Note 8T global version - MI 11.0.2 - Redmi Note 8 Questions & Answers

Hi
I have a proximity sensor issue. Firstly, there is no longer an option to turn off the proximity sensor in the Phone app setting>incoming call setting page. According to online posts this is the way to overcome the blacked out screen during a voice call. Also tried doing the proximity sensor test under CIT but the phone does not initiate any test.
Does anyone have the same issue and ways to overcome it?
Thanks
Rod

My wife's Ginkgo (Note 8), too... :crying:

Seems that latest MIUI Global 11.0.9.0 solved the proximity sensor issue.

[Q] CM Proximity Sensor issue

Hey guys just downloaded the, "stable" 10.1.3-l900 from CM website and for some reason during calls my phone freezes up after the proximity sensor activates. However, there's no option to disable the proximity sensor in the stock dialer so now I can't hang up or use the dialer during a call as the screen is simply stuck on black. Anybody have a fix for this?

Redmi note 5 ai global version proximity sensor issue

Hi everyone, I have issue with proximity sensor, when the autobrightbess is off during incoming or outgoing call, the display turns off with delay (after 3 seconds i put the phone on ear), if i turn on autobrightness proximity sensor works properly and display turns off immediately, tried to calibrate in hw test and in other programms from play market, no result. Does anyone face such issue. Can i fix it or thi is hardware problem.
No such issue here, try factory reset or update if you are not in latest firmware

Proximity sensor not working in Redmi Note 8 Pro !

Proximity sensor is not working at all in my Redmi Note 8 Pro. Screen remains always on during calls. I have tried to calibrate it through CIT menu but the value remains to 5.0 even hovering over it. Please, help !
Unfortunately I have the same problem, rotating the phone horizontally and back vertically sometimes helps to automatically turn off screen during calls... or... pressing power button :/
For me sensor problem "only" occurs in 50% of connections

how to disable proximity sensor

Hi,
my Redmi Note 8 Pro shows problems when starting a phone call.
The display gets dark and cannot be reactivated without restarting the device.
I suppose the proximity sensor is not working properly, so I would like to disable it to confirm my idea.
But if I try to find settings for incoming or outgoing calls in the phone app there is nothing similar.
Does anyone have a hint for me ?
Thanks and best regards,
Erwin
Hi,
same problem here with Redmi Note 8.
I also tried PixelExperience ROM but same behaviour.
Sensor calibration in CIT can't be done because "Calibration" and "Test" buttons are greyed out.
"Proximity sensor test" app says that the sensor is always sensing something even if not covered by anything.
Are there any other possible fixes or is this a hardware defect?

Click to collapse
make a backup of build.prop
and add those to it and reboot
Code:
ro.lge.proximity.delay=25
mot.proximity.delay=25
if still same bug add this
Code:
gsm.proximity.enable=false

SOLVED:
After numerous attempts ranging from removing the glass film to calibrating the sensor through root, I solved my problem in a very simple way.
Go to SETTINGS>LOCK SCREEN>WAKE LOCK SCREEN FOR NOTIFICATION and disable this option to solve your problem.
