Help needed or rather advice needed - LG G7 ThinQ Questions & Answers

So I think I have a faulty or a failing usb c on my phone. I can't seem to get to fast charge anymore.. the estimated time for a full charge now shows 5 hrs plus but when I wireless charger it takes 2hrs 30 minutes.. is it advisable to get a battery change and USB change. If so would I be able to perform the change myself.

If you are realy use to solder that smal parts you can try
One mistake and your phone is usless.. I wouldent and im use to soldering..

Run defy to flat

May just be mine, but i was using my defy with co-pilot program for a 80 mile trip with a generic mini usb charger. Now it looked like it was charging all the way there but when i unplugged the defy the battery icon dropped to 20 percent.
Anyway plugged it back in for the return journey and it again looked like it was charging but after 4 mins it died and went black. Got home and it would not revive unless i did the Go McGyver method open battery surgey method to jump start the phone but had to wipe the full lot and start again. The only info i got off the screen was the e/ something cache could not be accessed.
Any idea's
Dave
That technique was not needed. It is used only when phone is in bootloader. If not you should have just let it charge for few hrs.

The phone would not charge the battery. it would only open the Motorola sign and stick there even after hours of charging. Needed the jumpstart to get to the reset screen.
make sure the charger is giving out 500ma or more. i have used 3 different cheap car chargers and they all work, but slow.
I've had the same problem. Cheap car chargers don't generate enough charge while you're running GPS. Get a quality charger or carry some spare batteries ... they are only about $6 each on EBay.

charge time 10 hour

if i charge my arc s from ac or usb it will need 10 hours to recharge, if i use a little when is chargin it start to lower battery, get really a little amout of energy when charging its not different if from usb or ac, do is this a thecnical problem i have to ask repair center or can be software side fixed?
You could try a different battery, it might have come to the end of it's life and just needs replacing. How long have you had the phone and / or battery?
its less than 6 month, battery monitor widget say is good health

There shouldn't be a problem with it then.
I know it means resetting everything, but you could try flashing the ftf again. It most likely won't fix it, but Sony would ask you to try a reset using pc companion before you send it back anyway.
I have clockworkmod installed but no unlocked bootloader, if i do a reset than can i restore everything from backup?

Yeah, you can. Though you'll have to root again and install CWM, it wipes everything with a fresh install.
10 hrs from USB is acceptable..but not via AC...something is wrong dude..did you try with different charger? try samsung charger..note and S2 and S3 charger allows more current hence charges the phone very quickly.
ok ive made a fresh install from pc companion repair service, updated to ics, now is really worse, i put all the night the phone charging, it charged from 25% to 45% after 9 hours, if i use the phone just a little when is chargin it dont charge at all but get low battery. im the only one having this issue? i assume i will have to send it to sony support but i would like to understand what could is causing this, THIS IS FROM ONE MONTH, BEFORE IS ALWAYS CHARGED FAST, AND FASTER FROM AC, ive always charged the phone from usb via pc, occasionally charged by ac from cigar socket inside my car, this was a cheap sub socket i bought for 5 euro, could it be this?
now i cant use the phone at all, if i put it on cant charge because battery is used more than how much is recharged, i have to keep it off and wait, hope that reverting to gb will make the chargin time a bit faster, i want to keep it still awhile before send it to sony

Got one last idea for you. Try a different usb cable to charge it. The cable might just have worn out.
It shouldn't be the car charger, as long as it had the same charging rate as USB charging or AC charging.
nope, already tried a different cable, i cant understand whats wrong with this phone, ive recharged it 20% yesterday, ive put it on airplane mode before sleeping and today at morning after 9 hour it is 5% battery
and sony support in italy is really bad, ive to bring the phone to a collect center that will ship it to the support center ill have to wait 2 weeks to have it back
i just discovered that charge time from ac is 7 hour, from pc usb take more than 20, if i leave the phone to the usb with the pc off the phone totatlly drain the battery i dont know how

You probably have a dead battery...Someone who has seen this problem before could confirm.
The way you write is pretty hard to read, so you might wait a while until someone does confirm this .
1. Never charge the phone for the whole night.
2. I had the same problem. I changed my charger and now, it is perfectly charging. Try it.

thanx for suggestion, how much do i hav to pay for a new charger??
But you said you left it to charge via USB cable on your PC and it didn't charge properly. If you used the same USB cable with the charger, then the cable might be to blame. You should try a friends cable before buying a new charger.
If the charger does not work with the same USB cable you used to connect to the PC, your battery is most probably dead.

Charging all night isn't an issue.
The battery will charge to 100% then drop to 95% and back up, will cause no damage.
Also smaller and often charges are better for the battery as it slows the formation of crystals so the battery holds its capacity longer.

