Long story short, buy this now! I'll answer questions when I can. Here are some pics of it in the phone in the mean time! Sorry about quality!
How does it feel in the hand? I prefer hybrid cases but if this doesn't have that rubbery, grimy feel that hold onto pocket lint I think I might bite the bullet and get it. It would be my third case do I want to make sure I'll like it before I buy it.
Also is the gray bar near the bottom a kick-stand?
Looks good

Nah, that's something that they sell separately. It's a kickstand.

Great photos thanks. Compared to the Axon 7's included clear TPU case, do you believe this Spigen offers superior drop cushioning on the corners? Does the front lip offer greater stand off distance as well?
I'm starting to believe I'll have to run my Axon without screen protection, since every tempered glass protector I've seen has the halo issue...a large front lip on the case would be ideal.
Hey everyone sorry for the late reply! Been very busy.
I'd say it adds about...3 to 5 (5 for margin of error) millimeters to each side, and it does add a little weight. But, honestly the weights nothing really to write home about. If anything it's a sign of quality to me. I also like how much better it feels in hand compared to the stock case, this case is not at all glossy except for the carbon fiber parts and has a matte finish. The power button is textured on this case which is nice because I'm not use to the power button being below the volume buttons so I'm constantly locking my screen when I intend to use the volume. Why they ever decided that for this phone is besides me.
This case fits this phone like a ****ing glove. It's very tight. It's definitely more difficult to take off then the stock case that came with the phone and definitely fits it so much better too. I'd be confident dropping this phone FROM POCKET HEIGHT without anything detrimental happening to the phone. It also has about a...2? Millimeter lip that goes over the top of the phone as well.
I also added the kickstand as someone already mentioned. It did not come with the case.
Are the buttons a littler harder to push than the stock case? I feel like I'm always pushing them without even trying.
The Spigen case feels tight and sturdy so it offers better protection over the clear ones that came with the phone. Also, the Spigen adds bit more weight if you like that, but my pinky gets sore/tired after holding it for minutes. Maybe I am not use to it? These are my initial impressions.
Can we get a belt clip/clam case that works with it? I don't pocket my phones. Thanks!

I purchased the new Spigen case as well and it provides substantially better protection than the included clear case. The front lip is taller and the corners are thicker.
For reference I wear XL gloves and I find the phone still feels good in the hand with the case. I still prefer the bare feel and size of the phone but I'm not willing to risk that. And its significantly more comfortable to hold than my old Note 4 and its relatively thin case. It's also not a lint magnet but that comes at the cost of some grippiness. The included case is tackier.
I could do without the faux carbon fiber - not a fan of anything faux - but it looks better in person than I thought it would. If you can get it for $13 vs full price, I think its well worth it - protective without being completely overwhelming.
One question for me, is it easy to use the fingerprint scanner with this case?
One issue i have with the included case with the axon 7 is that its a pit hard to get my finger inside the cut out to hit the scanner... I have large fingers too

I find the Spigen case works well with the fingerprint sensor. I actually think it's easier to find and scan the sensor with the case guiding my finger, as the border of the case around the sensor has a nice slope towards the scanner.
I got mine a few weeks ago... great case. Feels way nicer than the stock one. I didn't like the rubber texture at first but its grown on me.
What I've noticed:
The indentation for the fingerprint scanner is a bit deep and I'm using the tip of my finger more than I was before. As a result, it didn't pick up every time. Re-scanning my fingers for it fixed the problem
It's become harder to find the NFC chip on the phone. My bluetooth headphones have an NFC tag to aid pairing. It seems to be harder to find the tag now.
Buttons on the side feel way nicer - it offers more resistance than without a case (too little resistance) or the stock one (still not enough)
Too bad i can't buy it at my country... Malaysia. Have to buy from ebay and shipping fees is way too expensive.

