AT&T 3.38.502.41 to 4.27.502.7 OTA File - One (M9) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all,
I've looked everywhere on the internet attempting to find an OTA file to flash to get me to this version without S-OFF and changing to Developer Version. Does anyone have the file for this OTA? I do not have ATT service so i'm unable to do a software update.
Thank you.

I only need it cause AT&T killed 3G and now you need to use VoLTE and VoLTE registration doesn't work on LineageOS and many custom roms, so I need to go back to stock just to for a moment to get VoLTE to work and then I can go back to Android 11 on LineageOS.
Many Thanks.

yeah i am pissed with ATT they blacklisted my HTC U11 because of the VoLTE crap. yet they whitelisted the M9 and M8 phones. when the U11 has VoLTE. they just wouldn't add it to the whitelist of phones. now i am stuck on some garbage pixel 5a and buggy AOSP roms that never work right. the sad part is this pixel is slower than my U11.
no idea what version this is but it is for the att m9

this one i captured from the RUU_HIMA_UL_N70_SENSE80_ATT_MR_NA_Gen_Unlock_4.30.617.12. by opening up %temp% in file explorer. deleting everything that i could delete in there. running the ruu. waiting for it to get to the accept tos. then browsing the two folders it created until i found rom.zip then copying that file out to a different location and closing the program once the copy is completed. i think if i remember right you can flash it on the device by renaming it to 0PJAIMG.zip or twrp

I have two U11's and one works fine on AT&T with VoLTE and the other doesn't. I also have two M9's where one works fine with AT&T on VoLTE but the other doesn't . The phones that don't work LTE does work, and it says that VoLTE is provisioned the only issue is IMS registration isn't getting registered so VoLTE calls won't work and this is on AT&T side.
Now here's a funny bit, I also have a U11 Life and that phone works fine on AT&T and it's not even on the whitelist. So, it makes me wonder how they are determining which phones are "compatible" or not.
The U11 and M9 that do not work on VoLTE but LTE works fine and they show as provisioned are both quad band phones originally sold by CDMA carriers but there is no legit reason they cannot be used on GSM networks as they are multiband phones capable of using any service.
So, I was going to flash AT&T stuff to my Verizon M9 and see if it works like my AT&T M9 and AT&T allows IMS registration to occur. From what I understand the IMS registration happens between the Qualcom chip and the carrier, and your version of Android won't interfere with it afterwards, At&T seems to be pickey about the IMS implementation. Meaning once IMS is registered you can swap back to whatever flavor of Android you were using before like LineageOS or whatever.

i got my htc u11 direct from htc the unlocked version. i was at ATT back in august 2021 trying to get a new sim card for it and a new sim card for my pixel 5a because you need a 5g sim card to get 5g to work. i just had them activate the sim cards. when i got home to put them into the phones. the new U11 sim card was blacklisted so i couldn't get it to work at all and i had to go back to ATT to get the sim card unlocked . they told me that i could not i could not get a new sim or change sims for it, because the phone was set for termination in feb 2022.
that is odd your U11 does work. maybe i will try it again with the stock rom and see what happens at worse case i have to get the sim card unlocked again. i currently use the sim in a zbt wg1608 lte router. so when i travel i have unlimited LTE data for my laptop and i don't have to pay the hotels outrageous prices for 24hrs of internet.

Use Verizon note 4 on AT&T

I got Verizon Note 4.
Verified that it is unlocked. Not stolen. No contract binded from Verizon store and through phone (Clean phone)
Android Version : 5.0.1
Location: Las Vegas
Insert AT&T sim card. No signal.
Change APN setting following the information on AT&T website. Still not working. No signal.
At&t store rep. said I need to l unlock the phone ( I already check with Verizon via phone and store)
Verizon rep. on phone said: I should be able to use the phone with At&t sim card
Verizon Rep. in store said : Galaxy note 4 won't work on AT&T. It needs to be rooted by an expert. Only Galaxy S5 or later version will work.
I searched websites and many say that they are using Verizon Note 4 on AT&T network (At&t sim card)
I just need to use phone and text message. No data needed.
Anybody can help me?
I was able to use SIM from AT&T before yesterday, but after trying to update the firmware using Software Upgrade Assistant tool on Windows 10, it's now stuck at 'searching for service'.
Did you change the network settings from global to lte/GSM?
I am reading this. Maybe a solution.
Did you try to insert a different carrier sim card and entering the unlock code?
---------- Post added at 09:27 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:24 PM ----------
After reading post i see you have a att sim sim on verizon phone. This could be a problem as verizon and att dont play nice. Stupid question is did you actually pay for service?

