Dark theme does nothing - Moto Z2 Play Questions & Answers

Hello all,
I have installed OTA pie 9 on my Z2 Play. The dark theme appears in the display options, but all 3 choices have no effect at all in the theme. It appears always clear-white (play store, chrome, etc backgrounds). Some apps allow dark theme, but this is not a global setting.
Do you guys have the same problem and is there any workaround this?
Tks

i think it only affects the quick access buttons

You need turn on in developer settings "dark mode always" and enabled "dark mode" in display settings. After reboot phone dark mode apply for all apps

Thanks pal, it apparently worked for some apps, but some still required individual setting in config (play store, calendar)

In developer settings (Android 9 pie) have a "dark mode" or "night mode". Need turn on "always on" or "always enable"

How can I remove this?
(can't get a screenshot, since this flicker goes to fast)
I'm pretty sure this is a Development option
Settings > Developer Options > untick 'Strict Mode Enabled'

It happens with my One X too. 'Strict Mode enabled' is untick only. Still I can see red borders. What to do?

Easy way to toggle a developer option?

Is there an app that allows direct access to one of the developer options so I can easily toggle it? I'm running stock, unrooted.
Here's the issue: Just upgraded to 4.3, and there's a bug that resets the Transition Animation Scale back to 1x whenever you run the Camera app. Right now I have to do Settings > More > Developer Options > scroll down to Transition Animation Scale > set to None > exit. PIA every time I use the Camera.
What I'd like is to have a script that runs the Camera app and then on exit automatically resets the animation option. Short of that I'd settle for a direct link to the option setting.
Any help appreciated.

Good thought. I am actually using Nova. Just looked through all the available Activity links but don't see direct access to the specific option I need to toggle.
I've also installed the Developer Options app, which does allow one click access to the Dev Options, so that's better than drilling down through Settings, etc.

Afterwards, at the top of the Developer Options panel, toggle off the Developer Options so that you can't accidentally turn this on again.
If you ever need to get to the Developer Options: Settings > About device, then tap on the 'Build number' setting until a toast tells you Developer Options has been enabled.

How To Guide How to turn off force dark mode in third party app

Hi!
I'm coming to you to explain how to disable the "force dark mode" in third party applications.
First of all, download "SetEdit" on the playstore, once done launch and look for the line "Darken_wallpaper_under_dark_mode", and replace the value "1" by "0".
Now enjoy the dark mode without its disadvantages.
(no need to change the value after each reboot of the device, it stays in place)
you can click setting>display>more dark mode option
and disable 3rd party app u dont want to use dark mode
Yeah, u can just go to phone settings and disable it to a specific app..

this is the fix because i tried the Fullscreen settings but nothing happened but figured a way to make them full screen follow my steps :
1)- go to settings
2)- search for "notch in individual apps"
3)- change the setting of your game from "Auto" to "Always show notch"
4)- enjoy bro the full screen
