.... Since the latest security update to ATE7 on my s20 ultra UK unlocked the auto rotate had gone from the drop down menu? Can't find it anywhere...

You can add or hide stuff from the drop-down menu. Swipe 2 times down and press the three dots. Then select button layout I think it's called, en there you can add or hide buttons.
Swipe down twice to reveal all the choices. However it is not called Auto Rotate if it is off. Look for a greyed out "Portrait" button. As soon as you activate that it changes name to Auto Rotate with different icon. Took me days to work it out.

Some roms (like sling) have a very useful but useless feature, but I don't know the name! I'm looking for the name to see if I can find more information about it and how to edit it.
The thing is, when you press one of the 3 virtual keys and hold it and swipe up to the screen, this feature comes, but only showing Google now and quick memo, which can be found in other shortcuts as well, so I would like to know the name of the feature, and if there is some way of add of edit apps or shortcuts there.
Thanks in advance!
Here is a picture of the feature

got it, it's called "Navigation Ring". thread closed
I just got my hands on the device and I love it. One problem I am finding is that I can not remove a widget from the Shelf. Is there any way to delete widgets from the shelf?
Google first before posting here.
Long press the widget and swipe it away to the side.
I've tried that, swiping right doesn't work for me.
Bump.
This is a real issue, at least affecting google apps. Any advice would be appreciated.
Long press and then swipe.
Get another launcher.

Long press and swipe right is the method but...the trick is to swipe before the gray frame appears.
So:
1) long press andd keep pressed
2) swipe right just aftyer one sec.
Thanks! Everyone says swipe but the trick is waiting only one second before gray frame appears. Thank you for pointing that out..
Note: if you want to disable Shelf (like me). Just long Press on homescreen, you will see three buttons (Background, Widgets and Edit), select Edit and disable Shelf. Don't forget to Save settings by clicking on right top corner...
Can anyone confirm if the fingerprint gestures (tap for home, swipe left to go back, swipe right to enter multitasking view) work on Moto G5? Or is a feature exclusive to the Moto G5 Plus?
They work and work very nicely.
You need to activate this in Moto app.
Wasn't aware of this feature, enabled it now and enjoying the extra screen space!
yes just seen this video on researching moto g5 motion gestures is also available on the normal Lenovo Moto G5 too https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sbJoqHQ1WkI
Yes it works fine. I like the regular software buttons better though. But it's an option you can turn on or off.

I use the One button/fp nav - so the soft keys are hidden EXCEPT for the keyboard/gboard is openend ->> soft keys pop up!! Does anyone know how to prevent gboard from doing so??
No idea :/ Did not do this to me - but as I could not get rid of the extra row in gboard, I installed NextApp Keyboard and disabled gboard.

Related to gboard: in my phone the gboard app randomly flickers (very slightly - you do not always notice this) - i got rid of this by disabling hardware overlays in development options.

It does this when you have multiple keyboards/languages active, so it can show the keyboard icon that switches between them to the right of the recents button. To remove it, afaik you have to disable these extra input methods :/

No. Even with only one language navigation soft keys still pop up.

What about Google voice? Counts as another input method. I mean, just click that icon and see what options appear there. To remove the icon and the bar, have only one of those enabled. Unless there's no icon and it's just the soft keys, then idk...

I think I gotta try this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/general/guide-hide-navigation-bar-status-bar-app-t3509747 Update: this doesn't work to hide soft keys of gboard. And you were right it works with only one language enabled, but i can't live without 2 languages..
If I install a third party keyboard, can I disable every keyboard that's preinstalled, so the navbar won't pop up anymore?
yes. Settings -> Languages & Input ->Virtual Keyboard -> Manage Keyboards
After you have activated the 3rd party keyboard - you can disable the GBoard in Settings -> Apps -> GBoard -> Disable
This way it won't be updated (saving bandwith and small amount of battery each time new version comes out).
Anyone else wish you could swipe down on the fp reader to pull down the notification bar?
I wish you could customize all of them
I randomly go through the setting today and i found setting for gesture including double tap to check phone, swipe fingerprint for notification, lift to check phone beside the old double press power button to launch camera. This is the first time I see these gesture appear, but none of them working
October update ?

This Option Doesn't Appear In My "MI Xiaomi A2 Lite" As It Is Already Updated On October Patch.
I dont see this in my settings too. I think it has to do with where your country is
Im still on September update with magisk installed, but i have no module related to this. I'm currently in the US
No new gestures in Germany with October patch.
Got swipe fingerprint in UK but not others. I have an imported device that has double tap to wake screen hardware which by default is switched on and can't be turned off (yet here). Not complaining, I like the feature.
Gesture with fingerprint reader appears after second November update (~50MB size). Lift to check and double tap to check - never seen them. BTW I have the device with double tap to wake which could not be switched off, the same situation as @p3108
By chance what's the build number you have? I have two Lites on different builds, both on the November patch, only one has the options for swipe and jump to camera. The other only jump to to camera
you need have OPM1.171019.019.V9.6.11.0.ODLMIFF which is 2nd november patch, with lower version there is no option for finger print gestures.

Thanks... I never met anyone with EBBG model type with D2TW yet. Not sure why xiaomi didnt apply this gesture to all Mi A2 / Mi A2 Lite
Just to clarify all the questions, I install the stock Rom after install the android Pie gsi, and some how these appear in the setting. This happens twice, this is the first time, the second time ot actually work with raise to wake and some other (i don't remember) from Havoc os. Im not sure how it works or how to make it happens again
Seems the swipe fingerprint for notification is gone in pie.. hopefully thats temporary, I was getting quite use to it

I just updated my Note+ to Android 10. Ever since the update, I'm unable to get the fullscreen. I have enabled fullscreen gestures but there's this persistent problem of space between the content and the bottom of the screen. The space is that of the traditional navigation buttons. When on Android 9, my fullscreen gestures would allow me to remove that space
I have tried turning the device on and off. I have disabled and re-enabled gestures. Even made use of the show button to hide keyboard
Do you have themes on your phone? Try removing them, that is what worked for me because I was running a Hexed theme on my note 10 and i reverted back to the default theme and now the phone runs in fullscreen mode
Hi,
You can try to disable gesture hint but then you won't be able to swipe between apps.
It's still possible to swipe between apps but it's more difficult because you don't have the line for orientation. You have to slide up very gently and then left or right.

Woo, thanks for the hint. ? Now I can finally get rid of the ugly white bar in some apps.