Yeah. Me either.
Did you do a factory reset after software update. Usually helps. Also mess with APN settings. Reboot after changing APN.
Problem solved.
Changing APN settings and reboot did not work. I just inserted the Verizon SIM came with the phone and made a phone call. Of course it's not activated, so I hang up when it reached Verizon automated system. Guess what, now SIM from Lycomobile works. H2O Wireless SIM also works. It means that it now can work with AT&T and T-Mobile network.

I'm in a similar boat as you (4.4.4 on Cricket Wireless, wanting to upgrade to 5.1.1). I just want to make sure I understand what you did to restore service:
1. You had phone working on AT&T with an older Android version (KK?)
2. You upgraded to a newer version via the Verizon upgrade tool (I assume 5.0.1 since 5.1.1 is not yet available via the tool)
3. You lost AT&T service after upgrade
4. You were able to restore AT&T service by using an inactive Verizon SIM and making a phone call
Is this correct? TIA

Mostly, except that I tried to upgrade from 5.0.1 to 5.1.1, but found that 5.1.1 was not yet available via the tool, but the process of installing the software on windows 10 and maybe I also used the Verizon SIM during the process which might have messed something up. I updated the firmware to 5.1.1 by downloading the zip file in a thread here and flashed it through recovery. The network connection problem was then solved by making a phone call with the SIM came with the phone.

I just updated via the Verizon tool (BPA1 finally showed up) and it was, surprisingly, perfectly fine. I first backed up as much as I can (via Smart Switch and Helium app), then pulled my mSD card, left my SIM card in the phone, and proceeded to update. After the first boot stuff (app optimization, etc.) I soon saw the AT&T sign in the notification bar, and I was able to make a phone call without doing anything else. With all the reports of SIM card locking after updating I was worried that I might run into the same issue, but was pleasantly surprised that I didn't. I had to re-enter the APN setting as the upgrade seemed to have removed it, but after re-adding Cricket's APN I was able to get cellular data as well.
Thanks again for your help
You need to access the hidden menu and change your radio and modem protocols. There's a forum on XDA called domestic and internation sim or network unlock for spring but should work the same on verizon
fyi, i got my note 4 working on gsm using 2 different freedompop sims-the at&t lte sim gets lte via band 4.
the global sim based on t-mobile did get hpsda+

HTC 10 Unlocked, Used Sunshine for Verizon, Changed CID/MID, Process back 2 Unlocked?

Hey all...
I used sunshine to unlock and s-off immediately after purchase of my Unlocked HTC 10 and changed the CID/MID to make it a Verizon phone and flash ViperRom.
Now that I'm traveling for work I need to change the phone back to Unlocked to use the LTE bands in another country (buying a SIM card in Japan), and also for it to to work back on VZN when I return.
I'd really appreciate it if someone can point me in the right direction of the steps I need to take to perform this? Hoping I only need to change/flash a couple things to pop in a new SIM in Japan and pop back in the VZN SIM when I'm back.
Thanks all! Hopefully this could be useful for someone else in my situation. I'd venture to guess it's somewhat common...

I've used my VZW 10 in Japan with a local data sim card without issues. Check the operator you're interested in over there and make sure your VZW 10 covers those bands. Else choose a different operator. Also your network settings need to be set to Global instead of CDMA, if I remember correctly.
With that said if you still want to convert back to Unlocked to be safe, just change your CID to Unlocked (or even superCID) and run an unlocked ruu from htc.com. This will wipe your phone so back everything up. Then once you're back home, do the reverse using one of the no-wipe ruus on xda. I would have thought you'd be comfortable with this already since you've done it once before. Am I misreading your question?
One piece of advice, if you chose a data-only simcard there from the provider Docomo (largest one in Japan I think) or one of their subtiers, you will likely have battery drain issues due to your phone constantly looking for a cell/voice call connection with the towers. There is a fix for it but only if you have Xposed installed.

Fantastic info, I appreciate it. I was looking at b-mobile (http://www.bmobile.ne.jp/english/index.html) because it would fit what I need (5GB/21 days/$30) but noticed the bands for them aren't supported by the VZW 10.

