[SOLVED] Battery Drain. - Samsung Galaxy S20 / S20+ / S20 Ultra Questions &

Well. One week with s20+ 5g exynos. Arriving from Galaxy Note 9. Smart Switch used to move the apps and data from one phone to other.
My battery was dramatic. Difficulties to arrive at the end of the day or impossible. Any app consuming more than others.
Decided to factory reset. Everything. Start from zero.
Now perfect. Everything on: 5g, 120hz, always on, wifi, bluetooth, location, normal brightness. And at last i can arrive to my bed again with enough battery, as a normal phone. If phone is not used, there is no consumption, as expected.
Recommended to all the people with battery drain to factory rest and start from zero.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S3 Battery Drain

Hello Everyone,
I know this has been talked about before, but none of the so far solutions have worked.
So as the title says, my SGS3 battery barely lasts 6-8 hours.
The main causes of this I have seen is either due to the high battery consumption of the Andriod OS or Andriod System. Usually however, the Andriod OS takes up to 30-50% battery consumption.
And I know how everyone is saying pretty much turn everything off your phone besides the cell reception and you'll get your desired battery life.
This is not the case, I tried taking off wifi, 4G, all syncs, google now, and after already performing a factory reset once and a hard reset once, I pretty much only have whatsapp on my phone..
So my andriod version is 4.1.1. ANd after the first firmware reset, I am unable to even switch off google now and it gives me an error that there is an error with my network connection. Even if I switch on/off in any sequence or series all my communication methods.
Anyways, the main issue I have been seeing after looking at the battery consumption, the Andriod OS takes up all my battery consumption and when looking at the graph, I see that my phone is almost never going to sleep. I have seen other people's galaxy S3 and I've seen their away status and its pretty much more black than blue (black indicating that its been asleep).
So its clear that the case of my battery drain is due to my phone almost never going to sleep. And the result of that is due to the high levels of Andriod OS usage.
And I have see a bunch of other galaxy s3 battery consumptions, and both the Andriod OS and Andriod system are always well below 10%, with the highest consumption being the Screen of 23% usually.
And I know for a fact, its none of my downloaded apps as the phone is pretty much stock. And its not wifi or screen brightness or any of that, because when I had my iPhone 4, I pretty much had everything open, with my phone doing all kinds of stuff and it lasts all day.
As for my current phone, I barely sent one or two whatsapp messages a day before the phone dies out..
And to illustrate the even greater extent of the battery drain. During my break today, I walked to the telus store (about 10 minutes to get there), I have 15% charge. By the time I got to the store, I had 7%.
Anyways, after taking the phone to the telus store, they told me to do a firmware reset, which i Already did with no avail. Then they suggested to get a new battery, which I ordered from them. However, it is clearly not the issue.
They won't let me even send the phone for repairs until I actually try replacing the battery, which I will only get 2 weeks from now.
Any ideas on what to do?
I've pretty much tried everything posted on most websites on how to resolve this issue and its not something to do with my settings or any of that. Its the phone software (rather than hardware) that is giving me high battery usage.
On top of that, the lower part of my backside of my phone is warming up when I just use my phone for a few minutes to message. To be clear, the battery is on the middle half of the phone. So its probably my CPU warming up to the texting that I am doing that is already adding to the Andriod OS high usage for some reason.
The phone is only 4 months old. And resetting the firmware puts it back to version 4.1.1
Also, Just connecting the phone to wifi over night with 100% charge before I went to bed, I woke up 8 hours later with 70% charge.
Nothing open, caches cleared. Almost every useless app off.
Sorry, I would post photos of it, however, my phone is currently dead and I am fully charging it before performing a full firmware reset (hard reset)

LG G4 - Pitiful battery life

I recently purchased a LG G4 Back In July , on Verizon, switching over from A Galaxy Note 3 (Tmobile). Honestly I really really like the phone, but I think the battery life is pitiful for a $700 dollar "Flagship" phone. I mean not once has it ever lasted the full day. I had to buy a spare battery kit, with 2 batteries, and days when im out from 6am to late at night, I go through 2 batteries, and have to put the 3rd one in. I mean , this is simply unacceptable for a phone like this.
Also, the camera is excellent WHEN it works. A lot of times, it doesn't take the picture right away, there is a delay, and many times it falls out of focus. This is certainly not the high quality camera they advertised.
I am hoping there is a way to fix these 2 issues, mainly the battery issue though because it is awful in my opinion. Is there any tweaks or fixes for these issues?
You've barely given any relevant information other than how unhappy you are with the device, so I would suggest that you elaborate on that.
You could inform us if you're a heavy/light user, if you keep NFC, LTE, Bluetooth, Syncing, Wi-Fi, on during the whole day or maybe if you are used to 100% brightness display. Maybe you should check in your settings what is draining your battery and provide us the info.
I'm having a pretty good experience with the phone so far. It surely lasts a whole day with 3:30 to 4h SoT. I don't even need/have a spare battery.

