Toshiba tv 65u7750ve restricted profile‏ - Philips, Sony, TCL Android TV

Hi
I have entered restricted profile and are being asked for a pin to exit this. However, i have no recollection of setting pin. How can i re-set pin to exit restricted profile? I cannot perform factory re-set or as i cannot to this in restricted profile.

How to remove password protection???

I tried to set up my orbit to sync with works exchange server and it ended up applying some security setting making me set a password. Now i've got rid of the sync relationship i still have this password control. I've been in the 'lock' settings and the check box to untick is greyed out!
Can anyone tell me how to get rid of this annoying thing so i don't have to type in a password every 5 seconds!!???

Undo password

Today i set up my orbit to sync with my work email and calender. Everything worked brilliantly apart from my orbit forcing me to enter a password in the 'Lock' function in settings.
So every time i turn on my orbit i am prompted to enter my password, this realy annoyed me so i deleted my work email account hopeing to un-prompt the password every time i turn on the orbit.
In 'Settings' 'Lock' the prompt if unused box will not untick.
Any ideas apart from a hard reset?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
Mark.
Hi,
Change the 'password type' to: Simple PIN.
This would allow you to untick the 'Prompt if device unused'

Thanks Kiwi, but ive already tried this and just tried again. When i select Simple Pin, it will not allow me to enter a simple pin password or uncheck 'Prompt if device unsued'.
Hi,
I'm surprised to hear that your problem still persists.
Personally, I haven't synchronised my work e-mail and calendar. However, the suggestion that I made was exactly what I did when faced with a similar problem to yours and it worked for me.
Maybe it's got something to do with the synchronisation. What do you think? The Exchange Server at your place of work, perhaps.
I don't think that simply deleting your e-mail account on your device (as you did), would make much difference. Remember that you've already synchronised the device: e-mail account, password and all, with the Exchange Server.
Here's my suggestion:
1. Synchronise (again) with Exchange Server, re e-mail and calendar.
2. Now enter a 'Simple PIN' password (note: if the system would not allow you to use a Simple PIN password, enter a 'Strong alphanumeric' password).
3. Try to access your e-mail or calendar (you should be able to). This is just to test it.
4. Exit your e-mail or calendar
5. Now, de-synchronise
6. Finally, go into your device and change the password type to 'Simple PIN'
7. Then, untick the box next to 'Prompt if device unused'
I think that doing a hard-reset should be a last resort 'cos you need to know how to deal with this problem, for the future.
Let us know what's happening.

Thanks again kiwi, i would try your advice but have already hard reset device after a few days of frustration in entering password just to use device. Im not bothered anyway about using my own device for work email. I read this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=305859&highlight=undo+password and decided to hard reset.
I may (when i get around to it) try my exec with work email and calender and then follow your advice.
Cheers.
Hi,
Glad you are sorted.
At least we were thinking on the same lines as the thread to which you referred.

[Q?] Google password

i've searched this forum for this issue, and found nothing.
my issue is, for some reason, i've changed my google account password from pc. after changing the password, my desire won't sync with all my google mail, calendar, etc.. is there any way to change the google account setting on my desire to match the new password?
Hi,
Remove and add new. Its 1 minute job.
i've try to remove the account. then there's a pop up says "this account is required by some applications. you can only delete it by resetting the phone to factory defaults (which deletes all your personal data). you do that in the settings application, under about phone".
i don't want to loose all my data and apps. is there any way to change the password on my phone without resetting the phone?
Whenever I swap SIM cards in my phone, it always asks for the passwords for my Google accounts again (for security purposes).
I wonder if doing this will help you out with your issue.
Regards,
Dave
thanks for the idea.. i'll borrow my friend sim card to test whether it works...

[Q] HTC One X, Sense 4.0 and Trusted Credentials

Has anyone discovered any tweaks to HTC Sense 4.0 that enable you to set a trusted credential password independent from a phone PIN or password?
In order for me to access the WLAN and email at work, we use software certificate based EAP-TLS. While there are several ROMs that feature modified Exchange support to remove the need for admin rights elevation for the mail profile, I haven't found a way to store my software certificate in the trusted credential cache without setting a phone PIN or password. In older versions of Sense, I was able to set a strong password for the encrypted credential store and use a different security policy for phone unlock. But with Sense 4.0 I am forced to select either PIN or password, neither are ideal for me.
Using the same PIN for the phone and credential storage isn't what I would like as a 4 digit PIN isn't strong enough for the trusted credentials. But there is no way that I want to type in a 12 character mixed case strong password that I would use for the credential storage every time I want to unlock my phone.
Can anyone recommend a ROM that might have the ability to set the security on the trusted credentials and certificates separately? If not, are there any security mods that might let me change the "Lock Phone after" duration to something higher than 15 minutes?

Can't remove PIN security after removing SIP settings

I have been messing with the native SIP client. When I first setup the account it prompted me to enter a PIN on the device. Now I have finished messing, I have removed the SIP account but I cannot clear the PIN.
Anyone got a solution?

Can you be a bit more specific?
Is the PIN for the SIP client, some other app, or for the phone (to unlock from the lockscreen)?
If you create a sip account android saves the login. To avoid that 3rd person can use sip because of the saved login. You must set a pin for the lock screen. Try to clear data from phone application and then try again to disable pin in lock screen settings
