Hello Everybody ! now i will Share tips how to Lock LTE Band on Samsung Galaxy device. With this tutorial we can lock Frequency of LTE Band frequency networks. so that the connection becomes more stable.
This method is specifically for Samsung Galaxy. Because the default hiddennetwork system application is available. for devices with other brands and types, I haven't tried it.
Please follow the following methods:
1. DOWNLOAD Force 4G LTE Only 2020 Pro application from Google Play
2. Run the Application
3. Select SIM 1 Only menu, then Hidden Activity
4. wait to load until 100%
5. tap the search box type Hiddennetwork
6. In the call setting section, there is a hiddennetwork activity.
7. Long Tap 3 options will appear: Create Shortcut, Launch Activity, Edit Shortcut. I recommend Select Create Shortcut to make it easier for us to enter network activity mode without having to bother opening the Force 4G LTE Only 2020 Pro application.
8. Please select Launch Activity to enter the system Network Mode to select network mode.
9. tap the three-line menu in the left corner. select Band Selection to lock LTE band. please select a frequency band then slide the toggle selection to activate it.
No need for an app to disable 5g. Simply change settings. No need to even disable 5g in areas where there is no coverage
I guess this should work? Refer to the screenshot attachment.

The best way is to use the official Samsung's tool. It's an activity you can't open without a third party app like Activity Launcher (free and open source).
Once downloaded you can launch an hidden activity with which you'll be able to lock any protocol and / or 4G / 5G bands you want, and make a shortcut for easy access.
Yes but this is not the question asked.
For my knowledge no one has released an app where you can force 5g only! There is also no Possibility over the Samsung Hidden Network settings! Yes you can choose all bands Manually but off course you need to know which specific 5g band is active in your area! Than every country and provider is using different band configurations. So that is why it would be great to have an 5g only Mode which is working automatically and fast.
If any one finds out an options to lock 5g only (not the Samsung band selection) please share it

The apps shows all that your phone supports, not the country or provider specifics. just select all and only the 5G NR, regardless.
On my side I've also got a separated 5G section which i presume we'll be able to set too (there's no 5G yet in my country so i can't test it yet).
It works for all the other protocols so there's no reason it doesn't for 5G.

The 5G Option on the upper left Menu from Samsung HiddenNetwork 5G MTSC has no Function just for your information. Even if you have 5G coverage.
Here in Germany 5g anyway is rolled out on several low band frequencies which have good coverage but low bandwidth. So in my case it's Telekom LTE Band 1 which is used for 3,5G band or H+ and also via DSS for 4g and 5g.If I lock this band I got only 4g Shown in the Status bar even if it's used for 5g.
Maybe later or in areas where high band 5g is available is available there is a chance of 5g only when you lock the correct band. I can only test with the 2100 Mhz N1 band but it's not locking as 5g only 4g.

That one
In Activity Launcher, search for 'hidden'
Mine is in French, but if i translate it well, it should be named 'Call Settings'
The package name is still universally named in English so a search with 'hidden should bring it.
Hello, since the second Android 12 update on my Note 20 Ultra 5g, I can no longer access the frequency band selection menu. The band I'm interested in is band 3. Here is the error: Hidden network setting activity not found on device. I emailed the Dev but haven't received any response yet. I hope this application has not been abandoned. The latest 1.4 update of the app is dated July 6, 2021. Hopefully there will be a new update soon.

I've been pulling my hair out trying to figure out why I'm not picking up an LTE signal when a friend on a phone tells me to just toggle to LTE in mobile network settings. The only problem is, that doesn't exist on my phone for some reason. All that appears in my mobile network settings is "Mobile data", "Data roaming", "Access Point Names" and "Network operators"...nothing to switch between networks. Why isn't my device displaying this setting?
Did you used to have LTE? Have you added the proper APN settings for your carrier?
Re: No option to toggle between networks?!
Yeah im running the same rom and my LTE works fine. You probably need to flash the K7 modem. There are no settings to switch. Only aosp roms have that option.
Go here to get the modem you need.