I bought it from some stand at Narita airport called Telecomsquare. I just shopped around the many stands until I found a package I liked and which worked. Oddly enough the shop specifically said they don't support HTC phones, because of bands I think, but I still went with it and it worked.
Yes if your device is originally U.S Unlocked then changing your cid and mid back to unlocked and flashing ruu will work. You may need to wipe your radios after flashing the ruu as well to get rid of any Verizon radio settings.
Mobile hotspot is probably the simplest option if you're willing to pay for it. No need to fiddle around activating a sim card in a foreign airport

Verizon Note 8...T-Mobile sim - help

Hello all, new here and I just purchased a Note 8 from Verizon. The device is paid off fully and i wish to use my T-Mobile simcard in it but it does not seem to be picking up a signal. I did update the verizon software to the latest version when i had my verizon sim card inserted. Verizon customer service told me i need to reset to factor setting then my t-mobile sim should work but this has not helped.
How can i get my t-mobile sim to work? Any help appreciated as i am new to android phones!
Thanks
Hi there, you must flash the new N950U1 2BQK1 or N950U 2BQK2 stock firmware to have full access of T-MOBILE Network. It's the only way it will work, I have AT&T NOTE 8 working on Verizon network with zero problem.
---------- Post added at 02:35 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:31 PM ----------
It's a very easy process to flash the 4 US Carriers firmware, I have done it more than 50 times and I'm not a developer.

I would like to know where to get the firmware and with what do you flash it with? Is there a instructions thread or link.
It's been over 5 years since I have tinkered with a Samsung device.
Hi there. You'll need to have your Note 8 Bootloader version on level 2, meaning 2BQK2, 2BQJA or anything with 2 before the last 4 digits.
1) tmobile SIM card in device
2) Odin v3.12.7 make sure extract
3) 2BQK2 firmware extract all files
4) put all 4 set of firmware files in the right manner, bl,ap,cp and csc. Don't used home-csc only CSC.
Odin and firmware https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=673791459329067572 2BQK2

First instructions is for if you want stock US CARRIER BLOATWARE FIRMWARE, second instructions is if you want SAMSUNG STOCK FIRMWARE. Follow steps and everything will be fine, happy flashing.
So wait, I have a Verizon Note 8 (currently using MetroPCS perfectly), but I wanted a stock Samsung ROM (without the Verizon crap on it), I can just flash the second set of files instead and done with it?
Yes
Can I use a gsm sim card and a verizon sim card at the same time on verizon branded phone? I see you have to flash the firmware above but am wondering if this would help me.
So much misinformation in this thread.
I don't even know where to start:
The OP was asking why his T-Monile SIM wouldn't work. It doesnt matter which firmware you're on, if the Note 8 is unlocked (the Verizon Note 8 IS unlocked), and it has a clean IMEI, and your SIM is already activated, then it will get 4G LTE. I know. I have a Verizon Note 8, and use it on Tmobile. I used it for over 24 hours with my T-Mo SIM but running thr Verizon firmware with no issues. Only reason I flashed T-Mobile firmware was to rid myself of Verizon bloat and to get wifi calling.
As far as bootloader, that has no effect on the SIM card working. The OP would need a v2 bootloader firmware if his current firmwarealso had the v2 bootload. It probably does, so thats a moot point, but the implication was the v2 bootloader was the only one that would make his SIM work.
I hope the OP got it all figured out.

plus the second SIM wouldn't have an IMEI assigned to it.
And I agree the OPs best bet is to flash thr T-Mobile firmware. But his issue was he wasnt getting a signal at all with his T-Mo SIM. Flashing firmware won't fix that. Source: I have a VZW Note 8 on T-Mo. Used it with the VZW firmware and a T-Mo SIM with no issues.

Another user had SIM issues and flashed back to factory (theirs was unlocked) then changed carriers and SIM worked again...sometimes a clean flash can work...
Hi all. For me I flash all firmware at clean wipe, never any issues. I have an unlock AT&T Note 8 unlock running the latest Verizon firmware with VZW SIM active. I also have a t-mobile S8+ unlock and running the latest U1 firmware and working with Verizon SIM active. I constantly switch my firmware between tmobile, verizon and at&t to see performance and what ever else feature added.

I also have a t-mobile S8+ unlock and running the latest U1 firmware and working with Verizon SIM active. I constantly switch my firmware between tmobile, verizon and at&t to see performance and what ever else feature added.

How did you get ATT N8 to work on VZW? I flashed my Tmo to VZW and i could never get speeds above 1mpbs. Even with unlocked firmware it did not get anywhere with VZW. I heard that its because the IMEI is not in VZWs database.
Hi there. My AT&T Note 8 works great on Verizon network, it's running the latest N950U1 Firmware 2BQL2, everything works great. It will work good on T-Mobile too, lately tmobile network giving trouble, sometimes less than 1 mbps on download. Since June 2017 I been having trouble with tmobile network in my area and around, so I switch to Verizon, couldn't bother the crappie service. My location I get 215 mbps on my note 8, IPhone 8 plus 147mbps download. I prefer Tmobile but it's not working good in area anymore.

