brick after upgrade android 10 - MTCD Android Head Units General

Hi guys, I wanted to upgrade to android 10 my dasaita unit, I installed the recovery and it seemed to have gone well but when I restarted the screen is no longer accessed, while the unit started regularly. The reset button doesn't work anymore, how can I send it to recovery?

It seeems something wrong occurred (or interrupted ) during upgrade
I think the best youn can do is to repeat the process by means of usisg a full android image od android 10 on a sdboot card and reboot your unit by means of disconnecting it from battery or fuse

it is possible but the problem that the screen does not turn on, how can I do it? I should connect it to an external shield via hdmi but the model does not have such a connector

[Q] Mysterious problems with used Phone... HELP!

Hi guys!
So, my sister got a Galaxy Ace II yesterday with some ode stuff, then I decided to install Cyanomod 11, BUT more problems appered:
1 - My Windows 7 (64bits) doesn't recognize the drivers.. so it no even list the phone as conected. I tried using Kies to detect and a bunch of packages of drivers of this smartphone model, but till now haven't made any progress... what can I do?
2 - I reseted the phone to original especifications by his own menu and tried to acess its Download and Recovery mode by pressing the 3 buttons at the same time(Vol UP + Home + Power), but for my surprise it didn't boot like it should, jus initializing normaly...what can I do?
3 - I realized, when it booted, that the boot animation has been changed, samsung logo doesn't apper ever and including I found some stuff installed that doesn't seem to be something that generic stock roms have instaled; this made me think that the room installed is not its stock. If that's so, maybe the problems listed above are resolved, but still so I don't know what to do...
I want to install Cyanomod 11, but need the phone recognized for Windows, it rooted and in download mode, but haven't find a way to begin if my computer doesn't reconize it...
Any Help?

Yes, I hold the 3 buttons at once and waited to it boot, but it jus performed the normal boot, it didn't get into download or recovery mode... I tried many times, but it's always the same...
And I know that CM has it's own boot animation, I know it, but it's not it this time... it's another one... and for what I know, it's not the samsung original one...
Having Kies installed is counterproductive to installing flashing drivers (and if you sync contacts and calendars with Google I can't even think of why you need it :angel
Try unplugging the cable while entering recovery, the LPM mode (charging while "off") screws it up (but download mode should work!)
And by "no Samsung logo", you mean not even the firmware's "Samsung GALAXY ACE 2 GT-i8160"? Sounds like you got a fake then...
But if it boots, you should check the Settings/About menu and tell us the "build version", often that's enough to know what ROM is on it now

Ryccardo, I installed Kies in the hope of having the drivers easylier recognized... But that was not my luck...
About that trick could you be more especific? Do I put the phone off with the cable plugged to PC and when I press both 3 buttons I unplug it?
About the version it is :
DM_BASE_12A_W12.43|sc6820_modem|11-02-2012
And this means that??? It's not the original one, right?
Thanks for the help in advance!

Recovery mode is: with power off, hold up+home+power (if it's on, it will reset since you're holding down power... keep holding it) and download mode is the same with down+home+power...
But that version is VERY dubious, the standard Ace never had "SC6820" (maybe it's the L model?) and I don't even think it was out at the start of 2012...

Strange, afaik galaxy ace 2 is shipped with 2.3.6 android.
Did you succed booting in downlaod mode ( Vol down + home + power )
you have to flash Stock JB and we will see what is going on

Ah, sorry, I remember how much the <10 post restrictions sucked
But back to your problem, this is not an Ace 2... I suspected it since you posted that version number:
Googling "sc6820_modem" has http://www.pandawillforum.com/archive/index.php?t-18643.html at the end of the 1st page
2nd post there mentions "Star I8160"
Googling "Star i8160" on images shows http://www.gldron.com/media/tmp/catalog/product/6/4/64cfade20f06e0e31ffd853fb1f8009a.jpg as 5th result... while searching the version number on images shows a lot of Samsung clones...

