Hello everyone.
I'm restoring my old zenfone 2 (ze551ml). After a very bad smash on the ground, I had to replace the screen and the frame. Other internals seems to be fine, except for the battery lid (the metallic one under the sim card socket), which is lightly bended on a corner. It's actually on stock firmware (6.0.1). Taking pictures, while the camera app (the stock one) is saving a photo into the gallery, the phone shuts down. Then, it doesn't boot until it's plugged to a charger, even with a charged battery. I still have not tried any 3rd party app for camera. Does anyone had this kind of problem? Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!
Edit: I forgot to say I've already done a factory reset from recovery, the problem still persists.
Edit #2: I've downgraded to LP, but the problem still persists. Despite this, a third party camera app works properly

Hello all. I have an issue with my HTC Desire (BravoC).
Any time I open up the default camera app or a camera app off of the market it just goes to a blank screen and if I try to press anything such as the menu button or trackpad key it causes a Force Close error.
Along with the camera, I can't get the Torch app or any flashlight apps to work either. However the flash will randomly go off so I know it does still function. I don't know if the two are related or two separate issues entirely.
I've tried reflashing:Factory Reset>Clear Cache> Cleak Dalvik Cache>New ROM and I've tried this with CM7, Ultimate Droid, and MIUI with out restoring any settings with Titanium.
I also tried reseating all of the connections to the (mother?) board because I had replaced a cracked screen previously and along with that taking the battery and SD card out for 30 secs.
I'm really fresh out of ideas as to what it might be. Anyone else have this issue or have any ideas what it could be or what I could try to?

I would very carefully check all ribbon cables to your camera hardware to make sure they are not torn. Even the slightest tear in the cable could cause any number of problems. I once switched out the casing on my Sony Ericsson W810 and at some point ripped the ribbon cable to the camera without realizing it. For some reason this caused the screen to no longer work even though the phone (a "dumbphone" (which could natively do email) mind you) would boot normally, making calls and such.
Hi!
I brought my Xperia Play phone USED two years ago and I've never had any problems with it.
However, recently, the phone has started to freeze itself in "screensaver" mode (Where the screen goes black after 15 seconds and locks the phone), but the screen won't light up no matter which button I press. I've had to restart the phone every time this happens.
It's been behaving strange at start up as well, as it sometimes take 20 minutes just for it to turn on, while on other occasions, it won't turn on at all!
Is this problem caused by the battery, or is it the hardware?
Is it with stock firmware?

Yes.
I've never modded it or installed custom firmware/apps.
Have you tried factory resetting it?

Yes, but it didn't fix it. The problem still occurs.
tldr: Black screen, no display, everything works "under" (I can answer the phone etc). Not a flex cable problem because occurs randomly, regardless of the slider being open or closed. The problem also occurs during boot up, so rather not a software problem.
I think I have something similiar. Everything was fine until a few days ago the screen didn't want to unlock..or at least I thought it was that.
Basically the phone sometimes works OK but sometimes if I turn off (lock) the screen, it won't go back. To be precise, the phone works and if someone calls me I can pick it up moving the finger where the slider should be, it's just the display doesn't turn on. Same goes for booting, bootloader logo etc, so IMO it's not a software problem.
Strange thing is that it just randomly pops back, sometimes when I move the gamepad slider, sometimes when I put in a jack cable or if I hard reset the phone (remove battery). I've had problems with the flex cable in the past and this time I know that it's not it (no difference if I open/close the slider).
My guess would be some power supply or LCD driver IC issues, because the screen stops working almost everytime if I put the phone into the dock. Moreover, if the screen doesn't work, the orange charging LED is not working (green and blue are OK). The moment the screen starts working, the orange charging LED starts working too.
it's very strange but I'm used to electronics doing strange stuff. Just wondering if I should give a try disassembling the phone and trying to fix it or just buy a new one or something?
I might add that I have bought a new battery ~3 months ago, but it's been working fine to this point. I have tried if the same problem occurs with the old/original battery and it's the same.
well, any ideas?
edit: This video shows something very similiar (except the backlight): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4p0-kv1cxA
Same problem. And I guess this guy has it too.

Any help?
okay, so I've had my Xperia zl for about 13 months.
I never rooted it or altered anything majorly, just installed nokias z launcher.
5 days ago my microphone stopped working. two days ago, my front camera stopped working. and today, my earpiece stopped working as well.
when I try to make a call, my light sensor shuts down completely and disables everything until the other party disconnects from the call. as well, my battery is draining twice as quickly even though I haven't been using my phone as often as previously.
before these things started happening I didn't install any new apps or change anything. I've done a firmware repair through the pc companion and two factory resets. nothing has worked.
does this sound like a motherboard issue? or is this just a problem with connectors coming loose?

Its looks like it. Open your back cover and remove the connector which connects your front camera(the connector which is in bottom left). Now reconnect the connector. switch on your phone. See if this helps
I have an LG-G4 (VS986 - Verizon), rooted (13b). On three occasions over the past week, the phone has hard-crashed (totally powered off immediately and unexpectedly, and would NOT power up, even after a battery pull). In each case, the only way to bring it back to life was to plug it into a charger, which booted it up when the power button was held - but in every case the battery was at least 80% charged at the time of the crash (and I tried two different batteries), so it wasn't a power issue. It only happened when using the camera (actually taking pictures, not browsing through the gallery). It doesn't occur every time (I shot about 15 pictures this morning, and it didn't reproduce the crash).
I also have noticed that the pictures do not flip vertically/horizontally during viewing (usually in QuickPic but also in Gallery) but Advanced Tools says the accelerometer, etc. is working fine. This is also recent - started about the same time as the issue above.
Anyone else seen this?
Thanks in advance...!
Relash the stock firmware that u are on by lgup or lg flashtool (cse way) if ur in custom rom go back to stock..if it still persisits then its a hardware issue most probably a faulty power Button
I had a similar problem. Did you use an sd card? If the photos are saved to the sd card, that could be the problem, as it was for me. As soon as I took it out, the rebooting stopped (except I could do the battery pull).
It's been behaving itself since the initial post. Yes, I use an SD card, but it passes a filesystem check and neither the camera nor any other apps have had any problem writing to it otherwise thus far. I'm going to keep watching it for a while; if it recurs and persists, I'll consider reflashing the KDZ and starting over.
Thanks!
This started happening to me once I got a 3rd party battery. Usually when the flash goes off.
seems like battery related..issue
I have LGG3 D855 MM stock rom, before I've had fulmics rom and that's when the problem started happening, figured a clean wipe and going back to stock rom would solve the issue but it didn't.
Flashlight won't work, tried other camera apps but it always fails.
Sometimes the camera starts working for a fraction of a second then it seizes to work and freezes the whole phone making it restart.
Figured it might be a hardware problem, but can a hardware problem with the camera freeze the phone? I don't really know, sorry.
Can anyone please help?
Update 1: Tried re-rooting the device and installing fulmics rom, still no luck, tried installing V10 camera app, nothing new.
Update 2: Front camera works sometimes but the image seems stretched, also it crashes after seconds and goes to black screen then freezes the whole phone sometimes making it restart by itself.
Tried the force stop and clearing cache and data trick in both camera and gallery and still no luck.
sounds like a hardware issue like a bad mainboard or connections loose or something, did the phone get wet? have u checked the camera connections with phone apart?

I've actually replaced the rear camera but am still having the same problem only without the phone restarting, maybe it's a problem with some wiring I guess? Any suggestions please?
Also, the phone never got wet.
