[Ans] Current Odin releases (1.84, 1.85) does support SGY, but has
incompatibility issues with stock firmware packs (eg from FUS
server, Sammobile, and other common sources). But Doky73
converted most of the current firmwares and released it to public.

and actually the cwm for our phone is in development phase its not fully functional and still lots of bugs.
How can I tell if antutu cpu master is working?
Sent from my GT-S5360 using xda premium
you will feel the decreased speed and increased battery life
Yikes. Well I was wondering if there was any way to check logs of some sort. To monitor the cpu. Because honestly, I can't tell myself if there's a difference. And any time I check it's running at max frequency. So I want to know if it's doing anything when phone is not in use.
Edit
I tried to use cpu spy. It doesn't seem to be compatible with sgy? :/
Sent from my GT-S5360 using xda premium
actually max frequency is the default frequency ie. 832 Mhz so you won't feel any difference because there is no difference
but when you will under clock it ie 600 Mhz then you will feel difference
and Yeah SGY kernel ain't support cpu master
re
to check if cpu frequency has decreased, run a benchmark before and after frequency change, you will get lower score with lower frequency...
And currently SGY kernel only support 312 and 832, you cant select any other frequency.....
i would like to suggest to put this in FAQ

Can someone please tell me which rom should i choose for making my own custom rom, by brother have this phone and i want to make a good custom rom for him but i m confused in choosing a rom as a base, please suggest me the best stock rom out for galaxy y.
please guys keep patience my exams are very near I'm too busy atm I'll add all of these and lots more but please wait for sometime
Thank You..
This post is in reply to jeffcleds on the other thread PG closed just now. I've typed it up then hit reply only to get a message that the thread has been closed. So copy pasta to here:
^+1 for number five. Lol.
But seriously, this is why you make a backup before flashing custom roms. I've seen you go around on other threads begging for help on how to get back to stock, but never bothering to understand the answer when it requires you to think for yourself. No offense.
No, kies won't help. No, don't bring it to a service center. They won't accept phones with custom roms. Flash stock via Odin. I'll link you to a guide tomorrow with all the files you need, if nobody does it before me. I need to catch up on sleep for now. For now I suggest you read up on nandroid backups. It'll help.

DUE TO MY EXTREMELY BUSY SCHEDULE BOTH @ WORK AND @ HOME, I WILL ONLY MAKE MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENTS ONCE PER WEEK
Open Beta may not be stable and may cause issues with your phone!
By loading open beta you have agreed to:
1. To report all random reboots with associated /proc/last_kmsg
2. To provide feedback on errors or bugs with detail phone information such as ROM, kernel version, and apps
3. Participate in Forum discussions for the beta software with others without FLAMING each other or post useless information such as:
a} Phone doesn't boot (without providing any additional information, ROM versions etc)
b} phone is too hot (without providing any additional information, ie OC freq, UV etc)
The Open Beta system is designed to have the community help each other and the developers. This way, all potential bugs are flushed out so the final released version will be stable and error free. The more actively you participate in Beta Testing the better the final product will be (you are really helping yourself to create a better community software).
If you do NOT agree with the statements above, DO NOT load my Open Beta software.
Kernel 012 Open Beta 1 is out! (BETAs ARE ALWAYS ULTIMATE + Variant Free unless I stated otherwise)
ICS ==> http://faux.androidro.ms/endeavoru/beta/endeavoru-Faux123-012b1.zip
[ build 1 ]
Add Low Power (LP) core overdrive
(What is LP overdrive? LP core is capable of running up to 620 MHz @ 1.3 volts, so I simply unlocked the LP core to allow it to operate @ max freq. The overdrive also adjust the G cluster / LP core cross over point. The stock version was @ 475MHz LP / 370 MHz G-cluster, I moved the cross over point to 620MHz LP / 513 MHz G-cluster).
What does all this mean? It means LP core is now able to handle more load up to 620MHz single core before switching over to the more power hunger G-Clusters. This should theoretically save more battery life (since LP core is designed to very power frugal in Hardware). When you check the CPU stats with CPUSpy, you will see the cross over points 513MHz and 620 MHz to have high usage time. <== THIS is normal because the stats counts BOTH the LP time and the G-Cluster time so it appears to have more time than other frequencies.

Hi faux,
As developer do you think that the flicker issue (on some devices) can be solved from the software side? I'm asking this becasue I'm still waiting for the fix from someone and don't want to send the device back to the shop if it will be possible to fix this via software.
Many thanks in advance!

