Hello, on my two days old S20+(exynos), I have an issue with stock app called "Edge screen". This app is first in battery consumption list, and as it is stock app it can't be disabled (I already turned it off,as I am not using it), but it keeps running in background. Is there some solution for this?

Disable using ADB from a PC>USB
Or use a package disabler like "Package Disabler Pro" or "CCSWE App Manager"
Does not need root

Since updating the eBay app yesterday, I'm experiencing major battery drain. Its my main kernel wakelock on BetterBatteryStats.
Anyone know how I can fix this as I use the app quite often and don't want to delete it?

nope..i had the app a year ago..i deleted it solely because of the battery drain..sucks to hear that after all this time it hasnt improved
I have to confirm that the ebay app cause massive wakelocks that drain the battery very fast.
I think i will uninstall it until they resolve.

Famous developers that working in famous apps don't think to end user, their think only at their money, that's why little app developed by 1 devs sometimes are better than official app, this "big" developers think your phone is their, adding stupid things only for make "new feature list" ( facebook story with their "own" camera apps ), they don't think at battery or something that, because their don't use this.
Serious developer don't use at 4 wakelocks at minute for utility App
Serious developer don't use HTML5 instead java ( Facebook story )
Serious developer use app before release.
Uninstall it and use ebay from PC, More secure and more fast.

i had the same problem, just installed older version and it's back to normal, new version use new way to display notifications
Battery drain
I'm having the same experience with the app on my HTC One X+, if it makes you feel any better. I disabled all notification alterts and it seems a little better but I'm considering downgrading the app version instead if that doesn't work.
im using it on a SE arc S, I have to say iv noticed battery life has been worse since i installed it, its a shame because its actually a great functioning wee app, if only it would sleep more efficiently
just stopping by to report that the ebay app killed my battery yesterday within 20 minutes... 30% down..
If you use this app often uninstalling it is not an option of course. what you can do if you are on a rooted device is install Titanium Backup and freeze the app when your not using it. When you want to use the app simply unfreeze it and do your business. That will keep the app from killing you battery when it is not being used.
Use greenify, problem solved!

Might be something like this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29369439&postcount=4
It can be any program that is not closed properly (eg. running in the background), like Youtube.
Does it also occur when your device is rebooted and NO program is started? (See in the apps listing which apps are running right after resetting)
it is manifested even when the device has just been restarted. I try to freeze youtube and see how it goes?
Does anyone know a program to check if the battery is still working?
Hi. Maybe try to untick conversation tones (notifications) in whatsapp.

Try to use Greenify. That'll stop programmes from restarting.
As has been said that particular wake lock is an app that hasn't closed Properly.
When I get it I terminate apps one by one each time going back to bbs hitting refresh to see if the wakelock has stopped increasing. When it does I know that's the app I need to greenify.

thx for explain.
Last night as I needed the phone fully functional, I 've formatted. I will update if the problem recurs and if I were to do only 3 hours of screen on. If greenefy will install (I have to buy it or even the free version is fine?)
Thank you.

Any time.
I use the free version. It is a very good app. Make sure you delete all sounds within the phone settings as well. Such as tts, keyboard sounds/vibrations etc.

Hi, I have a stock Note 2 with Android 4.3.
Since a while I am unable to install apk's.
Also the turned off display does not power on when pulling out the pen.
I have never used the playstore and the device is not rooted.
I have no idea why.
Check if you installed any app related to screen brightness or wichever is related to display..

Ok, I just deactivated this app (it was actually luxlite). Now I can install apps again.
But why is that since I installed many apps after installing luxlite.
Pen still not working on turned off display. Could this be caused by another app?

Hello Sir,
There is application download all files for Androids. You can search it on Google. If you can't then ask me to provide you direct link for that application. It will allow you to download any kind of file on your Android. Got me?
I reinstalled lux and it is blocking the installation again. Anyone knows a free alternative for that?
Hi, Please some one help me about Use of "No background Process" - in Developer option . Because i have enabled this option in My Honor 8 Pro to stop background Process. With this option enabled most of the Google services also like Chrome, Youtube are all getting stoped once i removed from app tray. when i am opening those apps are running normally no other issue.
My doubts are whether this option is useful or not, because i am reading some stuffs online it is saying it will drain the Battery lot. if i havn't enabled this option most of the apps are running in background even i removed those apps from app tray.
Please some one help me with clear idea, whether i can close the app try or can i continue by enabling this "No background process". Because i am not heavy user, i am just a lite user between one hour i will open whatapp thats it, once in a day i will use Youtube for 30 minutes.

First and foremost thing in Android is - Free ram is wastage
When you select the no background process option, the apps will be removed from background when you clear them from the recents screen. It means all their processess will be terminated.
So, everytime you open an app, all its processess need to be restarted from the start which will in turn use more battery overtime.
Android has now evolved upto the level where it can easily manage the background process.
So, you need not to worry about battery draining because of apps running in background.
If you use just 2 or 3 apps in a day, you can choose the option to keep 3 or 4 background processes.

Thanks for the reply, Now i make it to maximum-3 Process in background. Let me see whether it is helping me to improve the battery life.
One more thing, if i set to "No background Process" then even though if i kept the apps in try (not closing just minimizing) , it is automatically stopped when i am checking in task manager, but those apps are in tray( looks like in RAM). In this method also will Drain the battery? Please reply

As mentioned above, opening your apps from start will use up more battery because it has to load everything to run the app (generally libraries, images, and various resources).
Keeping an app open in background will result in a more lasting battery. If they are in the tray, your system will not shut them down as you are supposed to be using them (that's what we call multi-tasking).
Although, if you "close" an app, it will force the process to stop. By doing this, every time you quit an app by clearing it in the tray, the system will free the temporary data and discharge the pre-loaded resources.
As K.khiladi said, you'll save up more battery by letting the default option (Standard limit). Hope that helps.
That's the reason the option is only accessable through Dev Options.

Try optimizing the apps by going into settings. Also try disabling the running of useless apps in background. I was also facing battery drain very fast but since i disabled background usage of useless apps and optimized the apps on battery, i am getting terrific results. Will post screenshots when i head back home.
I'm getting around 12Hrs+ with my poco F1 which has 4000mah
its usual with any new phone .. id recommend disable fast charging , let it charge overnight with a regular speed.
after the second charge , im getting 17+ hours - over two use of youtube, netflix and texting , which is marvelous
loving the device , camera is great , screen is crisp , and its SNAAAAAAAAAPDragon .. F.CK Yeah
Got 17 hours on my first charge and that was with 4gb of WhatsApp backup downloading, setting up my work profile and lots of other one time things! I have done my usual of setting a lot of apps to deep sleeping and disabling any bloatware I can't uninstall using Samsung package disabler pro. I reckon 20 hours is possible with this phone...

What is the difference between disabling bloatware using settings app and by using Samsung package disabler? I mean why install another app to just disable stuff which you can easily achieve using settings app. In both cases space will be used, app updates won't be applied. So what is the benefit of using that app? I am just asking if i am missing anything?

There are lots of Samsung apps that you can't uninstall or disable. By settings app you mean the native phone settings for apps? Also with package disabler you can very quickly trial and undo things incase you see negative impacts

Yes, native phone settings app won't let you disable certain samsung apps/services. Can you post the list of apps/services which are safe to disable. It would be helpful for me as well as others Thanks
