Best wireless charger - Google Pixel 4 Accessories

guys - is the pixel stand the best wireless charger to buy or a 3rd party works better? I have a spigen liquid air case
thx

Google Pixel Stand without doubt.
Or something like yootech 7.5W/10W/15W Fast Wireless Charger with Cooling Fan https://amazon.co.uk/dp/B07YSB4PZW/...olid=1XUOXJ13FSK5Y&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

Any more recommendations for balanced heat?

Basically any wireless charging pad that supports EPP "should" support the Pixel 4's fast charging @11W.

Looking for a simple puck, it appears Anker PowerWave (A2501) works and Anker lists their newer PowerWave II pad (A2519) as Pixel 4 compatible.

Yootech Qi chargers work great, I have the regular 14 dollar stand, 13 dollar pad and the 20 dollar stand with fan.
All of them fast charged my Pixel 4 with the OEM 18w Type-C PD charger or with a normal Type-C cable with a QuickCharge 2.0 or 3.0 wall charger.

Ditto. Having the same combo. So far working great. Simply just do the job.

Question, I have already used 3 wireless chargers but they all charge slowly. I am using the original charger from the pixel 4. Could this be the problem?

Thanks for the Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 information. :good:
Do you have the Anker 18W USB Wall Charger https://www.amazon.com/dp/B016LO4UTA/ in hand? I am trying to get hands-on validation vs theory.

Also, any good micro-usb cable will work also. Some old cables may or may not work.

That is correct. My mistake.
The point I was trying to make is that turbopower is not something specific to Motorola, just an industry standard in disguise.

Does anyone have a Quick Charge 2.0 wall charger in hand to confirm it charges with TurboPower? If yes, what is the model #?
I rather spend less money on a Quick Charge 2.0 wall charger than a 3.0 since the use case is to charge at the office. Ex. $10 for the SPN5864B

as i once wrote here https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5-plus/accessories/chargers-t3584554
this charger http://www.gearbest.com/iphone-cables-adapters/pp_322054.html does turbocharge the g5 plus without issues
I have multiple QC2 and 3 chargers around the house, and they all work fine
they always will because TurboCharge is just rebranded QuickCharge
SPN5864A = success!
I purchased a SPN5864A Wall Charger with a SKN6461A usb cable for $7.49 USD on ebay - LINK
"Motorola DROID Turbo 1.6 Amp Rapid Home Wall Charger SPN5864A - Super Fast Rapid Charging Charger - 15W of power - 1.6 Amp charger. Will charge Motorola devices with Adaptive TURBO Charging technology built in at an even faster rate! "
While the lock screen did not show the words fastcharge or turbocharge; AccuBattery did show the night and day difference. Screen caps of the old 463 millamps (mA) vs new SPN5864A charger 1989 mA pasted below.
Guess I'll go with the SPN5864B
Any Samsung charger for one of their last 3 or 4 flagships should work just fine. I literally have a bag of Samsung chargers from the S5 and S7 that all have the same ratings and work to Turbo charge the G5 Plus just fine. I use the Samsung charger at home and leave the Turbo Charger at the office.
I have a Asus Zenfone 2 18w charger (9v 2a, 5v 2a) and turbopower works perfectly when charging the G5 plus with it (got around 2400mah readings on Ampere app). Just in case anyone has one laying around, it's an option.
We use these around the house and for travel and they all work as you would expect.

I can add links to the chargers if someone wants, I'm just too lazy to do it right now.

Just ordered Xiaomi 10000 Power Bank 2 link --> https://www.gearbest.com/power-banks/pp_492337.html?vip=4087096 <-- and Turbo Charge works fine as well.
I bought a genuine SPN5864A on eBay for 7$. It has performed as intended since I received it.

Why can't I get Quick Charge working

So I have a qc3 outlet and battery from Anker neither will fast charge the phone using any of the cables including the og cable with the USB adapter provided or with the latest set of cables I purchased.

Right in the reviews people say they dont fast charge sometimes. One guy said to flip it 180 degrees and see if it works. You get what you pay for with these cheap cables.

Strange, I didn't think this phone supported the QC charging standard as it uses PD instead. And as far as I know, they're not cross compatible. But I've been wrong before...
i dont think these cable support fast charging for Pixel and only way to get fast charging is with using USB-C cable that has PD support.
I can't even get fast charging with the included Charger and Cable.....
Mine fast charged consistantly with included charger and PD charger I got off Amazon. Until February update. Now I'm only getting 480mah during charge. My daughter's Nexus 5x gets 1700mah during charge.

