NFC to have some kind of "i was here" function?? - NFC Hacking

Hi guys,
first of all, I guess I might not be 100 percent correct here in this reddit, but I have literally no idea where to start. I have never worked with NFC before and have (at that moment) no idea about anything, but perhaps you might point me in the right direction or tell me if it makes sense to have a deeper look into that topic. Thanks for all of that in advance
I am looking for some kind of "i was here" function for any mobile phone. It should be as cheap as possible to install (thats why I thought of an NFC tag) and should be copyprotected (thats really important). So basically you go to that location and tap one the NFC tag and the phone knows "ah this guy was here". I know that you can copy some NFC tags and I want to avoid, that someone takes his phone, goes to that NFC tag, mirrors it and let his friends later tap on his phone, so that it looks like they have been there as well. (sorry for my english guys). Is this doable with NFC or is it the wrong direction?
Another idea was to create a QR code with a timestamp, which is then valid for 5 minutes or so. But this needs also a phone at the location and I am trying to avoid that (if possible). A simple printed QR code wouldnt help as well, because it can be photographed and then copied by whoever wants to.
Any other ideas perhaps?
Again thank you for your help
Kind regards

does anyone know if or could i have the start menu on the bottom? that would make it feel more like a PC.....
No.
Use Wisbar Advanced Desktop for that
What a wonderfully non-descriptive subject line.
It says absolutly nothing and gives no clue what the post is about.
It forces us to actualy open the message and read it to have any idea what the issue, question, or information actualy is.
A new low point has been reached.
To answer your question. Two ways come to mind to move the menu to the bottom so its more like a PC.
Ignoring the fact that, if this was actualy done, the softkeys would now be in the wrong place for the hardware keys and that this question doesn't have anything in particular to do with Windows Mobile 6.
1) turn the phone upside down
2) buy a PC and use the phone as a modem.
Those are the only ways I can think of.

Wow, what a wonderfully non-helpful post. It does not answer anything, and it forces us to read it just to figure that out.
A new low has been reached.
Next time u got nothin good to say, don't say anything at all.
@Zacch, ive been trolling these boards for a few months and havent seen anything of this nature. I'm not sure the phone can even support somethin like that, but if there was u would find it here.

deach01 does have a point, though. How many of us have time to actually read every single thread? I certainly don't. The only reason I read this one is because I was tempted to make a post similar to what deach01 said. If someone has a question, and they'd like to have people read the question and respond to it, PUT A REASONABLE SUBJECT on the message!
I can only think of two reasons why someone would post in a WM6 forum a subject that says "WM6" - and neither one of them is very complimentary.
The two biggest problems with public forums like this (as I see it) is A) People asking the same question over and over without looking through previous posts to see if it has already been answered, and B) People using vague or "catchy" subject lines, like "WM6" or "PLEASE GOD HELP ME!".
Well, now that I've broken one of my main rules for forum posting (i.e. keep on topic) I'll go back to work. I just wanted deach01 to know that he isn't alone in his frustration with this sort of nonsense.
Brian.
You actually can turn one of your softkeys to launch the start menu. Here's a few options:

Backing Up Everything

Apologies if this appears elsewhere but I have looked without success. If it does then a link to the solution would be great.
Basically I found this site a few weeks ago and since then have been tinkering with my phone. I've tried various roms, added different programs, played about with the settings and so on. Today I have finally got it just how I want it. It is overclocked to run quickly but safely. The today screen is perfect. It contains everything I need including my huge list of contacts. And my theme is spot-on. However usually in life when everything is right something big and hairy appears out of nowhere and dumps on you. Its got to the point where I panic every time I turn it on just in case it crashes and I need to start all over again.
My question therefore is if anyone knows of a utility (or can give detailed instructions) to completely back up the phone. Right down to the user settings, theme and contacts. If possible maybe even to create a rom image of my phone so that if it does ever crash I can reinstall the whole thing from one simple file. I assume this sort of thing must be possible because Kavana and Ricky produce such wonderful roms with various programs, etc pre-installed.
Can it be done? And if so - can it be done by an enthusiastic amateur or do you need to be a tech guru? I should add I don't mind paying if I need to buy a piece of commercial software to achieve this.
GS
Did you even bother to search google for "smartphone backup" ? The very first link that comes up, takes you right to the software you say you need. I apologize for being harsh, but I hate the lack of common sense...
An option
Not sure about the cooked 6.1 Roms. Maybe someone else might know or have tried.
http://www.spritesoftware.com/
I use this and it's well worth it.
if u just mean the saved registry values and what not u can always export the registry so that way if u have to hard reset the phone or if a new amazingly wowlike rom is released and u NEED to flash u can always import the registry values of the chomes and it'll be the way u left it (thats what I do for my myfaves and my programs)

No problem, and you are entitled to your opinion. however its replies like that which stop people making posts to forums like this. Everyone has to start somewhere, and one man's obvious "common sense" answer is another man's dilemma.
As for using google... yep I could have done that but google links to hundreds of pages, some owned by people trying to sell software which obviously means they won't be objective. Others have methods which could damage a phone and because I don't know the writers how do I know which methods to trust? Ergo I decided to come to site I know, with people whose technical knowhow I trust, and to search the forum and then ask them for advice. To me, that is common sense. Isn't that one of the reasons that places like this exist? So non techheads can ask guys like you for help?
No offence intended and, for what its worth, you are one of the guys whose advice on this forum has helped me countless times. So thank you for that no matter what. Without your posts I'd never have got this far in the first place! I mean that.
As for the other replies... thanks guys. I will look into the registry stuff. And I will certainly check out the software link. If I do find some info on google, I hope you folks will help me pick the best method to use and avoid bad advice.
Thanks again.
GS
Okay the Sprite software is perfect. And now I've checked it out maybe my question was a stupid one. Still, its nice to have a recommendation from an independent source. I've been burnt in the past by bad google advice.
Sorry if I've wasted anyone's time.

