Best wireless charger

guys - is the pixel stand the best wireless charger to buy or a 3rd party works better? I have a spigen liquid air case

Basically any wireless charging pad that supports EPP "should" support the Pixel 4's fast charging @11W.

Looking for a simple puck, it appears Anker PowerWave (A2501) works and Anker lists their newer PowerWave II pad (A2519) as Pixel 4 compatible.

Yootech Qi chargers work great, I have the regular 14 dollar stand, 13 dollar pad and the 20 dollar stand with fan.
All of them fast charged my Pixel 4 with the OEM 18w Type-C PD charger or with a normal Type-C cable with a QuickCharge 2.0 or 3.0 wall charger.

Ditto. Having the same combo. So far working great. Simply just do the job.

Question, I have already used 3 wireless chargers but they all charge slowly. I am using the original charger from the pixel 4. Could this be the problem?

Wireless charging issues

My wife has a LETSCOM wireless charger, that she uses without issue with her Pixel 3. It works intermittently with my Pixel 5, and I can't work out why. Often, when I put my P5 on it, the charger flashes red/blue - according to the user guide, this is "overcurrent protection". If I reboot the P5 or unplug / replug in the charger, the charger stays blue, charges the P5 with no issues. More often than not, I get the "overcurrent" issue though. I've plugged the charger into my P5 charger, using the P5 USB cable. Any thoughts?

FWIW I have an Anker wireless 10W Fast-Charging PowerWave Pad and while it fast charges other phones (S10e, and other Samsung phones).
I tried it with the Pixel 5 and it says "charging slowly". A pity really as I think it's one of the best reasonable wireless chargers out there.

Are you using the same wall plug when trying different devices on it? For the Pixel 5 to fast charge, your wall plug needs to be 9V/2A at least 18W and the pad needs to support or to be within spec of the Qi 15W Extended Power Profile, which should then allow it to fast charge on your pad at 10W. If its under 18W wall plug or only say 5V/2A, then it wont fast wireless charge the Pixel 5 due to that 15W EPP afaik :good:
Also, the Pixel 5 has max 12W wireless charging, but most pads will usually drop down if its a 15W pad for example, from 15W to 10W to 7W, 5W - or thereabouts, so I'm not sure we'll get anything above 10W wireless unless its a specific 12W pad. From my understanding at least

ah I see, so this device is QuickCharge 3, however it does not support Qualcomm's Extended Power Profile by the looks of it, so it wont fast charge any of the Pixel devices, they require EPP standard and for 10W wireless charging on the pixel 5, it must be at least 18W 9V/2A + minimum 15W EPP.
The PowerWave Pad itself looks to only use 10W Fast Charging when using a 9V/2A wall plug (which is fine for Samsung devices using QC2 or 3), however, it won't fast charge the Pixel in the same way without being certified for Qualcomm Extended Power Profile. So your Pixel will only charge at 5W on it unfortunately.

On a related subject, I wanted a cheap/fast wireless charger for overnight bedside use. Yes, OP has their fancy model, which is quite nice. But I wanted something more generic and a lot cheaper. Found this 15W Qi Iniu Wireless Charger for about CAD$20 on Amazon:

It works very well on my OnePlus 9 Pro. My inline voltage/amperage meter measures about 1.5A at 12V, which gives 18W power input to the charger. At that rate, it would charge the phone from near zero to 100% in about four hours, plenty fast enough!
I use mine with an Anker QC 3.0 power supply. The original OnePlus adapter also works with it at the full 15-18W rate.

Which chargers other than the original stock and the Spigen one will charge the Pixel 6 Pro at full 30w?
I see there are 30w from Anker and even Amazon Basic, would these charge at full speed?

You just need a PD 3.0 (or higher version) compatible charger that can do 30w or more. The rest matters not, it's an industrial standard.

Part of me wants to be fancy and get the pixel stand 2nd gen, but in all honesty I don't think I'm that fussed about having all the exclusive features like gallery showing pictures etc so to be fair I may just get a standard wireless charger, but even then I'm not that fussed charging it wirelessly, I think I just like the concept of standing it up lol

Will these chargers work at 30w on the Pixel? I have a ton of these at this point, including a car charger. Would be cool if they worked correctly at full speed.

I bought an extra (already got one) original 45W charger. I know it's overkill and a rip off, but whatever. At least it will charge just about anything USB Type-C, right?

Don't know yet, but hopefully we can test it out soon...

30W and 50W WARP wireless charging is only for OnePlus phones. The OnePlus 30W wireless charger does max. Qi charge at 10W, and the OnePlus 50W wireless charger does max. Qi charge at 15W.
The Pixel phones are locked at max. Qi charge of 12W with any wireless charger other than Google's wireless charger.
That's no where near the 23W capability from Google wireless charger.

I believe Samsung chargers use the PD standard and should deliver a fast charge.