On some devices at some brightness levels, mostly on gray images the screen behaves not as expected. It starts to flicker but only on the grey part of image. (for me at least).
It's like installing an OS on PC with a generic display driver, like if the refresh rates were not correct.
Here are some benchmarks screen shots:
Hi faux!
Can the kernel be flashed right onto ARHD 5.1.1 or does it have to be adapted to ARHD?
Greetings
Edit: Tried it myself and it works on ARHD 5.1.1
Antutu Benchmark is : 10121
Quadrant BM is: 4366
Unfortunately, I have to admit that my Antutu scrore was around 11000 with Bricked Kernel,
but whatever

And now, a FAQ. @franciscofranco's FAQ, updated to fit our device.
F.A.Q. - Read this before complaining!
1. My phone exploded, HALP!
A: I don't answer to problems without a log. The log file is in /proc/last_kmsg. Paste it on pastie.org and link it on your post or, preferably, post all of that under the "Bugs" section of DevDB and either post a memo of that in the thread or PM me. Logcats are useless for Kernel purposes, don't bother posting them.
2. OMG BETTARY SUCKZ, IT DEAD IN 45 MINUTAS, HALP!
A: As you can imagine I don't build kernels to decrease battery life. All the battery life problems come from your apps, either Facebook, or Maps, or some Location Service being enabled etc etc. Check your damn wakelocks and fix them, the kernel is not responsible for them.
3. How do I flash this?
A: It's zipped so it's flashable via recovery, though you may also extract the kernel and fastboot flash it. Some alphas come in the form of .elf, though it is recommended that you flash them via fastboot regardless of that.
4. OP is arrogant, I'm gonna call the Internet Police?
A: Deal with it. Especially if asking a question already answered on the first page.
5. Touch Control doesn't work in rXXX release, you suckas, fix plixe!
A: I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for a fix, I can tell you I don't have the solution. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you leave now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I ignore you.
6. What's up with the kernel's name?
A: Well I have '755' in my name. So there's that... KerKat is something like "Kernel" plus "KitKat". This was my best idea at midnight.
7. I'm on stock/CM10/CM9/GB and this kernel doesn't work.
A: This kernel is ONLY for Cyanogenmod 11 and any ROMs that came of it (like AOKP, for example). Don't flash on anything else unless you are SURE the ROM is based off of OpenSEMC's CM11.
8. My Locked-bootloader phone won't boot with this/I can't flash it.
A: This is a custom kernel. It requires an unlocked bootloader.
9. What app do you recommend for dealing with CPU settings?
A: Use TricksterMod. For 2D GPU OC and setting the 2nd CPU core's governor, I recommend Kernel Tuner. Both are feature-packed and free, and if you don't mind an extra icon in your drawer, I say get both.
10. What is the difference between releases marked as a# and r#?
A: The r# releases are considered the most stable, but do not pack all the features newest features because my work is rather slow; I'll add an alpha, an a# release, every time a minor change is introduced. But even if they look and feel stable, do not consider them as such, despite some of them being flashable through recovery. Most of them are dirty builds!!! Meant for advanced users only!
11. I want to support you and your work!
A: Putting a subtle sign in your signature that you're using my kernel (or like it or have/had used it). Please, no big banners or anything, just the name of the kernel. That would be appreciated the most.
12. EYE NEEDZ A DISCUSSON THRED; ARHGAHGHAGHHAHGH!
A: This thread serves as both the development and discussion thread for this kernel. Non-dev discussion is allowed, but please do stay on topic.
And now, thanks!
@RaymanFX -- helping me with nearly all issues and, of course the kernel sources. Also for an old project from which I learned how proper GPU OC is done.
@abcdjdj -- writing a neat tutorial on how to compile kernels, and telling me about the -w flag
@letama -- adding a few new words into my dictionary (initramfs=ramdisk, did you know that!? ) and a heap of other stuff
@hei1125 -- the NOVA kernel, and its' sources
@Forzaferrarileo -- his kernel, Forzaferrarileo
@IAmTheOneTheyCallNeo, @fusionjack and @DJLamontagneIII -- for detailed toolchain and compiler flags explanation
@franciscofranco -- for inspiring me to get this done
@Wendigogo -- for SCSI and USB fixes help
@cronot -- lots of helpz
@aebob -- awesome logo idea
@thicklizard -- helping with -O3
@deedwar and @DooMLoRD -- their work on CPU overclocking
Sony and Google -- Android rules
HTC -- Inventing S-ON, forcing me to buy a Sony phone :3
@all -- for being an awesome community! C:

Don't know what's wrong but this Kernel made my phone lagging as hell and unusable..
My rom is untouched cm11.
---------- Post added at 04:01 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:50 PM ----------
Okay looks like the "Hyper" governor caused all my problems.
But also with other governor it laggs and cpu always stays at 384 mhz and gpu always on 177 mhz. This happens even with "performace" governor.
Even recovery laggs as never before. This kernel has many, many problems for me.
Also flashing just the open semc zip takes verry long, it's flashing for five minutes now!
FAQ, points 1, 4 and 5.
You should show some respect, I didn't say anything against you I just reported my problems.
FAQ number 4.
There's a reason DevDB exists. You wanted to report a problem? Use what is to be used.
I give respect where it's due. And so should you.
I'm here with my phone and can't use DevDB.