I currently have a Verizon Note 8 with a TMO SIM and I'm getting 4GLTE but a few problems. Most of the incoming calls forward to voicemail and all outgoing calls the data has to drop completely before the call can connect. Will doing the carrier switching updates listed in the link above as well as flashing T-Mobile firmware assist with this problem? The phone is on 2BQK2 currently.

Nevermind, I fixed it. I had to perform the carrier switch and flash Tmo's firmware. Running perfectly!

Verizion note8 with tmobile sim card
This is what happened when I changed carriers from the original verizon note8, on verizon network, with verizon sim and the most recent verizon pie update, to a carriers sim, that is tmobile service. And what happens, I didn't even think was possible... I put the new carriers sim in, truconnect, booted and let the phone register the new sim and network. Checked for update.... the was one, let the phone download and update. And you know how Verizon's boot logo is... it wasn't anymore. Booted the tmobile boot logo and sounds, strange. I'm not super noob and the little bit of knowledge and experience that I do have with roms and updates across carriers usually require physically flashing the rom. Correct me if I'm mistaking. Continuing.... optimizing apps....., huh?! The update flashed the tmobile software, without effecting any personally installed apps. Though the update did remove all the verzion software/bloatware, without permissions, and installed tmobile apps. 2 that are meant for user usage. They are tmobiles device unlock and the tmobile app. Which I might add, do not function, I surmise, because in not on the actual main tmobile network, but a scabbed on. I have never seen or experienced anything of the short. Please tell me if this is normal.? I was a bit upset. I did not give any carrier the permission to delete or install any app on my phone. But maybe things have changed since I dabbled. And If they have, maybe this might help the people that have been using Odin to get tmobile version rom while originally being a verzion phone. I dont think it's normal. Please tell me if this has happened to you.

Flashing G930U to G930V

What are the steps to flash g930u on g930v?
I just purchased S7 from the ebay. Unfortunately it is a verizon version and I am not a fan to say at least. I am on ATT and also planning to travel, so I need many more LTE bands than G930V has. It is running G930VVZW4BRC3
- is it true that additional LTE bands can be enabled on any Qualcomm device? If not, at least I want to flash G930U onto G930V to get rid of crapware.
- I had downloaded the latest G930U firmware from the updato.com G930UUEU4BRD1. Is that the files to flash or are there various files around here on XDA, with fixes applied
- Do I just flash all the files from the zip via Odin?
is this guide still relevant? https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyS7/comments/5izd45/snapdragon_flash_unlocked_u_firmware_with_other/
If you flash a newer U variant than your V variant that should be all that's needed. I went directly from BRA1 Verizon to BRA1 U AT&T without issue
Edit: As for odin files, plenty of builds out there but make sure you go with one ~2gb in size. Otherwise itll just be a partial update (~200mb normally). U and V are identical hardware so you won't get software issues other than xyz carrier app not being there (or depending on provider of SIM, data might also be an issue).
Reddit link looks valid but it's basically "get odin and flash your build that would work given your current software and model" (I had to go to generic V variant firmware from U before returning to verizon V variant as Verizon's recovery didn't like the U model). If issues, try different builds or different Odins
Thanks!
What confused me the most is: https://www.phonemore.com/compare/p...m-g930v-vs-samsung-galaxy-s7-sm-g930a/3257631
Basically, it looks like g930v is missing some of the LTE bands.
I was able to install the latest G930U firmware, but now it is proving itself rather hard to verify what band my phone is using. It says LTE, but plenty of apps claim to display the LTE band, but none seem to do so.

I figured it out. There is a code *#2263# that displays the band information. However, if SIM is in, it complains that "RAT selection is locked,". By removing the SIM, and rebooting, the *#2263# works and you can enable/disable bands.

Did you set the APN information correctly?
Also are you using the N975U1 firmware or the standard AT&T firmware?
Are you using the BYOD sim card from straight talk?
What have you done over the phone with Straight Talk as far as troubleshooting? - this one can be important. If the phone isn't working with straight talk only it maybe a configuration (apn setting) or provisioning issue.
Are you sure the device is compatible with the area or region your in?
What provider/tower (Verizon, AT&T, etc.) does straight talk have you going through?
More information on what you have done to setup the phone for straight talk, troubleshooting steps you have taken, what information straight talk may have provided (etc. etc.) will help others be able to help you. Providing little or no details makes it rather hard to offer any help.
The apn won't let me put dun in the type I sim unlocked it with a puk code and got strighttalk byop I tried flashing the U1 firmware to it wouldn't take it so I did a Verizon firmware thinking that might help and same thing with the striaght talk it doesn't wanna work i put a Verizon sim in it and it works just like it did on ATT so I'm confused as to why the straight talk sim won't work they can't figure it out on their end either
I factory reset the phone reset network settings did just about everything I could with the phone besides it being funny about the apn cuz it says apn cannot be changed on this device if you put dun in the apn type i dunno the only thing I notice is when the Verizon sim card is in the phone the network mode is set to global whereas with the striaght talk its LTE/CDMA and it won't let you change it to global