This is one of the outstanding features I've found with TPU: slick enough to effortlessly slide in and out of pocket, but slightly tacky/grippy in the hand especially if warm or humid. It's so grippy that I don't have to wrap my fingers around the sides of the phone: I can balance the back of the Axon 7 on my fingertips one handed, which allows me to reach the entire screen area with my thumb.
Maybe I could put some grip tape on the back of the Spigen case.
Honestly guys I received my Axon 7 yesterday with the Spigen case and I hate it. The power button and volume buttons are really sharp therefore it's uncomfortable to hold and because my right index finger is always on it when I hold my phone it hurts. You can see my skin dust on it lol and I'm 17. The charging port is also very sharp. I used the stock case and it's so much more smoother and easier to hold but I do need the spigen case. I might smoothen out the buttons or something.
I just got my Spigen case a few days ago. I had it for my OnePlus 2 and loved it, but this one is even better.
It barely adds width to the phone and feels great. Not slippery, but no rough edges. The power button has a notched texture so it's easy to tell it apart from the volume buttons. The camera/fingerprint/flash have perfectly sized cutouts.
This thing will definitely protect it from a pocket level drop. It's also easy to remove in case you want to swap a microSD/SIM or clean the phone.
By far the best case that will be made for this phone.
I just received this case and it so much better than the one that comes with the axon 7. I had the case that has a kickstand on my axon linked below. Let me tell you the spigen is better for drops it's actually thicker than what I thought. Also it has more lip protection than the kickstand case. This is premium feeling case that offer some nice protection.

Agree with you 100%. I had the kickstand case and there is a world of difference between it and the Spigen case.
So my MNML case got shipped today, but I just seen a post on reddit about the case not covering the camera bump on the Pixel 2 XL.

I can't guarantee that the pics are of the final product, but I thought I'd give a heads up to anyone else that has ordered the case.
The product discription says:
PERFECT CUTOUTS - The case fits your Pixel 2 XL like a glove, exposed buttons and ports are perfectly cut giving you full easy access. The camera cutout has a raised bump to protect your camera on surfaces. The front of the case has a raised rim to protect your phone’s screen from scratching.

I've emailed MNML for confirmation.
Will be disappointed if it doesn't have a raised bump on the case. I will be returning it myself.

Keep us updated when you hear from them.. Indeed that will be a disappointment..
This is the only reason why i did not order mnml this time. Loved it on my pixel xl. if i want to set my phone done on a metal surface or stone then i am worried that the camera could crack or that the housing around it would scratch.... Still searching for a thin black case that isnt flimsy like TPU. One like this or one that is maybe made similar to the original Nexus case for the 6P. That wasnt very thin , but it was made from a more sturdy and rigid rubber. Also FYI, the peel case and the mnml case are the exact same case. I went through this last year on the Pixel XL 1.
thanks for this.... Had it in my Amazon cart waiting for reviews of it. Gonna hold off and wait to see what Diztronic brings
The person made an update to the post
"EDIT: Ok, so apparently the bump around the fingerprint sensor is large enough that the camera bump doesn't touch the surface. It's not ideal but at least it won't touch on flat surfaces."
Nope no raised bumped around the camera lens. Lens and case are almost flush. Just got mine. Pics attached. Buttons are a lil hard to get to. Case side panel is too flushed to the buttons, if that makes any sense. Also its pretty slippery compared to the actual back of the 2 XL.
https://imgur.com/a/psSRB
It will do for now, for me until Peel ships there's and I can compare.
Well crap. I ordered 2 a long time ago and they just shipped as well. I'm not liking the pictures and what I'm seeing. Guess I'll just keep the case I have on it now
So MNML got back to me.
"When you place the case backside down the raised fingerprint sensor will protect the camera."
Pretty disappointed.
How does the case grip feel in hand? Less, equal, or more grippy than bare phone?