If you have used 2 different cables to charge and none worked properly, that is probably too big of a coincidence. Your phone has something broken; it's either the battery or the charging circuit in the phone. You should take it to a specialized phone service to see what's wrong. They will also try charging it before disassembling, and if there's nothing wrong with the phone, they probably won't even charge you anything.
If indeed they have to disassemble it, you should ask them if there will be any visible differences once they assemble is back. I had a cracked digitizer on my old One X and took it to service and replaced the display+digitizer(they come together) and, although the screen was new, it did not fit as snugly as before, so you could see light leaking out the side margins of the display.
They probably had many of these phones under repair and should know if this will be the case with your phone.

[Q] Tab 3 10" won't charge, bad micro usb port?

In the past week, my wife's 1 yr old Tab 3 10" has become flaky to charge and as of last night we can't get it to charge at all.
Tried several cables and different chargers around the house, no luck. The port is very loose so at first i thought maybe it was just worn out and wasn't getting a connection. Tried the freshest tightest cable i have in the house and couldn't get even a moment of charging so i've ruled that out.(or it's more worn out than i can imagine)
Saw a suggestion about the 7" model to disconnect the battery for a bit to resolve a similar issue. Gave that a shot but no dice.
After that I noticed something interesting.. one of my chargers stopped working when i plugged her tablet into it. until i unplugged it from the wall for about a minute, it wouldn't charge anything else. 3 times it played out just like that - charger works, plug in her tablet, charger doesn't work.
Then I plugged the tablet into my Macbook Pro and things got really fun.. it shut down instantly and won't power back up at all(i'll deal with that later on).
So,.. my assumption now is that there's a short in the micro USB port.. does this sound logical to anyone? Or could an issue like this be caused by something else that's not as fixable?
This is really disappointing because we've been generally happy with samsung products.. but this just seems too soon to have an issue like this. At least it's easy to take apart.
Sorry if this is a common issue that's been covered.. couldn't find any info relating to the 10" model. Thanks in advance!

well, if according to my understanding of your description, that is what happening to me now.
You can try my method which is working for me.
If you didn't mess your boot partition up. you can leave it drain for like hours to days *I have tried to leave it for 7 to 9 days... * and charge it again, keep charging about 30 minute to an hour when you see charging sign, then proceed to Section B if you brick your device. If you don't, just start it up normally and let it charge up to 100% before you discharge.
>Drain the battery by leaving it uncharged for hours to days
>Charge it on, you will see charging sign
>Leave it charge for hours
>DONE!
OR
You can replace your battery

And I guess maybe you have a p52xx (Tab 3 10.1 from samsung and not fom tmobile etc.) , remember to use 2.1 A x 5 v charger. Do Not use Laptop Power to charge your device . It may be a bug or hardware issue for this problem.

Thanks for the response.. I'll keep it in mind for the future. For now, this did end up being a bad usb port.. i ordered the part same-day on Amazon and had it swapped in 10 minutes. as soon as it was back together it was charging normally again. kudos to samsung for not soldering the usb port to the mainboard!

alright then, congratz for you got ur device back alive again

Question Phone wont charge past 59 percent.

2 weeks ago i tried something stupid. I made a USB charger for my scooter from an old navigation charge brick for te car. without thinking i plugged in my phone and *poof* off. I thought it was strange because it has a limit of 5v and a fuse of 2a, so i thought it was within the safe area. I started my phone again, but when i wanted to charge it, it was really slow. (200 ~ 400ma). So i thought i fried my USB port, and ordered a new one. I replaced it but the charging problem still appeared. So i thought maybe its the battery, same story. ordered a new one but the problem was still there.
So i tried to re calibrate the battery by discharging it to 0 and let it fully charge while off. When the phone went of it didn't detect any charging and wouldn't boot. When i measured the voltage of the battery it discharged to 2.7V, i externally charged it to 3.2V and my phone booted again.
a friend advised me to return to the stock miui version and firmware version from when it came out of the box. So i did butt it didn't help me solve the problem. My phone think he is fast charging but the current is around 200 to 400ma and above 50 percent its at 50 to 120ma.
The last few days i am trying to find the schematics of the phone and especially the power circuit, i can find a few pictures, and there are a few sites that offer the schematics. But i cant seem to find out to download them from there.
Is there anyone who knows where i could find the right schamtics, or point me in a direction where the problem/defect is coming from?
Use original charger and cable?
Yes i did actually tried 5 different charges and 5 cables, a car charger, powerbank. I found the schematics yesterday and found out where the IC is located what may cause this problem. But i can only order it in china so i have to wait 2 3 weeks.
