Well, the 7x was intended to launch with Oreo, but it arrived before Huawei was able to finish EMUI 8.
And all Honor devices launched with EMUI 5 will receive Oreo with Treble (Honor 9 and 8 Pro already have)

I try many methods online and non worked, I search and no luck to backup current ROM before doing any root to device in case something wrong happen.
so I need to backup it, rather then try and search and download it.
maybe it's going to complex, current ROM is Android 7.1.1 NMB26.54-94
Seems no one is using this smartphone.
There is no way to do it or what?

It seems there is quite a few people wanting it. I wouldn't be surprised if someone made it. But I also wouldn't be surprised if it didn't get built. I have a bricked s3 sgh-i747m that I want to fix and use again. Maybe if no one else makes it, I will.

he is working on los15.1 but it maybe needs lot of work to fix the boot ,los 16 looks easier and takes less time to build because other devices which have los 14.1/15.1 works on 16 without problems like 15,1

Ya, I heard los 16 is easier to build. If I had the smarts, I would try.
It's not a matter of who can do it, it's a matter of who wants to do it.

i want to build either los15 or los16 but or even my own build os los14.1 but i cant get that to build. always throws errors
I would like to do it but I don't know much about this. Maybe we can port the Sony Sp lineage Os ROM?

I'm just wondering (and forgive me if this has been answered) will there be any lovely roms for our devices?
is the B variant Exynos or Snapdragon? If Exynos looks like Dr. Ketan already has one for you.
If Snapdragon... you may be waiting a while.

We're Exynos variant. The rom that he created isn't for my version..unless it can be flashed upon it?

ah so the 'international' LTE-only is F, and the 5g version is B?
I only know that my Korean 5g model is N976N , but no idea what the LTE-only equivalent is there.

Hi all,
Was wondering if any variations on the Samsung kernel were available to flash. I only ask since I want to get the S20 FE but it doesn't support aptX codecs in software (LL is what I am really looking for), so I was hoping that someone might have a hack to fix this, that can either be done via root or a new OS flash?
Thanks all, and happy rooting!
S20FE supports aptX codec, there's an option in developer settings for choosing b/w bluetooth audio codecs.

Think we're getting confused between carrier unlocked and bootloader unlocked in this thread. Bootloader is a no.

Hello, it's not very clear for me, but I guess we need to disable Android Verified Boot (AVB) before rooting with magisk.
Is it possible to create a patched a vbmeta.img ? Or someone has one for the G781B ?
On my redmi, i can do this fastboot --disable-verity --disable-verification flash vbmeta vbmeta.img with the original vbmeta.img. Does it work with samsung S20 FE 5G?
Thanks.

If you flashed only patched boot.img and didnt boot due to vbmeta check then you need to flash vbmeta_disable.tar you can find it on xda. or patch the whole AP tar, magisk will do it for you.
rooted
OK I basically followed this walktrough
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s20/how-to/howto-root-s20-series-upgrade-firmware-t4079353
except the stage 3 (Disable Android Verified Boot)
Only unexpected thing was it booted to recovery after sending the magisk_patched.tar. I format the data from recovery, just to be sure.
Now my S20 FE 5G is on latest firmware and rooted :good:
Thanks !