By looking at the back, that's what I thought might be going on. Seems a little questionable though.
Except nobody holds the phone in a way that the bottom lands first!
People hold the phone by the middle or the bottom and often than not the top camera part lands on the surface first. But that's not the issue here, the issue is that you shouldn't have to be concerned with how your phone lands after putting on a case!
A truly bold move by them when the market is flooded with $2 cases from AliExpress without this issue. Most people will opt for a little thicker case from Spigen or whoever to protect the best aspect of pixel phones - the camera.
Fix your ****.
My biggest issue was that the mnml case caused significant scratching on the base of my pixel XL first gen. It made little specks through the black and was showing silver. I think it is because the case want tight like a traditional tpu case that stretches. I'm currently using one of the China cases. I needed something to hold me over until I can find a thin case that works.
Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
I've had the MNML case on my xl for 6 months with no issues of scratching at all. As far as the xl2's MNML case and lack of hump around camera; I'm ok with the hump being around the fp sensor. Interesting as to why they didn't choose to"hump" the camera tho.. possibly aesthetics and feel?
Got mine in yesterday. I'll be returning them. While they are thin and sleek it doesn't protect anything and as prior mention. It doesn't have a protection around the camera.
I love the thinness of this case, hate that there isn't a completely clear option. Has anyone found something like this? Ultra thin case (not raised on the front bezel) that's completely clear?
I've been using this case since Saturday and, while I love the minimal feel, I don't think I'll be using it long term. The button cutouts are precise, which would normally be a good thing. However, in this case the case is slightly thicker than the buttons protrude from the phone so they actually become recessed. The precise cutout makes it even harder then to discern which buttons you're feeling and pressing, at least for me, requires using my fingernail. Totally kills it for me.
I reached out to Peel and they said there case will have protection for the camera.

While I did just get it tonight, I'm in the other camp.... I actually love it. It's exactly what I want, a skin with no edges to deal with.
I know all of the complaints when I ordered it, so I guess I knew I would like it.
I pre-ordered 2 of these cases weeks ago, just got them last night. They actually sent me 4 total for some reason, so I have 2 clear and 2 really blue. I'll post some pics in a bit. The fps bump does keep the camera from touching what the phone is sitting on though. This case offers no protection other than scratches, I already knew this though. This will be my weeknight weekend case. The buttons are totally flush with this case so it's hard to tell what your pushing, just FYI.
Wanted to share with you all, a really good case that is worth the money for this phone, and I am really happy with it.
The case is intended to put on and leave on, hence the adhesive films on the inside of the front cover, the back (with yellow cushioning) just clips on with a strong solid tight fit. The front cover bezel/lip looks to be about 2.5-3mm deep, but accessing the right side soft menu still good. My finger size is about average/medium size and I have no problem also accessing the power button and fingerprint sensor on the side beside the s-pen.
Used the glue adhesives on the front screen that were already applied, just had to pull off the backings (They also included an extra set of glue adhesive strips for a second mount if you ever need to take off and put back on) and it fits perfect, lines up with all the holes and speaker grills. The back piece with the hinge cover (with 2 spring loaded hinges), protects the back and fold hinge while the lip around the camera protects the camera lenses. It too also has perfect alignment with holes and has lots of clearance with the USB C port fitting. The hinge cover protector also gives you something to hold/grip when the phone is unfolded.
Suggest you first get a front glass screen protector (I used the Spigen Glastr Ez Fit for perfect alignment and easy application) for the front and camera lenses protectors also before applying this case.
This quality case feels very good, smooth, solid, elegant, and provides a great grippy feel. More importantly, I feel more confident holding the phone with this case on, as it feels like it could weather some accidental mishaps and protect the phone.
In my pictures, you will notice I also put a pop socket on the back centre for four reasons:
1) use for general holding in hand, even more support than the hinge cover protection bump when fully open
2) use as a kick stand for front screen and/or the unfolded full screen
3) use for a magnetic mount that I have in my car - so phone can sit in folded vertical or horizontal orientation and also unfolded orientation, using a pop socket flat mount with the metal plate stuck on the back of it- I just slide my pop socket into the pop socket flat mount holder and then attach to the magnetic mount, which also allows me to:
4) wireless charge at home, by twisting the top half of the pop socket half a turn to remove, when it is pushed in, which will allow a closer clearance for wireless charging through the case as it is all plastic
One critical point based on the design of the spring loaded hinge cover protector, when you do unfold/open the phone to full screen, and you are using the back screen for taking a selfie, you loose about 1 cm of view area on the left of the front screen. This minor con is something I can live with as this is in only this situation and for the design, it is a great compromise having that hinge protection.
In closing, I am really happy I got this case. I was originally worried that it might be too bulky, eventually ending up removing it for a thinner/smaller case, but I think it has a great balance of protection, holds the s-pen on the front side of screen keeping it's thickness down (compared to the Samsung pen/kickstand case, or others in some cases), and one of the few cases that protects the hinge, allowing the phone full protection around the whole phone. Hopefully you found this helpful for your situation.
used to have slim armour pro on my fold 3. i thought same as you and glued the front and back to the phone. i didnt removed for 2 months as theres was no need but after 2 months i wanted to clean the phone as dust clogged in corners, dam that case bonded with phone like a rock. no matter how much i pulled it wont come off lmao. i had to use some 70% alcohol and slowly pried it off. there were several scraches on the front screen border where the case was contacting the phone. also its weighs so much, i dont know why they named it as slim as it aint slim at all. but i have to say that case is like BUNKER and protected my phone from several hard falls
this time thinking of going with latercase as i rarely fold my phone unless im going outside.