Yes you can.
The dev uploaded files on telegram as well.
*shouldn't start this way but this first paragraph is for the SAVY Rooted SURFACE DUO USERS whom understand drivers and this whole comcept of the ability to upgrade Adreno drivers, LOOKNG TO SKIP THE FLUFF AND CUT THE CHASE *expedited summary*
You can see your current Display/graphics driver via an app like AIDA64 via the play store (for reference my up to date Android 12 Duo had v502 drivers).... The installation is like any standard magisk module. Simply flash a suitable SM8150(aka snapdragon 855/Andreno 640) driver via magisks/Fox's MMM obtained from this link:
adreno driver for sm8xxx/sm7xxx/sm6xxx
adreno driver magisk module for sm8150 or sm8xxx/sm7xxx/sm6xxx family running on R or newertested on sm8150 and sm8250WARNING : [email protected] has known crash issues when used with magiskWARNING: BLOBS HAS...

be sure to read the details of the different varients... I recocommend starting with the stock 530. Use at your own risk,.. I recommend the 530 edition, as they have reported no known issues, after install you can verify the current driver version via an app like AIDA64...
Ps.. I used fox's MMM to install the magisk module for the stock 530 first, and after verifyimg all was well, I was able to revert to v502 simply by uninstalling via Foxs MMM & rebooting... so that gave me confidence to install the version I am using currently which ist The December 2022 530 release posted, that also emulates being an ADRENO 730...it's actually as smooth as butter, past first 24hrs & benchmark tests etc (no battery studies by me tho so you'll have to explore that yourself as all I can say is that my temps were much more stable in AnTuTu enroute to higher scores.. also I have not tried the later drivers, opting to stay bug free with the v530 for now, since performance is already top tier imo, playing all games I have at max even prior, but the UI/UX is noticably more responsive and smooth which makes me eager for my pen to arrive as I'm certain these improvements will also translate there as well as the UX for me now has literally zero input/update delay)

Here goes a full post....I am not good at this but yeah..lemme drop something useful relevant and compatible to our devices I'm thanks *this is not any of my work nor is it specifically designed for Surface Duo users yet it works perfectly considering it's targeted for our same underlyimg hardware
------UPDATED/MODIFIED ADRENO 640 GRAPHICS DRIVERS TO BOOST OVERALL PERFORMANCE
...We all know Microsoft is historically behind when it comes to providing users with the latest hardware drivers and the situation is no different here....
Vroom, hello I've been super busy absolutely renovating my Surface Duo and I'm just felt this particular discovery of a mod would be a great one to highlight. Essentially, you more than likely are running outdated drivers for our Andreno 640, to identify exactly what version your drivers are, you can use the 'AIDA64' application to identify which drivers you are running (I'll guess v 502 if your surface is up to date on Android 12 like minea).. nevertheless we all know how important drivers can be to increased performance and implementation of various codimg advancements to enhance existing hardware. Your display drivers are oh so critical to your entire experience while using your device for absolutely any visible task, and especially are the backbone of gaming performance... So because this is such a useful all around mod for all of us looking to stay on the bleeding edge of things, I feel it would be unjust to not share such a useful thing that most Duo users may not otherwise sought out.
This is not my own tweak nor creation, so use this at your own risk. In which case, I will recommend that if your set-up is like mines, in that your Surface is running driver version 502 and is up to date with either Android 12, you should feel pretty safe to install this mod via FOXES MMM... However if you typically flash magisks mods in other fashions, well proceed with caution (only because I just don't know, however it is my belief that if you flash version 530 which has been determined stable and don't touch anything that isn't designed exclusively for OUR SURFACE DUO MODEL SM8150, that you should be safe..
Sorry i am not in the business of posts like these so let me just tell you my process of which I feel safe, however I am not suggesting there is any one correct way as I'm theory ,it's simply a matter of flashing the correct files to magisk..
But because I have to explain something without just assuming you're a modded that's already ready for the links
***********UPDATED AND MODIFIED GRAPHICS DRIVERS FOR SM8150 (SNAP855,A640)*****
Requirements (for SURFACE DUO, SNAPDRAGON 855 (aka **SM8150**), ADRENO 640)

Rooted
Magisk installed
Fox's MMM (at least that's what I use to flash magisk files)
Optional (Aida64) this app is one of such that will display your driver version in the display tab
*****Step 1
So essentially after verifying with the Aida64 app that you have a Duo with an 855, and ADRENO 640...
************Step to 2
You simply need to head over to this site download the desired drivers
Click files and select an SM8150 driver*
adreno driver for sm8xxx/sm7xxx/sm6xxx
adreno driver magisk module for sm8150 or sm8xxx/sm7xxx/sm6xxx family running on R or newertested on sm8150 and sm8250WARNING : [email protected] has known crash issues when used with magiskWARNING: BLOBS HAS...

Personal advice/info
*(I person highly recommended 530 as they have been reported essentially flawless and I can testify that even the very latest 530 mod posted that reports itself as being a fake Andreno 730 (this allowing more freedom in certain games that limit options based on hardware) nevertheless I am but a user who hasn't tried everything however I did beginning installing the stock v530 and confirming that after uninstalling with Foxs MMM that!y original 502; drivers safely returned prior to reaching for the recent December 530 fake a730 running ever so beautifully on my device currently *
*********Step 3
After downloading the desired SM8150 driver, use Fox's MMM and select install module from storage then reboot and confirm the updated driver version via AIDA64, that it!
**********DOME!