One person having an issue doesn't mean it's not a great camera. You'll find it's likely still the best flagship camera of any OEM.
Battery use is so dependent on which apps you run, which mods you have, how often the screen is on, what brightness, signal strength, wifi, bluetooth, etc etc etc...
I came from a galaxy s3 and reckon the battery on g4 is awesome. I use it solidly on internet for 2 hrs a day (to and from work), check messages etc through the day, usually internet at lunch. And then evening time check facebook etc over WiFi infront of telly.
I unplug at 6am and plug in around 11pm with around 3% left. I bought a 2nd battery and only needed to use it twice. It has to be how you're using it.

13 hours on battery for me today and still 71% left. Light usage but it does illustrate that the battery life can be excellent.

of course, you can get excellent battery life on every smartphone - just put it in aeroplane mode..
I get MAX 3h of SOT time on my G4 - this is with fixed brightness at 65% (at all times) and only wifi and 3g enabled (NFC, bluetooth and everything else is turned off all the time)
to be fair I have yet to own a smartphone that lasts me more than 4h SOT..
the thing that annoys me the most is the broken knock code used to unlock the phone - it works 20% of the time at best
its a completely broken feature LG has not properly addressed since launch of the device (I am on V10e software)

There have been numerous firmware updates since. Have you ever performed a full factory reset after getting those updates ?
If the answer is no, then this is one potential reason for poor battery life. What you could try is to clear the system cache in recovery. Note, i said system cache not apps cache. Idea here is when updates come in there could be conflicts and it causes the system to work harder. clearing system cache might help, if it does not then the only option is a factory reset and then a manual install.
not restore. You install apps in batches, monitor, then install more and so on. You can restore contacts etc. but apps themselves will have to be reinstalled. Sometimes apps go rogue and have to be reinstalled. Its hard to tell which app is causing the issue. Otherwise you could just reinstall whatever app that seems to be taking up more than it should be.

What are you doing on your phone ? mention apps.
How do you access the net. How good is your signal. What are you doing when you access the net.

What types of shots are these. It can happen with portraits some times. It will focus on the background behind the person instead of the person and the face becomes softer and the background very sharp.
For this set focus little above the chest instead of the face. If they are wearing dark clothing this will cause other issues so focus on something else at equal distance that isn't dark.
Always check the shot at the pixel level soon after you took it. Rather than at the end of the day.

Just to clarify: I had everything turned on for those 13 hours - wifi/data/bluetooth/GPS. I also made 2 phone calls and did a bit of Chromecasting using the BT Sport app for a couple of hours. Or to put it another way, I didn't take any measures at all to preserve battery life.
I used to complain just like you're doing OP ( @dredmentia ) and fixed it all with a Zerolemon battery .
Is the phone bulky/no leather back/not easy to handle... , it sure is but if battery life is crucial then it gotta get fixed.
End my day anywhere between 7 to 13 hours of sot depending on WiFi or 4g and high CPU freqs, tried light usage and hit 3 days with 12 hours sot. Snap/insta/twit/fb/periscope/... Nothing kills this battery in a day.
When and if we get a kernel I'll move back to factory battery at least then I know I'm in control of how CPU works coz while optimizing the phone for wakelocks that's the only thing I have no control over...
As for now I'm just trying to burn thru this battery every day so I can charge it every night...
Last phone was a Z3 Sony and that really grabbed my attention with its battery life in stock form, almost too perfect, Almost.

Did someone seriously just ask me if I kept the brightness on the screen at 100%???? Obviously im not doing that, im not some idiot. I know the screen eats up most of the battery. I keep the brightness extremely low way under 50%, or on auto., The battery still last a short amount of time. Its not acceptable

Then maybe something is wrong with the phone. I got also 4-5hr SoT.
It can't be just 2hr.

