Yes it have yellowish tint at the bottom. BTW is your bottom left corner darker or lighter that bottom right corner?
I have the yellow tint also. (Reducing blue light in the custom colour scheme setting helps even it out). Be aware this screen is very fragile. I dropped the phone 2 ft in a case at it got a pressure point. After I used it with no screen protector for one day and it got a deep rainbow bad scratch after handling it carefully.

I tried but I do not have a camera good enough for it to show.
It looks similar to this pressure spot on the IP6, but my spot is not so bad.

Yeah, navigation bar is darker on one side and lighter on another. Not a big issue but it's noticeable. Also when I put dark mode it can't be seen at all and everything is fine.
My screen is perfect so if you think yours isn't you really should return it.

Don't know about others here but I won't return mine since I know there are better and worse displays and I don't want to play panel lottery and get some even worse. I can live with this little issue and with dark mode it's not noticeable at all.
Yes changed mine as i put in my pocket, its cant really take much pressure on the screen for this mi 10t screen.

What happened when you put your Mi 10T Pro in your pocket, I don't understand? Can you explain a little bit?
I usually dont bring a bag out which I will just leave it on my front pocket, on one trip when I sit down having my dinner.. I took out for a view and suddenly the screen changed it colour spot on the phone, when I went to press on those spots alittle harder which I thought my protector screen was getting air bubble on it but end up the screen was having those yellowish rainbow spots which is annoying.
So in the end went for a 1 to 1 exchange as I only used for a few days, the screen indeed cant really bear with the pressure on it. I used to do the same on my other phone without any issues but not on this mi phone, so be very careful when you leave your phone on your pocket or anything that put pressure on the phone screen.
P/s: even mi 10 pro not the "T" version can handle it tho i not sure why this T version cant.

Oh I get it now, thanks for explanation. Luckily this screen is not expensive as amoled and won't cost a fortune even if I damage it myself and have to pay it from my own pocket.

So far this phone is awesome, I just have a question for people who got their device.
1. Line on light screens are normal for amoleds right?
2. Does anyones unlock button feel soft or have less feedback then lets say the volume buttons?
3. The right side of the screen seems lighter in color, lets say you go into messaging and pull up the keyboard and look at the top row and look left to right do you see any difference in color?

1. It's a common problem on AMOLED screens and some are worse than others. If yours is bad enough to bother you you should go back to exchange for a new one.
2. Yeah the volume buttons are more clicky than the power/unlock button.
3. I notice it too but when I turn the device sideways I also seem to get a gradient left to right. I think it's either like that by design or an optical illusion.

That shouldn't be normal. My Galaxy S and Note are far superior in screen quality!
maybe the glue isnt fully dried, kinda like the iphone issue?
Mine wasn't like that on either of mine. Send it back
you dont see it on a gray screen? Its not as extreme as that photo shows but I can see it.
My power button is softer but I don't have the gradient issues you do. Sadly, I have a short line of stuck green pixels. Will be exchanging it with Expansys, wish me luck...

When the screen sucks on the galaxy nexus, that's normal, but screenbleed on g2x is lack of quality. Listen to yourselves, already exchanging devices, sounds like nothing will be up to your "standards" at least the g2x forum is rid of you.

I have a brighter area through my screen. as you can see lighter or darker parts of the screen seem normal on organic LEDs. They are all not exactly the same tolerance so will appear patch and different under low voltage (low brightness levels), After a weeks research on here and other sites, I decided not to return mine for fear of getting a worse exchange. I can live with it as its only very mild. BTW the bottom of my screen is defo brighter than the top.
Hope you don't get a worse one. Let us know.
Yea, you are right. im just paranoid.
Nah, I hear you. I was the same. I spent 590euro on a phone so you want it perfect. I'd return it if I had dead pixels for sure, but the lighter and darker thick lines or areas on low brightness seem to be across loads of GNs and a trait of AMOLED.
After a week, I've stopped scrutinizing and am now just starting to enjoy use the phone
I just spotted a very tiny black dot above the earpiece on the bezel (not the screen) on my note 2; like a mark left by the tip of someone's permanent marker at the China factory. It only looks prominent at particular viewing angles and lighting conditions. This might vary from device to device. Is this normal? Am I being too anal?

Well, I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about the bezel. My AMOLED display is perfect, no blobs, lines, vertical / horizontal lines, no tint whatsoever; I am extremely happy seeing a flawless display compared to many Note 2 Verizon and AT&T owners that complained about the dark spots you are talking about. I don't have them at all.
I just have a tiny mark on my bezel which appears to look like it was done by a permanent marker. I don't see any dent. I don't know if this mark is an imperfection, or if I am just being too anal. What do you all think?

