Just tried to put a rom on my phone (the Revoltion latest) forgot to flash the boot first and now I've screwed my phone I think.
It just keeps rebooting and not loading up. I can do the hold down power and down to get the the pre recovery bit, but it wont let me flash the boot (says the phones not charged enough, but I can't charge it enough because as soon as it charges a bit it goes into the boot loop). It also won't let me go into recovery to get to my saved state or even let me reset to factory settings.
Any ideas??
Sorry if this is in the wrong place
Cheers all

Yeah but it wont let me flash the boot, it says it fails because remote: battery low, but my battery wont seem to charge enough as it's just in this boot loop all the time
If I click on power down, it just starts up again
Go to fastboot..
Fastboot erase cache..
Go to recovery and you can charge your device on latest cwm recovery and twrp recovery..

Thanks, but I don't have the option in fastboot to erase cache
in fastboot my options are:
hboot
reboot
reboot bootloader
power down
In hboot, my options are
Recovery (just reboots again)
Factory Reset (reboots again)
simlock
show barcode
Image CRC

It's through cmd in your pc. Fastboot erase cache should be familiar if you often flash boot

Ah I see. I can't seem to get a cmd box up for it though
Clicking on fastboot-windows brings up a cmd window for a split second, but it's gone right away, there's nowhere for me to type
Ah wow, for some reason now it's finally let me get into recovery. I'm flashing my restore back, hopefully that'll do it
I don't know what I did to sort it, but thanks for all your advice, it was something there that helped
Edit: All sorted now. Thanks so very much!
In future remember that you have to flash the boot.img through fastboot with a rom.
If you don't know how to use fastboot then read up on it, there are plenty of guides around
Make sure your fastboot files are in your C drive on your PC.
Then go click once on the folder then press shift and right click and click open command window here.
Boot your phone into bootloader
Connect your phone it should come up on the screen with 'fastboot USB'
Now on cmd type 'fastboot erase cache'
Get the boot.IMG from the ROM you have and put it in the fastboot folder on your PC
now type 'fastboot flash boot boot.img'
Done

Boot into fastboot (volume down and power) plug in lead.
In command prompt, navigate to adb folder and type: fastboot erase cache
If this doesn't work then more information as to what you have done will be needed before I can help you.

i tried that but no luck, (and what imformation do you need) what i did was i used Android_Revolution_HD_Super_Wipe_One_X but i done a stupid mistake instead of flashing Android_Revolution_HD-One_X_6.0.0 after the first thing i did .i rebooted the phone then i lost i cwm and couldnt access it and just stuck on the boot load menu and i cant even do factory reset even from their,
if you need more imfo plz ask cause am so scared lol
Erasing the Dalvik has absolutley no bearing at all on accessing CWM, that wont be the cause of the problem, as suggested you need to boot to fastboot, from there relock ya boot if you unlocked it and run the correct RUU for your phone which will rewrite recovery and everything back to stock.
Make sure in future, especially if flashing custom roms you research the instructions first, failure to do so is what leads to trouble and youre in the best place to get help, Xda community is the best.

(glad to hear that) am not very familiar with the technical jargon, if its not a burden could write a step by step guide on how I can do that please
Don't panic its not a brick.
Hold power 7 seconds to restart phone, when off hold vol down to enter HBOOT.
Once in HBOOT press power to enter fastboot.
First try 'fastboot erase cache' and then 'fastboot reboot-bootloader' this should do the job, if this don't work, reboot into fastboot and try below.
On your pc open cmd and change directory to where your adb and fastboot are. Once there use 'fastboot oem lock' your bootloader should now say Relocked I think.
After that download RUU specific to your handset and run. This should install fine and return you to stock.
After done you may need unlock bootloader again, I did via HTCDEV and then reflashed recovery with 'fastboot flash recovery *recovery name*
Job done, phone restored, panic over
Credits to jdroid of cardiff for this helpful post....

ok i will follow what said(as for unlocking the bootloader would i have to go through htc dev all over again
Not if you still have the bin file they sent you. Just push it bk to the phone as b4
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
First, you need to download the rom from htc, find your version in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1543604
then ejecute it, and go to this folder: %temp%, find a folder that contains a ROM.ZIP file, inside you will find boot_signed.img and recovery_signed.img.
Now do this:
-fastboot erase cache
-fastboot reboot-bootloader
-fastboot flash recovery recovery_signed.img
-fastboot reboot-bootloader
-fastboot flash boot boot_signed.img
-fastboot reboot-bootloader
-fastboot oem lock
then go to FASTBOOT SCREEN and run the downloaded RUU.
sorry, what file you talking bout.

