Before flashing CWM recovery, you have to unlock the boot loader, using the command:
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
Then press Volume Up in phone to confirm.
Now you can flash.
Note: Unlocking bootloader formats the User data (/data partition), such as apps and other settings. Take a backup using Titanium Backup Tools, then proceed
Your recovery partition is locked.
1. Make yourself a developer (go to Settings -> About Phone -> Tap on Build until developer
2. In Developer options turn on Enable OEM unlock
3. Flash the new recovery, don forget to "fastboot oem unlock"
4. Important: don't allow phone to complete a normal reboot after flash. When rebooting, press Vol Up + Vol Down + Power to enter CWM recovery directly. Otherwise the stock recovery will replace CWM again.
When I type the command "fastboot oem unlock" and press enter, my phone displays a long-ish disclaimer text about the dangers of unlocking the bootloader, ending with the instruction to use Volume Up key to confirm ("YES, unlock...") or the Volume Down key to cancel ("NO, don't unlock..."). Pressing Volume Down works as expected: the line "returning to fastboot in 3secs" is displayed, followed by a return to fastboot. But pressing Volume UP seems to have NO EFFECT at all!! NOthing highlighted, no change in the screen, pressing power afterward does nothing. It is not a hardware problem of the Volume Up button either -- Volume Up/Down keys work in normal apps and in recovery mode just fine.
I was hoping that perhaps it just silently succeeded, but when i next try to flash the CWM recovery img, I still get 'sending recovery' OKAY but 'writing recovery' FAILED??
what do I do to get the volume UP to work while the phone in this mode??
BTW the phone is a Rook 4G phone from EE here in the UK. This is apparently the same as a ZTE Blade 3 A410 phone with carrier branding.
THANKS in advance for any help!

Absolutely identical experience here with the Alcatel One Touch Pop 3 - 5015x. I was following this tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/and...lcatel-one-touch-pop-s3-t3060092/post65430049, had a problem with the OEM, solved it by finding the top post on THIS thread and now I have the exact same issue as you two gentlemen. Any help would be appreciated, cus the phone seems bricked as it is. It's stuck in boot loop and receiving no input.
Thi is NOT the exact same issue as we have: you are stuck in a boot-loop; we have a version of fastboot which seems to have disabled the volumeUp button, thereby making it impossible to confirm our request to unlock the bootloader. e can only press VolumeDown (which cancels our request to unlock the bootloader).
i posted at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=65462453&postcount=48 a suggestion for how to proceed in your case: just use SP Flash tools to reinstall a stock recovery image, and then use that recovery to install a complete stock ROM.
,BTW, Sir, when you say:
> ...with the Alcatel One Touch Pop 3 - 5015x. I ... had a problem with the OEM, solved it by finding the top post on THIS thread
note that the solution given in the top post of this thread is designed for Android One devices, and your Alcatel One Touch does NOT appear in the list of supported devices for that "fix." can't say it's entirely surprising that you would get into a bootloader problem if you apply top your phone a bootloader unlock solution for some random other platform!! LUck would not likely be with you when doing that.

Go in bootloader mode, connect your phone to your computer and tell me what do you get if you tape in your console "fastboot devices"
I want to know the number before fastboot.. mine is strange and maybe not the original

Swtich off and press power+vol. Down button and hold for 2-3 sec. Next when you see some display..leave the buttons then connect to pc and rest you know..else go in recovery mode(power+vol.up) and flash twrp recovery and then flash miui v50 rom(nevermind, but why are you not rooting your device?..since warranty is not void)
Just follow
1. Reboot in fastboot by pressing volume down and power
2. Download twrp IMG
3.download adb tools in PC and paste the .IMG of recovery there and rename to recovery
4.connect you phone in fastboot mode and type command"fastboot flash recovery recovery.IMG"
5.now you have twrp and flash custom ROM
Note : you must have redmi 1s USB driver

the trick is to completely power down your device, then Hold down the volume up button (or down perhaps. i don't remember exactly) and then plug in the usb cable at the same time.. I figured it out when i was trying to root my device a few months ago and completely messed it up before using the lg pc bridge to recover it again

No. Locked bootloader doesn't screw you. It's able to boot into bootloader/fastboot mode even if it's been locked.
-power on device presing (vol- & power) until logo image appear, release and press again power key by the second
-format device screen apper.. chose : format yes , confirm
-just appear android image formating.. press the 3 key alternatively
-then enter to stock recovery ; and u can chose fastboot or sideloader mode
* i dont know the exactly combination key press. but u must try a couple intents..

It might be easy in MTK but not in Qualcomm lol. We even tried "adb reboot recovery". It just shows a dead android symbol. But even randomly pressing those buttons doesn't allow us to go into recovery. MTK users have a upper hand lol.

