Google Fi with SM-G9810 & G9860 - Samsung Galaxy S20 / S20+ / S20 Ultra Questions &

Been using both 9810 and 9860 on Google For since June with no issues.
Sometime last week, there was an update to the Google Fi app that broke the SIM detection on both phones.
When I contacted Fi support, the CSR gave me a blanket answer that those phones are not supported and tried to end the conversation.
I tried explaining that everything has been working fine for the last 2 months and it's a recent change that's causing the issue. The CSR didn't want to hear that and kept saying that the S20 and S20 plus are not supported.
I ended the conversation. Uninstalled the Google Fi app and installed an older version from July. Both phones are working again with no issues.
Anyone else facing this problem?

I'm using the sm-g986u1 on Google fi and have had no issues at all. The unlocked phone is listed as compatible with Google fi on their website. The network switching and vpn are listed as not compatible of course.

Now that Google fi sells the s20 as "supported by fi", is it possible to enable carrier switching on the non US snapdragon versions?
I've been using the note8 on fi for a while. I've experienced much slower speeds compared to the supported by fi phone I have. I'd like the s20 or note20, but need an unlocked bootloader.

Will I have issues with esim or physical on Google FI on the note or s20 ultra line non USA models ?

Will Fi finally support esim on Samsung S20 and Note 20 series?

LG G7 Plus ThinQ (LM-G710EAW) 6GB/128GB on Google FI

Have anyone been using this dual SIM LG G7 on Google FI?
I am in the process of switching to Google FI and have one LG G7 FI shipping to me. The one from Google would be fully compatible with the FI network. That means I would have VPN, network switching between T-Mobile, Sprint and US Cellular. However, I need a dual SIM phone for travel. I currently use a Samsung Galaxy S8+ Duos SM-G955FD on T-Mobile. This model of S8+ works fine but does not have WIFI calling.
Does this LG G7 LM-G710EAW has WIFI calling using Google FI. I know since this model supports GSM network only, it would not be able to do network switching between GSM and CDMA service but would the VPN work?
Any info would be appreciated.

Firmware type for Google Fi?

Hi,
I just got an S20+ 5G and have Google Fi- which firmware/CSC should I be using, or is there a difference? My cellular service AND wi-fi seem to drop out all the damn time using XAA (unbranded USA).

SM-N976V CSC Change to work with Verizon MVNO?

I purchased a Verizon Galaxy Note 10+ 5g from ebay last year to use for Total Wireless. Well the phone wasnt compatible with Total Wireless at the time and I had to switch to Verizon prepaid. Now the phone is compatible but I cant add APN's to the device because Verizon has greyed out the option. I bought a US Mobile Sim card so I can switch all of our phones over since it is cheaper and is a Verizon MVNO, but I cant get everything to work on my note 10+ 5g. I was able to download an app that let me add APN's and the LTE comes up but now I cant get VoLTE to work. Its turned on but when I make a phone call, it switches to 1x. This is a problem since Verizon is doing away with their CDMA Network. I have spoken to Verizon, US Mobile, and Samsung with no help. My other Note 8 will work just fine when I put the US Mobile Sim card in and my Samsung a71 5g wont work at all and wont let me add APN's even with the app.
I have been doing research and found out about SamKEY and bought some credits to change the CSC from VZW to XAA. I was in the process and it gave a warning about locking the SEC so I decided to do more research before I screwed something up.
The phone is unlocked but for some reason, Verizon phones have these issues with a Verizon MVNO. I can add the TMO sim card from US Mobile and it will allow me to edit the APN's without an issue but I get zero coverage here so I cant use it. So how can I change the CSC to get VoLTE working on a Verizon MVNO? Or can I even change the CSC on this phone? I am so sick of Verizon phones but Im afraid to buy an unlocked phone since It doesnt support all of Verizon's bands.

IDK about unlocking an US device. I prefer unlocked devices.
US unlocked versions of Samsung devices are called "U1". It's part of the model number/name.
E.g. SM-G981U is the US locked Samsung Galaxy S20 5g (like for Verizon), and the SM-G981U1 is the US unlocked version of the same device.

Thanks for the reply. I ended up selling the phone and buying a Google Pixel 4 XL. Saved some money and its unlocked. Ill never buy another Verizon Edition of the phone again.

Question What is happening with the UK release?

I was about to pull the trigger on the S22 Ultra but came across the X80 pro and did a lot of research - I'm now convinced it's the best camera phone currently on the market.
I noticed it's available on Amazon UK for £1200, but would prefer a decent contract. Has it not been officially released in the UK or why are none of the mobile companies offering them? Also saw it cheaper here, but it's from Hong Kong so worried about service in case there is an issue with the phone (got screwed by eGlobal some years ago):
Vivo X80 Pro 5G (Global Version) Dual SIM 12GB/256GB
Global version. 12GB Ram / 256GB 2nd batch pre order : Available to ship out 4th July, 2022
www.wondamobile.com
Its unlikely any of operators in the UK will offer the device (most providers will stock Oppo or Oneplus but never Vivo) and Amazon is your best bet or wait a few months for a discount
Odd. Best camera phone ever made, released for European market, and operators decide to skip. Samsung must be happy. Oh well, at least I will have something unique
I'm not sure about the policy of carriers in the UK with respect to provisioning VoLTE services for this phone. The Voice Over LTE (4G) toggle only appears in settings if the carrier's SIM enables the option. Without VoLTE switched on, you can connect on 4G and 5G for downloads, streaming, etc., but all voice calls will drop to 3G. Carriers around the world are beginning to shut down their 3G networks. They have all been decommissioned in the United States, and Canada is following suit in two years. T-Mobile in the US will provision VoLTE for this phone, but other American carriers won't. None of the Canadian carriers will provision VoLTE for this device. Without local 3G networks, if VoLTE is not enabled the phone will try to drop the call to a non-existent network and it won't go through. You may want to enquire with your UK carrier before ordering the phone.
I bought this phone last week from Amazon. I can confirm that VoLTE is available using the EE network.

S20 Ultra Carrier Issue

Hello, I recently purchased an S20 ultra. I have 2 questions regarding it if anyone can answer any one of these that would mean a lot to me.
1) What I've noticed is that the phone has Verizon apps installed by default and when I go into download mode it says Carrier = Att. So is it a Verizon carrier phone or Att one?
2)If it is a Verizon phone, How do I know that it's locked? I am currently able to use a non-Verizon sim. I am running Android 12 I haven't updated it to Android 13 is that the reason that the sim is working?
Thanks!
Edit: @Unreal_Hawkz has fixed my issue
