Hello guys, my zenfone 5z bricked and I tried EVERYTHING there was on forums and nothing worked so i stopped wasting time. It's been a couple months now and I want to try again and fix it. It actually happened while I was watching a youtube video and the screen turned black. Nothing ! It was bricked. Can't turn it on at all and can't charge it at all even with other cables or blocks or directly on pc...no red charging light. I don't know if you guys have any ideas what I should start with. Thanks
Sorry for my bad english.

Hello XDA community!
Here is a video tutorial for those who have problems like, powering on their device and it seems like a DEAD device!
I had the same problem, i bought the Asus Zenfone 2 and when i first tried to open it, it was like the device was dead(not working at all). So I'm here to share my experience with it and how I fixed it!
Done panic, try some of these steps and hopefully you will have your device working like a charm!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRYlhS9i56o
Actually many people say that these steps worked for them so, why not to give it a try before you send your device back to ASUS :good:
I hope I helped some of you out there guys!
:good: CHEERS
lol i have this problem yesterday , i though the problem was on charger port then i take it to service center and now its done :v
I had this problem with 2 brand-new zenfone 2.
My solution was to let them both charge for 8 to 12 hours!
There was no orange led, no battery symbol or vibration on plugging in the charger. But after long hours of letting them both connected to the charger, they both started working on reconnecting the charger!
So, give it a try. It's just a couple of hours of waiting [emoji12]
same problem here! also let him charge for 8hr's, after that working like a charm
Same problem today. Only 1 hour charging and all works good.
Same problem here, but not solved. Yesterday evening my ZE551ML started to overheat, and i shutted it down. Then I tried to power it on, without results. I left charging all night, and this morning it powered on for 30 seconds, but wifi wasn't working, neither physical buttons and vibration too.
Now I'm not able to power it on, but it is fully charged.
What can I do? Thanks!

I'm helping out a friend with an ASUS Zenfone 2. She was playing a GameBoy Advance Emulator (MyBoy) and was playing while charging the phone. The next day, the phone didn't turn on.
Basically here's what's happening (or not happening):
1.) No led indication of charging
2.) If left with a charger on for a few hours, battery gets hot
3.) Sometimes when I push the power button it vibrates once but that's it. Recently, no vibration at all.
Other than these, no other observations.
I've looked around the Zenfone 2 forums, especialy on the Troubleshooting thread, and there are vague & uncomplete solutions that never worked for me.
1.) Charged the phone using the ASUS adapter and USB cable overnight (tried with a Samsung one and a Sony one overnight - that's 3 nights total. Didn't work for me.
2.) I would like to try to open the phone myself but I'm not so sure and I don't know exactly how to remove the battery to reset the phone.
Has this been solved yet???
Yesterday I connected my phone to the charger before sleeping like usual but the other day when i tried to use it the screen would not wake up. The led was blinking red , i disconnected the charger and held the power button to see if anything would happen but the led just went off . My Note 2 is dead till then . Tried moving the battery , entering recovery or download modes but nothing happens, no led , no vibration and no sign of life. Has someone faced this issue, can someone help me? With some research i found out about the insane chip problem with some note devices, is my device dead because of that? Is there any fix?
Hello my freind same thing hapoened to my note 2 two years ago .my phone is dead too but its back to life with jtag ( boot) It was not me who repaired it.Do not worry Bring it to a repairman good luck
Hello guys, and sorry for my bad engish. I really need your help! Thanks in advance.
So recently i bought second hand Huawei watch w1 which didint work. The watch can't be turned on, it shows the baterry and lighting icon (no X) when being charged(also gets really hot) , but the second i unplug it dies. I occasionally can go in fastboot mode (when charged) (dont get hot), installed the adb drivers, but the watch cant be recognized by windows 7, or 10 or xp or mac, no matter what i do, i think the problem is that the watch came with Non oem charging dock, but im not sure.
My plan is to go into fastboot mode and run adb and from there to reflash the firmware. But when i plug it gives me usb error 43.
So my questions are: Is the baterry dead, because it dies when i unplug it or is it bricked and this is normal when its bricked. Or it is because of the charging dock?
I've tried numerous of ways to get this fixed but i've hitted in a wall.
Things i tried from theese threads didnt help me: https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-watch/general/tutorial-complete-guide-how-to-flash-t3307137

Definitely sounds like a hardware problem. Maybe the battery is dead, maybe the non-OEM charger isn't wired correctly and it fried the motherboard. It could be a lot of things, but I don't think reflashing the firmware will help you.
I had similar problems with a Moto 360 when I tried to plug it into a cable that I made myself. I had some wires crossed and the motherboard was fried. After that, no screen except when attached to the charger.

Thank you for your answer.
I opened the watch and it didnt smell like burnt or anything visible, but who knows.
I think there may be structural issue with the HW1 and charging anyway. The one contact point on the back of the watch is burned/melted and has a hole now. Just ordered replacement case+back to solve it.

hi everyone
my phone was dropped in water.
when i checked it was still working but the screen starts to have like horizontal lines coming from down to up
. so i turned it off, dried it with a towel…
i restarted it later it started well…then it restarted with green and red English words as it it was programming or android installing updates or firmware lines.. hope you understand me...
so i turned it off again to disassembly well and dry it better…
the problem is now when i plug it to charge it, i can feel it vibe in repeat mode when i connect it... as if it was vibering, then wait then vibering...in loop
i tried a recovery mode but still nothing on screen…
my pc don't see it when i connect it…
doesn't smell good at all :crying:
and another problem...when i disassemblied it i think i break a little part of the nap where i connect the screen nap on it...at the top right…
you can see it on the picture i added…
i'll try to disassembly again to see if i can do something
thanks in advance for your advices and help

Hello,
a few months ago I received Android 10 via OTA. As I usually do, I've first charged the battery and then I've installed it.
As soon as I restarted I got a blue screen, then it worked well. But when I finished at work I opened Spotify and got again that blue screen, but this time it was stuck on it. I restarted and tried again but still got the same problem a few minutes later, so I turn it off.
When I arrived home I tried to turn it on but it didn't work anymore, I charged the battery but still no sign..I could just access only once to fastboot and nothing else anymore. If I connect it to the charger the battery becomes warm, but if I connect it to my laptop it won't be detected.
Any idea on how to unbrick it?
On my old Zenfone 2 I once got the same problem (couldn't turn it on) so I opened it, disconnected and reconnected the battery cable and it solved it. But, before trying the same on this Zenfone 5Z, I wanna find other solutions coz it's still on warranty until November
I believe it is not a software problem but a hardware one, possibly broken BGA solder joints. Claim warranty and get the motherboard replaced.
