FireTv Spontanousely scrolls and stays to the right

I have a FireTV (2nd Gen) that always scrolls to the right (in any screen) and will stay there. If I try to use the d-pad to move to the left, it struggles and fights. Sometimes, I can select an item to the left. This scrolling to the right happens even when the remote has no batteries in it…eg the fire will do this with no input.
Upon reboot, it works ok to select the language (I'm assuming because it is a vertical scroll bar), but scrolls all the way to the right on the network selection (horizontal scroll bar).
Specs:
I have installed TWRP 3.0.0-5, KingRoot and started with pre-root version 5.2.1.1_r1
I have since upgraded to
sloane-5.2.4.0-rooted_r1 to see if it would fix the issue (it did not)
Was previously rooted before installing version 5.0.5.1
Troubleshooting steps:
I have tried 3 different remotes with new batteries and same result
Upgraded from 5.2.1.1_r1 to 5.2.4.0_r1 (from https://forum.xda-developers.com/fire-tv/development/firetv-2-sloane-prerooted-stock-images-t3309783)
After upgrade, I Performed TWRP Factory reset using Wipe then Select the “Advanced Wipe” option and check the boxes for “Dalvik / ART Cache”, “Cache”, “Data”,
I did some searching and see that this issue does occur from time to time on firetv sticks, but haven’t seen any mention on the firetv (box).
Any guidance? Any other logs or anything that I can share to help with the troubleshooting.
Is there any way to clear the box and start over to clear up any corruption?
Thank you!

Stuck at "welcome to prime" screen

I had jailbroken firestick.
I asked to install new version and did factory reset.
Now after I setup the firestick with my account, Im stuck at "welcome to prime" screen with only continue button active. When I press the button I return to same screen or some error page.
Cannot select any options using remote.
I did factory reset multiple times but I end up in the same place.
Prime video on mobile app can see the device and play the video directly but I can't get to Options.
Is there a way to install latest OS from a computer. I don't think I can use adb.
Thanks

What stick generation do you have, i.e. what is the name of the device? montoya, tank or mantis?
I have got firestick 1, good news is after using different account that is without prime subscription I was able to update the firestick and use it.
Thanks.

Can't factory reset TCL 43C725K

Hi all , I have a TCL 43C725K and was very happy with the TV. I also bought a Nvidia Shield TV Pro for the front room, after watching some videos I decided to install the wolf launcher on the shield and it's working fine. As I liked the new launcher I thought I would install on my bedroom TV Iie the TCL 43C725K, all was good untill I turned off the TV. I sat down yesterday and turned it on and I now have some white text in the bottom left corner which gives lots of info about the TV. I tried all sorts to remove it but couldn't so I went to do a factory reset in the menu, when you get to the part that says erase everything it does nothing,. I have looked all over the TV for a reset button but can not find one. Does anybody have any idea how to rectify this problem as the wife is not happy
- Select “Settings >Picture >Advanced setting >Brightness , Scroll down to “Contrast”
- Type number 9735 (remote without numbers...press virtual keyboard button)
- Select “9-Sita P mode” and turn OFF
- Or Factory menu->Factory hotkey ...disable

F.A.Q. and useful guides for TCL TVs [Flashing, Firmwares, etc]

Hello people, since discussions about TCL TVs are very populated, and sometimes it's difficult to find what one searches, here's a bunch of posts that can be useful to everyone.
Some questions are asked constantly so I decided to collect them in a unique thread.
First of all.
This is how to read Firmware information.
This is important because it tells what kind of FW you have, so that you know which one to download.
This is the difference between Android TV and Google Tv firmware.
And again, the difference between Original and Custom Firmware.
So be careful on what you choose.
Remember: You can change ANDROID TV into GOOGLE TV only with IMG file.
OTA will not turn ATV into GTV.
Once you find the proper firmware for your TV, you have to properly prepare a USB drive.
Remember to use FAT32 formatted USB 2.0 drives on the 2.0 ports of the TV.
There's an important difference between IMG Update and OTA Update.
IMG FILE WILL ERASE ALL THE APPS!
If you are not satisfied and want to downgrade to previous Firmware, ALWAYS USE IMG.
Prepare the USB and install IMG or OTA.
These are the 3 methods for OTA update
This is the method for IMG file.
Another guide for IMG file
Remember: IMG WILL DELETE APPS AND SETTINGS.
After installing the new firmware, remember to "Reset all" and "Reset shop" from Service Menu
You will have a perfect clean installation!
This is how to enter the Service Menu.
Yet another guide for Service Menu.
TV Settings > Picture > Advanced > Brightness > Contrast and type
1950 - General Service Menu (Design Menu)
9735 or 6428 - Subsection Factory Menu
9705 - Subsection Service Menu
6405 - subsection Hotel Menu
6425 - TV Running Time and quick access to reset (Reset All and Reset Shop)
Remember: DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING ELSE ON SERVICE MENU!
Use it only for Reset all & Shop. Use it at your own risk!
If you notice some strange writings after the reboot, you may need to DISABLE "Sita P Mode".
So enter the service menu and
Select “9-Sita P mode” and turn OFF
Or Factory menu → Factory hotkey disable
If the TV is stuck on Recovery Mode after reboot, unplug and wait for 10 minutes before plugging it again
Your TV is ready now... here's some general tweakings to enjoy it!
Calibrate colors following this video!
I will upload my colour settings as soon as I can.
Speed up your [GOOGLE] TV.
Video is from a Sony Bravia but it works on Google TV too.
Enable Hands Free.
That means: how to switch the mic on or off.
Hope this guide will help you find immediately what you're looking for.
I will try to keep this guide updated!
I wish to thank all the people involved in this forum, especially mr @stasiof for helping us all...and for constantly repeating what I wrote in one page only

Android TV won't load or reset

Hello,
I have a Philips 50PFL5766/F7. If I go into settings and select reset (there is no physical reset button on this unit), it doesn't actually reset the tv. Once it reboots, the personal Google account is still there. The TV doesn't boot into Android TV at all, only to an HDMI source. The TV attempts to process a Google update (989MB) on startup but it seems the file is too big or it's corrupted and fails to complete. I've tried deleting individual apps to make room to process the update but on reboot, they reappear. It's as though the OS and data are locked and read-only.
Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated!