You surely can't use roms from these forums... There may be other roms for your device but you'll have to find out what it actually is first, which can be somewhat difficult...
Poor sister of mine.. She won't be happy in knowing this...
Anyway I wanna thank you Ryccardo and Rox!

Device Bricked or not?

hi guys I have an LG G Pad updated to kitkat officially, I have root it and I was installing the clockworkmod recovery using the recoveryinstaller.apk,
when I have tapped on flash recovery my device got stuck on black screen!!! I have tryied all buttons combination but nothing and the lg pc suite or mobiletool cannot do anything.......what I have to do?
Try to power off your g pad and turn it on again. If it get you to recovery mode, then you should connect it to your PC and try LG Support Tool to restore to factory kit Kat update.

If nothing else works, just enter Download mode and recover with LG Mobile Suite. To enter download mode:
1) With machine off, and cable plugged into the tablet but not into computer, hold volume up and down button at the same time (NOT power button).
2) Still holding the combination, plug into the computer. It will now enter Download mode. This can sometimes be tricky if the tablet won't stay off. The key is: on/off unplugged and still holding it-> plug into computer.
When you see the Download Mode on the screen (feel free to unplug the USB as it will now hold the mode until told otherwise), load the LG Mobile Suite and install the standard ROM.
Hi i tryied to put the device in download mode but the pc won't recognize it I can hear the sounds of Windows about the peripheric but the tablet continue to remain in black screen and the support tool won't recognize it.... I can try with another pc but for lg the warranty can pass with root?

Hi,
I'm in the same boat. I bought the device rooted and it was working fine, then after a day it just shut off when I was in recovery. It wasn't even while I was doing anything to it. I had rebooted into recovery from an apparently stable ROM. The battery was at about 40%. Now there are no lights and almost no sign of life at all. Occasionally when trying to connect it I get the cursor change that indicates that a USB device has connected but the LG Mobile app won't recognize it. Is there any chance that I'm just not pressing the buttons correctly? The instructions I've read say to make sure that the device is off, but I don't know how to tell conclusively that it's off. Has anyone had any similar experience, or is there something else I can try?
Thanks

Just follow the instructions above. If it has no charge, you may plug it in the wall for 15 minutes before starting.

I've done it many times but there's an element of uncertainty because I can't tell whether it's on or off. My Sony would go through some cycles of blinking lights. I'm probably overlooking something obvious. How do you tell whether it's off, or at least make a good guess?

Hi all,
I've got exactly the same problem, maybe even worse ....
Been reading all about unbricking, updating, recovering etc ... Downloaded about all software I could lay hands on...none working. The B2CAppSetup, which is supposed to install the Mobile Tools doesn't even recognise my Internet Connection , go figure... Or is that suposed to be a fixed-line connection instead of WIFI? I've got some 'off-line-fixed-tools' that starts OK, but as soon as I point it to the *.kdz file and apropriate *.dll's, it just stops with an extract-error. The flashtool I found doesn't find any device on any port, etc etc etc ...
My G-Pad is only running in a kind of bootloop (LG-logo 2x, the death-droid, and again from the beginning) The 'recovery-mode' isn't doing anything and the only thing that surely works is 'download-mode'. But then again, Win XP sees several LGE-USB-devices which are NOT recognised by the LG-software.
Any one ?

If you are in download mode, then you are halfway there. As to the drivers, try uninstalling them and reinstalling. Then enter the LG Mobile Suite fresh and try from there.

If you hold the power button for a few seconds, you will see it go off, even if it is showing a black screen. The difference will be visible.

NVM. Misread. Anyhow, I found it doubtful that the LG Mobile Suite has issues with WiFi specifically, since the software has no way of knowing how it is receiving data via the internet. It may be an XP issue.

I had a similar issue with Sony's Emma update tool. On one of my computers (a Fujitsu Lifebook) it consistently failed saying that I had no internet connection. Another computer was fine.
My bricked LG-V500 must have been some hardware issue. I wondered if I had done something because I was flashing various ROMs, but I didn't do anything careless and it died when I inserted an SD card, not while I was performing any updates. I had just bought it on eBay and I really didn't want to make the seller deal with it (even though he had rooted and tinkered with it) when there was a decent chance that I had done it anyway. He sent me his newegg invoice, I returned it to them, and they just sent out the replacement.