I read a lot about people having a challenge to pull the case cover off on the Z fold 3, some had glued the back on also which the current 4 version doesn't have or need, as it snaps on pretty good, but some with the 3 did use the glue strips which made it a challenge to get off. I can't speak to this Z fold 4 vs the 3 case, but having used it a couple of days, I still think it is a solid quality case.
It is a "little" thicker than the Samsung pen case, but not by much, and the pen holder on the Spigen sits in a nice place compared to the Samsung making it thinner right away, even with the hinge on the back when opened up. I understand why they need the glue adhesive on the front protection cover, as it needs to stay locked on especially when you are pulling on the s-pen constantly. What I really like is that it does protect the Fold's hinge area also... the Latercase is super thin, so less protection and the hinge is susceptible when folded with mishaps and for me I use both the front and the inside about the same. I can't see me taking the front cover off for a long time and don't think I will need to clean from the inside on the front panel as the fit is super tight, but the back can be snapped off easily if necessary. There are a lot of people that have used the Latercase as it is thin and has good grip, but doesn't have the "bunker" safety. As I mentioned in my closing casual review, I was afraid the size of the case would be too much for the protection it offers, but it is a lot better than I thought it would be in terms of weight/thickness and with the hinge protection and great pen storage location, I am very happy with it.
I recommend stick for example transprant tape for hinge to protect before scratches from this case. Every unfold and fold device i saw more scratches on the tape and thanks for it no on the hinge
I did it on my fold 2 from first days and now look like new.

Had the same issue with mine. Damaged and scratched my z fold 3 due to the case adhesive.
Tried to go another route for my fold 4 and got the vrs terra guard modern case, It looked alright & initially I was happy as it had Good Protection. It felt more plasticy than the spigen version but i liked the design so ignored the finish.
Over my 4 days of use I found that the magnets in the hinge created big dead spots in the inner screen where the S-Pen wouldn't register.
Screen protector included is much smaller than the active screen area. (So basically useless)
The hinge created a weird noise while opening and closing which i ignored and it eventually broke after 4 days of use (the hinge created tension in the plastic holding it and lifted the inner base of the case and broke).
Thankfully no damage to the phone.
I'll probably try the iblason or supcase I saw on some youtube channels they looked solid and only had one small piece of adhesive tape for the top cover.

Spigen screen protector for the outer small screen is very good. Although its not edge to edge which will hinder with cases.

So far, I don't see anyone has managed this on a fold 4! The hinge film gets pushed off when you open the phone as the tolerances are much tighter than the 2 and 3

Interesting, so in this case scratches problem can be unfortunetly hard to resolve.
After over a month with the Spigen Slim Armor Pro Pen Edition case, it is holding up great. Haven't had any close ones or miss-haps to talk about, and the under the hinge protector, minor dust, which is cleaned out easily with a clean micro-fibre. The case gives me the confidence that it has that 100% protection. Very well designed with upgrades to it since the first one they offered for earlier folds, I have to say this is their best design yet. Everything just works well, the case, the EZ glass front protector, the pen holder, the camera lens cover protection, the removable pop socket with the metal stick on that works with my car magnetic mount and the ESR phone boost kickstand. As for the fold 4 itself, no issues and works well with the Watch 5 pro and Buds 2 pro. The only one thing I wish it did have is a wider front screen similar to the Mix 2/Vivo Fold, but with all the pro's, in Canada, it is the clear winner for Folds here.
For its price, its terribly expensive. There are cases just like it for 30% less money that use magnets on the hinge instead of glue, and the material feels better. I feel as though Spigen rips people off and they must have massive profit margins if you see the cases that show up on amazon and aliexpress.
What case do you recommend then?