Lol, sorry for any misunderstanding, no attitude intended. I bolded the word bezel in my last post because it seemed like you were talking about the display in respect to my device, lol.
Could it be that I am being too picky about a tiny mark?
I have the same thing on the top left bezel and on the right side bezel. But I really can't tell weather it is an imperfection, indentation or what. But like you said its only visible under certain lighting and at certain angles. But since I am OCD, it just drives me crazy knowing that they are there. I'll probably end up getting some kind of case that has a thick lip to cover the bezel area (the Seidio Active case) just so I will not be able to see those spots when using the phone.
Thank you very much for your acknowledgement. Its safe to say this is normal then. It doesn't seem to be an imperfection. There is no dent, and I can see the chrome in those areas as well. May be a little bit too much chrome. These plastic phones definitely deserve a case, no doubt. :good:
looks like other XDA members are more concerned of the phone's performance over aesthetics, lol,
Cheers

I suspected that my Note 8 had some backlight bleeding and I just confirmed it using the "Backlight Bleed Test" app from the Play Store.
For those who want to test their own units, simply download and run that app. It will display a black background and also boost the brightness level to 100%. If you do this in a dark room then you may see the white backlight of your tablet shining through some of the edges or corners of your unit. If you do see this, then your tablet has backlight bleed.
When I tested my Note 8, I found some bleeding on two corners and also a faint glow down the left side of my screen (I tried taking a picture of it but couldn't get the lighting right). In my case the backlight bleed is not too severe, but it bothers me to know that it's there in the first place. I'm wondering if all our units have this issue, or if some are better than others...
So...does your Note 8 have any backlight bleed? If so, how bad is it?
--
I'll test this when I get my unit....
Just tested mine , the bleeding was negligible , very slightly on the bottom and left side.Hope that helps.

That sounds just like what I have on mine, good to know. Thanks for your report, if others all have the same experience than at least we know the frequency and extent of the issue. Curious to see if others end up with the same results. XDA, please keep those reports coming
__
Just wanted to put my two cents in. I have a HTC amaze and the backlight bleed on that device is horrible. I have not tested mine, but I can tell you that I have not noticed any. So that means there is either very negligible or no backlight bleed on mine. In any case, I don't think it's anything to worry/complain about.

I tested another unit at Best Buy and it was slightly worse then mine. It looks like almost all units have some backlight bleeding, although nothing too bad when compared with other devices. Going to keep mine because I only notice it in extreme conditions (i.e. high brightness setting, dark background, dark room), and even then the effect is minimal. Thanks for the reports xda. Feel free to send in more reports if you have different test results with your Note 8.0.

I think that is the right play. This sounds like the kind of thing that will only bother you, if you go looking for it. Unless the bleed is excessive (which its not). I usually have my brightness at 40 or 50% in a bright room, and turn it down much lower than that in a dark room. I can maybe notice some slight bleed on the boot screen, but never noticed it any other time. So I'm going to do myself a favor, and not even go looking for a problem (by running the suggested app).
On my unit the bleed is not noticeable on auto brightness - which in low light it's ok for reading but too dim for watching pictures well. Becomes visible, but still not overly distracting, in low light on a black background when brightness is raised to a comfortable level for picture viewing. It's obvious with the combination of low light, black background, max brightness, as seen in the picture.

That's the same pattern as me, but a little more noticeable on yours. On my unit I can't see the bleeding on auto-brightness, and I only notice it in the lower-left corner and a bit at the bottom when it's a darker background/image and the brightness is turned up over 50%. After nearly two weeks of use it's fine for me, although I did try other units that had more noticeable bleed in different patterns that I would not have kept.
Got mine today and have some light bleed on bottom left corner and on the top side center. I wish it wasn't there, but it's not noticeable in normal usage. I have zero dead pixels, so I will just keep this one rather than try the exchange lottery.
I checked about 5 pieces of Note 8.0 today and all had some bleeding - some less than others. So I think this is an issue with all Note 8.0's. Some I tested before (and one today) also suffered from stuck pixel's... Anyway, I was able to find my self one without stuck pixels and not too bad bleeding
No I don't have any

A real problem is what my son has with his phone. This is being treated by Verizon as an actual defect.
Essentially we can see green LED's shinning through the top edge of the screen just above the forward facing camera.
please inspect your phone, we are getting this one replace on Thursday when they come out in stores officially.

Really ?
I just bought a N7 32GB , no multitouch issues , light bleeds , just one dead pixel on the bottom of the screen (just on the navigation bar) , I decided to RMA it as they said that the devices will be checked , and maybe replaced , now I am afraid that if they replace it ,I will get a device with other problems ..or a dead pixel in the middle of the screen which is so much worse then the current location of the pixel ...
And its a september build device..

I have a dark blue smear when on a black background, the smear is about 5mm diameter, but it didn't bother me too much since it doesn't show up while on lighter backgrounds, can't be bothered to go through all the replacement process and have a risk of getting a worse replacement with touch issues.

