When I unlocked my device and installed TWRP the first rom I flashed was Miui.eu, everything started normally showing the options to add the google account and make the initial settings, however I had to install the global stockrom through Miflash and after installing TWRP and Miui.eu again when starting it was no longer shown the option to add the google account and not even restore my apps, just the Miui settings, does anyone have any idea what may have happened?

Hello everyone,
So I installed CM13 as an update from 12.1 but it was stuck on the boot logo, then it counts up the updates, then does the same thing again in an endless loop.
I decided to do a clean install, so I wiped cache, system and data and installed CM13, then I installed Gapps6 stock with the exclusion of some general apps I can get from Play store, since installing stock without excludes renders error 70
Anyway, everything went well, but on the wizard setup I was expecting to see Google ask me to import apps from specific devices that was used on specific dates. But all I got was the NFC restore method.
What did I miss here? and what can I do to get to restore all my setting from before I updated the phone?
I know that option existed in Lollipop, as I have used the option when I clean installed CM12.1 many times.
Thanks all
I have heard, but have not yet tested, that you need to delete the cmsetupidwizard (or whatever it's named) before the initial boot.
Hello, I have a problem with the contact sync on the phone.
I have added the MI and Gmail account. Additionally I have added the outlook app as the previous phone was a windows 10 mobile phone and an Windows PC is being used.
Now contacts are saved and new ones created under "save in outlook" in the original contacts app, but for some reason after a certain time maybe 10 minutes or longer they just disappear in the contacts list.
They are not setup on outlook either when I go via the outlook app.
Also numbers are changed within a contact and it is not updated to the web. In view settings i have selected "all" to view and yet it just shows contacts with a phone number even though there are hundred setup on the web end of outlook.
Is this a MIUI problem or Outlook? Would a proper customer rom help maybe Cyanogen?
Hi i did got the same problem. I was on the china rom version. Since i'm in the global rom, everything is fine. In which version or you ?
No Idea how you check this but I would say I am on the China rom. The one where UK was not available as language. Guess cyanogenmod will not release an update anytime soon so I better go onto that other rom.
could you link how to check that and how to upgrade it? much appreciated
Upgrade is really easy, but you will loose all installed data!
Go to: http://en.miui.com/download-315.html
Choose between one of the two files, I recommend stable image for daily usage.
Copy it to the phone, if you haven't already downloaded it on the phone.
Open the Updater app, select the three dots on the top right and select 'choose update package'. Select now your downloaded zip and it it will ask you if you really want to flash it. Because it's a different ("older") image, it will also inform you that it will wipe the device. Confirm it and it will reboot and start the installation, which takes around 15 minutes. Afterwards you're welcomed with a new fresh installation where you can select many languages.
Note, if it doesn't work (I'm not 100% sure if it's recovery or fastboot image anymore...), download the file from here: http://en.miui.com/a-234.html
Good thing though, you don't need to unlock the phone and don't need to connect it to the PC
so the global version is behind the original version from china? and will it auto update? is this some official source or some "community" rom
At least the developer edition is not behind
It will auto update and it is an official release which doesn't require an unlocked bootloader. Xiaomi.eu is inofficial and requires unlocked bootloader.
The developer build is typically updated weekly, although it can sometimes be "deferred" for some weeks if they test new drivers or similar (happening since around 3 weeks with the Mi 5s, last week was the first regular build again).
So I can update the rom without connecting to the PC from here to stable: http://en.miui.com/download-315.html and it auto updates, right
If you already have the global or chinese stable installed, yes you can. If you currently have a custom or store image installed, it might fail doing the update.
Once you have the Global stable installed, it will receive updates via OTA automatically, you just choose the time when to install.
I think there wasn't yet an update for the 5s Plus and the global stable image, at least the version number 8.0.1.0 suggests that.
I got a Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 with Chinese ROM already installed. I'm very happy with the phone itself but wanted to install the Global Developer ROM.
Downloaded the Flashboot ROM from miui and flashed according to the tutorial in the wiki and everything seems to be working fine.
Since I haven't installed much on the chinese ROM, I decided to also reset the phone so I can start fresh. The problem I have right now is that I cannot get past the Google login to access the phone.
After logging into the account it keeps saying 'Please sign in using one of the owner's accounts for this device' even though this is the account I used previously with this phone without any issues.

If you can, install twrp and use the inbuilt file manager to delete Google setup app from /system

Also I believe there's a module allowing you to skip the setup wizard. Just flash magisk 16 and that module zip shall do?
I am on MIUI 9.6.3 GLOBAL stable rom.
I have unlocked my bootloader and twrp is installed.
I took a full back up of my current miui rom (including data) from twrp.
I was using Pixel Experience rom.
Now i want to come back to miui, so i have restored from the backup that i took including data.
But the Google services have stopped working.
Even some third aaps are also not working properly.
I tried restoring from the backup without data but then the ph setup itself is getting stuck, as Google services are not working.
PLEASE HELP..!
Hi there. I'm new to Xiaomi/MIUI and would appreciate any help with the following issues.
Mi 10T – Global Stable 12.0.8 – stock launcher – MIUI optimization ON – de-bloated with ADB
I can't see how much storage space is being taken up by each installed app/package. They all show a "0" value.
I can't find Running Services under Developer Options.
I can't permanently disable usage access for System Launcher. It re-enables itself once I exit the settings menu.
App icons aren't updating. For example, Gmail, Maps, Photos and FB Messenger still display their old icons, despite me using the latest versions of those apps.
Google Play still displays the older menu style, despite me using the latest version of that app.
System Apps Updater doesn't detect OTA updates, despite several newer versions of MIUI 12 system apps existing on APK Mirror. This issue presented itself before I began de-bloating.
Updater doesn't detect OTA updates. I had to sideload 12.0.8 in order to update from the phone's original OS version (12.0.7). This issue presented itself before I began de-bloating.
Full disclosure: I'd rather not turn off MIUI optimization to see if that resolves any of these issues, as I'm not keen on resetting permissions (again).
Edit:
When I uninstall an app via the app drawer, a gap is left in its place. The icon of the uninstalled app is still there, it just turns invisible. I can uninstall it over and over, but it doesn't go away until I reboot the phone.
There doesn't appear to be a way to turn off the phone's equalizer. I can't use Blackplayer's equalizer until I do so. I don't know if the same applies to other music players.
Edit:
There doesn't appear to be a way to add emergency contacts or access them via the lockscreen emergency dialer. Emergency information (com.android.emergency) exists within the list of installed apps.
I'm on Global 12.0.7, unlocked, rooted and debloated. Stock recovery. What did you exactly do to update to 12.0.8? I do not want to wipe and I'm a little confused with the procedure...

I downloaded it from here, went to About Phone in Settings, clicked on the OS version number in the top left, clicked on the 3-dot menu in the top right and installed it via Mi File Manager.
AFAIK, you can only use Mi File Manager to install the update via this method. If you've disabled or uninstalled it, nothing will happen when you click that menu option – even if you've installed another file manager.

I just tried this. It reboots and starts updating... but goes from 0.X% to 100% in two seconds, then it boots and it's still 12.0.7

That sucks. It worked just fine for me. Don't know what else to suggest.

Finally I booted into TWRP and flashed 12.0.9 from there, no issues.
