is the g3 being supported by the cyanogenmod 12 official release on the first of december?
Its looking more YES - than NO.
Its on the list to be supported, but with whats happened in the DEV community the last few days i dont know anymore, i hope it still does.

I hope offical is ASAP!
nightly update,more stable, less bug
The Rom we have is already pretty awesome, but there are some bugs left.. The major killer for me is the camera.. I need a reliable good working camera.. And right now there is no solution on the horizon.

For starters an official rom would actually contain cm features...., also i could watch videos iv recorded, mayne also take videos if thats not too much to ask, i legit dont understand how so many of you people complain about phones like ' the signals terrible, the phone lags,' tgen buy a phone yhats decent and all you guys do is put on a rom which wont even let you take a video!?!?!? Am i missing something, the cm12 build we have now is okay but is no where near a daily driver and doesnt contaim any cm features or stability
Well if you want everything build it yourself and see how much work goes into making everything work. Only thing official will get are NIGHTLIES which will likely contain as many bugs as what their is currently. Fresh builds never have all the features as the previous ones. Every forum I've seen on here for the g3 that has cm11 or 12 are all pretty much stable enough to be daily.
Also I must as well ask why does everybody care about OFFICIAL?
legitness
Offical is less likely to have bugs and will have cm new festures
Officials can be used as "base" for people who want to cook their own AOSP based stuff.
You can use unofficial for a base unofficial will still have cm features its just not official cm12 has just started. I suggest waiting
Official or not, it is still CM...
I personally prefer CM based rom with some cherry picks from independent devs...
They are way better....
Like others say, what we get in official cm are just nightlies...
at+t
Even atandt varient has it, no one uses atandt , is it possible to port it??!?!?!
If you look at the CM website you will see that the D850 is now in the device list

In comparison to Xiaomi's MIUI how is the Oxygen Os?
Does it have...
Call recording option in dialler without any third party software.
Something like a security app to clean cache, scan for virus's and grant permission for apps.
Inbuilt backup and restore option which backup all user data plus apps user made data to cloud.
Power options to change power saving profile according to time and restart the sevice automatically at given time like 6am.
And if you have used both MIUI and OOS... who do you think is better?

Get a Mi phone for all those features plus a mi phone will have better support for miui roms. Oxygen os is close to stock with some little functional tweaks. it doesn't have anything fancy like miui. But if you would ask me which rom is better i would say oos. it's simple clean less gimmicky. Hope this helps you.
Hi,
If you want to try MIUI, I suggests, buy Mi5... A MIUI port won't stable than an original one.
From my perspective: MIUI is really beautiful... If you see the screenshots.... You should try it. I think, everyone tried at least once... But for daily driver? No way. If you ever used AOSP based roms (oos, cm, etc), you won't use MIUI. I'm 80% sure, that you'll replace the original launcher. Than you'll sick some annoying incompatibles... Just look at MIUI forums. Problems with pop-up windows (for example Facebook messanger), problems with Android Pay, etc, etc.
I was ordered Mi5 (4/128G), but it went to out of stock, so I got refund... That was my luck. Now, I'm a happy OP3 user, and I don't need MIUI... That's my opinion.
As someone who previously always used stock or near stock ROMS, I currently own a Xiaomi Mi5. I ran with Miui for about a few weeks, but it really frustrated the hell out of me. Yes it looks nice, but I was always finding background apps just randomly stopped working or you had to allow extra security settings. I tried Google Now Loader on it, but that randonmly stopped working. In the end, I've flashed CM on it. So much better.
Going from a stock or near stock rom to MIUI is like going from Android to Apple. I will be returning my Mi5 to stock and selling on, as I now have a OP3 on the way.
Another reason - community support for OP3 is already strong. The Mi5 support thread is a joke.

why dont you try the hos
for me OOS is better than miui. as i prefer stock android ui than heavily skinned miui.
MIUI 8 is cool- looking, feature-rich, but i just dont like the ios lookalike UX.
I have bad experiences with Oxygen in OP1 and 2, always uses CM or H20 ,
but if you are wondering about phones which running those 2 OS - Xiaomi mi5 and OP3, i think i should go for OP3, MI5 looks cheap with white color, and huge bezels
All the features you mentioned are available in the Chinese rom for OnePlus phones. Call recording is there, extra app permissions lockdown, etc. You'll have to install GApps manually if you need it.
The OP3 isn't on that page yet but should be soon.
Hope to See a miui rom for the op3 soon. Now using the mi launcher on it.