The first couple days after buying mine I had no light bleed, but after about a week I have light bleed in the same area and of approximately the same magnitude as you. Has anyone else experience the light bleed problem increasing over time?
Did you put a case on it before it started ?
My mom bought herself Galaxy Note 10.1 ,and a cheap case for it, when i checked the screen i noticed really bad light bleeds , i mean REALLY bad , so i removed the case and immediately it became much better , after a few days we got an original Samsung case for it which didn't make the same effect as the cheap case.. but this Samsung regular quality , cheap plastic that bends and makes noises to the touch , the N7 build quality is so much better so maybe its not the case .
No light bleed for me but one dead pixel. The screen is so dense you can hardly see it, only when you look for it is it visible. Great device other than that

I have noticed that applying pressure on the screen makes the light bleed worse. So you may be on to something.
Hello
I am the person who started this thread.
I posted this thread since I found 3 blue big stuck pixels, 1 tiny white stuck pixel, and minor light bleeds with a significant but little leakage at the back button spot. All of these were found under dark room when displaying black. Sorry I got no camera good enough to shoot under the dark condition.
The tiny white stuck pixel is nearly invisible. About 3pixels big.
Light bleed bothers me a bit but it is almost unrecognizable.
Blue stuck pixels are the weird ones. Even though they are relatively big, they can be only seen when displaying black. Cannot be seen in any other colors. What would these be?
Also I bought my nexus7 in the eBay. This means that I have to pay for shipping back if I want a refund. Also there is no guarantee that I am not getting a worse one. Should I ask for an exchange?
Sorry my words may sound like a total gibberish. This happens to be a lot whenever I am writing with a mobile device

When I first used my N7, I checked the screen very carefully for light bleed and found none. Now, 4 days later light bleed is starting to appear along the top of the screen. Is this common? Should I expect the light bleed to continue to increase?
Hi
I just bought a refurbished tab 10.5 (sm t800 bronze/gold version). I read a lot of reviews praising the screen and saying it was one of the most accurate yet in terms of colour. When comparing photos and images next to my computer or old tablet (nook HD+) I notice that the colours don't look accurate to me though. The skin tones especially all shift towards purple slightly. A photo taken in golden sunlight looks more of a reddish colour than the yellow it should be and the grass looks more blue in tone than yellow.
I read that AMOLED screens had problems in the past with accuracy but all the reviews I've read said this solves that problem. But its noticeably off from what I can see. I've turned it onto basic colour mode turned the brightness down and it looks good but still just off. Thing is my whites look very white and blacks black, I cant see a purple cast over the screen, it just seems to be that certain colours aren't reproduced accurately.
I also notice that if I turn the screen off and look at my reflection in it, I can see there's a slightly purple colour to it, as opposed to if I look at my reflection in the nook HD, which makes me think maybe this has something to do with the screen coating?
Anyway, has anyone else noticed this and is it just how these screens are? Or should I be returning it? Going to try and see if I can find a tab 2 to compare it too in a store but would really appreciate if anyone else knows if this is normal or not.
Cheers
Can you please make screenshot or attach the photo you are viewing, and then make a photo with a decent camera of your screen.
Then we will be probably able to tell if it looks like on our tab s like on yours.

Dumb question but is there a screen protector on it?
I ask because although I don't have a 10.5 (I have an 8.4) I don't see any purple colours at all either in the on-screen image or in my reflection.
Definitely do what @jevgeje said because then we'd be able to compare.

Hmmm that's a good question about the screen protector. As far as I'm aware it hasn't, it certainly feels glassy and I can't see any airbubbles, not sure how id know for sure though.
I can take a photo if that might help others still, but I went to a store today and looked at it next to an s2 which is basically same screen and the purple tinge was obvious. The s2 was more yellow in the whites and more how I felt this tablet should look. Could clearly see mine was more purple next to it. Looking at the little yellow flower on the gallery app too, mine looked almost orange compared to the s2 which was clearly yellow.
So either all the tab s 10.5 are like this , (which I seriously doubt) or I've got a faulty screen. If it was a screen protector causing this that I could remove that would be great as its a shame to send this back and probably won't be able to afford an s2 most likely
Here's some photos of the screen next to my Nook HD+. Can clearly see the purple tinge on it. Also how it looks turned off, reflection is green or purple depending on angle, I think thats normal on amoled though.

Yep, it's there as you said. Mine has no discoloration like that. I assume the refurbishing didn't quite work?

Guess so . I'll be interested to see what the seller says when they get back to me. Such a shame though because its a great tablet, annoying to have to send it back. I do think its stupid they put the mic on the bottom of the tablet though, very easy to cover it up if you are resting it on something and trying to Skype.
Hmm.... I also see what you mean.
Assuming you are stock and this is the same as on the 8.4, look in Settings->Device->Display: See if any of the "Screen mode" settings make a difference as well as unchecking (or checking) "Auto adjust screen tone".
Cheers, yeah i've tried all the settings, none of them look correct. I even tried changing the colours by deliberately choosing the wrong colours in the accessibility settings colour test, which i'd read about on here. That looked even more fake though lol. I think the screen just cannot reproduce those colours correctly for some reason. Maybe it was refurbished with a off brand screen or something, I did ask before I purchased if it was original screen and they said it was though, but who knows. Always gonna be a bit of a gamble buying refurbished really.

Ah, I am out of ideas then.
Have you contacted the seller? Maybe they can exchange it for you.