Standby drain

When you sleep, does your phone sleep, or does it stay up all night and crunch 1s and 0s? Rate this thread to express how you deem the speed at which the LG G5's battery drains under standby conditions. A higher rating indicates that when the phone is not in use, the battery drains minimally.

If I lose signal for a long period of time I will take a battery hit. Otherwise, no problem.

Sometimes, over the course of an hr, it won't even lose a percent! Amazing, even compared to the Note 3, which was awesome battery-wise!

my H860's standby drain is abysmal.. It drops 15+% overnight (about 6-7hrs). How are you getting such a good standby time? I disabled Facebook (which was installed as a system app for some reason) but even then the best I got was 9% overnight..
Same problem here. Battery drain while phone is idle is absolutely horrid. Can't for the life of me figure it out. Under settings in battery usage, the only 2 things I show with significant battery drain is screen on and phone idle.
Bad signal (1 bar or less) can severely affect idle battery drain. The always on display does take some battery. Try turning it off to see if it makes a difference.
Yeah where we live is great signaland one of the first things I did was turn off the always on feature. I still have the drain.

No idea!!! I'll keep an eye on drain again...but I gotta say, I found it to be great! I'm almost always on Wifi, not sure if that has anything to do with it.
I too have the worst battery life I've ever had on a brand new device. I don't know what else to do but sell the phone.

Was doing some digging on this exact issue. I was getting a ridiculous battery drain from phone idle, which I didn't have for the first week of owning the phone. For the life of me I could not figure out what I changed, but I think I may have found a solution. I have the AT&T H820 and it turns out other devices of the AT&T variant (galaxy s6) had terrible battery drain with Enhanced LTE selected. I have just disabled it and will report back in a day or two to report the results.

Thank you for the feedback on this. I have the Verizon edition and I've been looking for that specific setting since you mentioned it. I don't see it in my menu. I'd imagine you went to the mobile data menu under some and it was in the somewhere?

Enhanced LTE is AT&T's version of HD voice so maybe try turning that off.

I have TMobile varient. Yesterday, I tried selecting 'Restrict background data' option (Settings > Mobile Data > Top right menu and select 'restrict background data' checkbox). So far its been better than yesterday.
I use Shutapp to end running apps and turn the phone over so the light sensor is covered and the always on display shuts off. Battery seems on par with my G3 which is the same size battery.
I have no stand by drain on my AT&T version. I have aod off and this is on my nightstand. So Wi-Fi enabled. Location and Bluetooth off. I charge to 100% then restart the phone and then unplug for the rest of the night. I will wake up anywhere from 6 to 10 hours later. Weekdays and weekends vary. But I will always wake up at either 99% or 100% my stand by works flawlessly. Just my process.
my colleague has this and his battery drains while on stand by. not the best!
Inconsistent but normally good
In the second and third days that I had this phone it seemed to lose 1 % per hour which I feel is pretty good considering I had always listening for "ok google" and the fingerprint scanner on. I have no sim in the device yet. The first night it went from 80 to 2% on standby though that could have been just because it was the first night. I don't have always on display on.
I have an international version (H860) on AT&T network for about a week now. AOD is off, Wi-Fi is on, GPS is on Battery Saving mode. Every night, the drain is about 20%. Battery usage shows Android OS and Phone Idle being the top 2 uses. I reset the phone once already. The phone is set up the same as my G4, same set of apps. The G4 has only about 1% drain overnight. Can this be a defective unit?

I've been losing around 3 % to standby drain over my typical heavy 9 hour sleep (Rx induced)!
I've had mine since last Tuesday.
5" Pixel version.
Battery doesn't seem to go down unless I really get on device for a couple minutes.

Last night my pixel went down 2% over about 7.5 hrs so the standby time is pretty good.
My Pixel actually dozed for it's first night. We'll have to see if it keeps going. My N5x gave up dozing a long time ago.
The doze mode has been great for me so far. Standby time is better than any other android phone I've used.

Battery has been pretty good for me so far. Seems to be settling in with optimization after a few days. Dropped 0% overnight last night which is awesome.
GSAM Monitor is saying my average is 19 hrs on, 4.5 hours of screen on time usage, 1-2 hours of screen off usage like phone calls, music.
EDIT: I also have pretty crappy signal at work.
Stand by time hasn't been a real problem for awhile. My Nexus 5 on KitKat and Lollipop(both before Doze) and only a 2,300mAh would only drop 2-3% over 8 hours. It's usage time that really matters.
Mine dropped about 10% the first night (Mon 24th), but I do live in an area that has poor reception. Have to place phone next to window just to get text and calls. If I go outside I may get LTE at 1 or 2 bars. Overall though battery hasn't been an issue and I love the rapid charging.

