Thanks!

[Q] Warranty, CID and IMEI

Hi, i've just purchased an used One X, which is supposed to have an European Warranty (the seller says so), i noticed today that i have an African CID (HTC__016). Now, i'm not good in geography, but Africa is not Europe..
Is the CID related to the warranty or is it only an HTC thing? I'm sure it's no brand because of the HTC string before the number, but i'd like to know if i can rely on my warranty in case of need or not
Thanks!
Is there a web site to check that, maybe with my IMEI number?
P.s: i live in Italy
You can ask the online retailer where to go for warranty repairs.
As far as I know, HTC's warranty used to be region specific. It was also mentionee in their warranty booklet. But with the One X, the warranty booklet just mentions that warranty is applicable in countries where the device is sold. So, in theory, ifu have a HTC repair center in your country, and the One X is officialy being sold in your country, then warranty is applicable.

Get phone repaired in foreign country

Hey folks,
I bought my m9 a couple of months ago from a telstra store in Darwin, Australia but since I'm German I went back to Germany permanently. Now that I'm having trouble with my phone - the vibrator isn't working anymore, seems to be a common issue - I'd like to gather information on how to make use of my warranty here in Germany. Before I left Australia I went to a phone store again asking them about warranty and I was assured that HTC gives one year of global warranty which is independent of the current country.
Is there anyone here who had to deal with a similar situation? I know I could just contact HTC Germany but I'd like to some knowledge before Already.
Cheers Max

LG G4 H815 has issues. Send it to LG Taiwan for repairs?

I have an "international" H815 that seems to reboot at random times. A few times simply answering a phone call it caused a reboot. The IMEI says its from Taiwan. It is less that a year old. I am in the US. Do I send it to LG Taiwan for warranty repairs? If yes, has anyone done it? Their web site is in Chinese which I do not speak.
Thanks

Sorting this out but from Canada. I tried customer care, was met with "Phone was not sold here so there is no warranty." Attempting to use social media to get something else done.
I'll update if they reply.
Hey Guys, I have been facing this boot loop since 3rd Jan. I inquired with the service station and they will either change the chipset board of your Phone or give you a new one. My advise is to go for a new one with S/N starting with 510 or above as this problem is with all the LG G4 with S/N starting with 505-509. Am in Oman now and gonna claim my warranty in Dubai.
Where did you buy the phone? What store? In Germany, I can ask the retailer to send the phone in for repairs. The retailer then sends it to the manufacturer/licensed repair workshop. That's because of German warranty law, to which a seller is bound. You might wanna check US law regarding warranty.
Quick update:
I got a response from LG Taiwan

I called the company listed, luckily they had someone who spoke English. Bad news is they said the cost to send the phone in, replace the motherboard and send it back to Canada would be more than the cost to replace the phone. I asked about it being covered under factory warranty and mentioned the e-mail above.. the tech asked me to speak to LG.
Send LG another e-mail with the details of the conversation with the repair center, waiting to hear back from that. Given this experience I think I'm going to give LG Canada another go. In the meantime this G4 is sitting dead on my desk.
This is insane.
Did you have any luck in getting it repaired?
Short answer is no. LG asked me to send the phone to a friend in Taiwan so the friend can assist in the repair.. I can't say I have any friends in Taiwan so I let it go. Bought a Samsung S6 that gave me issues as well then got a handed down iPhone.

International variants and warranty in the US?

Hi Guys,
As I understand it, if we buy the International, unlocked model, we can't get the Samsung warranty honored in the US. Is this correct? Has anyone successfully gotten lucky with Samsung honoring it?
And most importantly, have you guys tried and have had success with third party warranties like Square Trade and etc? ?
Thanks for your sharing your experiences!

3rd party should work. Samsung officially says they dont honor it but I've heard cases of good will happening where they do fix it. If you are that worried about warranty I would buy the locked US version. I'm buying the Dual Sim version and taking my chances. If its DOA then you can always return it to the original seller they normally accept 30 days issues.
I've owned Samsung international devices since the Galaxy S II. Not only do they not warranty devices sold outside their selling region they also don't service them at your expense. You can't even add an international device to your U.S. Samsung account. You're literally on your own with a Samsung international device in the U.S.

The warranty is only valid if you bought it from their official site, it is one year. And you have to send the device to their address and they will send you back after repair,
The information I believe is available in the global page somewhere st the bottom of the page.