Straight Talk uses different mobile providers to offer service different areas.. They utilize Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile (Sprint and T-Mobile have merged recently, but Sprint towers are still active).
I have seen posts across the internet that indicate you should be using the U1 firmware on the phone.. I would make sure your converting the phone to the U1 firmware properly.
If I recall correctly (this is how I did it previously) when flashing the U1 firmware make sure your doing it without the sim card installed and using the non home_csc file. Factory data reset the phone after you successfully flash the U1 firmware and then insert the sim card after setting the phone back up (so it can apply the new sim/network settings).
I would strongly suggest you do not restore a backup during initial setup when you do this. If you restore a backup it may restore previous network settings/configurations that were for what you had previously.
If flashing U1 firmware doesn't help (and since this this is a Straight Talk specific issue) then it's more then likely on the end of Straight Talk. I would call them and make sure that your sim card is the correct one for the cell towers they have you going through and the phone you have. Using an incompatible sim card (or one that is faulty) can cause issues like this. You can also have them send you another sim card to try.
Also contact them to make sure the service is properly provisioned and activated on your phone. Double check the APN with them, and see if they have an alternative one to try. It is also possible that a service outage maybe (or issue with Straight Talk internally) in your area, so I would call them to make sure that neither are not the case here.

The Global setting doesn't really matter in this case and your phone will be set to use the towers that Straight Talk has you going through.
The only thing that I can think of that would be a problem with network mode is if your sim card from straight talk is meant for a different provider then the towers they use in your area (i.e. sim card is for AT&T but the provider they have for the area is Sprint).
the straight Talk sim works in other phones no problem a s8 and a older note im thinking att has something in the software to block other apns i dunno i unlocked it with a PUK code and flashed verizon firmware on it thinking i could get passed it but the verizon sim works 100% and the att sim works 100% too but a straighttalk sim card (verizon) towers the phone tries it shows 4g and disappears and then it shows it has service but cant call it just says emergency calls only

I would not use older phones as a means to say the sim card is good. Besides that's irrelevant to what is going on with the Note 10+

Then this means one of two things... Either you didn't get the phone unlocked or else you did not convert to another carrier (or the U1 firmware XAA region) correctly.
If your using the unlocked firmware (U1 XAA region) then you should be able to edit the APN. If not then you should be able to create one.

That sounds like either the sim card isn't good, the phone was not activated/provisioned properly in there systems (call them and double check IMEI and model information), the phone is not compatible with the service they offer in your area (I suggest using the XAA region U1 firmware in this case) or else your phone is not fully unlocked.
I would also suggest google searching or else asking them for any updated or alternative APN's to try. It maybe very likely the one you have is not suitable for the phone/area... It wouldn't be the first time I have had an issue similar to this like this.
I am opt to believe the first 3 are the most likely scenarios since the phone works on Verzion with the sim card per your indication.
Yeah and the only reason I tried the older phone is to see if the sim card is activate with the number and the phone itself pulled the apn from network when I tried to flash to U1 the phone gave me a error but it took the Verizon firmware for the 975U but its still not working do you know of a good link for the firmware your talking about so I can try that

From personal experience I would advise in the future you don't do that. When you activate the phone you should activate the one you are using and definitely do not use an older phone to activate a newer phone. I have had many problems with this in the past as provisioning for an older phone didn't always work for my newer ones..

I waited for you to give more information on the issue, but you didn't. So I am sorry, but if you don't provide the details of what is going on it makes helping you very difficult. You didn't say what error you are getting, what the firmware version(s) are of what your trying to flash and what is currently on the phone.
Here's the last piece of help I can offer now.
I can tell you that the following can be found on the forum by searching:
Links and how to obtain the firmware - Multiple threads asking the same question exist here. Also Frija, SamFirm, SamMobile are just a few examples of what can be found referenced here.
Bootloader version(s) - what will happen when you try to downgrade and what will happen (along with a important thing) when you upgrade.
Websites to find firmware - SamMobile and some others have been mentioned.
Patched Odin - In case you need the latest version it has been mentioned here already.
I can also tell you that by using Google and searching for SM-975U1 XAA on Sammobile does in fact work.
Brother give me root file for note 10 plus SM-N975U android 10 version one Ul version 2.5 plz help me