I'm "blessed" with an extremely good body clock, which means I wake up at 6.30 every day without any alarm... Even at the weekends

Using Accubattery to measure screen off battery drain I am typically between 75-85ma. Has anyone else measured their standby power consumption, curious what other values are as this seems high to me.

Tested it overnight with and without bluetooth on, got it down to 40ma without bluetooth, averaged 70ma with bluetooth on overnight. Also got to test a Note 4 under the same conditions though without a SIM card. The Note 4 was using 11ma without bluetooth and 18ma with bluetooth on. Both phones connected to the same WIFI the whole time. May have to do a full reset on the Pixel as the standby power consumption is definitely out of hand.
Standby
My Google Pixel currently drains an excessive amount of battery even on standby, however thanks to quick charging its up and ready in 15 minutes. OS seems to be heavy usage of battery at the moment.

While I still think the Samsung will have slightly better standby drain, this isn't a good test. You cannot compare a phone with a cell signal to one without. The biggest battery drain on a phone is typically cell signal.
If you pulled the sim card out of the pixel and let the phones sit side by side overnight, that would be something.

I agree, this test is not a great comparison. The Note 4 did still have cell signal as they do connect to service without a sim card, but likely it is not the same as having proper service (LTE). I was trying to get the lowest draw possible on the Pixel and managed to average 29ma in airplane mode. This is the lowest I have got yet with the device which although is decently low draw is still abysmal considering that it had no apps running and no radios active. What is even more interesting to me is that google claims that the phone has 456 hours of standby time which suggests radios active (at least cell), unless my math is wrong this works out to a standby drain of 6ma which at least on my phone seems to be completely unattainable even with radios off.
I have looked around the forums but haven't seen anyone else posting power consumption information with the regular or XL pixel so I have no idea if this is unique to my phone or just standard with the Pixel. I haven't yet factory reset the phone but that would have been next, except that I am exchanging the device due to an unrelated issue. I guess I will see how the next one stacks up in this regard.
Thought I would post an update on my findings. After getting a new device and still having issues I have an answer and partial solution to my terrible standby drain. The culprit in my case is LTE. I am on FIDO in Canada which does use Band 4 though I am not certain if that is being used in my area. Anyways if I set my preferred network type to 3g my standby drain improves dramatically as the device idles around 10-15ma in my pocket and overnight is more like 6ma which is phenomenal. As soon as I set my network back to LTE my standby drain is 70-90ma and at best 40ma overnight if I'm lucky. My cell service for 3g and LTE are both good (green in battery stats). I know LTE requires more power however I would expect that power requirement to drop significantly when connected to WIFI networks which in my case doesnt seem to matter at all. At least now my battery life is awesome as others have reported. However connecting to 3g when away from home is a bummer and it's not really practical to manually change my preferred network every time I leave or enter a WIFI area. Looking at a way to automate this switch but on Android 5+ it seems that changing these settings via app are very locked down. I would also like to point out that my previous phones never seemed to suffer from this issue which only further makes me suspect that there is an unresolved underlying issue here (maybe related to the Band 4 issues being reported?). It sure is nice to open my battery stats window now and see some horizontal line segments instead of the linear march towards zero.

I am seriously tempted to get a Pixel 5 instead, which I am willing to sacrifice the performance + 120Hz because I'm just another daily user.

I have the 901e and updated to the Vietnamese firmware avdf running very similar set up to you getting 7 - 9h sot
Try removing that optimiser and using the doze setting in galaxy max hz
Also 96hz works with power saving on
Get galaxy app booster it's with in good guardians (can just download the apks online if you can't find it in the galaxy store) from what I've read it wipes dalvik cache

No heat at all, also in battery powersave settings you can limit the CPU to 70% (in case you didn't know already) from what I can see in adb it's on even when powersaving isnt
Mine is an SM-S9010. I rooted it and did some work on it. I turned off cores, underclocked it, turned off adaptive battery and so on. With all the things I tried, the SOT differs from charge to charge. I stopped even gaming altogether on it. I managed to get 30 more minutes out of it.