What you are missing is, that this phone is not compatible with QC standards,
Pixel using USB PD, just like on Nexus 6p and 5x, also like what being used by apple on iPhone X and their new macbook.
If you want quick charge pixel phone. Buy USB PD charger, and USB C to C cable that support PD as well, not QC charger.
Anker has several models supporting PD, but in term of price, Choetech or Aukey might be better option, am using choetech myself.
Or you can get nexus 6p/5x charger instead for just 7 bucks. It even inc USB C-C cable.
If you feel adventurous, you can even buy Apple 30W USB PD charger for 40 bucks, it will fast charge ypur pixel as well.
So is there a battery pack that would work with this and maybe an outlet. This is rather frustrating one of the reasons I got rid of op 5t which had amazing charging but proprietary. This is not as limited but still bs.

Actually USB PD in term of product cost and availability is even more BS. Its easier to buy dash charger , and it even cheaper.
If you need a battery pack that support PD, you can get one from ANKER, but the price is simply amazing. I think its around $100 for the battery pack.
As for outlet brick, you can get choetech for around $11 inc cable. Or find nexus charger for around $7. Aukey and Anker outlet would cost you around $15-30
QC is proprietary as well. PD is the only universal standard, but Qualcomm has invested too much money into QC to make the switch now. One day, Google is going to force PD compliance for all Android builds. Until then, be patient or accept the fact that early adapters like us will simply pay more until prices come down.

Hello everyone,
Has anyone tried a wireless charger for the Pixel 5 that works with a spingen-like TPU case on? Preferably one that can charge it within a couple of hours or so, from say 15%. I've seem a few on Amazon, 5w, 7w, 10w, 15w.
Please advise, and include links if possible.

I have the Anker PowerWave Alloy with an Anker PowerPort+ adapter. 15W fast wireless charging works great with a TPU case. Great charging solution although for really good ears, some soft ultra high pitched noise is hearable while charging. Nevertheless, I have this on my nightstand without being distorted. Only recommendation: The LED is really bright, I used LightDims to dim it down.

Thank you for your reply. Do you have a link? How quickly does it charge the pixel 5?
I'm following this post with interest.
I've tried an Ikea wireless charging pad and the pixel 5 estimated over 6 hours to full.
I've tried the Belkin boost charge 10w wireless pad thinking it's a bit faster and it's over 4 hours to full.
I am hoping that there is a faster wireless charging pad that works with the P5 out there.
The Anker PowerWave Alloy charges a full load with 15W in approx. 2 - 2,5h, but only if you use a QC3 or PD compatible charger.

Which chargers other than the original stock and the Spigen one will charge the Pixel 6 Pro at full 30w?
I see there are 30w from Anker and even Amazon Basic, would these charge at full speed?
You just need a PD 3.0 (or higher version) compatible charger that can do 30w or more. The rest matters not, it's an industrial standard.

Don't know yet, but hopefully we can test it out soon...
30W and 50W WARP wireless charging is only for OnePlus phones. The OnePlus 30W wireless charger does max. Qi charge at 10W, and the OnePlus 50W wireless charger does max. Qi charge at 15W.
The Pixel phones are locked at max. Qi charge of 12W with any wireless charger other than Google's wireless charger.
That's no where near the 23W capability from Google wireless charger.
See here: https://9to5google.com/2021/10/19/pixel-6-tidbits-plastic-top-wireless-charging/
Edit: I think I misread someone's question...my post was only directed towards wireless charging.
I believe Samsung chargers use the PD standard and should deliver a fast charge.
Any PD charger of at least 30W will give you the max charge speed. I doubt there will be a big difference using the 18W Pixel chargers from older phones. I'll be using a 10W wireless charging pad I got on Amazon a couple years ago that is connected to an 18W Pixel charger. It will charge overnight so how long it takes doesn't matter. I use this charger for my Pixelbook. It has 2 PD ports and a usb-a port. It will work for the new Pixels and does super fast charging for the new Samsung phones. A phone will only draw as much power as it is rated for so the 65W rating won't hurt your phone. It would charge 2 Pixel 6's at the same time at 30W.

I can't confirm, but I'm 99% sure they will not charge at 30w. OnePlus does 5V at 6A to get 30W. This is not a PD standard. At best you'll get 5V3A so 15W.

