Android 10 - can't change the system language - LG G7 ThinQ Questions & Answers

Yesterday I've received the Android 10 update via OTA.
Abs the first issue I've noticed was that System language had been changed to Românian after the update ( before the update it was in English).
Then I switched back to English from the settings.
But the issue is, that after each phone reboot the system reverts back to Romanian.
Any idea what's wrong?

I've had the same situation. From dutch to English. You can fix only with a factory reset. You could first do a backup with lg so and restore afterwards so you don't loose anyting stored on your phone.

Yes, factory reset fix it. Thanks

Damn, got the same with DE/EN locale settings. Came here hoping there's another possibility than factory reset, but I guess I'm out of luck

[Q] Stuck on LG Security Error bootscreen

Rooted my Optimus G and uninstalled Google Books and Google Music and when I rebooted I'm greeted with the LG Security Error screen. Tried the factory reset but that doesn't fix it. Am I screwed or can it be fixed? If so, how?
Thanks

I googled your problem. It looks like LG is rather dickish about debloating.
You might have to wait until some brick fix via ODIN is out

Maybe its possible for you to re-install the .apk's using push from adb...
download & install latest usb driver
download & insatall LG Mobile Support Tool
remove the battery from the phone
while pressing volume down button connect the usb cable and wait (about 10 seconds) in this mobe until SW upgarde is displayed on the phone
insert the battery back
perform a SW update via LG Mobile Support Tool
I don't have the optimus G but this helped me with other lg phone ; maybe will help you also
If the above metod don't work they are also other metods to try

^^non-removable battery in Optimus G
sorry I forgot the optimus g has non-removable battery.
try to perform a recovery from the LG Mobile Support Tool :
customer support/recovery phone
If this not works then you have two options:
1:wait until someone post an fix for this problem
2:visit an LG authorized service in your area

My guess is uninstalled with root explorer because when he factory reset it should of repushed them if they were still on the system.
Yeah, I uninstalled them. I also tried the LG Mobile Support Tool, all a no go. Sucks, I really like the phone, more so than my Galaxy S3. Just have to be patient and hope a someone finds a solution.

Go to AT&T and replace it lol still got 14 days
Can you access adb?
Couldn't access adb either after this happened, could before. I did solve the problem although I feel a little guilty how I did it since I know it is totally my fault. I returned it, said I was using the LG update software on my desktop and said it got half through the update and our power went out and it wouldn't boot after that. If the earlier post hadn't reminded me that AT&T no longer has a 30 return I would have waited it out in hopes of a solution, but I'm going on a business trip and won't be back before the 14 days are up. Thanks for all the help and ideas, this time I'll just remove the AT&T crap and not any Google stuff.
I have everything just frozen and no issue for me just dont remove anything as it might cause Software issues

if it was me I'd unscrew the back and take it out as long as it is not marked by a sticker or something it shouldn't void the warranty
read thoroughly " I WOULD DO IT" it's not a suggestion for anyone to do it, I'm just saying what's on my mind
I can verify that freezing, with TB, certain DRM-related apps will cause this problem too.
Sprint doesn't have the images from LG required to restore the device yet, and the guy at the store tried to take it apart to get the battery out so now all the glue is unstuck from the back glass and it's squeaky. I'm waiting on a replacement from them now. :-|

From what I saw of the Sprint guy's efforts they filled the thing with glue. I guess that's why it feels so solid
Another victim of this problem here. Any help would be appreciated. I was able to get to recovery menu from the phone, but not much can be done in there at this point.
Hop on the IRC freenode #lg-optimus-g we'll help u out!

Bootlooping after installing OTA

Hi,
I received a notification for a software update which brings :- Power Optimization
So I do choose to install it. It reboots, installs, reboots and now it's looping on the LG logo. I've not added any custom software or modified the stock OS in any way.
First LG phone and my phone is literally not functional after an OTA lol. Not a good first impression. Gonna try to see if I can reset it somehow. It's just that all this nonsense is waste of time.
D855 32GB
Edit:
Factory reset seems to have worked. Phone is functional now, but I have to go through the pain of installing and setting up everything again -_-
What is the software version after the OTA?

Drop back a firmware version. Or factory reset. Usually does the trick.. A ballache I know, but it'll probably fix it.

Lol seems to be a generic answer you give to everything on the G3 forum
Thanks guys... Such a pity as g seems good otherwise.
Plus i corrected my weird original post... Stupid auto correct on my phone!

well most problems are caused by people trying to upgrade(who don't want to lose apps and data). and the kdz method is for some to hard
but if you insist:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54809238&postcount=151
I got g via the normal OTA method.
Weirdly today after doing nothing to fix it, the freezing hadn't happened once! Very odd

QuickCircle case lost settings after MM update.

I've noticed after flashing 6.0 (Poland ROM) that the QuickCircle settings are no longer there. I mean, I want to set it to not unlock the screen when I open it, but I can't find that option any more. If I set knock code, or padron, pin, etc etc it works, only swipe doesn't.
Anyone with a QuickCircle case have noticed the same?
Thank you.
Happy New Year!

I flashed it over the previous rom and it started with factory settings, then I restored from LG Backup. If is this what you mean by full wipe.

I'm quite a noob since I come from a Lumia and bought this G3 over a month ago. Hence these questions.

You need to factory reset within the LG Tool. Then it should work
Hmmm... Ok. Gonna give it a try. Thank you.

Done! Didn't solve.
But, unless I'm missing something, there is no setting to disable KnockON either. It seems there are some settings missing in MM.

Lg G4 system update keeps running

The system update on my G4 keeps running as soon as it finishes it wants to schedule it all over again. Any suggestions on how to stop this continues loop. Help would be deeply appreciated.
Are you rooted?
Sorry I don't know what that means
Then you're not rooted.
Without being rooted you can't freeze the ota updates.
Steeler4ever59,
Were you able to resolve this issue?
No it still doing it. I just set the update for middle of the night and turn phone off before bed then I the morning do the same.
What version VS986xxx is running on your phone?

VS98629A
The later VS9862BA is newer, so maybe it's wanting you to update and won't quit reminding you.

It says update 1 of 2 I have ran it several times but it just doesn't take it keeps running the same update.
You can try manually upgrading/flashing using LGUP PC software to VS9862BA - the latest Verizon Marshmallow using the instructions in this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-g4/general/downgrade-mm-to-ll-lgup-t3322616
Don't downgrade to 13B (which is what the instructions were written for) and don't select refurbish in LGUP or it will wipe your internal storage for sure - select UPGRADE.
Make sure you backup your internal storage either way just in case something goes wrong and you have to start from scratch.
Don't try this until you're comfortable with the instructions.