Hi!
I have a LGK10 420DS (m216) MSM8916 Indian version I am unable to boot into bootloader or recovery by using adb / fastboot or by volume and power kay, as you are aware LG is not supporting any software update. I want to flash CustomROM and trying to unlock bootloader with different method but unable to enter in recovery, plz. some one can help out.
volume - whilst pluging usb into computer = fastboot mode
volume + whilst plugging = download mode
this works in new models, tested in a lg aristo 2
Steps to recover from bootloop or soft brick
Method 1:
1. Download and paste the ozip file for realme 3 to sd card from here:
https://www.realme.com/in/support/software-update
2. Insert SD card in your soft bricked phone
3. Power off your phone by pressing power button for sometime
4.
a. If you have stock recovery then do this step:
Press power button + vol down, it should boot into recovery. If it boots into fastboot mode, you have to do:
fastboot oem reboot-recovery (to boot into recovery).
or
b. If you have TWRP or no recovery at all, then do this step:
Press power button + vol down to boot into fastboot mode.
If it's in endless bootloop, Hold vol up + power till the screen becomes blank, now release the button immediately, now press power + vol down to boot to fastboot mode and now flash stock recovery using:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot oem reboot-recovery
5. Flash the ozip file in sd card using stock recovery and after that wipe the data (full)
6. Reboot
Method 2:
1. Boot to fastboot by powering off your device and then pressing power button + vol down.
If it's in endless bootloop, Hold vol up + power till the screen becomes blank, now release the button immediately, now press power + vol down to boot to fastboot mode
2. Commands to execute:
fastboot -w
fastboot erase para
3. Boot to TWRP by:
fastboot oem reboot-recovery
if you don't have twrp, get it from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/realme-3/development/screen-doesnt-twrp-realme-3-t3944022
4. Restore the TWRP backup ,except preloader_a and preloader_b partitions and reboot

Why when I download ozip I always get different md5 checksum? I tried different download manager and I always get different md5 checksum. Anyone has a mirror of any ozip file?
doesn't install stock recovery
When i install stock recovery and reboot to recovery it doesnt show anything and boot to system .That's why i cant install stock rom .i intsalled stock image too but get stuck on realme logo .But if i install twrp it works fine . Device rmx1825 . current rom:aosp gsi(buggy buggy buggy)

Theres only one left chance of reviving damage of phone software. JTAG is the best option . But JTAG is expensive. Better go to nearest cellphone shop and pay their fees.

Can anyone give the link of recovery.img because in stock rom which i downloaded there isn't any recovery.img please help...... My stock rom is up to date
Hi,
I am looking how to fix my friend's Realme 8 5G (RMX3241) phone.
Here is the story:
1) My friend downgraded his firmware but by an accident installed ROM for India region, the result was he had no GSM signal on the phone (he lives in EU).
2) He also unlocked bootloader, but probably not correctly, because it shows orange state and I can't go into recovery with combination vol up + power
3) The phone booted, but no GSM.
What I did:
1) Managed to boot into recovery using "adb reboot recovery".
2) Then I pressed 'reboot' in recovery (I wanted to load a proper region ROM) and since then I am watching "realme" logo for like 10 minutes straight, so I assume it went into bootloop.
What I can do now:
1) After pressing vol down + power it shows:
oplus Verify fail
need to verify signature of another brand
oplus Verify pass
fastboot verify success
fastboot_unlock_verify ok
However in this state I can't reach this phone using adb
2) Pressing vol up + power doesn't boot into recovery, just normally boots the system but it goes into bootloop.
3) The orange state is still there.
So assume I am now left with bootlooped system with no access to ADB.
Can anyone help me with this? Are there any solutions to this?
Tried SP Flash tool but after loading scatter file it shows:
Platform MT68 not support on this version.
Please update to latest flashtool and try again.
Well, I have a solution for that.
It seems that the system is bricked, so you need to download a proper firmware version for your phone, and flash the stock ROM via fastboot (platform-tools) by erasing super and vbmeta partitions, and flashing every single IMG file of the firmware stock ROM.
2) He also unlocked bootloader, but probably not correctly, because it shows orange state and I can't go into recovery with combination vol up + power

Orange state is normal also as far as i know there is not a button combination to boot into recovery on this phone
1) After pressing vol down + power it shows:
oplus Verify fail
need to verify signature of another brand
oplus Verify pass
fastboot verify success
fastboot_unlock_verify ok
However in this state I can't reach this phone using adb

This is fastboot mode and you have to use fastboot which is bundled with adb, in this state you can: unlock bootloader, flash partitions or you can reboot to recovery

SP_Flash_Tool_v5.2124 works for me
You have to:
Have proper VCOM MTK drivers installed
Boot the phone by pressing vol up + vol down while connected to pc via usb
Use MTKAuthBypass v7 before flashing in order to bypass auth protection system.
UPDATE:
mtkclient it's perfect and on the github everything is explained on how to use it