Hi, I have an LG G Pad v500 with the same problem. I was trying to unlock my bootloader. Then I replaced my aboot to this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2698267, following this guide: http://www.grupoandroid.com/topic/1....t-todo-en-uno/.
I have an LG L70 D325 and it worked to me, so I tried to do the same with my LG G Pad.
Now my LG G Pad doesn't turn on. My screen is black and I can't access "Download Mode" nor "Recovery Mode" and nothing else. It's seems like my device is dead.
Can someone help me?
Is there something that I can do to fix my device?
I appreciate all kind of help!!!

I know this is old 3 year old reply. But i'm fighting with same issue on my T-Mobile LG PAD V521. Did you get this fixed or could tell me how? I don't know when tablet is on or off and can't tell.
I understand it has to be off for download mode but problem is it might take long time for battery to be "off".
Thank you

Nexus 5X disabled itself. Any suggestions?

Hello everyone,
I'm new to the forum (so if the thread is in the wrong place, I apologise), but I've been using ROMs and kernels from the forum. So I have a problem with my Nexus 5X. I have been using it with Pure Nexus 7.1.2, EX kernel, and rooted since Pure Nexus 7.1.2 came out. But recently (a month ago or so), the phone disabled itself. I mean, a lot of functions stopped working. That happened after I plugged it into my computer with the original USB C Cable (as I usually do), but this time, the phone shut down and the status LED started blinking red. After I turned it on, things like the recent apps button, the home button (only the back button works), notifications, status bar, developer options, and some gestures don't work (maybe I'm missing something else, but you get the point). Even the USB connection doesn't work anymore and I can't upload a new ROM on the flash. I tried Reset, Hard Reset, backup (system, data, boot) and restore, but with no success.
And I don't even know what could cause such failure. Any suggestions? How can I clean and reinstall if USB doesn't work and I'm not sure about downloads (nothing appears on the notifications when downloading)
Thanks in advance!

PX6 android 9,0 (no physical buttons) black screen, wont boot

Hi, i have bought this player: Rockship PX6 ( rk3399)
2 Core cortex A72 2ghz
4 Core Cortex A53 1.5ghz
At first, it worked just fine. After only few hours of use, when I turn ignition off, android goes to sleep. When I turn ACC back on, touch would not respond. I had to press RST button, to get touch working again.
After five or six reboots like that, android doesn't want to turn on at all. Buttons light up for a sec when I press RST button, but nothing happens, black screen. How can I fix this? The seller sent me the firmware uptade.zip, and MCU (MTCE_CZ_V3,10) img file. What can I do to fix it? So far I tried making a bootable SD card with SD firmware tool, (i tried putting mcu img to sd card and firmware img from this forum) put the SD cart into slot, and powered on the radio. But the screen still stays black, and buttons only flash once when I press RST. Thanks!

count me in with this same issue on the PX6. My system was working okay, although i was getting a static sound from my speakers. Seller provided update file "HA2_rk3399_9.0_ota(20150529)" which i updated and now my system is in a blank screen and boot loop when i try to reset.
The reset video i found has a pin RST button, but on the opposite side of the head unit. I'm hoping there is a software fix for this.. cuz i just got this unit less than a week ago i think.

okay i'm not sure if it was a dim display or the sun reflecting on the screen, but seems like things were happening on the screen but not clear enough for me to see during the day. At night, i was able to reset it and update the system. now my system is back online but during reset it uninstalled most of the preloaded apps...

Hey, this also happened to me after the 20150529, which I guess was broken. How did you manage to access the recovery, if you did?
Thanks a lot

I wasn't able to get to recovery but it did erase everything and booted up. As I mentioned I tried it on the evening when I could see the display better. You can see YouTube video ID: b7kEy4XzQX0 for the method I used

No, I tried everything but in the end I had to return my unit.
Try to get into the recovery mode at first
Please try to long press the res button until the button lights blink 3 times and then release the res button, and then short click the res button one more time quickly. Now wait for the unit to get into the recovery mode.
Then you can update the MCU and system firmware, or just factory data reset in the recovery mode.
Any other solution??

