Hi, all!
Saw this XDA article and decided to try these new Nord's live wallpapers on my OnePlus 7T.
It worked and I've liked these a lot, so I decided to create a Magisk module to use them instead of having to overwrite my original wallpapers. Since it works for me I thought that I should share it with the community.
Download : https://mega.nz/file/a0oShD5L#RFrOmut6Yezjuup75-quwf71dHz5gK8NrXe8ELd9jGQ
It works on OnePlus 7T but should also work on OP7, OP7Pro, OP7TPro, OP8 and OP8Pro. Try it out and let us know!
Thanks for the effort but this did not work for me....

Does any error appear when you install the module in Magisk Manager?

nope, it looked successful but after a reboot i still have older wallpapers. I even selected each one and set them as previous wallpapers just in case and still not working
thanks bro
I did get them to apply but it only animates on the lock screen, not in the home screen when I swipe between pages. Is that normal? Using nova launcher.

Can't really understand why. Do they show up on the wallpaper customization instead of the previous ones - like in the image in the first post?

You're right, it doesn't animate in home screen, only on lock screen and on the transition from lock screen to home screen. I'm a user of Nova Launcher too so I went ahead and tested it with OnePlus Launcher and it also doesn't animate on home screen. Maybe it's the current behaviour (and even in a OnePlus Nord it doesn't animate) or it's a bug that occurs only in this context but I can't really tell since I don't have a device to test it.

I believe these animate during unlocking of device then stop to be a static wallpaper like the miui animated planet walls that start in space and zoom into a static location background.
Sent from my OnePlus 7T using Thebear Blue XDA Labs
Working perfectly for me. And yeah, it's just a short animation then locks into a static wallpaper when it's done animating. But that's probably how it's supposed to be.
works very well on OP7T, thanks!
So I watched some videos of the Nord with the live wallpaper applied and the way it's SUPPOSED to work is the wallpaper is static on the lock screen and doesn't animate until the phone is unlocked. I don't know if that can be tweaked with this mod but that's how it's supposed to work.

Yes, like the miui 12 wallpapers. They animate then zoom into a static image again.

Thanks works great.
If after using the magisk module, it doesn't work, go to the zip filer and find the OnePlus wallpaper resources apk and install it. It'll show up updated
Currently using Android 11 in my OnePlus 7T (via Open Beta 2) and this module still works without any change.

Hey all,
I have searched for this to no avail. Does anyone know of a way to change the lockscreen wallpaper without using the stock OOS launcher? I have tried it while rooted in different ways and it doesn't seem to work. I know I can install a custom ROM and be on my way but I wanted to know about stock. Thanks!

I just freeze the app and unfreeze it when i am done

I used an app I usually use to crop photos precisely when setting wallpapers, it turns out to be able to set lockscreen wallpaper as well. When you hit apply it asks lockscreen or home screen pretty simple.

Great recommendation, thanks!
Does anyone else have a slow fingerprint sensor? It's actually blazing fast, but the display takes an extra half a second to light up... From the lockscreen, I feel all the speed, but when it's completely of, it's slow...The sensor registers my fingerprint quickly (I felt the vibration), but then the display takes some time after...
I was wondering if anyone else had this problem. It seems to follow me on any ROM I go...
Thanks!
I haven't really seen it as a problem, but yes, the screen seems to take an extra half second to light up. Running RR.
Yes, I felt it since installed Beta 12

FIX!
This is a common bug in OOS. Use OnePlus stock launcher to set a lockscreen wallpaper. The issue occurs when you set a lockscreen wallpaper from a 3rd party app.

I can't stand the round icons that the Pixel forces to appear, often times they're just the app icon in an ugly white circle, especially for third party apps. Is there any way at all to disable them?

Here it is I had one made up for my mod pack. There's a couple of other tweaks in it. Faster led blink rate and no screen on for plug and unplug of usb cable. Clear launcher data after swapping out apk. You'll need root. Use a root file browser. Then reboot. Then clear launcher data and reboot once more. After that you'll be good to go.

If you try out the Android O beta 4 from Google that just released, it has 4 icon mod display options baked in....

Try lawnchair launcher. Is the same pixel launcher with added feature. One of them is using ur own icon pack. Also found that using latest beta (which support weather). Is actually SMOOTHER than stock pixel launcher. The developer did some tweaking to eliminate any lag or stutter on scrolling or swiping to google now page.
I've never encountered any lag or stutter on the Pixel while running stock. The phone hardware and kernel have been optimized for performance. Are you running any mods on your phone?

Thanks for the tip. I use Nova, the problem doesn't necessarily lie with whether or not the launcher supports icon packs. It's more that most icon packs lack support for every single app I have installed, and in that case I want to fall back on the app's default icon. However even if you switch launchers, on the Pixel those icons still get turned into these ugly white circles which is dumb. I have no idea who in Google decided that it was A+ idea to force that on people without leaving in an option to disable it easily. I mean for example I use the Acorn icon pack cause it's pretty af, but it stopped updating about a year ago and doesn't cover many newer apps. I don't wanna stack icon packs when the default icon looks just fine when not in this weird rounded mode that's forced on my phone. It's bizarre that we have to decompile and manually modify a value of a system app just to get rid of a "feature" that's not even slightly polished but is forced on everyone who owns this phone.

