S20 ultra sd or note 20 exynos? - Samsung Galaxy S20 / S20+ / S20 Ultra Questions &

Title...
Wich one should I use? I have a s20 ultra 5g with snapdragon and I am very happy with it..... but my carrier offers me a trade for a note 20 ultra but it has the exynos processor.... does it worth the change?

not trying to be a SD fanboy or whatsoever but SD is way better for me...even charging a SD device is easier, you dont need dedicated Samsung Fast Charging bricks and powerbanks.

Is 128GB card supported?

Has anyone tried this capacity on T2 Ultra phones?
It's not possible for me to buy one that I could return if it doesn't work, so I gotta make sure the phone can handle it before buying. I hope someone could shed some light on this, and thanks on advance.

I can only vouch for the 64GB, Which I am currently using in mine.
but xperia t2 ultra officially supports only 32 gb,right?
I use a Samsung Evo 128gb micro sd card on my T2 Ultra, no problems with the phone. The only inconvenience is that some File manager apps don't yet support 128gb, i use the stock File Commander app.

With the OnePlus 3 including dual SIM, couldn't we swap the dual SIM tray for a SIM and microSD tray, therefore giving us expandable storage?
It seems that OP3 doesn't support SD Cards :/

I've watched and read quite a few high-profile reviews and nobody has mentioned whether an SD card it will work in the sum tray. I would assume that it won't.

it won't -- dual sim only
i would also like to no if there would be a way to make this work, the one plus x has the dual slot but the ability to use a sd card so why wouldn't the bigger better phone also be able to...

Maybe wait for a tear down of the device to be certain?? Unless someone has the schematics to look it up for us right now...
Also wait till after June they may be bringing out a bigger storage version. And also the Gold 1 comes out then. I won't buy it if I can at least get 128GB and Gold. Otherwise not worth it.

64gb is enough for me. Internal is faster anyways. This device is a beauty and a beast.
Would love to have a SD card. More then once killed backups by factory resetting the internal storage But probably wont be possible to get this to work on the 3...
But ordred one aniway

I really really can't stress enough how true this is. I've been saying it for years, and nobody seems to see it. If you can connect whatever to the USB (such as an external memory or HDD) your need for an internal card is greatly reduced (as long as the phone has a bare minimum of storage space to make it serviceable).
But I was beginning to think I was the only one seeing that!

OTG is definitely useful and I learned that on my 64gb nexus 6 but it is no where near as convenient as having an sd card slot or higher internal storage amount.
I made use of it out of pure necessity but having foolishly bought another 64gb only device in my note 5 I decided I will never again buy a device without a minimum 128gb internal storage or an ext sd card slot.
its just not worth the hassle for me personally being forced to use OTG.

The lack of expandable storage is a deal-breaker, whatever anyone might say otherwise. You can simply remove the SD Card with ALL the data & backup from a phone that goes dead.
Would have also loved a IR blaster AND a larger battery, which I might add, could have been incorporated by raising the back & making it flush with the camera bump.
Current iteration of Oneplus with a dedicated Micro SD card slot (Not a Hybrid One), IR Blaster & a larger battery (4000+ mAh) would have destroyed every other phone.
cloud storage is far easier for backup than microSD.
4000mAh battery would make the phone significantly heavier and thicker
IR blaster is a niche product and cost-ineffective to implement since most won't use it.

Google photos for example. I would have bought the op3 even if it was 16 gb due to storing everyting in the Cloud.
I have an extra SD card, I'll try to cut it out to the size of a micro sim and see it it works, I don't think it will but with a try
will not work, phone only have two regular sim slots, not hybrid with sd card reader. opened, seen. probably what you'll get, stucked sd card in sim slot and voided warranty.
Ah bummer... just decided to get one but it's a dealbreaker for me too.
only for sim
oneplus 3 will only support dual sim no sd card

Note 7 promotion - fast ass micro sd card

I just received mine. Holy ****, it's pretty fast.
It's this one:
http://www.samsung.com/us/computing...vo-256gb-memory-card-w-adapter-mb-mc256da-am/
95/90 MBps read/write speed.
Is that what you guys got?
Did you benchmark it? I have a Lexar Class 10 128GB card I paid $39 for. It's listed for 95mbps when I benchmarked it I got 56 read & 18 write.
For the cost compared to what Samsung says the 256gb card is work, the $39 card any my Fit Gear 2 work fine.

Here are the benchmarks:

How do they compare to your Lexar?
P.S. I haven't opened the packaging yet. It looks so pretty inside the pretty packaging. And I'm still thinking about what I'm gonna fill it with. I only have 112GB of favorite movie collection and a few gigs of music - don't know what to put on it.
I bet the benchmark varies by phone. Open it and check it out. I used A1 SD Bench to check it.