Now I've got Battery Guru installed and this thing monitors everything I need, plus it has a lot of stuff embedded in it, like the Quick Doze mod, power saver and Sensors Off with the screen off, etc. I've got the Powersaver on after the screen turns off and Data saver, and the idle drain sits at ~1%/hour. It goes at 0.7-1%/h, during the night unless the Play Services start spasming again, and they tend to do that a lot. And before having someone suggest a fix, please don't. I tried them all. They're just temporary solving the issue.
So yeah, there's no way in HELL someone can convince me they get 7-9h SOT cause that's just silly and exaggerated lying for a reason I don't understand.

After cutting off the 10-15% at which I plug in the phone, I'm left with ~60% of actual battery for the SOT. That means ~2150mAh. The battery is simply too small to be capable of anything more.

And the longer you use it in a smaller time frame, the better the results. Then the moment you start scrolling and loading and loading things on Reddit or TikTok for example, or you browse the web, switch between apps and so on, things also change. The CPU will jump from a range of frequencies and produce more heat. The battery will share some of that heat and thing will get hot relatively hot soon, especially if it's hot outside. That translates into even poorer battery performance cause the hotter it gets, the worse the active drain is. And also, the lower the percentage, the worse the drain is too, I have noticed since I got this piece of crap phone. But yeah, if outside it's hot AF, the phone will be hot too. Today here where I live it's 30C right now. Using this thing and doing nothing intensive on it still gets it hot. It's too small to dissipate heat properly. Those saying "not heat here" etc, it's not possible unless you live in a slightly colder climate.

Sorry to disappoint but I'm not being silly nor lying, I have absolutely no reason too i have nothing to prove or anyone to impress by talking s***, I'd be here doing the same if my battery was rubbish which it was to start with. I don't get any over heating, phone drains roughly 3% over night and barely get any google services wakelocks so you can believe what you want i really dont care what you think I'll chill here happily with a mint running s22 with plenty of sot

It's fine. It's like a described it though. A continuous run of usage with with barely any stops or very short ones, will offer better stats. That's "very light" usage. Anyone complaining about battery life is doing a lot more on their phone just like me, the one who created this thread and the majority of S22 owners, with both variants of the phones.
Sorry if I offended you. You wouldn't be able to get the same SOT with our usage though, not even close, especially of you're 100% on cellular data.

Thank you for this. Probably the most honest review about S22's battery. Like you I tried everything under the sun (except the rooting and underclocking). This phone is just disappointing. I could relate to every single line as I read through your post. Weirdly, I'm just happy to know that Im not the only one feeling this way about this "flagship" device.
I'm coming from a very old OnePlus6 which STILL works perfectly fine on a custom Android with close to 4-5 hours of SOT in a full days usage. I charge it only in the night, sometimes it even makes it through the night..
I thought S22 with a higher battery (and NEW) will at least give 6 hours SOT but man was I wrong!!
So initially I used Smart Switch, and I got a terrible SOT of 1-2.
I did factory reset and manually set up the phone and I got about 3 hours of SOT.
I went through the debloating process and now I'm 3-4 hours of SOT.. Still that is so horrible for a flagship!
Its such a let down honestly! I get a flagship and paid so much money and this is such a huge issue! And I hate the font size on the notifications/panel.. it is just not proportional to the overall system font size! And not to forget, the phones takes about 1-1.5 hours to charge. Such a pain when are used to the OnePlus DashCharge which blazes through. Fast Charge on Samsung is such a shame
S22 is seeming to be a mistake. I'm considering swapping this for a Oneplus 10 Pro OR an iPhone 13! You made a similar switch? Looking for advice on fixing this brick of a phone or recommendation on alternate device.
Maybe custom ROMs or Updates in the future will make S22 better?