No i had an iPhone 5 previous to my note 2 so no LTE (carrier didn't have LTE for them until just a couple days ago.) I have added the APN settings correctly. There is an option within the APN settings called "bearer" where i have the option to select LTE but when i set it to that, i get no data at all so I have to set it back to "unspecified"
If your carrier only got LTE a few days ago your sim card/plan might not have LTE enabled. That possible in your case?
You are lucky I saw this! I just fixed my settings to reenable LTE like 5 minutes ago.
Here you go.

thanks anyways! I'm beginning to think that it's the ROM that's causing this issue so I'm going to try and go back to stock. Can somebody help me with this? I'm brand new to androids so I'm not very confident with everything yet. How do I go back to stock while staying rooted? and will doing this make my device carrier locked again or will it remain unlocked? I have already done a nandroid and titanium backup but I'm not sure what the next step is. If someone could help me out I'd appreciate it

so since my phone is from Rogers, would i download the Rogers modem even though I'm not using the phone with that carrier? and how do i flash it, with cwm?
In the"phone information" app, go to "device information" (first option) and from there you change the "set preferred network type" to LTE only or whatever you want. You can force lte, force Edge(gsm), basically any combo you want to do is available from this menu.

I download the app called "phone info" as the app "phone information" does't seem to exist. There is no first option called device information. As soon as i open the app, i'm on a page when its just a big list of my phones info
It was my ROM that wasn't giving me the option to chose a network mode. I went back to factory and viola it was there. BUT...no WCDMA/LTE option. Only GSM/HSPA. I've been told that there aren't enough towers to support all of the LTE devices, would this be the cause of LTE not showing up in the network mode? I would think that it would still let me chose LTE and just bump me down to HSPA if it couldn't connect. What're your thoughts guys?
Bump!
What CSC are you using? There are some CSC settings that could hide the "LTE" string in network settings, making it go from LTE/GSM/WCDMA, GSM only, WCDMA only to GSM/WCDA, GSM, WCDMA. That was only cosmetic in my case though. (Been a while since I've run the T889V ROM, I expect the I317M's to be similar in that respect.)

Hi all,
Just picked up the D855 euro version LG G3 and do not see any LTE options in the data section.
I only see GSM/WCDMA.
I entered the LTE mobile settings for rogers and only see "H", not even 4G...
Is there a menu where I can switch this ?
And will I be able to use LTE in Montreal on Rogers Wireless using the 700 / 2100 / 2600 bands ?
I notice it doesnt have AWS with 1700 /2100
I dont mind if it says 4G as long as I can get LTE speeds...
Any help would be much appreciated
Thanks
I'm seeing the same on mine (Starhub Singapore D855). I think 4G is some countries is considered a value added service. You may need to call it in and have it activated on your SIM. I plan to call them later today after work to confirm.
I got mine to work on Fido. I flashed the HKG firmware through the TOT/DLL method. Then I either choose band 4 or 7(can't remember) in developer settings (3845#*885#)
Flash method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2799647 (Go say thanks to wolfgart!) There should also be a link to a guide to flashing. Also here are some screen shots if they help.

Works perfectly

OMG, can you please tell me how you did that? I've been trying to figure out step by step and I can't do anything! I downloaded Flashtool and when I tried to turn off the phone and put it in download mode, after plugging it in and opening up device manager, I can't see "ports" thus I can't change port to COM41. I've been stuck at literally the second step of this complicated process. I really would hate to see my G3 go to waste. Please help as I'm on the Rogers network.

Hmmm, try re-downloading and re-patching the flash toolkit, maybe something got screwed up there? Also try another USB port. if no try using another KDZ like Germany. Also go through Wolfgarts thread maybe someone had the same problem there.
I'd be interested in seeing how this is done for Rogers too..

Very simply download the LTE On/Off app from the Google Play store, it allows you to set your network to include LTE, which the LG G3 855 does not do by default. Once you have set it to LTE/GSM/WCDMA you should be good to rock and roll. It worked great for me!
I needed Intelli3G to force LTE availability at all times else after a reboot (for example) it will drop to GSM/WCDMA only.

How to get to "field test mode: and see the Lte Band that the phone is connected ?
Hi.
LTE DIscovery app or any other app says LTE BAND UNKNOWN. I tried also *#*#4636#*#* and also at network type says LTE, unknown.
Do you know how to fix this ? Do you know how I can get to field test mode like in samsung code *#0011# ?

