bro @abcdjdj!!! TIA!! :fingers-crossed:
Thanks a lot buddy for this awesome rom really appreciate your work..:good::good:
I found a bug that video plays on hardware decoding first but after sometime hw decoding doesn't work and it switches to software decoding and it starts lag any help??
And what if I overclock it? Is it gonna harm the device??
Hi Dev,
I just installed this rom, i didn't know whether my phone has unlocked bootloader or not but i rooted it and installed custom recovery then installed this rom now my mobile is not powering on can you please help me to fix this problem.

Inline call recorder or invoice call recorder would be of great use. Unlike 3rd party apps inline call recorder records from phone connection NOT from loudspeaker. Please consider my request.
BTW one of the BEST kitkat ROMs I have used
I have flashed ghost kernel from 4.4 miuiv5 over the carbon ROM and the ram got bumped up to 721 from 618. Still no crashes or bugs due to ghost kernel.:good:

Hey @ben cherian, can u give me the link for the 4.4 miuiv5 ghost kernel and is the video recording lag still there or not? and for me sometimes the sound from the speaker is completely until i reboot! Do u also have this problem or bug? Is the Mobile Data Connectivity issue gone?(3g changes automatically to 2g almost everytime for me) Please Reply! :fingers-crossed:

Download the whole miui ROM and extract kernel, boot.IMG,from it and flash it over this ROM.
NO more lag when starting video recording.
No sound bug for me so far(hope you have done system, cache, data mount and format before installing this rom)
For definite 3g signals you add 2g/3g network mode in quick settings and switch to 3g only!!!

Download speeds vary. It's just how the wonderful internet is. Speedtest is connecting to one server dedicated to speed tests...AFH, on the other hand, has a lot of users and a lot of simultaneous downloads.
I encounter same issue from time to time. Just keep being patient...or try later in the day (or night). ?

We Love new ROM, we love the z1..
Many2 Thanks for your support,bro
The rom works well except for selinux being enforcing and blocking the functionality of many apps such as Magisk(crashes when checking su settings) and Adaway.
Camera is still not as good as stock...
Does this requires unlocked bootloader ?

SELinux enforcing does NOT cause your issues. Magisk works fine on my end, no crashes. I haven't tested adaway, but root apps should work without issues, even with SELinux enforcing.
No custom ROM camera will ever be as good as stock. If you would have done your research, you'd know the stock camera is as good as it is because of Sony's post processing, which you lose when you unlock your bootloader. Don't expect any custom ROM with that quality.

Bugs
CAMERA: Enabling stabilization option in camera settings under "Video camera" causes an error message and crash when attempting to record.
[*]APP: Gardenscapes connection error on all yoshino devices. Enable storage permissions for app manually.
CAMERA: Manual focus by tapping while zoomed in crashes the app.
All of these issues are present on modpunk's latest LineageOS build. I'm not a programmer, so please be patient while the issues are resolved!
Nice! Been hoping for a Carbon ROM build for the xz1c. Just flashed and looking good so far. Thanks so much!
I installed it. So far everything is working for me. Will you continue to compile new versions, especially if new patches arrive?

I shared my initial version with the intention of releasing new versions.
However, my only practical platforms for compiling my builds on are my laptop, which takes 6 hours to build everything without having compiled anything else and gives me only 20GB of free storage space after building, and Google Cloud Trial which is just a trial, and so it has a limit.
As long as I have access to a build server, new builds will be released for at least a while.
New build! No device-specific bug fixes just upstream changes and a kernel switch
Going on vacation so no builds until around mid-August. Sorry!
While you guys wait, I recommend installing AOSP Phh-Treble with a DRM fix, Magisk, and SELinux permissive patch. The included camera won't work, but Open Camera does and the quality will be as good as stock despite being AOSP.
Also runs noticeably smoother than other AOSP roms like AOSP compiled directly from sonyxperiadev, pretty ironic considering that Treble GSIs aren't tailored to device-specific level.

How did you manage that? I was on Stock rom booted into TWRP. There I did a factory reset and wiped System, Cache, dalvik and data. Then I flashed the System Image from treble project the A partition one vanille Android but it didnt boot. Am I forgetting something?
EDIT: Fixed it. You should not use a Magisk patched ramdisk before flashing or use a patched kernel. A flash after coming from a fresh stock rom worked.
weeklies.....lol....you managed to build 2 !! builds and for about 4 weeks there´s nothing new.....
very interresting that new projects die within 2 weeks *sad*

I'm sorry for not committing to this project, but shouldn't you be grateful that I built CarbonROM for lilac and shared it with you and the rest of the community?
You've needlessly pointed out twice that progress on RR for the S9 has halted. And? Developers are humans, just like you (I assume).
I suggest that if you haven't already, you should experience what it's like to build and maintain a custom ROM, before continuing to complain about inactive developers.
I'm back from vacation now, but I really don't have any reason to continue with this project, doesn't help that I would have to share my builds with people like you if I did. Google Cloud credit is running low anyways, and I don't have access to any other solutions.

Anyway, thanks for your work. Some guys here may cant read your post before about your vacation.
May be you will change your opinion about not publishing any future versions.
I think that Carbon was running quite well.
Dang that sucks. I really wanted to see more from CarbonRom.
As I expected...you ask for donations in your first post and now......no more updates
you developers always ask for donation and this is one good example why many people dont donate.

Sorry, I've never shared my builds on XDA before, and I was just trying to follow other CarbonROM members' post formats. Please note that I am not a member of the CarbonROM team, these are unofficial builds.
Good news! I now have a dedicated build machine, completely separate from my main computer.
I may post more builds soon, but flashlight, RIL, and camera are currently broken in modpunk's LineageOS I built for myself (my CarbonROM uses his device and kernel trees).
Hopefully I'll be able to revert the changes and bring a build to you guys sooner.
@SirSoviet Pls I'm not being rude or bossy I just wanna ask are we going to get new builds of this rom?