I doubt anything will improve things the way we want. Unless we see a complete revamp of how apps use the CPU, which is a deep optimization process, that should done by Google all the way to a system level, things simply cannot improve in such a drastic way. After doing some math, a 1% idle drain or 15-20% active drain is something relatively decent because it's based on the battery inside the phone. The real capacity of the 3700mAh is actually 3590. So it's even worse than it appears. We've got to accept in the end that Samsung ****ed up this year with the smaller phone, despite the sales numbers.
Anyway, I also had a OP6 which I really liked until the software went completely 180 and disappointed me with that insane redesign which went against everything OP started with.
Anyway, back to the S22. I'm not really bothered by the charging speed. However, considering the terrible battery life, a much quicker charging speed was rudimentary to compensate for the other thing. Samsung doesn't give a **** though. So long as business gets better.
The bottom line is, and I reached to this conclusion the hard way cause I can say that I lost a lot of money in market value in the past 3 years, is that in the Android world, if you want a flagship device with very good battery life, you've got to go big. Otherwise you'll be disappointed. On iOS, you can get that with the smaller phones. Choosing the bigger phone in that situation, will get you the best battery life on the entire phone market. Android needs more mAh to compensate for sudden idle drain, services that have seizures out of the blue and the regular active drain due to poor app optimization. The bigger the battery, the more mAh for those unexpected things to eat and the less you'll have to worry about the battery life, as long as it easily gets you through the day. But if you want to keep using a smaller phone, something that actually fits in your pocket, then I'm afraid only Apple can offer you the best. iOS is in a completely different league in terms of optimization. Not to mention how perfectly smooth everything in every corner is. That is the true definition of buttery smooth no matter the action you do and no matter the app you're using. On Android frame drops/stutters are a regular and no matter the phone I used, they've always been there, despite the claims. I guess I've got more sensitive eyes. Even so, on iOS, those frame drops are so rare, that you really get a truly delightful experience 99% of the times. Not to mention that the 120Hz experience on iOS is actually smoother than the 120Hz on Android, if that makes any sense. All the polish the OS receives is very noticeable on that 120Hz panel. The way the OS works is what you need to get used to, the restrictions and so on. If you can get past that, you're good to go.
So if you want to throw away the S22, thing that I wouldn't blame you for, a 13 Pro is what I'd suggest to you, if you wanna keep using a small phone but if you want the best of the best, go with the Max brick version.
I'm personally waiting for the 14 lineup and I'm most confident I'm gonna get the 14 Pro Max. I want to never worry about battery life. For me it's 2 big compromises I have to accept: iOS and the phone size.

Ha Ha! I don't believe in miracles. A company that decides to address the issue by creating a mod or something to replace the back glass with something else that fits a bigger battery inside. That is a miracle to me
Thing is, the more you try to optimize this phone, the worse it gets
This is also the case for the adaptive battery that samsung has put on.
Sure you'll get good sot on any phone if you're locked in an app at low brightness for few hours that just scrolls through or plays videos.
But as soon as you start auto killing running apps and do multitasking with them after that, you'll barely get 2-3 hours sot.
Best I got from the exynos version on this was about 4.5 hours SOT with all settings I need enabled and gw4 conected to it.
But the average days (phone outside on higher brightness) are way below that. Using the doze mode when screen off, fingerprint disabled when screen is off, most of the bloatware /junk apps disabled or put in deep sleeping mode. (no root). I keep my phone at 85% and recharge when Im home/office whenever possible
Iphone really naied this down since the by just freezing the active proceeses for the standby adavantage.
The cpu doesnt really have to do anything when you relaunch them.
Im quite surprised android cannot do the same in 2022
Such a shame, this would've been the perfect compact phone if the software was done right on it.
But where is the $$$ for google/samsung for tracking everything you do ?
No matter what settings you try to disable, the phone constantly scans for gps/wifi/bluetooth devices (google's gms even claims this is for covid purposes in their TOS now)

I hate to say goodbye, but I'll be going back to Pixel 5, and hoping S24, or whatever, will be a more optimized S22, keeping the compact phone size.
I use a snapdragon gen 1 s22. The battery is not terrible but also not great. An SOT of 3hrs for 3 days standby is what i get with max hz app installed, power saving on, debloated, sync on for two mailboxes. I get more SOT with less standyby time( if i watch youtube videos). I think its a nice balance for a compact phone. I had the pixel 6 before this but it was too heavy and big though the battery was slightly better.

Im a pixel fanboy. But recently with the bugs, poor call quality and the random battery drains i chose to move on. I hate the material you in android 12. Atleast i need an option to switch it off. I cant root as i need to use bank apps in my phone.

Yup I got one myself now. Only downside is the under display firing top speaker which makes the volume thin and muffled. Other than that, I'm very happy with the phone!
And for god-knows-what reason, Pixel 5 rocks a 4080 mAh battery. Wonder why tf S22 weighs heavier and unable to carry a bigger battery. Bells and whistles, but neglected this basic need of a phone

If im not wrong the pixel 5 is made of aluminum(sides and back) but the S22 is made of glass(back). Thats the reason for the weight difference.

That is true. But SN8Gen1 is too much to handle for a reduced battery size. I'll go to Samsung shop to see how S22+ feels in the hand, as the battery size is bigger. But for now I'll stick with Pixel 5.