If you open any explorer app or music app do not appear the two USB ports and a GPS named drive?
If so...there is a hidden sdcard port
If not perhaps exists but no sdcard inserted

Nothing found for sd card.. I am a little desperate
Then you will have to build a otg cable by yourself
And connect that cable to a PC and try to load the firmware by using rockchip firmware tools

Try each USB port if you can not find the SD card slot, usually there`s only one USB port can work for system updating.

[Need Help] Bricked Sony Bravia Android TV (KD-55X8000G)

Hi all,
I am having a problem with my Sony Bravia Android TV (Model: KD-55X8000G).
I updated the latest firmware (V6.6555) for Asia Pacific (I am from Singapore). Since then, the TV keep rebooting. So I tried factory reset multiple times but no success. Now the TV is just stuck in the Sony logo without any LED light.
I did some research and found that this symptom means the firmware was corrupted, which eventually led to my TV being bricked.
So how do I proceed in un-bricking it? Is it via the fastboot command via android SDK? How do I solve this rebooting / stuck issue?
Note that my model is out of warranty despite being 2019 model because this was a replacement TV for 800C model and followed the old warranty which expired on Dec.2019.
I checked with my local Sony services and the charges (including replacement of main board) will cost about SGD 600 to 800. So it is not worth the service; I can use this amount to get a new TV.
I find it a pity that the whole TV is redundant due to the main-board / firmware issues; the panel is still in good condition. So I am trying my best to look for solutions without having to seek the costly services from Sony Support.
Thanks in advance!
Hi, just download the latest firmware and install it (latest is 6.6.575) from here: https://www.sony-asia.com/electronics/support/televisions-projectors-lcd-tvs-android-/kd-55x8000g

Thanks for the info but I already did managed to solve the bricked issue with another method.
However, when I updated to 6.6.575. Many issues from the previous firmware still persist. TV will reboot randomly; some apps will crash randomly too.
Any idea to solve this issue?
how you solved the brick? I think you didn't solved it right when I read the issues you still have.

This is what I did after researching online:
1) You must first get a flashdrive / thumbdrive which must have minimal storage of 32GB and be formatted to FAT32.
2) Download the latest .pkg file from Sony support for your model.
3) Transfer the .pkg file to your thumbdrive.
4) You attempt a factory reset via power +vol down button. I am pretty sure that you know this method from Sony Support website.
5) If unsuccessful where you encounter the frozen screen, insert your thumbdrive while the TV is powered on.
6) After inserting thumbdrive, power off the TV by removing the power plug.
7) Attempt factory reset with the power + vol. down button again, and just let it run where it will show a white circle (may take up to an hour), this step is actually like a forced firmware update where the TV will factory reset and update from the .pkg file at the same time, hoping that it will re-flash / reformat your firmware properly, but if exceeds an hour, just power off and take out your thumbdrive.
8) Power on your TV again, and after a few minutes, it should be able to proceed to your welcome screen. but note that it will reboot again for second time, so don't enter any information for the first time.
9) For the second welcome screen, just ignore and skip all the settings until you come to the home screen.
10) At home screen, you just go setting and try to find the factory data reset and select that option.
11) After factory reset, just do all the settings shown in the welcome screen.
12) You are good to go.

but do note that I am still having random reboot after upgrading to the latest firmware.
When at previous firmware, I had random reboot, so I did factory reset many time but to no success. Keep factory resetting until it suddenly became bricked.
This explained why I was asking here for advice to solve the brick, but few days later I managed to research and came up with a method in attempt to bypass the bricked / freeze screen which was successful.
but now it is the random reboot which I am unable to figure out.
Do you have some Harddrives or some peripherals connected to TV? Have you done the step 10 in the guide you posted?
