Just tried to put a rom on my phone (the Revoltion latest) forgot to flash the boot first and now I've screwed my phone I think.
It just keeps rebooting and not loading up. I can do the hold down power and down to get the the pre recovery bit, but it wont let me flash the boot (says the phones not charged enough, but I can't charge it enough because as soon as it charges a bit it goes into the boot loop). It also won't let me go into recovery to get to my saved state or even let me reset to factory settings.
Any ideas??
Sorry if this is in the wrong place
Cheers all

Yeah but it wont let me flash the boot, it says it fails because remote: battery low, but my battery wont seem to charge enough as it's just in this boot loop all the time
If I click on power down, it just starts up again
Go to fastboot..
Fastboot erase cache..
Go to recovery and you can charge your device on latest cwm recovery and twrp recovery..

Thanks, but I don't have the option in fastboot to erase cache
in fastboot my options are:
hboot
reboot
reboot bootloader
power down
In hboot, my options are
Recovery (just reboots again)
Factory Reset (reboots again)
simlock
show barcode
Image CRC

It's through cmd in your pc. Fastboot erase cache should be familiar if you often flash boot
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
You can read this for fastboot..

Edit: anyway, this kind of question should be on q&a section..

Ah I see. I can't seem to get a cmd box up for it though
Clicking on fastboot-windows brings up a cmd window for a split second, but it's gone right away, there's nowhere for me to type
Ah wow, for some reason now it's finally let me get into recovery. I'm flashing my restore back, hopefully that'll do it
I don't know what I did to sort it, but thanks for all your advice, it was something there that helped
Edit: All sorted now. Thanks so very much!
In future remember that you have to flash the boot.img through fastboot with a rom.
If you don't know how to use fastboot then read up on it, there are plenty of guides around
Make sure your fastboot files are in your C drive on your PC.
Then go click once on the folder then press shift and right click and click open command window here.
Boot your phone into bootloader
Connect your phone it should come up on the screen with 'fastboot USB'
Now on cmd type 'fastboot erase cache'
Get the boot.IMG from the ROM you have and put it in the fastboot folder on your PC
now type 'fastboot flash boot boot.img'
Done

Did you unlock bootloader?
1. Connect the device to the computer through USB.
2. From a terminal on a computer, type the following to boot the device into fastboot mode (or restart pressing power+vol up):
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
3. Once the device is in fastboot mode, verify your PC sees the device by typing:
Code:
fastboot devices
4. From the same terminal, type the following command to unlock the bootloader:
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
If the device doesn't automatically reboot, reboot it from the menu. It should now be unlocked.
5. Then you can flash the recovery what you want. In fastboot mode, type in terminal:
Code:
fastboot devices
6. And flash the recovery. Type:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery your_recovery_image.img
Good luck

Hi, is it wrong to wipe the system partition before flashing a custom rom? Coming from stock ColorOS, I've wiped all dalvik cache, cache, system, and data, then flash a custom rom but it ended up getting endless bootanimation unable to boot into the custom rom.
I did unlock the bootloader with the adb code, flashing a temporary recovery was a success but endless bootanimation happened after flashing a custom rom. The custom rom was successfully installed according to TWRP's log.
Pls advice, thanks in advanced
P.s: I was referring to my friend's device X9076
Hi, i tried in the past some roms than not works, phone stuck in boot animation. The roms wich works for me and my x9076 with r63419 are:
Omnirom (6 or 5) THE BEST
Project Spectrum
Cyanogen 13 (modified version for new panel: http://community.oppo.com/en/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=44907&extra=)
Miui
If you install CM13, you need to flash unified partition script for CM13 (you can find it in the same post from the forum Oppo Community)
For the other roms i dont need to flash anything else than rom and gapps.
Now i give a chance to CM13, but i think that i will get back to Omni if developers dont fix the mobile radio issue.
Cheers
Can anyone guide me please, 1st time i bought MTK phone Oppo F7, its update automatically but suddenly dead like stuck on logo and restarting again and again, i didnt ever flash MTK phone, neither i have any android tool like MRT dongle or any other flash USB or Box... Kindly guide me step by step how to flash with which tool only USB cable and PC... Thanks in advance
ZE551ml "continue the fastboot process" prompt in fastboot, can't boot into recovery
I tried to go back to stock rom from CM 14.1 Unofficial following this youtube tutorial : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inzG5MLS2y4
I downloaded 2.20.40.196(Latest Android L) but couldn't find appropriate recovery for it.So I searched xda and got one.
I followed this sequence:
1.) fastboot flash recovery (name of recovery).img
2.) fastboot flash boot boot.img
3.) fastboot flash fastboot droidboot.img
the boot.img and droidboot.img being extracted from the stock rom itself.
But after flashing, it shows "continue the fastboot process" in blue and selecting recovery option reboots the phone and brings it back to fastboot.
I CAN ACCESS FASTBOOT MODE,MY DEVICE IS RECOGNIZED BY MY PC.
But there is no recovery.
Kindly suggest what to do in relevance to my post.
Should use Asus flash tool. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3452082

