Joying MTCB HU, USB connections.

Just installed a Joying:
. SKU: JY-UL124 . Quad Core Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS Capacitive 7" High Definition for Universal Double Din . CPU: RK3188 1.6GHz Cortex A9 Quad Core, Resolution 1024*600. RAM:DDR3 1G, 16 GB memory
To my 2014 Australian Hyundai Elantra.
I waited to get the latest HU from Joying that has an unrated mother board and USB/ Comms board. With Lollipop 5.1.1. the unit performs very well with none of the problem previously mentioned on these pages. The internal and external mics are clear and the Bluetooth systems are perfect. Unit has been rooted and I don't seem to need for apps so I won't changed the software.
The dimming for the button and the screen to follow the vehicles rheostat was fixed by making a circuit to invert and amplify the rheostat output to the HU ill line. Work's well, Kudos to the guys at the Subaru forums.
I had one bug fixed by Joying when the GPS nav was muted whenever I plugged in the DVR front camera. Joying quickly sent me a link to re flash my firmware and the problem was fixed. I have them currently looking into a bug when I view the DVR input shown on the HU I get lots of flashing to the screen in all pixel settings. I have been told this will be fixed in the next firmware update soon.
One problem that I can't solve is when I try to use my vehicles Multimedia Jack located in my center console. There is a Aux and USB jack there. All wiring from console to HU is complete. If I connect a USB stick to the Jack in the console then then HU struggles to connect and gives up. If I interrupt the USB plug and socket behind the HU then I am able to use the USB correctly. Looking at the car wiring diagrams there is a amplifier cct behind the Multimedia Jack supposedly to amp up the USB to HU. Doesn't seem to work?
Any ideas appreciated.
Duke
If anyone has any ideas on
i have nothing to add, other than interested to see what the result is. Are you saying that your car comes with a built in hub in the console, and you are trying to make that USB port in the console work to the Joying head unit? my vehicle is similar, and I would like that to work as well
Update
Yes I have a console hub I guess.
The book calls it a multimedia center. Just an Aux port and a USB port or Jack in the tidy bin in the center console. If I by pass the Jacks and directly put the USB stick into the USB tail from the radio then it works fine. When I plug into the console port it tries to read it and fails. The HU then reports a read fail, have tried other known working USB sticks.
I have inspected behind the console jacks and found a cct board attached to the Jacks and then to the car wiring. From looking at the diagrams of the car previous to mine I see a cct board containing what looks like an amplifier. Tracing the car wiring to the radio input connectors seems to be OK and the wiring correct. Voltages at the radio connector are right in that there is 5v +ve, negative - earth and the center pins are data as they should be.
The console Jacks

The wiring for same (mine is same but more complex)

Really bugs me not to be able to access that USB input Jack esp as the radio is a great unit.
You need to post this question in the MTCD (Lollipop) hardware thread. This thread is for MTCB (KitKat) units. The hardware in the MTCD headunits are very different than the MTCB headunits.

Am I still in the wrong section?
Yes, the MTCD thread is for the headunits with 5.1.1. The hardware changes and software are different. Send one of the admin a message and tell the why you need to get the permissions to post. I had to do that some time ago. Just make sure you follow the rules when post or you can have you account suspended or whatever the moderators deem necessary.

Ok thanks for that. I don't seem to be able to find how to "Send one of the admin a message" Can you help?
Just for info, there are both MTCB/C and MTCD/E Lollipop units.

Windows CE double din headunit

Hi there
Got one of these units, mainly the ouku one.
it has key+ and key- steering wires, does anyone know if an autoleads patch cable can drive this?
I drive a ford focus 2003 mk1 facelift. already got an autoleads steering interface I used for my previous headunit, if there was a patchlead available then it would sure make life easier.
I read somewhere that these units can react to pioneer or panasonic patch leads. This true? makes sense since it works on voltage drops.
any help greatly appreciated.
No worries! worked it out.
Anyone who drives a ford of my year either in the US or UK. then basically the steering remote has 3 wires from it, one is speed control and not needed (green/white), the other two are the switches. simply wire up these two to key1 (key+) and ground. and you should be set. Thankfully these are just analogue switches, and will work out the box.