O2 means an operador or it is your CID? If 02 its your cid you can try the lastest 1.29.401.11 RUU.

(as for stock software it wasnt the one told you when i got it,i updated using my phone via ota)
Please help!
I`ve installed a stock kernel because the previous kernel wasn't working well, but now my phone keeps rebooting.
It starts up and after the "htc one x" logo is showed it reboots.
This is the kernel I've installed:

And I'm using a stock ROM (1.29)
I'm sorry for asking, but I'm not that experienced with loading kernels so I'm a little stressed out that I've bricked my phone or something..
Can someone please ~give advise?
did u flash the modules?

There are essentially three steps to flashing a new kernel:
Flash the new kernel using fastboot flash boot filename.img
Erase cache using fastboot erase cache
Reboot into recovery and push the new kernel's modules by installing the .ZIP file from your device's SD card.
Tnx for your reply man!
Only now I have a different problem..
My phone doesn't start at al!!
I had to work today so I left my phone on the charger all day, to try your method tonight.
When I tried to start it up the only thing I get is the red led blinking a few times and thats it..
When I left my phone on the charger last night it looked like it was charging (red led burning continuously).
Anyone any ideas what's the problem now? (and how to fix of course )
-update 5 min later: now I don't even get the red led blinking anymore )
-update another 5 min later: strangely enough the led blinks again
In the meantime I'm back in the bootloader! :good:
What now?
Can you really simply explain how to flash the boot.img?
I dont understand how it works exactly..
Sorry for being so ignorant, but if I was foreseeing this sh*t I would never have touched my kernel
thanks in advance!
1. download boot.img and modules zip from the link
2. copy boot.img to fastboot folder.
3. open cmd, cd to where your fastboot folder is and then type:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot erase cache
4. boot phone into recovery, mount USB storage and copy modules zip to your phone
5. unmounts USB storage and install modules zip from recovery menu
6. reboot phone and it should boot

So I've booted my phone in the bootloader en then selected fastboot. Then I leave it there and open the CMD on my pc
The boot.img is in the my downloads folder.
So in CMD I should type: C:\Users\Jan\Downloads>fastboot flash boot boot.img
And than it says that the command is not recognized...
to be more specific, it says: fastboot is not recognized as internal or external command, program or batchfile

you copy the boot.img to the same folder that the fastboot files are in
Edit: you should really READ the INSTRUCTIONS before you act. if you unlocked your bootloader to do some modding, which you would have HAD TO DOWNLOAD THE FASTBOOT FILES AND PERFORM THE FASTBOOT COMMANDS FROM WITHIN THE FASTBOOT DIRECTORY

Yeah I know.. I'm stupid as hell and I have learned a lot. I thought I knew enough, but apparently not..
But now I want my phone to work again, so excuse me for asking, but where are my fastboot files?
I've unlocked my bootloader using the method on this site:
http://onexroot.com/one-x-root/how-to-root-one-x/
But when I copy boot.img in the folder that guy uses (foldername: oneXRoot) the cmd 'fastboot flash boot boot.img' still fails.
I feel really bad, but I really hope you guys can have mercy and patience with me...
the fastboot.exe is in the OneXRoot folder
open cmd, cd to that folder and then run the fastboot command:
cd c:\users\jan\downloads\onexroot
fastboot flash boot boot.img
As shown in the attached image. Sorry if we sound rude, but as I have found out in the last day or so..... there are just some people that don't read instructions, and/or don't understand what they are doing (when all info that they need is in the Rom-dev section)
In other terms. You have to have your boot.img in the same folder as where your adb and fastboot files are
To check if your on the right track, ctrl+rightclick on a blabk space in a folder and select "open command window here" then type fastboot?

Thanks for al your help you guys, but now I know what's really wrong with my phone.
I've a wrong version of clockworkmod installed. In this version the usb storage function doesn't work, so I can't place a new ROM on my phone.
I wanted to install a working version of clockwork, but now my battery is drained! (at least below 30%) :crying:
I tried to load the battery, but that doesn't work anymore.

