Hi all,
I have a mi 6 phone (sagit). I flashed Lineage 17.1 and root with magisk. When I connect a wifi, I get this error: no internet connection. Strangely, I have connection but some apps do not work with this error. I've tried to change network usage option to "treat as unmetered", and privacy option to "use device mac". But result is same. How I can solve this problem, it is very annoying. (I assume it would be related to router. Not all wifi's giving this error but I could not find a solution on router side as well.)
Best,

How to unblock it? I did a clean reinstallation and same result.

After I rooted, my phone won't connect to WiFi anymore.
I started with the Cyanogen Mod (6.0.2). When I try to connect to a WiFi network, it tries to connect and gets to the "obtaining ip address" message, and finally fails to connect.
I figured I should try a different mod and completely wipe the card. So, I did this via Rom Manager. I had it backup and wipe, then install Skyraider w/ Sense. The same problem persists.
Does anyone have any ideas how I can troubleshoot this problem? Thanks!
Dumb question, but you did re-select the WiFi network you want to connect to, and re-entered the password for that network (if one is required)?

Yeah I have. I've tested this with multiple WiFi networks on each mod. It always gets to the point of "obtaining ip address" which to my understanding means the password has worked. Either way, I'll always long press to forget the password, and re-connect. Even disabling the password on the router still causes the same issue.
Hi all,
With reference to this thread I found:
https://supportforums.motorola.com/message/311407
I've got the same problem as he does.
There is no way to set proxy URL and proxy port for Wi-Fi connections. I am trying to access a secure WiFi network at my work but it also uses a proxy to enable access to the outside networks. I can access internal websites but not the "regular" Internet sites.

Been trying to get my Defy working with the university's Wi-Fi but apparently Android doesn't natively support it (sorry if I've worded it wrongly, still new to the OS) due to the lack of iptables.
Would flashing any of the ROMs out there help with this issue? And if so, which?
I'm on the 2.21 firmware.
I've tried multiple apps on the market and also tried following connection instructions for eduroam with no luck.
Thanks
Hi friends
Searched the forum and tried the proposed solutions but nothing helped.
I'm trying connect to addhoc wifi on my desire HD os=2.2
I replaced the wpa_supplicant file with one of those that exists on the forum and
indeed now i see adhoc networks but the connection is not stable - it goes like connecting -> obtaining ip address -> connected -> disconnected
and so on in loop ... i verified that the ip is static and i even put gateway+mask+dns.
when trying to ping the target it even sometimes succeeds!
Tried with several different adhoc targets and tried both wpa_supplicant for ver 0.5 & ver 0.6
Please does someone can help ?
thanks

My phone is samsung galaxy GT - I 5503. I do too and obtainging IP address...
This question not yet solved
I have the same issue with my sgs2. I get no connection ever, only a constant "Obtaining IP address.."
I'd suggest resetting your router and forgetting the network and trying to reconnect. Also a static IP might work but as for finding any of your provider's info, that's up to you. Unfortunately, XDA doesn't even recognize my network (Sasktel) so I am having a very tough time with this!
most probably firewall problem , i had same problem with hotspot doing exactly as you discribe.
it can also happen by some custom Roms and don't happen with others ( firewall disabled ) .
Also lot of sense Roms have an issue with that exact wifi problem , not like AOSP Roms ,i don't know why
I only had this problem with a network called; 'eduroam', my schools' network. I solved it by recotting & changing the network security TLS/TTLS/EAP or somethinf like that.
Hi all,
we've just installed a radius server at work which works with a certificate on the client side, I'm trying so hard to get my galaxy to connect to the network but I'm having no luck.
I've tried installing the certificate but I'm not 100% sure its installed.
The security for this network displays on my phone as WEP so when I try connect it asks for a password
On my computer I don't get prompted with any password it just automatically connects.
Anyone experienced the same issue and managed to fix this?
Background: oneplus 5t with lineageos 16
Can detect WiFi signals but wouldn’t connect to my own WiFi but mobile hotspot & other people’s WiFi
what was on my screen after i entered the password:
connecting...
saved...
connecting...
saved...
after a while
Disabled
My other devices have no problem with WiFi connection
Super weird, isn't it? does anybody have any idea how to fix this?
Trials and errors:
1. Changed WiFi frequency: 2.4GHz & 5.0GHz
didn’t work
2. Changed WiFi name & password on both frequencies multiple times, i even made my wifi public with no password(2.4GHz & 5.0GHz), still my oneplus won't connect
didn’t work
3. Reset network settings on oneplus
didn’t work
4. Rebooted my router and phone
didn’t work
Maybe try a clean install. Backup then wipe : system, data, cache, dalvik. Then reflash. Titanium backup app is recommended.

I don't have this device myself but, you may want to see if you can locate/obtain some support and guidance within the following Official LineageOS 16.0 thread that's specific to your device.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3843026
Good Luck!

Is *your* wifi SSID hidden? If so, forget the connection on Lineage 16.
Re-add it:
When you add it back, *before* you enter the password and hit save, hit Advanced and make sure "Hidden network" is ticked.