Zeepin DY7098 is an "universal 2DIN Head unit" i dont think canbus is an option but you can ask at your seller for it. For "full canbus" i think, you need a custom Peugeot 307 Head Unit
I found this infos on italian DME website:
"For peugeot vehicles (eg 3008/5008) that mount the on-board computer display just above the car radio (see photo below), you must purchase the kit (code KITPEU3008 / 5008) necessary to restore the information that this display - during the installation of the car radio - will be permanently removed. Warning: the information on the car radio is restored in English and it is not possible to translate it into Italian. KITPEU3008 / 5008 kit can be ordered at the time of purchase. (for eBay customers just request it when ordering)."
Articles code are for DME Peugeot Android Head unit. I think same is for your unit.

I think I'm not expressing myself right. In internet, we can see some videos where some person control A/C on Android Headunit, can see car info like belts, lights, temperature, without use any OBDII, just with CAN connection... Is this what I'm searching understand how it works...

For what i know all these functions are controlled by CANBUS decoder/box (the one specified for vehicle brand and model) connected to Head unit: you can see the doors status (open/close), check A/C functions, etc. etc. CanBus box/decoder make all the job.
Cant help anymore.

SWC and CANBUS with Seicane P5 Octacore

Hi everyone,
I am trying to get my steering wheel controls working for my 2013 Volvo XC60. I purchased a P5 unit from Seicane and updated it with HAL9K Mod V4, which made the unit very stable with no issues. The only problem I am having; which I had before the update, is that I cannot get my steering wheel controls to work. The unit came with what looked like a CANBUS connector as part of the harness, but no box. Looking at my Volvo wiring diagram, I only have one wire for steering wheel control. When I connect that wire to KEY 1 or KEY 2 and try to program a button, it randomly ask me to select a function to assign a key.
Going through the wiring, the harness creates a bridge with the wiring harness for the information screen. It bridges off three connectors to the stereo harness and the connector that looks like its for a CANBUS BOX. The three wires are 2 CANBUS lines and a line that goes to the steering wheel remote. Since my vehicle is 2013, I think that i would need a CANBUS decoder box and that the unit should have come with one. Again, if its not needed, the only thing I can think of is bridging the lines from the CANBUS lines & steering wheel control wire that pull from the vehicle directly to the head units 2 CANBUS input lines and the KEY 1.
Sorry if this is confusing. Just seeing if there is something I am missing.
Please let me know if there are any details that I did not provide that would help solve the issue. Thank you.

PX5 Heating problems when canbus adapter is plugged

Hello,
First of all sorry for my bad english.
3 years ago i bought this very head unit https://www.amazon.fr/Wekuo-Android-8-0-Lecteur-2015-2016-2017-Autoradio-Bluetooth/dp/B07GH48P59
It's running latest Hal9K Android 9 version.
Since one year back i started using less times my car but i noticed that after a while of driving the speaker would sound weirdly, some coil whine out of the speakers directly, but i never try to solve the problem...
Some months ago i could only start the car, drive 5minand then a very very lound noise from the speakers...
I changed all 4 speakers to brand new Focal.
What is the problem ?? Actually i was testing everything out of the car using a PSU , even changed the thermal compound and add computer fan to my HU...
At first i wasn't able to start the UH with PSU, then i find out because CANBUS i had to hotwire the ACC wire so the HU will start, and it did...
It runs cold as winter..... (which is perfect, and even pluged some speakers and sound is perfect)
but when i plug it back to the car it gets hot even if nothing is being used... and i mean i only plugged it to car power, even speakers were not connected..
Car battery is brand new, same as the one before, (fiat original parts), car alternator is working fine, also the problem is present with engine off or on.
I really thing this is CANBUS related, but from where ? from the can bus little red box adapter ? something else from the car itself ? ? actually this is my second HU on this car, and the old one i was able to start it with PSU without bypass ACC from CANBUS
It's a Fiat Tipo from 2016, it's original radio was the uconnect 5. Should i try to connect everything together and perform a new proxy alignment using fiat multiecuscan ?
I am getting very angry because this situation, i hate driving and not having music lol
If i can't to anything i thing i will erase the canbus from the HU and just use ACC, but i will lose canbus and steering wheel buttons as well..
PS: i sent message to the HU seller (i don't expect any answer after 3 years) because 2 years ago i chose bad MCU file and had some problems but after hal9K helped me finding the original one (i think) but i had a few bugs at the time i don't remember now, but i don't think this is the problem but if ' could find the original file i could do that aswell..
And actually i want to update to android 10 from hal9K.. but first i need to solve this problem.
Someone already had this king of problem ??
Thank you in advance.