I think both are not compareable. They try to reach different goals (MIUI feature rich and pretty colorful while OOS wants to add some features but stay close to stock). It depends mainly on the user.
I will be happy with tweaked OOS once my device will be delivered while you can count on custom ported MIUI roms. There's not that better one imho

It mean "call recording" is not available in Oxygen?
I expect your answer to flash Oxygen. My OP3 is running H20 and if it isn't "call recording", i will not flash.
all oxygen is is stock android with a few apps from oneplus. plus it supports layers themeing. so yes IMO its almost as good as getting a nexus and much better than miui.
OOS on a Mi5?
I'm not sold on the aesthetic and a couple aspects of the OP3, I quite prefer the Mi5. I'm strongly considering attempting to load OxygenOS onto the 4/128gb Mi5 as my next phone and it sounds like people in this thread might have direct experience with this setup.
Any thoughts/tips? I unfortunately can't wait for the new Nexus phone(s) but I'm also considering a couple phones from ZTE & Huawei...
Thanks
Porting OxygenOS would be hard and pointless at this point, because Mi5 doesn't even have kernel sources and a working AOSP ROM. If you really want iOS lookalikes, I would recommend OPPO phones. They didn't release flagship for a couple years, but at least they know how to develop software well. R7 Plus has even Cyanogenmod 13, I believe.

Thanks but I specifically don't like iOS and wanting a phone that doesn't look like an iPhone is part of the draw towards the Mi5. That R7 Plus is an interesting phone, but for me the screen is too big and the CPU & GPU are quite subpar.
No one who makes a smartphone for the US has made one with the specs I'm looking for. OP3 falls short, the Nexus 6P is too far behind now, I find the Galaxy S7 to be hideous, the G5 was a disappointment. The HTC 10 is the closest bet but it's battery life sucks probably due to its pointlessly 4K screen.
The Huawei P9, Honor V8, ZTE Nubia Z11, and the Mi5 Pro are my top contenders at the moment, but there's no way I'm using their own OSs.
IMO Samsung is a big disappointment, because of their weird things like Knox.
boy i hate miui.. its known to bring gingerbread memory leak issues to marshmellow ! hahaha on the mi5 it restarts apps unnecessarily lol
Gingerbread didn't have memory leaks... or I've not experienced them while I was using it. In comparison, lollipop and above always had them on my Z2. That's why I started porting SailfishOS

I'm using the Mi launcher too. The look and feel of Miui and the best of OOS or Exodus Rom
OOS is great out of the box - stock Android with goodies (and useful goodies at that). Really stable and fast.
And since it's very near to stock Android, many Xposed modules work, so you can customize it much very easily.
It is beyond me why someone could prefer MIUI over that.
hi all,
can you pls suggest some roms on android 7.1 ?
i am loking for roms that have good battery life, easy updateable and have some good features
waiting for your answers, peace...
AICP has OTA updates, doesn't get much easier than that. Resurrection Remix has a LOT of features but no OTA, and video recording doesn't work. Both are 7.1 I believe. I'm sure there are others, but these were the first ones that came to mind.

crDroid is good but after awhile I started getting some random behavior, random reboots when about to answer a call, physical buttons not responding and double clicking. Maybe it was just my phone but I would tell you stick to MM. N is good if you want to flaunt the latest and greatest for a week or two then come back to stable.
Yeah, I had problems with random reboots and even turnoffs with crDroid. I thought I could live with it until there was a fix but ended up changing ROMs because of it. I need to be able to depend on at least being stable enough to be turned on and receive a call if I happen to get one (I was traveling over the holiday and didn't want to miss a ride from the airport because my phone didn't ring due to a random reboot).
I was on Resurrection Remix last week and have been happy with it so far. Normally no video recording wouldn't be a deal breaker, but this weekend is my daughter's 3rd birthday so I had to switch ROMs to get that back :/

Is wifi rock stable on any of them? Or are there still wifi bugs?
has any of you checked video recording with footej/open/snap camera? or Google Camera version 4.2 or earlier?
I had no problem with WiFi on either rom. I tried the current version of Google camera on Resurrection Remix but video recording still didn't work. I believe it already came with snap, which didn't work. Video recording worked fine on AICP.

You aren't on a D855 though are you? Would you say AICP was the most stable?
No I'm on vs985. I wasn't on AICP for very long because Resurrection Remix became available shortly after I first flashed AICP, but while I was on it I didn't have any issues. Since AICP has nightly builds, I would think it might be more prone to having some issues, but then again it would also be more likely that issues would get fixed quicker (compared to a rom with weekly+ builds).

i have just tried AICP-Beanstalk-CrDroid-Mokee-ResurrectionRemix-XenonHD
experienced at least 10 mins on every roms
According to my short impressions, i would say ResurrectionRemix is better than others, it has more features and settings. others are just pure Android 7 no changes or similar
My order is:
Winner = ResurrectionRemix
Second = CrDroid
Third = AICP

That's not entirely true, maybe you didn't have enough time to find all the AICP settings. Never seen some of those tweaks on any rom before. What is your model number? CrDroid is probably the least stable of those 3.

