Unable to find an apps folder to access files - Google Pixel 2 XL Questions & Answers

I am using a pixel 2 xl, and downloaded the app Enhance photo quality from the play store.
It is a photo enhancing application, and after i complete working on an image, i click on a save button. I see some message that is too fast for me to read .... i tried saving multiple times but couldnt really figure out what the message is saying ...
I have searched my phone in several places where i find images normally, but cannot even find a folder for this app, leave alone the pics. Because of this i have to take screenshots of my work every time....
I have emailed the developer asking for direction, but there is no reply till date ...
I have even looked under android\data and found a com.smartworld.enhancephotoquality folder, but there are none of my saved images in there ...
It would be very helpful if someone could guide me to the right place to look for it. Thanks a lot.

Will Donate For Answer!!!

Hey guys, I think I posted this in the wrong forum yesterday, so I figured it may help to be more specific to my device. Let me say, I will donate 50 dollars to the first person that can help me with this. And I have literally read every spec of information on the PPCgeeks Kitchen and each individual ROM, and not seen anyone else post this problem. So I'm pretty much begging for the answer now.
I have tried to use the vogue kitchen from ppcgeeks for a week now. I installed it, and ran the updater. Just to clear it up, I've re-installed it almost ten times now, and still get the same problem.
Anyway, after I bring up the program, it brings up the window to choose which ROM selection I want to use. I've tried three different ones , from three different people, with and without GPS, and no help. When I choose which one I want, It brings up the list to make my selections. I go thru and choose the boot screens, and then the apps I want (I've even tried almost every possible combination of apps to see if that would help), then I click the Icon in the toolbar that starts the ROM build.
After I start the build it brings up the window to make donations, then the window that shows the build progress. It goes through a bunch of stuff like scanning files, and creating things I know nothing about. Then it pops up an error message at the same spot every time. It says that it can't find a folder , and wont go any further. The folder it asks for is located in:::
"My Computer/ C drive/ Document & Settings/ "my user name"/Application Data/ hIq INC "
The folder it asks for ends in .layout or something very close to that.
Like I said though, I've tried every single thing I can do! Re-Installation, New downloads, everything possible. Guys, I've literally read everything on this program, and never found this before. So IM BEGGING FOR YOUR HELP. I will donate like I said, 50 dollars to the first person to help me fix this. If it's a file Im missing could you post it, or even if it's a step Im missing, I dont care! ILL DONATE THE SECOND I GET THE HELP!! So please guys, help me out!!!!
Reproduce the behavior, take a screenshot of the error message you are describing and attach the screenshot to a reply.
Also, with the screenshot of the error, indicate the operating system, version and the account on the computer security rights (i.e. Windows XP service pack 2 Administrator -or- Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 Power User).
There has got to be a reason behind the error.
remember that wqhen you are selecting the oem apps to have on the new rom build make sure you are paying attention to the colors if you select something and it is shaded yellow it means it needs something else selected first so that it can work and so forth

hmm thats sort of strange. are you sure that you have everything that you need all in the same folder on the same drive? ie if you have it in c:\program files\ppckitchen.org\buildos, then be sure to have your selections as well as your oems/kitchens/etc all in that same folder too. make sure you have only one buildos folder and that everything is located there and that you are running it from there only. i know that sounds dumb, but i had an issue with it and...thought i might as well throw it out there.
keep us posted/updated!
p.s. which drive do you have it on, and which os are you on/using?
TWEAKMAN
Hey fellas, thanks for the help, but I've give up. Ive tried everything. Tiermann, you all, ppcgeeks, everyone has helped, and nothing will work. It keeps asking for the same file with ANY COMBO of apps. 1 , 10, even when I try it with no apps selected. I've tried every rom selection I can find. I'm just going to try it on a different computer when I get a chance. But it doesn't make sense. I have a wicked pc. So im not sure. But thanks to everyone who has spent time helping out here. I will try again with a dif pc, but I'm going to keep messin with this till I find the cause. That way if it happens to someone else, then we can help them. But again, thanks guys.

New to Windows Phone

Hi all, as the title states, I'm new to the windows phone fam. I just found this place and it seems to be an awesome source for all kinds of things. I'm just a little overwhelmed with all the different things available. I want to do a few things with my phone (like different themes and apps) but have no idea how to even go about installing them on the phone. I tried to find somewhere that said how to add them but no luck. Is there a previous thread here that shows how to go about adding apps from this website onto the phone?
Also, I know that the tilt 2 comes with a built-in youtube viewer but I can't find it for the life of me. Does anyone know if ATT took it off the phone or am I just not looking in the right spots?
Thanks in advance, hope to learn a lot from everyone.
Welcome!
The best starting place is the 'read first' thread. It'll point you to the search feature (works very well) and the Wiki, where useful info a plenty can be found.
The link for youtube viewer is in the \Windows folder, just copy the link (it's a .lnk file) from there to somewhere in your \Windows\StartMenu\Programs folder.
Thanks for your help, got it to work just fine!