No no modification, no root. As it was from factory. Only installed all the push updates that asus made ...
I use this in dial:
*#*#4636#*#*
I don't know if this is the field test, but inside the first menu I can change the mobile network behavior.
Edit:
Sorry, didn't read all of your post, On my device the mode for 4g is "LTE/GSM auto (PRL)"
It connects in 4G and when the signal goes bad it reverts automatic to hsdpa.

Good question. Is a good idea to post on asus forum your question http://www.asus.com/zentalk/forum.php
If many people do that they may find a solution.
LTE,unknown if you want it fix, you gotta write a petition to your telco and get them to script it.
most telco won't bother to do that as it is not important value. what is important to network engineers are the decibels, the LAC, maybe CID, the list rate, the smsc number etc.

If you use nova launcher and set up an activity widget, one of the activities is "field test mode". Set it up on the home screen and click it. Or use shortcut master to launcg the activity. Either way takes you to a menu i hadnt been to yet and it may provide answers. It has 4 options: UMTS, UICC, LTE & ASUS CUSTOM. In here you can change your band preferences and switch usb from vendor to asus usb
Hey, this tuto is working for several user to activate 5G on unsupported 5G country by Google.
You need : Rooted phone, 5G Plan, 5G Coverage.
STEP 1 : Install the module on magisk to activate VOLTE and reboot.
STEP 2 : Install Network Signal Guru on the Play Store.
STEP 3 : Click on the 3 dots, Forcing control, select your sim card.
STEP 4 : Click on NR SETTING, and select on Opt2(0x10) and Opt3(0x01) on the ENDC menu.
STEP 5 : Restart the phone, if you are on 5G coverage, it should be working for you.
If your carrier doesn't allow you to select 5G preferred network on settings, you might have to select "NR/LTE/GSM/WCDMA" under Preferred network on the hidden *#*#4636#*#*
Of course, you do it on your own risk.
Thanks to Evan for finding it.
Actually worked on Hungary, Romania, UAE, Philippines, China, Thailand, Hong Kong...
Worked on A12 and A13 Beta.
It's beyond stupid that this brand new and undocumented menu was the key. I had previously played around with it and figured it was dangerous since it was difficult to revert.
As a note, T-Mobile US ENDC defaults to 0x11, using both 0x10 and 0x1.
Won't users also have to set NR/LTE/GSM/WCDMA in the hidden *#*#4636#*#* menu if their carrier doesn't allow preferred 5G in network settings?

Yeah, I just edited it with your mentions
Without knowing what 0x10 or 0x11 means, we're just guessing.
Overall, I'm not sure if this will enable 5G standalone in addition to NSA. That will definitely require carrier support at the very least.

I don't have this issue here, maybe it's a coverage issue ? We should notice that as we don't have a specified carrier file for our carrier (Vodafone HU for you or RO for me), network optimisation can be worse than if we were in a supported country...

what I was wondering is whether someone can tell me how to handle step 3?
I have finished step 2, but no "Forcing control" avaliable for step 3.
Do I need to pay the app to proceed with step 3.
Thank you in advance

For the life of me I cannot find when to enable 4g instead of 5g, there use to be a setting called preferred network type, but it's not here anymore I'm on A13 official.

My TMobile says carrier settings where your says operator settings, so that is odd too. Who is your carrier? Maybe try removing auto select network and see if you can pick LTE?

Not all networks allow it, i've not been able to change network type on any phone since moving to BT Mobile (EE) 6 or 7 years ago.

I just turn on the battery saver if i want to disable 5G and use 4G only, if i need to be turning off 5G i generally want to be streching out my battery life anyway.

Yeah, never thought of that tbh but iv no need for 5g at all anyways, my 4g is quite fast between 60-80 Mbps sometimes higher, on 5g it's wayyy higher and I just don't need it, I ran a speed test on my 5g and it sucked over 1gig of data within about 10 seconds lol mad

Thats because you did a speed test, the faster the connection the more data needed to get an accurate result, the 5G bit of it is irrelevant
In the normal world you wont use more data, you'll just see the what you want to see quicker, 100MB at 90Mbps or 100MB at 600Mbs is still just 100MB.