down load zip file and extract it. place extracted files in adb fastboot tool folder. in empty place right click and open command window here. now run the following commands
fastboot flash splashscreen black_splashscreen_551.img
fastboot flash token bom-token_ze551ml_2.20.40.184.bin
fastboot flash dnx dnx_ze551ml_2.20.40.184.bin
fastboot flash ifwi ifwi_ze551ml_2.20.40.184.bin
fastboot flash fastboot droidboot_2.20.40.184.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
after it reboots to boot loader run the following command
fastboot flash recovery recovery_sign.bin for stock recovery
or
fastboot flash recovery TWRP-3.0.2-Z00A.img for TWRP
after flash now use volume key to navigate options at top of the screen and select recovery mode and reboot to enter recovery mode. ( you may see android logo with error. When you see that screen. Press and hold power button then click volume up of down button and release both button)
now you can update stock via adb sideload

cool down buddy. it was for informational purpose only. he was already using commands to do so. i just told him the correct way.
second for using AFT he have to download raw firmware. which is more than 1 Gb of data which will be costly if he is using mobile data to download. as he mentioned he already downloaded LP firmware from asus. with above method. he will be able to install the earlier downloaded zip file without any additional firmware download.
third as he mentioned he was on CM. i doubt installation with AFT might not be successful. he may have to flash stock ifwi and recovery and boot etc...

Good to know that was helpful.
I was starting the process of installing a LinageOS ROM on a new or practically new Pixel 3 XL. I completed the stage where I installed the LineageOS recovery image using flashboot mode. When I got to the ROM install part I found I was in fastboot mode and no matter what I try I am only able to go to a blank screen or back to fastboot mode. I have made several attempts to get out using "flash reboot" or "flash continue" and one other I found in a forum. Nothing has worked. I am able to change the menu and get Start, Reboot Bootloader, Recovery Mode, Bar Code, and Power off. None of these options get me out. Anyone know a way out of this situation? Thanks
Try
Code:
fastboot devices
fastboot reboot

Thanks for the quick response. I have tried those commands. Unfortunately it did not get me out of fastboot mode
I have an Europe OnePlus 7T, with bootloader unlocked, PixelExperience A13, PixelExperience recovery, and important data on it. Whenever I try to do the "fastboot boot recovery.img" command the phone gets stuck on the OP logo with the "Fastboot Mode" text under it splashscreen. I tried this with TWRP, OrangeFox, some other custom recoveries and even stock recovery but it still didn't work. I don't really want the PixelExperience recovery since it doesn't have many features and is kinda limited in terms of modding. Last OS that i had is OOS 12 and I think that the new update also changed some hardware stuff so that it blocks custom recoveries (even tho PixelExperience recovery works perfectly)?? When I do "fastboot boot PErecovery.img" it stays on that same splashscreen for like 10 seconds and boots into recovery normally. Flashing any other recovery soft-bricks the phone and recovery says that the OS is corrupted? Does anyone else have this problem? Also, if you have a solution, please say if it includes wiping the phone beforehand.
Thanks in advance!

I belive the command to temporarily 'single' boot into recovery without flashing should be:
Code:
fastboot boot recovery name.img
and to actually flash the recovery:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery name.img

Thanks for your response. My phone is currently bootlooping so I can't test this yet, but when I resolve it I'll get back to you.
