I've also tried to re-partition with a PIT file

Defective flash perhaps? Luckily, I haven't had that kind of trouble with mine yet, but sadly that means I've got no solution either
Traffic hereabouts is quite low, so no need to "up". I guess many people visit every couple days only (like myself).

[Q] Are there any way to pull a .pit file?

I tried to search everywhere but couldn't find it.
Here is what happened. Got the note 2, used root injected stock odin file with "nand erase all"
After the reboot, went into recovery and wiped everything out.
Get into the phone, no baseband, no storage left for internal sd, no IMEI, so it's pretty much bricked.
I tried to use the boot.img file to retrieve the IMEI but it seems to me that the partition is messed up.
So I am trying to re-partition the phone with the pit file, but I could not find any on the web.
I do have a spare note 2, which my wife is currently using, and wondering if there'a way to pull the pit file from the phone so I can re-partition the phone and see if that'll work..
any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

[Q] Ext partition error. Unable to wipe data, install zips and restore backups

Okay, this error have been annoying me the whole day. I have a Xperia SL rooted with .55. Everything was working completely great. Today I just tryied to restore a backup with CWM recovery, and I got this error.
Code:
E: format_volume: make_extf4fs failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p12
I can't wipe data and I can't install any MOD or ROM properly because of that.
The most strange thing is that I don't even have a ext sd slot. I don't know why I'm getting this error.
I've been searching for fixes and all I got was completely random fixes from people that mostly doesn't even know how did they fix it. Even though, those doesn't work for me.
* I figured out that when I go on FORMAT /DATA, after that, I can wipe data, and I can (re)install the room again without any error. The problem is after I reboot the system, the error comes back, and I need to format /data if I want to install anything again without errors.
Try flash .ftf with flashtool. Wipe all.

Wrong section. Questions don't belong in the General Section. As for your problem, the best solution would be to just flash a stock ftf as mentioned by m1st3r1

I tryed that thousands of time already and no lucky. I wanna try to format(fat32) it using my computer. The problem is that my computer doesn't recognize my cellphone as a external hard drive. I can read the files inside but it's still being detected as a celphone. And like that I can't use my hard drive tools on it.

why you wanna try to format in PC? if u format (regularly) in PC , it will only format your sdcard (mnt\sdcard). the mmcblk0p12 is the \system partition. u need to somehow format it first, via fastboot, or try via cwm to format \system.
and give more explanation bout the condition of your phone.. ie: rom, kernel, locked/unlocked bootloader.
i too, once, messed up my \data partition (which it's mmcblk0p14). i fixed that by using fastboot

Like i said, it's a. 55 rooted with stock Rom. Boot loader unlock alowed: yes. I tryed every kind of fix in cwm already and nothing works.
Something I never tryed is via fastboot. How do I proceed with that?
Sorry, my android life just started yesterday, I don't have much knowledge
EDIT: Ok I solved. Actually it's not like a fix, it's just like putting a silver tape to handle the problem. For some reason I'm able to advance restore system backup via CWM recovery. Every time that I do that, my CWM recovery is fully functional again, i can install mod, rom, etc. But, when I reboot into system again, the problem comes back, but I can still use my android without any problems, I just can't install anything via CWM recovery. So basically, now, every time that I want to install something in recovery, first I need to advanced restore system, and than install the rom, mod or whatever. Than I backup again in case I want to install anything else in the future, to repeat the same procedure with the last backup.
I was just having some problems when I was trying to restore the system with a md5 missing error... something like that. I solved this problem by just creating a file.txt in the backup folder and than renamed it to nandroid.md5. Magically it was fixed.

[Q] Bootlooping SGH-i317 with apparent /efs problem

My SGH-i317 started bootlooping recently, and I've tried just about everything.
Unsuccessful fixes I have attempted multiple times include:
Factory reset, reset cache, reset dalvik cache
... every time before flashing a new ROM. Custom ROM, stock ROM. Doesn't matter.
Tried a few different kernels. No change.
KIES emergency firmware restore.
Download mode works. Custom recovery works.
When wiping partitions, CWM6 recovery indicates a problem with the /efs partition:
E: failed to mount /efs (invalid argument)
E: multi_csc: CanĀ“t mount /efs
Multi-csc applied failed.
To top it off, I derped my EFS and NANDROID backups, apparently.
Pretty much the only thing I haven't tried is ticking boxes in Odin. This thread seems to suggest using it to clear the EFS partition when all else fails, when encountering this error: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26827676&postcount=4512
I'm just worried about hardbricking it or further complicating the problem by messing with Odin, and hesitant because that thread refers to the i9000 and not the SGH-i317.
Does the EFS partition have anything to do with my bootloop issue? Does anyone have a suggestion as to how I might remedy either or both issues? TIA.
EFS is essentially the file system that tells your phone it's identity..
Without it...the phone runs...but it won't function...
If no EFS backup exists...the device dies..
You likely have an EFS copy on your backup..that you may be able to push via terminal command..
If no file exists...the phone is toast...g

problems with twrp

i've been breaking my head over this problem for 2 days now, i installed twrp to find out it couldn't make androids because a leftover folder from a deinstalled game prevented it. i tried to remove the folder but failed so i put the phone back to factory settings. now wafter reinstalling everything but the game that prevented it previously it still gives me this error. anyone know how i can get rid of the folder?( see picture)
I cant see how an old folder stops you making backups, it will be an SD card error or a partition error?
You might have to flash back to stock and then bump TWRP again.
As you can read in my op i already tried that also tried rzmoving it with rm -r as su, then i get a I/O error.
How did you restore to stock? The only way to get your desired results is to use cse flash with kdz or use the tot method.
Oh tought it was ok to do it trough pcsuite... Anyway is there a way to solve this trough terminal as well?
Ok so here's an update. I cse flashed a kdz. But the folder is still there, how is thzt even possible?? Any ideas how this can be solved? Could i use twrp to wipe the data partition?
so anyone who knows if i can use tarp to wipe the data partition?

Data recovery on A520F (failed to mount /data)

I would like to recover a video from the internal memory on my (unrooted) Android A5 (2017) [A520F]. I was able to flash TWRP and planning to root my device, so that I can use an external tool to scan the internal storage for deleted files. However, I can see in the TWRP log that it Failed to mount /data (invalid arguments). I'm not 100% sure, but I think that this is connected to the fact that I can't get any custom ROM installed. I used external tools like odin, flashed multiple custom ROMs, Lineage OS, I tried SuperSu, no-verity-no-encrypt, RMM-State Bypass etc etc. I can't get anything to boot. Most of the times my phone just freezes at the boot animation.
I'm not even able to format the /data partition (I wouldn't want to, because I'm trying to restore data, but still.) I also can't flash the official firmware with odin. It just fails in the end. The only way to get my phone back to it's normal state is try to flash the official firmware using odin (which fails), then flash A5-SM-A520F-TWRP-3.0.2.0.tar (AP)
My actual question is How can I get my deleted video back?
Should I use this guide? https://forum.xda-developers.com/sa...w-to/guide-root-install-twrp-samsung-t3747535
I don't encounter any of the three points listed under "How to know if you are locked".
I faced the same issue too, and the only way I could access /data with TWRP was changing the file system to EXT2 and then back to EXT4. This will delete all your data so probably your video too, but this is the only way to mount /data in TWRP. After mounting, you can try to install HadesROM or something that you can use.