Any PD charger of at least 30W will give you the max charge speed. I doubt there will be a big difference using the 18W Pixel chargers from older phones. I'll be using a 10W wireless charging pad I got on Amazon a couple years ago that is connected to an 18W Pixel charger. It will charge overnight so how long it takes doesn't matter. I use this charger for my Pixelbook. It has 2 PD ports and a usb-a port. It will work for the new Pixels and does super fast charging for the new Samsung phones. A phone will only draw as much power as it is rated for so the 65W rating won't hurt your phone. It would charge 2 Pixel 6's at the same time at 30W.

I can't confirm, but I'm 99% sure they will not charge at 30w. OnePlus does 5V at 6A to get 30W. This is not a PD standard. At best you'll get 5V3A so 15W.

I have this charger https://zendure.com/products/superport-s3 it's a dual PD 65W charger and it still charges my Pixel6P at a ridiculously slow pace. Even with adaptive charging off. It's also a USB 3.0 charger that charges all my other devices very fast except for my P6P so there has to be something more to it IMHO.
EDIT: According to this article https://www.androidauthority.com/best-google-pixel-6-chargers-3041818/ There are 3 standards required USB 3.0, PD and PPS mine doesn't appear to have the latter so maybe that's why.

It can't be any PD 3.0. It has to support PPS protocol. Most charges that don't explicitly state that they support are not good (for P6/P6P 30W charging). For example this anker one is PD3.0 PPS one.

This is the right answer.
Make sure it supports PPS.
I got a GaN one with PPS support up to 65W for 30€ on Amazon.

It's nice the pixel 6 tells you whether your connection is a fast or slow charge. I picked up a $16 PD PPS charger at AMZN and the P6P shows it is fast charging. The AMZN listing showed it as iphone 13 series compatible but no mention of the Pixel 6 line.

Because to some people only Apple exists and marketing material MUST mention Apple. All other OEMs are an afterthought.
Luckily, all other OEMs also aren't Apple, hence they tend to prefer standards over proprietary crap, so 99% of the time you can assume that accessories will work anyway.

Any USB-C PD 30W charger should work. Check out Amazon. If you want you can get a PPS charger, but PPS is not necessary.
Please note the Pixel 6 only supports 22 watt fast charging.

My Warp Charge 30 bricks can only do 10W.

This one does have 30w but isn't PPS so don't think it'll actually hit the 22w since that's how Google's limited the charging.

To get the limited 22w charging that Google's put on the 6 Pro you do need PPS. The fastest PD will do is 18w.

It's not the prettiest solution, but seems to work well. No more cables to mess with. Just throw the phone on the pad and drive off. Probably not the fastest charger, but it's enough to run GPS and music, while still gaining charge, which is all I need.

Make sure the wireless charger supports the 15W Qi EPP (extended power profile) feature.
Otherwise you're stuck at 5W. Most no-name charging pads or cars with built-in wireless charging have been falling into this category but newer ones like the Tucson are 15W.
I'd like to know what the phone and Pixel Stand expect for 23W charging.

Received mine yesterday and was pleasantly surprised it came with a long, braided Type-C cable. I didn't actually read the description. There was a $6 coupon so I jumped on it. Will try to test and see how much current it outputs later this evening.

Considering I was at 36% the 4,148A charge current is pretty good. The highest I've seen with a PPS wall charge was 4400+.
I would've gained more in 28 minutes but 25 of it had YouTube running. Don't worry I pay attention to the road. The screen off %/h is right up there with my PPS wal charger.

I use my OnePlus 9 Pro car charger for my pixel and it does great!

This one? That would be interesting if it really charges well for you because everyone else I've seen has had issues with OnePlus charges because it's not even Power Delivery. This one in particular is either the Warp Charge 5V=6A max or old slow 5V=2A charging.

Not to mention warp charge is completely propriety, requires specific circuitry in the phone and a USB lead with non standard wiring.

Is this good for pixel 6 charging because it's 5v-3amp, I have it already but just want to confirm if it is good enough and will not effect battery health in long run since it is 15w while charging.

one thing I suggest, is don't skimp out on a car charger. many years ago, I messed up a few phones using crappy car chargers. the Zus Smart Charger is the best car charger I've ever used. the quality is incredible. its half price in the US at $16.99 (they should pay me or something!) -

it's not the fastest, it charges my 6Pro at like 1200mah or so...but the quality alone is worth it. I've been using it since 2017 and I've charged all my pixels and tablets with it.
this might be the best kept secret - just for the app, that anyone can use for free!
I just wanted to add;; their app is pretty cool, the car charger will show your Voltage level for your car battery and a ton of other things. Their app also connects to any OBD-II adapter via bluetooth and you can have a ton of cool telemetry appear on your phone (like revs, speed, engine temps etc , for those who like that sorta thing). and it will help you find your parked car if you forget where you parked ha! last year they were sending out free OBD_II adapters (but you can use any) and with their free app that anybody can use, you can use it to log your drives by mileage and a ton of other features. it's pretty slick !!
but if you want a crazy fast car charger, the anker that someone posted above is excellent - but in the car, which is usually really hot, I don't want anything fast charging. keeping things cool is what I'm all about//