Good stuff. I immediately installed lawn chair so I never even looked. Good looks pointing that out.
Hey guys,
while I'm extremely happy with the phone (awesome screen, perfect fingerprint location IMO, general form factor), I've come across three little problems:
1.) The biggest "flaw": Using another launcher / wallpaper than the stock one causes the face-unlock to be slower. And if you set another launcher / wallpaper, there will be a noticeable delay when you turn on the screen: The wallpaper will take longer to appear on the screen than everything else.
2.) The time between hitting the power button on the right / using the double-tap-to-wake feature and the screen actually turning on is almost a second. Coming from the 3T btw, where it almost felt instant.
3.) I'm not sure whether it's a flaw but it's just something that looks strange: The greyish navbar when using a dark-themed app. (I wouldn't really call this a problem, it's just a consistency flaw you notice, while operating the phone.
So first of all: Do you have the same impressions? It might very well just be my phone and you don't encounter these problems. But in another thread I already read about the face-unlock time taking longer, when using another launcher / wallpaper.
Thanks in advance for any replies and experiences!

Thanks Lum_UK, but I already tried that one. I find it to be a bit slow in overlaying the "correct" color, i.e. the overlay isn't always there from the beginning when opening an app.
And I'm not interested in rooting anymore.
You can force it to just black in that app, which may be preferable to the grey, and avoids the delay issue.
Otherwise, probably not much you can do unless a future OOS adds new options.

#2 is because of face unlock. Disable it and it will be instant.
Personally i use ambient display + lift up display so when i pick the phone i can see the clock and if needed, the double tap to wake in that screen is instant too

You can turn off the animation in Navbar Apps as well. That way the correct color will load much faster.
I don't use Face Unlock, but everything turns on instantly for me.
However, the nav bar color oscuro the worst and I can't wait to get back to a good AOSP firmware. OxygenOS is great and all but missing very important features I just can't live (comfortably) without.

You're right! This means bye-bye then to face unlock, unless this is fixed. I'm using smart lock anyway. :good:
Thank you for all your replies so far! They really were helpful!
Now could you still say something about "problem" #1? Do you observe the same or is it different? So if you use another launcher / wallpaper, will the wallpaper take longer to load then everything else?
1. agreed, same exact issue here.
2. i dont have that issue. both FP and FU are pretty much instant. sounds strange. maybe factory reset is really the way to go.
3. yea i agree, not optimal.

3. Use the launcher you like. (Tested with lawnchairs and Nova)
At least for me, the wallpaper lag is gone!

For me this doesn't solve the problem. If the wallpaper is set through another launcher (Nova in my case) and if I use Nova, when using face unlock, i first see the lock screen for some split seconds and then it unlocks. If the lockscreen wallpaper is set through the OnePlus launcher itself, it skips the split seconds on the lockscreen completely and goes directly onto the homescreen which feels much more instantaneous. Also if I'm using a live wallpaper, like the nice new Pixel wallpapers which I wanted to use, the problem occurs even when setting the wallpaper through the OnePlus launcher and when using OnePlus launcher itself.
I've uninstalled the OnePlus launcher updates and tried to force stop it (although this wasn't possible as it seemingly wasn't even started to begin with), but nothing changed.
And yes, the wallpaper will often times take longer to appear on the screen than everything else, exactly like Dimitry from Hardware Canucks demoed in his review:
https://youtu.be/Kf93Nz_bgFs?t=7m48s
This looks very glitchy in my opinion but is of course rather nitpicky.
And as Sangraphim said, the time between hitting the power button on the right / using the double-tap-to-wake feature and the screen actually turning on is definetly prolonged when using face unlock - but that's probably by design I guess, because it starts the front camera first and waits a bit to detect a face before actually turning on the screen.

Can't do those things with the stock pixel launcher to my knowledge. However, a modified pixel launcher might do the trick if your rooted. Look in this thread, and talk to @Tulsadiver to see if he can make one for you. What exactly isn't Nova launcher doing for you? Seems to be working fine for me.

You can remove the Google search bar, resize the icons and choose how many columns you want in the all-apps area and how many in the hot spot on the home page by using my Pixel Launcher zip installer. Plus background colors and text colors.
Choose one of the bases for No-Google search, flash anything else you like, lastly, flash complete installation. There will be a zip file created on your sdcard in a folder called ozop. Flash that via magisk manager.

The search bar is not removable from the Pixel Launcher dock, and the Pixel Launcher does not support infinite scroll for screens. You'll have to use a custom launcher to do that, which leads to my question: what's not working properly on Nova Launcher? I've encountered no troubles with it on Android 10.
I have a Verizon edition so bone stock. Android 10 broke my adb command as well as the Custom Nav app. Hopefully issue is resolved soon.

I use 3 button navigation and when I display all the tasks , there isn't a 'close all' option. There isn't even an 'X' to close them individually. I sent a note to the dev and the reply was this is an issue for all 3rd party launchers until Google changes something.

I did notice this but didn't think it a big enough deal to mention. To remove an individual page however, swipe up. The recents screen is gesture-based.
If you're using a Verizon device, then there's no root for you at all unless you were lucky enough to get a device that mistakenly was unlockable. Verizon locks their bootloaders.
Thanks for the tip on the swipe up. I hadn't tried that and it works.
I am on the VZN network but bought the phone from Google. OEM unlock toggle in developer options seems to work.

Smart man. :good:
It's only if you buy the device from Verizon that you're screwed.
Hi, thanks!
Sadly, no ozop folder is created, after flashing one of the base no search bar and complete installation.
I'm using orange fox, also tried running the complete installation zip in magisk, no result.
Any recommendation I would appreciate, I can't stand the goog e search bar.
Have a good day!
Hi,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S9 (Unlocked) which is running Android 10. I was looking to remove the Google search bar as well.
All I did was long press on the bar itself, a menu then pops up with 2 options
1) Information about google search
2) Remove search bar from home screen.
So I press option 2 and hey presto it is gone. Have just done a reboot to check that it doesn't come back and it hasn't!
Could it really be that easy?????!!!!

On a Samsung it's possible as they aren't a Google Pixel and don't use the Pixel's stock launcher.
