MIUI 12.02 Global ROM Notification Bar Bug - Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite Questions & Answers

Hi all,
Hope you are fine. I am using Mi Note 10 Lite and MIUI 12.02 Global ROM. I can access/enable/disable all things (WIFI, Mobile Data, etc.) on Notification Bar when phone locked. My opinion is this is a vulnerability for me. Is there any way to prevent this?
Any help appreciated.
Kind Regards.

Settings -> notification -> lock screen notification -> disable the "Open notification shade on lock screen"

Well, if you swipe to the right while on lock screen (to the camera), you can still access the Notification bar. So for instance, if you lose your phone, anyone can still disable wifi and gps in case you access the "find my phone" option on the PC.

I believe that disabling the status bar on the lock screen is not a security feature, but rather to prevent accidental modification of some settings (in a pocket for example). If someone steals your phone, they can just as well turn it off, remove the SIM card or perform a factory reset, they do not really need to use the status bar at all..

Help on enquiries with settings on notification bar

Hi guys,
At first, when I bought Galaxy Nexus, it was on 4.0.2. I cannot access settings through the notification panel when using slide lock unless I slide open and I will see the settings menu.
However, now when I patch to 4.0.4, I did not try out did the patch changes the ui. Now, I can access settings through the notification panel without even slide open.
Is this normal? Does anyone experiencing this? Please advise.
Thanks.
Being able to slide down the notification bar and enter settings without unlocking is normal. Unless of course you have a PIN or pattern enabled, then you can't do anything without first entering the PIN or pattern.

Thanks. But at first, when I bought the phone, I can drag down the notification bar, but I cannot access settings straight without sliding to unlock. However, now, I can access settings straight, when I click the settings shortcut, I can hear the unlock sound and den straight to settings. Please advise.

[Q] Opening notification turns on Lock Screen?

I have a SGN2, unrooted. It runs Android version is 4.1.2. I use a utility to toggle on/off the lock screen, "SwitchPro Widget". My lock mode is "Pattern Lock".
SwitchPro works perfectly in toggling many of the state variables. I notice a "bug", but I don't think it is attributed to SwitchPro - I think it might be of Android.
Situation where things work properly:
Assume that I have the lock screen toggled off (no security set). Occasionally I get a notification, for which I can slide open the Notification window for a listing of all current notification. If I close the listing, without opening any individual notification message, then the lock screen remains toggled off. Good, no change as expected.
Situation where things mysteriously change:
Assume that I have the lock screen toggled off (no security set). Occasionally I get a notification, for which I can slide open the Notification window for a listing of all current notification. If I select an individual notification message from the list, then the lock screen mysteriously toggles on, and demands me to enter my unlock pattern code, before viewing the individual notification. The is bad - what is causing the lock screen state to be toggle?
Has anyone else encountered this?
Any ideas on how this can be remedied?
You could try simply turning off the security in the android settings, instead of trying to use a widget to do it.
Most apps that claim they can turn off your lock settings, usually can't. Android won't let them do it permanently. If you reboot, you will need to re-run the app, but before you can do that, you'll need to enter the code.
You can however, simply go into the android settings and turn it off manually. Then it will be permanent until you go back and turn it on again.

I have encountered this numerous times and it can be frustrating. If you are rooted, you can install Xposed Framework and install the Notification Direct Launcher module. This will prevent this from happening, works like a charm.

Is It Possible To Lock Pull Down Notification Bar

While my pixel is locked, I can pull down the notification bar and access my phone settings (wifi, data, Bluetooth, hotspot, etc.).
Is there a way to disable access to those settings on the lock screen? I don't want those settings accessible until my phone is unlocked.

Did you start another thread with the same title? I can't seem to find it now. But nonetheless, I can't figure it out either. I've seen posts about using the systemUI tweaks but that doesn't seem to work. I kind of believe it to be a security problem since you can disable wifi, data, bt etc. And I really don't want to know how to do it with a custom rom since I'd never run one on this device since my bl is locked.
Bump on this. Is it possible to disable the navigation dropdown on the lockscreen that allows access to all your settings? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
@facted
system allows to access some settings
anyway you can use a lock screen app
I searched and found this and I am using it myself now
Go to app setting and find disable status bar > turn it on and Done!
ZUI Locker-Elegant Lock Screen

Sorry to say but this app (ZUI locker) is crap. No finger unlock, thats for starters... I dont even want to get into the other things this program lacks of.
there's a xposed module that can fix this however xposed isn't stable on Oreo yet...
https://github.com/char101/xposed-q...main/java/com/github/char101/qslock/Main.java
maybe it can be adapted for magisk.

quick settings menu available when locked

Android 10, screen locked, but can still toggle wifi, bluetooth and hotspot using the drop down quick setting menu. Only location seems to require an unlock. This can't be secure. Anyway to lock it down besides removing the sensitive shortcuts from the menu?
This is annoying because it toggles my Do Not Disturb sometimes while in my pocket.

Notification Icons not showing in status bar

Hi all -
Trying to see if this is normal behavior or a bug, but I have two notifications on my lock screen (Messages and Outlook). When I unlock the device, in the top left, I just see the clock and "AT&T". When I drag the status bar down, I see my messages and outlook notifications (they are not silent or minimized). Why would I want to see AT&T instead of these notifications? Is there an option I'm missing to remove the carrier info?
I'm having the same issue, you are not alone. I spent more than an hour going through every single setting, but found nothing on how to fix this issue.

Just to try and narrow the issue, are you also on an AT&T device?
Fair enough, my apologies.
I have Sprint, and this is happening on my Galaxy S20.

I think that is actually super helpful information. This appears to be a OneUI issue, rather than an android, carrier, or particular model issue. So it needs to somehow get reported to Samsung for a fix... Does anyone here know if there a public place where Samsung tracks bugs for these devices?
Or does anyone know a writer who would pick up this story for a media outlet to shine some light?
Just to try something, have you toggled the setting in status bar section that says show all notifications?
I'm taking about opening quick settings toggles, pressing the three dots menu and then status bar.
I hadn't tried that, no. However, I just did and that didn't change anything.
My wife has an S20 Ultra on AT&T, and she's seeing this as well. I know there's a way to request support or post your issue to the community in the Samsung Members app. I may try to do that from her phone later today.
I've had issues with app notifications and icon badges since the S8, they never seem to get them to work properly

UPDATE
I was using the trial for Sprint's Call Screener program. I turned it off earlier, and now I no longer see "Sprint" in the status bar. I see the icons like I should. I have no idea if that is what solved the problem or not, but I didn't receive an update today and that's the only thing I can remember changing.
Go to settings, display and change 'Full screen Apps' to Auto for all
I played with that setting. It didn't have an affect on the notification issue.

Vinsuja, that setting did not work for me, however you sent me on the right path. I have had this same issue with notification not showing. I found that the camera cut out setting is causing this. Go to settings > display > full screen apps > click 3 dots for advanced settings > turn on hide camera cutout. This adds a black bar at the top, but fixes the notification issue
Edit: You can turn the setting back off and notifications will appear. This seems to be an issue with the full screen UI
Try using QuickStar in Good Lock (if you don't have good lock yet, its in the galaxy store). Under "visibility of indicator icons" you can turn off "Network Information" on homescreen, lockscreen and Expanded QS panel, that should hide your AT&T/Sprint etc etc label in the status bar. Interestingly enough I have a Bell S20, by default for my region carrier name is not shown.. which is a bonus...