titanium opera panel for opera 10 help

so, I havent found this yet, so Im posting this asking for some help. Im trying to get showaco's opera panel for bookmarks to work with the new opera mobile 10 beta 3, for smartphones. finally got the panel to show after editing the default.plg for my screen res and manually putting it into my cpr. Editted the registry to read what I wanted it to on the default panel. Unfortunately I know little to nothing about writing mortscripts. Someone posted where the bookmarks are kept in opera 10 so I changed that in the mort and where my opera 10 exe. is in it. Seems my knowledge of mortscripts are nill, Im going to assume the mort is suppose to change the first page to the first bookmark and add a page for each bookmark. Unfortunately, I get the panel up and the registry editted, I run my editted mort and it just deletes the the page in the registry so I lose the panel as well.
so does anyone wanna help with this?
edit:
so, thinking again. why stop with opera 10? lets see if we can do this with opera mini. skyfire as well.
The bookmark files are no longer clear text with Opera 10
You would need to be able to read the new format of the bookmark files
so, i guess im going to need a lil more help than just someone who can write a mort huh? lol
I am trying to tackle this..
I would be happy with just using \program files\opera mobile 10\profile\datastorage\6\dials.dat to get the favorites. the problem is since there are non ascii characters in the file I have been unable to read the file into a variable for further manipulation.
Anyone know how to either replace all non ascii characters with spaces using mortscript or any other WM utility???
THANKS!
awesome
good to know someone else is on this as well. i have little to no experience with mort or programming so, its left me limited to only finding the "miracle" answer. after raidzero's post though, it did narrow my search. Ive come across a couple of sites that might help someone with more knowledge in writing something. a couple have an "expression" thats said to filter out non ascii characters. if someone is serious about this let me know and ill post the links. i do most of my searching and posting on my phone so, until we actually get something for our bookmarks that would be a fun task lol

Thanks for the info, the excel one seems like it might work, but doubtful. The rest are all for different languages, if I knew any C I would do it in that and make my whole panel just use native code instead of mortscript..
but I don't. so the search is still on. I know there is someone here that could make a program that just took a file and removed the non printable characters from it!
then it could be called int he mortscript and life could go on. I will check with JMZ, he knows how to do stuff like that I think.
ok, sounds good
alright. sounds like a plan. so if not "C" is there anything else you are familiar with other than mortscript? thatll help narrow my search

I do not know C, well, I can do maybe hello world. but that's about it. For something as simple as a string manipulation it can't be that hard, but you never know.
Maybe I might just download the bloodshed dev C++ IDE (free) and try my hand at it ....
edit: so bloodshed is gone
visual studio I guess, maybe my company has a license for it.
let me know
if not, mine might. also, i might be able to find one cheap. or i might even have a copy. my old man always makes me a copy of everything he buys and downloads so, I got a couple towers of cd's of software i havent even cracked open lol

This thread is dead. No reason to look.

unless you have an answer, thread is closed
ok, i might get some heat for this but i am prepared. this has nothing at all to do with smartphones, but i dont know of anybody else with the amount of computer working knowledge as you guys here at the xda, so i turn to you with my problem.
i was tying up a questionnaire on the web. it was taking a while, and i was tired, so i went to bed. in the morning, i finished it, but the website had logged me out, so i couldn't submit it. this is worth a big chunk of my grade, and needs to be done tomorrow.
so my question, does anybody know a way to copy multiple text boxes and paste them into an identical web page?
mods, if there is a problem with me posting an unrelated (yet necessary) question, please delete.
all i need is one person who knows the answer. anybody?????

Cant you just copy each text box one by one? Why do you need to copy them all at once?
Maybe I don't fully understand your question here but can't you just copy everything, paste it all into a document, sign back in to the website, and then copy it all from the doc and paste it into the website and submit it?
sitlet: because there are 400 text boxes. that is my last resort.
metal: i tried copying everything, but somehow, it doesnt even copy the text.
thank you both for replying. i honestly didnt think people would like me posting something so random...
What about opening up a new tab, signing in, and then going back to your first tab and submitting your stuff? I don't want you to lose all your hard work but it seems to me like that might work.
If anybody gets pissed off for you asking this, then they have a stick up their ass. You help out enough people here, I think it's more than acceptable for you to ask a question every now and again, regardless if it's on topic or not.
thank god for autocomplete! instead of copying 400 text boxes, i only need to copy 40, and google chrome autocompletes the rest. thanks for all your help. thread is sort of closed notw.

MetalHead: interesting and innovative solution, nice suggestion. I bet it would work.
OP: Forum members get annoyed when people arrogantly ask questions, demand answers, don't even attempt to perform a simple google search, and disregard the fact that a given question is off-topic. Your 'humble' approach invites others to help, especially as we have all been in a similar situation in the past.

Thanks! I was trying to think outside the box.
Ok, so thank you all for the help. Thankfully, google chrome auto completed about 80 percent of my work. I typed the questions and it remembered the answers. That was a recommendation. I love chrome. Eiter way, I got it all done, so i oficially call this thread closed.
Thread said not to look so I thought I would check it out. I've been meaning to try out chrome but I figure google already gets enough information from me. Having their web browser is just one step closer to them knowing absolutely everything I do lol

Also i want to include a calculator like page where lets your shopping in the supermarket and you want to keep track of how much you have spent, so you add the price of the items and add them, after you can save it, give it a date and where it was. then the app will keep this data to help you keep track of your spendings.
Please let me know what you think, and if anyone would like to try this with me, i would apreciate. My skills are designing. the photos attached its just a quick draft of what i have in mind.