It is kinda damm expensive too for a case ...let's hope it comes down in price in Amazon prime sale next week !

Hey Elio,
Congrats on getting the Z Fold 4,
No issues with the finger print reader, I have average sized hands and thumb works all the time, there is enough room. Yes it is expensive, but well worth it, you wont feel ripped off as it is excellent quality, and there is no other design out there that has this unique set of design features. The case feels really good in the hand (not plastic feel... more of a smooth rubbery feel, so great grip) and it fits like a glove on the case. As for charging wirelessly, no problem... I even have a removable pop socket and an ESR phone boost kickstand, and still no problem charging after I remove the top of the pop socket (just a quick 1/2 twist when it is pushed in). Not only easier access to the pen, but better placement in my opinion, I would rather have a little wider than making it thicker... it already is thick because of the fold design... so why put a storage s-pen on the back... and putting it in the hinge protector like some designs makes the hinge protector a huge bump on the back when open.
I have very negative experience with the Spigen cover cases for Fold 4. The first one, the Tough Armor got broken after 16 days. The second one, the Slim Armor Pro got broken today after 4 months. Totally, I lost almost 150€ for these two cases ;-( I will request replacement. My conclusion is there is no way to make a good unbreakable cover case for Fold 4. For my previous non-foldable phones the Spigen cover cases where perfect.
My Latercase finally arrived today.
Feels really nice in the hand a la Aramid case that I had with the ZF3. Thinner than the OEM "Thin Case w/Kickstand". I am debating buying one of those stick-on kickstands from Amazon because it is nice to have an instant kickstand every once in awhile, without the added thickness.
Because it's a "Cyber edition", it wobbles on a table. Probably doesn't bother me because I don't use the ZF4 sitting flat like that.
Looks good.
@mickliq can you please share some photos of inside? Weather it has raised edges to protect the screen or not? The below one i got from ebay and its flawed at corners and does not have raised edges
They're totally flush. Not sure these are the best pics but gives you an idea.
Added ESR kickstand. In this position, it can still wirelessly charge. Not perfect but decent compromise.
FYI - I've been very happy with this ultra-thin kickstand that I added to mine, much thinner than anything else I've seen. This is on mounted on the Spigen Slim Armor Pro case. And wireless charging still works just fine.

On mine, the right side that covers the back with the camera does come up creating a lip, but just ever so slightly. The other side is quite flush. Having that lip isnt something you'd expect from a thin fitting case anyway.
On the front screen though, there's definitely a lip that will keep your screen off the table. For the inside, Samsung already has that built into the phone, so for the most part, its safe to open the fold and put it face down, but... i just wouldnt...

