Hi there everybody, I just switched to a S20 with 990 and I really liked the phone but stock camera sucks, I tried to use ZGCAM but the selfie it's not working, does anybody has a mod/config where it works?

Hi, actually stock is far better than ZGCAM, you can read everything about that here include some front settings :

Without root Front Portrait won't work in my knowledge. Also without DotFix u will get ugly dots in images.. Rear Cam

Anyway I think that's the best version we can have for non-rooted users

That's what i said above.. :silly:. Even with Rear Camera u will get dots everywhere

Not yet. Use gcam for front portrait the result is incredible
Selfie cam should work when u turn off the HDR
I've been using GCam on my Mi5S with great success, taking some incredibly photos with the back camera, but I'm certain the selfie/front camera isn't making use of HDR+.
Has anyone managed to get it working? I can't get the option to show up when I switch to selfie mode, and the dynamic range is way too low and noise too high for HDR+ to be activating.
It requires android 8.1 and up. Almost all gcam modded app works on our device.

Oh what the. But... I definitely had HDR+ working on my GS7 on both front and back cameras, both on Nougat and Oreo.
So if I flash an 8.1 ROM on my Mi5S, I should be able to activate HDR+ on the selfie camera?
Update: Flashed LOS 15.1 but HDR+ still doesn't work on front cam.
Anyone else got any suggestions?

What version of gcam did you used? Almost all gcam mod works on our device.You can try arnova's or tolyang's. Those versions works well with hdr+ on front.

Thanks for your reply. Version I'm using is GCam5.1.018-Arnova8G2-V1.5Beta2.apk.
Is there a different one that's recommended? Or can I change some settings to activate it?

It's initially for the S10 but it worked on the S9, I have downloaded DAY version and I modified the settings as said in the website. Portrait is working well on my S9.
And finally go to developer settings and check them like this screenshot below.

Does the Portrait mode works on Front camera? inst working for me on my S9 SM960F [ EXYNOS]. Despite this, the rest of the functions work perfectly. I have already installed and configured more than 10 different versions of GCAM for Exynos processor and I did not succeed with portrait mode with the front camera, does anyone know which one works?

I personally use the selfie live focus of the stock camera, it's much improved after June update and the edge detection is perfect.?

I really don't like de blurry effect and the lack of HDR and definition in the stock Samsung camera app. Iam on the june patch and really miss the Gcam app. The gcam app still works fine on my Galaxy s7 edge (one UI Pie custom Rom), but no way to work on the S9 with stock rom.

I didn't understand, what do you mean by blurry effect?
I installed this cam on my s9 g960f .. but i am unable to do the settings.. camera goes black when i open settings

Just turn off the skin tone, I personally get decent shots with mine... And make sure you wipe the front camera before using it, there might be some fingerprints.

Oh, I thought he was talking about the selfie. The stock camera app is sharper than gcam and HDR is much better as far as I've seen, gcam just darkens all the shadows and the processing looks overdone.

Yea I had the same results with gcam
I know a lot of people used to think the stock camera was oversharpened, personally I think some images look a bit soft on auto, but pro mode especially using raw and editing in lightroom you get an amazingly sharp detailed photo

I don't think it over sharpens, the sharpness is on point, and I personally edit my photos with snapseed, the results are great !

I would like to add, gcams hdr is much better in handling the lights and details. I prefer that one but the shadows are overdone, any way to fix that?

It is working except night mode. But neither 7.2 night mode was working to me..
I don't know which is better.
Tried the 7.3, there's no so much difference IMHO in comparison with stock camera. Daytime stock is better ; low light can't see great improvement.
Camera quality isn't so bad, of course if you shoot in low light ambient results are far from the Pixel 4 and latest iPhone.
Okay so i stumbled upon a working build. It's latest stable from Arnova. Everything works out of the box(for pics, haven't tested videos yet) with the latest fw for s10 lite. No tweaking needed.

You have to find an option to turn on the wide angle, it's in advanced settings.
I'm currently using an Urnyx05 version. I also use a "Lib patcher" where I turned up sharpness a bit.

Same here.. Also I'm not sure if there is any improvement vs the original camera. Both looks almost the same to me.

I don't know, I've installed Urnyx's 7.2.010 v2.3 version and it works.
It's slightly better. Samsung app makes everything oversharpened and flat for me.
I've found new version which fits me most.
I was looking for a 6.x version that works on our S10 LIte. For me the 7.x mods are ok, but nothing special.
Gcam 6.x was much smoother.
Finally - I've found Fu24's mod.
It's the "Gcam_6.1.021_Advanced_V1.6-Fu24_5Lens-02b6.5-A10.apk" file.
It's full of advanced settings, there are some configs available.
Here you have some samples.
I was using stock config + Pixel 2 XL setting for back camera.
Later I've switched to LGV40 config.

At least when I shot in RAW, the quality was way better - I got a sharper resultant JPEG, with less noise.
Slow-Mo did not work for me with GCam.
You can't enable wide-angle and telephone lenses too - the moment you enable them, the app crashes.
Does this work on non superzoom x3

There is an inversion of the buttons between the ultra wide angle lenses and the zoom.

I just tried it out and it's not working now. It worked when I tried it out in the beginning of 2021, but now it's not working.