I may be asking in the wrong place...but is there any non-root roms on 7.0 or 7.1 for the d855?
I really want to play pokemon again lol

i believe none yet, because all 7.0/7.1 roms based on Cynagenmod and Cynagenmod provides root so no non-root roms availible yet
maybe you now that but there is fulmics 6.7 and it give us 2 options when we attemp to flast the rom . systemless-root and normal root that we know
if you want to play po-go use systemless-root but it is based android 6 not 7
and last advice there is some ways to hide root from apps on rooted devices, make some searches
Cm14.1
I like it
Hi,
There's a multitude of roms available for the tab pro8.4.
As someone who's not particularly tech minded which would be the best to go for to give my tablet a new lease of life with the minimum of bugs ?
Cheers
I would suggest CM 12.1. It was Lollipop, but still batter than stock (Kit-kat). It has stable releases (CM is down, but you should still be able to find a download somewhere on the Internet). There are newer LOS builds, but that's only nightly builds, and the ones I tried are not very stable.
I've tried 2 roms,vu-vu-2.0 and slim6 and both have failed to install because of signature verification failure.
What am I doing wrong ?
I am using the Resurrection remix, by rnwalker. Version Nougat 7.1.2_r2 - N2G47E, from 24th April. It is running smooth without crashes or bugs, but I don't have Gapps installed.

I'm assuming the camera doesn't work as per all Nougat roms ?
I managed to instal Slim6 in the end,it's pretty good and very stable, better than stock battery life
I've been enjoying Slim6. Great battery life, and has been pretty stable for me:
https://slimroms.org/#/device/mondrianwifi
i am also running slim 6 . pretty stable and bugless
I'm have the odd issue with charging. I'm using a fast charger that came with my phone,2 amp I think.
Obviously it only works as a standard slow charger with the tab pro but it never reaches 100% unless I switch it off briefly
Yesterday I installed AICP 6.0.1 unofficial from August last year (after cfautoroot & latest twrp 3.1.1 for the 8.4). Was going back and forth between latest nougat cm and this one, really like some of aicp features and have different levels of it running on other devices.
Seems to run fine except for 3d rendering in a game I play, Star Trek Timelines. That game ran fine on the old original kitkat but is very choppy on this rom. Turning on forced 4x msaa in opengl es 2.0 apps dev option seemed to help a little. Anything else I should try?
Thanks!
Switched to latest Nougat Resurrection Remix (5.8.3) for the Tab Pro 8.4, running great! All options that AICP has, and then some. Enjoying some extended life for the Tab Pro.
Still having 3D stutters in ST Timelines, though.
I went with Slim6 and have been using it for a few months.I found it quite laggy so have just switched to the latest Lineage nightly and it's like chalk and cheese.
Can't comment on it's stability but it's so much more responsive,it's given my tab a new leese of life, thanks
I've switched from Slim 6 to Lineage 13 and what a difference.
Slim used to lag and stutter but Lineage is in a different league. The camera is rubbish mind so I've installed Open camera.......focussing appears to be an issue but as I rarely use the camera I'm not bothered.
Good work on the O/S though
Hi All,
I've been away for a while but have just resurrected an old 2nd Gen Fire HD 8.9" and with help from here have it running:
CM13 Unofficial ver. V10.9 ROM (Temasek) on Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 MOB30Z Release 6.1 and the latest GApps
I researched a lot of the posts on here before settling on this setup. I was just wondering is there a more recent ROM that I may have missed, that works satisfactorily on this older hardware.
Thanks in anticipation, Phil
I've tried a few and temaseks I'd the best. It also all works right once you learn the tricks and settings. Live display should be set to night. The tablet doesn't support ambient display. So if you have live display set to anything else, the screen will eventually start to scramble. I couldn't get the lineage build to work or crdroid. Found a work around that didn't make anything better. I'll try again sometime. Maybe it was something I did.
I ran the CM13 build for a week and it worked fine. I then tried out the crDroid build, since it was on a newer Android version. crDroid is working great for me. It seems to be more compatible with the latest app versions. Standby battery life is way better than stock. I don’t know if that is a crDroid thing or if it is the same as CM13. It seems better to me on crDroid.