I have this charger https://zendure.com/products/superport-s3 it's a dual PD 65W charger and it still charges my Pixel6P at a ridiculously slow pace. Even with adaptive charging off. It's also a USB 3.0 charger that charges all my other devices very fast except for my P6P so there has to be something more to it IMHO.
EDIT: According to this article https://www.androidauthority.com/best-google-pixel-6-chargers-3041818/ There are 3 standards required USB 3.0, PD and PPS mine doesn't appear to have the latter so maybe that's why.
It can't be any PD 3.0. It has to support PPS protocol. Most charges that don't explicitly state that they support are not good (for P6/P6P 30W charging). For example this anker one is PD3.0 PPS one.

Make sure it supports PPS.
I got a GaN one with PPS support up to 65W for 30€ on Amazon.
It's nice the pixel 6 tells you whether your connection is a fast or slow charge. I picked up a $16 PD PPS charger at AMZN and the P6P shows it is fast charging. The AMZN listing showed it as iphone 13 series compatible but no mention of the Pixel 6 line.

Because to some people only Apple exists and marketing material MUST mention Apple. All other OEMs are an afterthought.
Luckily, all other OEMs also aren't Apple, hence they tend to prefer standards over proprietary crap, so 99% of the time you can assume that accessories will work anyway.

Any USB-C PD 30W charger should work. Check out Amazon. If you want you can get a PPS charger, but PPS is not necessary.

BTW, charging tests with the new 30w Google charger and the Google charger from my 2XL were almost identical anyway...if the phone only charges at 22W, then any charger over 22W is sufficient...
That's absolutely false. If you have some random Quick Charge or proprietary charger at 30W or higher, it will not charge at 22W. Might only charge at 10W, not even 15W or 18W.
My Warp Charge 30 bricks can only do 10W.
Charger must have at least PD support.

This one does have 30w but isn't PPS so don't think it'll actually hit the 22w since that's how Google's limited the charging.

To get the limited 22w charging that Google's put on the 6 Pro you do need PPS. The fastest PD will do is 18w.

It's not the prettiest solution, but seems to work well. No more cables to mess with. Just throw the phone on the pad and drive off. Probably not the fastest charger, but it's enough to run GPS and music, while still gaining charge, which is all I need.
Make sure the wireless charger supports the 15W Qi EPP (extended power profile) feature.
Otherwise you're stuck at 5W. Most no-name charging pads or cars with built-in wireless charging have been falling into this category but newer ones like the Tucson are 15W.
I'd like to know what the phone and Pixel Stand expect for 23W charging.
This Spigen is nice, name brand, high quality charger. It doesn't fit in one of my cars though, it's too short. https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B08PRZ815M/

Received mine yesterday and was pleasantly surprised it came with a long, braided Type-C cable. I didn't actually read the description. There was a $6 coupon so I jumped on it. Will try to test and see how much current it outputs later this evening.
Considering I was at 36% the 4,148A charge current is pretty good. The highest I've seen with a PPS wall charge was 4400+.
I would've gained more in 28 minutes but 25 of it had YouTube running. Don't worry I pay attention to the road. The screen off %/h is right up there with my PPS wal charger.

My Warp Charge 30 bricks can only do 10W.
Charger must have at least PD support.

Not to mention warp charge is completely propriety, requires specific circuitry in the phone and a USB lead with non standard wiring.
Is this good for pixel 6 charging because it's 5v-3amp, I have it already but just want to confirm if it is good enough and will not effect battery health in long run since it is 15w while charging.

one thing I suggest, is don't skimp out on a car charger. many years ago, I messed up a few phones using crappy car chargers. the Zus Smart Charger is the best car charger I've ever used. the quality is incredible. its half price in the US at $16.99 (they should pay me or something!) -

it's not the fastest, it charges my 6Pro at like 1200mah or so...but the quality alone is worth it. I've been using it since 2017 and I've charged all my pixels and tablets with it.
this might be the best kept secret - just for the app, that anyone can use for free!
I just wanted to add;; their app is pretty cool, the car charger will show your Voltage level for your car battery and a ton of other things. Their app also connects to any OBD-II adapter via bluetooth and you can have a ton of cool telemetry appear on your phone (like revs, speed, engine temps etc , for those who like that sorta thing). and it will help you find your parked car if you forget where you parked ha! last year they were sending out free OBD_II adapters (but you can use any) and with their free app that anybody can use, you can use it to log your drives by mileage and a ton of other features. it's pretty slick !!
but if you want a crazy fast car charger, the anker that someone posted above is excellent - but in the car, which is usually really hot, I don't want anything fast charging. keeping things cool is what I'm all about//
