Is anyone able to see Galileo satellites in the US?
It appears the phone is still blocking them since the fcc approved them a couple months before the phone came out. The GPSTest app won't show them for me.

Has anyone had a problem with lost GPS signal while using Nokia Drive? I took my phone out today to try this out, the outbound journey was fine, worked as well as I expected. But coming home back along the same route, I got the message that the GPS signal was lost after a couple of miles and nothing I did would get it back. Only after switching the phone off and then restarting near home did it start working again.
I'm hoping this is just a one off or perhaps nothing to do with the phone. Needs more testing before I can trust it for work.
I really hadn't had any problems with the GPS while using Nokia Drive on my L900. Could it have been the area you were in? I know some cities, especially with tall buildings, or even in the woods with tree cover GPS signals seem to suffer.
I would try it out again in some other areas and see how it does. If you continue to have issues, maybe a call to Nokia is in order.
Now that the price is dropping, I'm looking at switching to a s9 (G960W) from a lg g6. I'm noticing reports online in conflict with the specs; that people are not seeing the new Galileo satellites with the resulting higher GPS accuracy, and even some reports saying that their s8 worked but the s9 does not.
Is anyone here (in Canada with an s9 G960W) able to see the Galileo satellites in an app like GPS Satellites Viewer?
Short answer - no.
Not seeing any galileo satellites in canada on my phone.
Thanks guys. Hopefully that feature will become useable in the future.
I'm a little baffled why it's not working. ESA lists the Galaxy S9 as supported along with the Snapdragon 845. Samsung's product description page lists Galileo along with GPS and glonass. Are the mobile carriers disabling it in each of their firmwares?
Discuss all things S10+ related, for those who are in the UK.
Okay, so I got the phone yesterday on O2 contract, but having signal issues. I'm barely getting any signal, from 0-1 bar.
I had tested the phone with another sim (EE) and I get 3 bars, which is still poor, as I usually full bars on all networks in my area. Network coverage is perfect and no known issues in my area, as confirmed by O2 technician themselves.
I spoke with O2 CS and technician and went through all troubleshooting steps, resetting network settings, trying different Sims on different phones etc, but no go and was eventually told to RMA it.
Phone is up to date with the latest day one update. Could it be a software issue (O2 firmware?) or device issue? I have a hutch that it is a hardware issue and I got the bad batch, having been a early adopter.
Just wondering if, anyone else is having the same issues?
Hi I got my unlocked S10+ yesterday and am also on O2 with no signal problems whatsoever.
Sounds like a device issue to me, hope it gets resolved quickly.

I'm on virgin (ee) have 2 sims running (both virgin) and indoors on both sims 1 bar each only, haven't really left the house since getting phone yesterday (crappy weather) so will test today outside and if go out and about I live in rural town but normally get at least 3 bars inside so it's a little worrying

Thought i would post this here.
Here in the UK not all areas have 5G. But if your using your phone as a Sat Nav and pass through an area that has 5G. you may notice you lose GPS signal.
It takes a considerable amount of time to reconnect.
Spoke to Samsung and they are aware of the issue (Although they kept me going through multiple testing processes before admitting and telling me this)

No idea what update will include this fix. It does mean though i will have to lock the device to LTE signal to avoid loss in signal when traveling and using my device as a Satnav!

Yup thank you for sharing.
It is funny that they say "Note10+ 5G" signal is weak when using 5G.
Actually many reported the same with the other 4G devices...
This problem still exists with the T-Mo Note 10 5G that was just released. There was a day one update, but it didn't resolve anything.
T-Mo just pushed an update today that solved my GPS issues. Version N976USQU1ASL7. This should have been available on Day 1.
Never mind, the T-Mobile update didn't fix this. GPS still is nonfunctional in 5G mode. TMobile support is saying it's because the AGPS in the phone doesn't have enough data to triangulate position because there's not enough 5G enabled towers in my area yet and to wait until 2020 when more towers come online.

I quite literally almost pulled the trigger on it now I'm second guessing (again)

I'd wait until the Sprint merger and/or more towers are upgraded to 5G before pulling the trigger on this device. The GPS being borked affects too many other things on the phone.
I have the T-Mobile Note 10 + 5G and I am having no 5G GPS issues. I live in a 5G area and I use it regularly. Please note, I DID have GPS issues. I cleared the DATA for Google Maps in the apps section (not just the cache) and reset the maps app from scratch. That was right after the last update. My issue went away and never returned. I hope this will help you.
By the way, 2 points. First, most T-Mobile personnel are clueless about 5G. I have been speaking to them for weeks. Even Samsung support is iffy. But you could try them if this doesn't resolve your issues.
Second, the Verizon 5G phone and the T-Mobile 5G phone are completely different beasts. People want to compare them but the Verizon is gen 1 and the T-Mobile is gen 2 on 5G chips and they handle the switch between 4G and 5G completely differently. 5G on the Verizon is tacked on to a 4G chipset with the x50 modem while the T-Mobile has the x55 modem which integrates both. Any comparison is coincidence at best. As I said, my 5G phone GPS issues are completely resolved. I hope a reset of the Maps app will resolve yours. Actually, since the last update, ALL my issues seem to be resolved. I am one happy camper and there was a point in time when I was discussing an exchange. But no more.
For those of you who got the Note 10+ 5G via TMobile, how has your general data connectivity been?
Has your GPS been consistent?
I'm really curious about whether or not the Note suffers the same issues as the McLaren 5G does with non-existent GPS with 5G. Thinking if it's worth switching over if the issue doesn't occur.
I did previously see posts about the issue being realized and fixed by Samsung and that it had to do with GPS location handoff between 4G and 5G. Was this for the international models or the US versions as well?
Thanks

No GPS issues with my T-Mobile Note 10+5G. I have used it several times. My area has areas of both 4G and 5G, so if there were handoff issues I haven't seen them. HTH
My T-Mo Note 10+ 5G GPS has been non-functional since I got it on Dec 9th, even after a launch day software update. I just got another update this morning to version ASL7, but I haven't gone out yet to test it. Here's hoping it's fixed, otherwise this device is going back to T-Mo.
T-Mobile just pushed an update today to version N976USQU1ASL7, which solved my GPS issues.

Good to know, I might just get it now to switch things up a bit.

Never mind - GPS is still nonfunctional whenever the phone is in 5G mode. Switching to LTE seems to improve GPS reception, but it's still not as good as my regular Note 10's GPS was. TMobile rep is saying it's because there's not enough 5G enabled towers in my area so the A-GPS cannot get a triangulation lock.