In my laptop 100, in my note 7 around 80
30 is terrible.
Your read speeds probably wouldn't even match my write speeds with this lexar card.
As i said love the storage capacity hate the slow speeds.

I read somewhere its the fastest microsd for its size in the world and supposedly its the little brother to the new micro cards being made by samsung
http://www.pcworld.com/article/3092...orage-cards-could-replace-micro-sd-media.html
There was a rumor that the sd card readers in the note 7 were supposed to be compatible with these but that it didnt make the final schematics.
BTW I love your dont tread on me pic, its hillarious and awesome.

Just benched it in my Note7. 73 read, 63 write. That's with the same Lexar you have.
Didn't think it would work Because it was for a s7 promotion on the link ; but i input all my info and everything checked out with my note 7 purchase
It asked if i wanted a 256 micro sd card or a gear VR..
I opted for the gear vr of course (yes , i know the micro sd cost more) I asked my self do i really need over 300 GB of space ? I said na , Il opt for a gear VR .. i have the first model for my s6 and it was amazing minus the pix quality but the whole 360 vr experience is something to experience..

It will vary a bit from test to test but thats not too far off what i see though.
Thats more than double the write speed of 99% of the cards out there though.
Too bad the note couldnt match the speeds in my laptop lol...read mid 200's, write at 100 or so lol

For my recalled Note 7 purchased August 19, I opted for the 256 Micro SD card. Then when I returned My Note7 and purchased the "New Note 7 with out the battery issues I opted for the Gear VR. So Now will have the Gear VR with the Storage space to save Games and Video. I also have 2 of every accessories that the phone came with becase all they wanted was the phone, so I was able to keep the original accesories and the new accessories that came with the new phone. I also kept the s-Pen so I have a back for that! All in all, for all the headaches with the recall, I think I came out O'tay!

UFS 2.0 Storage.

I've just done a check and we've got UFS 2.0 storage in our Mate 9 PD'S... I can't help feeling a bit cheated that the Mate 9's were touted to be sold with UFS 2.1??!!
How did you check? The speed tests on my PD all seem to indicate UFS 2.1

Thanks, I just tested. Mine seems to have KLUEG8U1EM-B0B1 TLC UFS2.0 256GB. It seems to be the fastest memory that is listed in the other thread. I actually never read what kind of memory the PD was supposed to have. So I don't feel cheated, the phone is lightning fast and everything works great.

Agreed - i have the Pro, and got the Samsung UFS2.0 128GB memory, which is "faster" speedwise than the UFS2.1... Also read that UFS2.1 is only available on the Chinese models (not sure about Chinese PD).. so it seems like it is limited to China.
UFS2.1 was not a selling point for me... if however it was some major difference .. like it came with eMMC or something else... then that'd be a different story.
Same discussion is happening with the Samsung S8

How much difference does having 8GB ram instead of 6GB ram make

I have a Mate 10 with 6GB ram. I find it to be quite responsive. I had 12 aps in recents and still have about 3 GB ram free. So where would folks see improvement in performance on a Mate 20 X with 8 GB ramq. With gaming (which I don't do much of)? Does the camera's AI take up a lot of memory? Is more memory taken up by OS on Mate 20 X so there is less free space? Appreciate people's thought on this before I decide on which Mate 20 X to pick. Thanks!
My understanding is that, as good as it sounds, ram in current phone flagships far exceeds need.
There are some tests on Youtube and there is not really a difference.
The 8GB Oneplus 6T is even slower mostly and has a lower benchmark score in this video then the Mate 20 Pro 6GB (almost same specs like Mate 20 X)

Well, seems to make sense. I've seen the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 is available with 10GB ram! Comes in handy I guess....
Just checked my storage on my phone and with sdcard I'm using 160GB. So the other thing about getting tbe 8GB is it has 256GB storage so I could, in principle avoid buying Huawei's nanocard.

Exactly given the current pricing of those cards. Makes sense to get more RAM and storage.
Pretty sure 6gb, 8gb, and 10gb are mostly gimmicks to sell the phone. As new android versions come out, things get more efficient not more bloated generally. Its too bad manufacturers didn't put the money into more storage.
The primary reason for the memory isnt for everyday use. The extra memory is for game play. On a everyday usage its not going to make any difference unless you keep every app open and dont close anything. But the primary reason for the 6GB or 8GB is primarily for games so there is less hiccups during play. Because as games get more sophisticated they use more memory.
how about the battery drain between 6gb/128gb and 8gb/256gb ? does it make any diffrence?

Its based on usage, size doesnt matter on battery drainage.

You can, you have to turn the off back off, its the same thing as an iPhone, as soon as aniPhone has 5% battery it turns itself on, same thing, if you want it to remain off then you either have to plug it in while the phone is on and then turn it off, or if already off and you plug it in and it turns on, then you will have to turn it off. I know its annoying but thats how it is.
