Changing SM-N975J firmware to SM-N975U? - Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ Questions & Answers

Hello everyone, sorry for my lack of understanding. I have been trying to research this but there just isn't a lot of info on the version of phone I just purchased. The phone in question is the unlocked Japanese carrier AU version of the Note 10 plus, SM-N975J SVC-45. I am planning to use it on T-Mobile here in the US, and wanted to know how to flash the firmware to the tmobile version, if it is possible. My lack of knowledge prevents me from knowing if this is a simple task or impossible. I know the phone has a lot of Japanese bloatware and the AU carrier display when it comes on, its very annoying. Any advice, help, anything at all is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

It's not possible to change the firmware into international version as they have different model number, you can only change the rom into it's docomo counterpart, although they have different model number, it is possible but docomo's rom is kinda crappy with their emojis

[Q][HELP NEEDED] Nexus carrier unlocked/locked quesiton

Hi Guys,
First of all apologies if the title of this thread is somewhat vague. I don't really know what title I should use. I've been using a Nexus GSM unlocked version and my brother asked me to help him buy a Nexus as well. Here in our country, you can only buy a Nexus through our carrier providers and of course in a grey market. I was able to buy mine on the grey market and we also bought his there (different shop). However, the one we bought him was originally locked to a carrier. The shop just unlocked it (making it carrier independent). Moving on, here's my question: is it okay to flash a custom ROM to my brother's Nexus? Will his Nexus be locked again to that specific carrier if I installed a custom ROM? To be honest, I don't really know how they unlock a phone to be carrier independent. Here's hoping someone could help me out and very big thank you in advance. :good:
One more thing, i found this thread and I'm also wondering if the thread below also applies to Nexus.

[Q] SM-T705M

I'd love to get the Tab S 8.4 LTE (T705) but the LTE support in North America is severely lacking (only 2600MHz is supported by both my carrier and the device. I would also want 700 and 1700/2100).
I've seen mention of an "M" variant for South America (mostly Brazil) that also supports the NA frequencies but I'm coming up blank on a suitable source to purchase one. I've found a bunch of what look to be carrier websites but nothing in English and the prices, after exchange, seem to be significantly higher that what I can buy the non-"M" model for.
Does anyone know what the physical differences are between the "M" and the base version, if any?
Are they actually different or are they just using a custom radio firmware in the "M" to support the SA frequencies?
Would it be possible to flash an "M" radio firmware on the standard model to change the operating frequencies?
Thanks in advance.
Good questions, I have no answers, but the new AT&T model might be what you need. Carrier bloat beware.

Never mind carrier bloat, it's what they're taking away that concerns me.
It looks like, in typical fashion, they have disabled the phone features of the device. I don't see any mention of being able to use it as a phone on the pre-order page and the one picture of a home-screen does not have a dialer icon.
It's possible that's the SM-T707A, though. Time will tell; this is still a new device so we'll see what happens when it finally gets into peoples' hands.

The photos don't show an earset opening, so yes, no phone features in the ATT model. Well, I'm at the point of waiting for the Nexus 9 anyway before I make a decision on a new tab. I really like my Note 10, but would prefer it without touchwiz/magazine/etc.
Any luck on finding a place to buy it from yet? I can't find someone to ship to the us.
I just purchased mine a month ago. The only place I found it availible was on ebay. If you want the phone version of the Tab S make sure you purchase SM-T705. This is the phone I purchased. Tab S with phone capability, and factory unlocked.
I have the t705m bought in Brazil (unlocked) however I regret the day I purchased this tablet. I can't get along with Samsung useless apps I can't uninstall and couldn't find an alternative ROM for this device.

Using UK version in US?

Hi all,
I purchased the Honor 7x foreign version with 4gb of RAM. Unfortunately, it will not work with AT&T. It just says emergency calls only. Are there settings I can change to make it usable? Will rooting it fix things, or am I better off selling it?
Thanks in advance.
Unfortunately, it's a hardware issue--the radios. You will need the US version to get a phone with radio bands that will work with AT&T or T Mobile. Hopefully, you can return the phone and get the US version. Good luck
Thanks for the response! I guess I will work on returning it for the US version.

Root / Bootloader Unlock Possible on International Version?

Hey guys, I'm looking to buy a Pixel and I'm wondering if it's possible to unlock the bootloader and root an international model. I want to be able to do these things so just looking to verify that they're possible before I buy an international model. Anyone done it? Haven't had any luck when searching. Thanks for any help.

Google store is BL unlockable, Verizon is not since they're annoying like that
Thanks, I'm definitely staying away from the Verizon ones for that reason but what I'm asking about is the international model. It's a different model number and has different bands but I'm wondering if it's still BL unlockable like the Google Play version.
Yes, I'm running the international model unlocked and rooted.
Tbh I think the international and Google edition are the same. Been searching for a while, can't find anything to indicate they aren't.
It seems in the USA, to differentiate between carrier locked and unlocked phones sold directly by Google, as well as marketing and branding purposes, Google simply calls the unlocked edition in the USA Google edition instead. The international edition already ships unlocked.
They're the same otherwise for all intents and purposes.

Difference Between EU & CN Versions

Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone could clarify the differences between the CN version of the phone and the EU version. I'm thinking of purchasig a phone from Aliexpress and want to make sure of the diferences first!
I know that the CN version misses the LTE bands 25, 32 & 66 (which only appear to be important in NA) and will need the global rom flashed to it. Are there any other differences?
Thanks for any help!
Hello
Although I have no evidence about this, the phone may have been adapted a bit to match with the CN gov requirements. I guess this is related to real time check and the removal of some forbidden features. For exameple, on CN iPhones, iMessage cannot operate audio calls, so the user has to use Wechat call for this (which is totally under control by them).
Sorry for this unprecise answer but by instinct I'd avoid buying stuff from mainland China since the gov involves a bit much in everything there.
I bought a CN variant (HD1900) which came flashed with the Global ROM. I used Oxygen Updater to check for latest updates and all done. I think you have to be pragmatic about buying phones / other from China - if the Chinese government want to 'spy' on me, there are easier ways than monitoring which is encrypted and running a VPN all the time. If anyone had any evidence of mis-doing, it would be public knowledge - look how Huawei was affected without any evidence !

Those LTE bands and less warranty. That's all the differences.