I love my Galaxy Z Fold 4, but was disappointed once I found out that there are not many cases available for it. And the ones that are typically suck. I tried cases from Spigen, VRS Designs, SUPcase, Zagg and multiple others from Amazon. EVERY SINGLE ONE was terrible quality. The hinge protectors were clunky and poorly designed. These other cases HEAVILY relied on the adhesive strips to hold the flimsy case onto the phone. Several of the rugged cases included built-in screen protectors, which were terrible. I dreamt of a case that would provide 360 degree protection, a sturdy kickstand, a practical S-Pen holder and the ability to use a tempered glass screen protector. When I thought all hope was lost, CaseBorne provided my dream case.
The Vanguard Series Z Fold 4 case by CaseBorne is INCREDIBLE. Before I go any further, this case is a tank. And tank's are big. If you own a Z Fold 4, you know that it is already a thick phone. And this case will make it even thicker. But if you own a Z Fold 4, then you're most likely okay with that. If you weren't, you wouldn't use a foldable.
Now for the Pro's:
- Rugged and durable case design
- The cover screen is protected by a raised lip, but it doesn't interfere with typing. Even with my big sausage fingers.
- The back of the phone provides a nice raised lip around the camera, and a really nice, sturdy kickstand.
- The kickstand is positioned perfectly on the back, and the phone can be propped up in any orientation (folded and unfolded).
- 2 tempered glass screen protectors are included with the case.
- The hinge protection is amazing. Some very intelligent engineering went into making this hinge cover. Yes, it's claim-to-fame is that it doesn't cover the front screen when the device is unfolded. But I really appreciate the quality of it the most. Something about the design and quality of the hinge cover is just incredible. When unfolding the device, it is so smooth and doesn't feel clunky and cheap like other rugged cases.
-The hinge cover includes an awesome hidden compartment for your S-Pen. Personally, it's my favorite implementation of an S-Pen holder for the Z Fold 4. It's hidden and out of the way, but also very accessible when I need to use my S-Pen.
- Karl, the founder of CaseBorne, is a really nice guy and is very personable. And CaseBorne is a small business, so it's great to support them!
Con's (There aren't many):
- The screen protectors are slightly too big. The edges of the protector go right to the edges of the front cover. Unfortunately, after trying to apply the screen protector perfectly several times, I was unsuccessful. As of now, the right edge of my screen protector is slightly lifted off of the cover screen. But it's something I'm willing to tolerate.
- Color selection. I selected the all black case. And it looks great; however, I would like to see some other color options in the next version. Currently, CaseBorne offers black, a light orange, and purple. I would really like to see a dark orange/copper or an olive green.
- When the device is unfolded, the hinge cover acts as a grip for your fingers. However, due to the design of the hinge protector, it doesn't stay completely stationary. There is some slight movement in the hinge cover. I would like to see this somehow made to not move when the device is unfolded. But let me be clear, it doesn't feel cheap, just kinda 'springy'.
Overall, this is an incredible case, and I suggest anyone who owns a Z Fold 4 to check it out.
Caseborne Case Quick Review -
Caseborne Case(without SPen) by ArmadilloTek for Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4
I was searching for a phone case that could maximise protection and I stumbled upon Caseborn by ArmadilloTek . At first glance, the prices were the same as other case manufacturers. The Caseborn case seemed to be more protective than other cases.
In the case box, you can find 2 screen protectors for the external screen, 2 wipes, and some spare two-sided scotch. The case itself is very good, it has great protection all round the phone including the camera and the hinge. It also comes with a horizontal stand which lets you watch videos, play games etc with ease. However, the size of the case overlaps the size of the phone itself but this is expected if it offers maximum protection.
PRO'S:
- Good quality plastic of the case
- Includes hinge protection
- Easy to hold the phone; there is no awkwardness when holding it
- Easily foldable
- The inside of the case has padding so the phone can't get scratched
CON'S:
- It's big for someone with small hands which could cause issues
- Phone case seems bigger than the phone
Overall, the phone case is a very solid build. It has brilliant protection. The phone case has great potential in the market and can definitely be a competitor with other case brands. Time will tell how the case is in use.

Some may say this case is "MASSIVE", and they're not wrong. However, it's no bigger than any other brand's cases with a hinge protector and pen holder. If you want a fully protective case that can hold the spen and keep your warranty alive because _Samsung_, you basically need something this tanky.
That said, there are some amazing features of the Caseborne over some of the competitors. Just as a reference, I have 2 Samsung cases (Standing with S-Pen, and Slim standing case), a Spigen case with the pen holder on the right side, and a bunch of generic cases with and without the hinge cover. What sets the Caseborne apart are
The one-piece design: Caseborne comes with stickers inside just like the Samsungs, but they don’t seem necessary. The case hugs the phone incredibly well and will not fly off, unlike the Samsungs. Since it’s a single piece, you don’t need to worry about the hinge part scratching up other parts of the case or phone when unfolding it.
Screen protectors: The included front screen glass protectors are good quality, and much better than the dot matrix screen protectors found on the generic ali express cases. And also much better than some of the other $80+ cases that doesn’t even come with a screen protector. The case and the screen protector are an EXACT fit, so if you have a different aftermarket TGSP like me, you will need to remove it before installing it.
Cutouts: This is one of the few cases that actually cover the volume rocker while still allowing for easy fp unlock. Most other cases do not cover a good half of the power/volume rocker side, and some of the other cases that do cover extend out too far to be able to unlock the phone easily. I have not had any issues unlocking my phone with this case.
Unfortunately, it’s not perfect:
The kickstand feels cheap. It works well enough, but the plastic action just doesn’t feel good. Something like ESR. TORRAS, or Spigen’s kickstands (for other phones, not the Fold4) would go a long way to making this case feel much more premium
The actual volume rocker buttons feel a bit too sharp and protrude a bit too far.