Hate it that the one x has got a build in battery
I really don't have a clue what to do now. The only thing I need is a charged battery, but it looks like theres no way to charge it
I'm not gonna buy a new phone because my battery is empty
dont worry when your phone is completely out of juice you will be able to charge it... happened to me while i was stuck in bootloader myself...
yeah I know, there has to be a way, but the only question is how?
I'm thinking of opening up my phone and charge it with a power supply.
Back in the days with my old HD2 it would be easy...
Im sorry if this has been answered so many times but ive spent about 4 hours looking around and i couldnt understand half of the solutions that were out there. My problem is that i attempted to root my htc one x and i succeeded. Then i tried to put the new jellybean 4.2.2 cyanogen10.1 mod nightlies or something like that. This failed terribly. I have no back ups or anything what so ever. I dont care about anything i may have lost, i only want to get the phone working again. I know i should have researched this further before trying, but yeah... if anybody has done the same thing and solved there matter i'd be so grateful. it still responds on fastboot. heres some info on the bootloader screen. I tried factory resetting it, clearing the cache...none worked.

You place the boot.img file from the CM10 rom.zip (its inside) in the fastboot folder on the pc, then you put the phone in the bootloader
Open the command window in the fastboot folder(point in the fastboot folder hold down shift + right mouse button- open command window here) and type
Fastboot erase cache
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
Fastboot erase cache

Do you have HTC syncmanager installed on the pc ? Uninstall it but leave the drivers when asked !
Reboot the pc and the bootloader....check again.
And you should have a myhtc in the device manager when the phone is plugged in the pc

I do not have the rom installed whipe date was given not know what to do! only is the screen fastboot, HBoot, Reboot
First, open the rom zip file in your pc, you will find a file called "boot.img". Extract it to your fastboot folder.
Now from the start menu, type "cmd", and using the commands "cd.." and "cd (folder name)" find the folder with the tools.
Restart your phone with power while pressing vol-, enter fastboot. Connect it to your pc via USB.
Type "fastboot flash boot boot.img", it will push an flash the file.
Type "fastboot erase cache"
Now if you are using CWM recovery it's possible to mount your SD, do it and put the rom zip file on the phone internal memory.
Now enter recovery, wipe dalvik and install zip from SD card, find the rom zip and choose it. It will install, reboot and voila!

No, don't let the battery go empty or you will have more problems.
Boot to bootloader and follow the steps in previous post. Don't panic, everything will be fine.

OK, the problem is that i can't go in the fastboot on the phone, the phone is stuck like in the image below. I'll wait battery to be finished and then recharge it. Or, it is another solution? thanks

Don't let the battery to die, just hold down power for 10 seconds and it will go off. Now hold vol- and power until you enter bootloader mode. From there select fastboot and follow the previous instructions.

I have google apps in a .zip, but no way to access them. My recovery won't load. It's stuck on "checking SD card update..."
How do I fix this or have I turned my phone into a paperweight?

I've been running CM for several months, I've never had Sense 5. I installed the new CM Nightly, and it wouldn't boot, so I had to factory reset my phone and flash an old version of CM. It booted, but the Gapps didn't install. Now when I go back into my recovery (Clockwork), it won't load properly.

Ok. Does it matter that I'm using a different computer than the one I used originally?
How exactly do I do this, does my phone need to be on or off or what's the story?
Thanks very much.

I had great trouble doing it the last time. It took me several hours and I came close to bricking it a few times. I'm pretty technologically incapable. It's my bootloader thing that won't load anyway, so that's no use to me.
Is there any chance you could be a saint and compile together detailed instructions for me? If not, no worries, but I'm a bit of an idiot.

extract the fastboot zip file and put it in your desktop.
put your downloaded custom recovery inside the fastboot folder. rename it to recovery.img
boot your phone into bootloader press power button+volume down. dont release until you see this.

If you hold shift and right click in side the fastboot folder, it will open a cmd window in that location.
To navigate in cmd you use the CD command
E.g
CD C:\\ will take you to the root of C drive.
CD C:\\fastboot will take you to the folder "fastboot" and so on.

Ok, I've figured out what I was doing wrong. I had my phone plugged into the USB while trying to load the bootloader, and of course that wouldn't work. All is well now, thanks very much.