Another Discovery

So, you know how you can send an error report by turning on report logging and pressing the button combination (ALT + SHIFT + Y)? Well, I did that, sent it to myself, and opened the attachment that came with it. Here's what I found: a ton of clg files. the attachment is attached to this post. I'll work on opening these files and seeing if they're useful or not.
First: No offense but this is old news its been looked at and tried many times. Most recently by me. Your welcome to go over it yourself and if you find something we missed great.
Second: You have good ideas but look deeper into these things before you post them.
open them with notepad
Have you tried opening them with notepad? Try that and see what you get. It's pretty cool, but I didn't have enough space on this post to paste what I got.
Yeah, we've already looked at the log files in Notepad and other text editing programs. If you find something useful in them, feel free to tell us what you have found.
Here:
http-//technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc721962%28WS.10%29.aspx
...is an explination of what a .clg file is. Basically from my understanding it's a binary file that contains what state your phone's settings are in. So it's definitely a one way street but there is still a sliver of a chance of finding some interesting stuff in there.

Really clever and useful app.
I've only used it to hide apps on friends' Androids, once I've configured them.
They're new to Android and want the simplest experience they can get, with all the benefits.
It's a shame that you cant hide Minimalistic Text and Desktop Visualizer, and still have them run on the homescreen though. Hidden apps won't always run in the background (as warned in the app).
I hope it continues to develop - it's definitely worth al look for anyone who is not aware of it's potential.
I love the fact that it actually operates as an audio manager. Excellent disguise.
I'm using it since a few month. Save with tb. Restore after flashing a new rom. You just have to hide app again. Great app. Bugless.

hey buddy if you go on your phone and in the search you put Hide Pro that will be the first thing it will come up..download it and enjoy the app. but if you want the link just let me know and i give it to you
Been using it for ages now and its quite good, easy to use etc.
The only problem is it doesnt truly hide the pictures, files etc you want hidden. It simply moves them somewhere else with the old . trick before the folder name. Anyone who is familiar with android phones will know how to find them with root explorer.
Ive been searching but cant find an app that truly hides it. Back in the days when i was on Windows mobile 6.5, there was an app "Hide my stuff" and believe me, it did just that. Connect your phone to the PC, the folder exists but its blank in size, no files, cant unhide them etc. Only way to view them is via the app on the phone but i cant find anything on Android that hides things like that app did :-(

Dont think you follow me, dont get me wrong, ive used for 6 months easy and it is good for what it does.
What i mean is that it doesnt matter what ROM youre using, it doesnt truly hide the files you think are hidden. ie/ if i had your phone, i would be able to find the files easily so if the average person took your phone, whatever pictures you hide, arent seen in the gallery for example however its easy to find anything you have hidden if you get my drift. This is because the app moves the files somewhere else. Any file explorer can see them so its not really hidden. go to /mnt/sdcard/programdata/android/language/.fr/ and everything hidden is there so i wouldnt call that hidden lol
The other app i mentioned when i was using windows TRULY hid the file and there was no way you could ever find it unless you unhid it with the app, hope that makes sense.
I was just putting it out there if anyone knew of an app on Android that truly hides files, i havent found one yet.

Much appreciated. I hope you have better luck then me because ive been looking for ages and to date, this one is one of the better ones. The way it functions, ease of use, menu etc is great, i just wish it truly hid something.
Most on the market just put a . in front of the folder, with file explorer its easily viewed.
If you are ever bored, hide some pictures you dont want anyone to see, go to a photo shop where you can use the self service machines to print photos, put your phones SD/micro SD card in there and whatever you have hidden appears lol.
When i used this other app on windows it wouldnt appear

Il give you a buzz if something comes up..In the meantime im having a bloody rough time putting a link in my sig and its not bloody working and ihave tried everything i know
I'm using this app since the beginning. It's a great app. it had already saved my life lots of time !!!
It's really great for the money !
Hidden files are renamed in .bin, and then are moved to a "secret folder" in External_sd\ProgramData\Android\Language\.fr\ or something like that.
The add-on option is a way to lock an application. When you try to launch a protected app, you've got a force close message. in this message you choose report, then you have to input your secret code, and the app is launched...really clever solution.
Developer say that his next goal is to hide some secrets contacts from address book.
Yes man, believe me, it's a great app. hidden in a audio manager application.
PS 1: I have nothing to do with the developer. I've try lot of similar apps, but this one was the best one.
The other solution was giving by Tasker and some intelligent script to lock app and hide files. But it's more more complicated ;-)
PS 2: On the bad side, developer did not update his app for a while :-(

I know its a shame but still great apps like this i dont see no harm sharing them with people on here...nice glasses by the way
thanks for your comments
This one encrypts files
Try Private Gallery - Hide Pictures from market.
It encrypts files with option to hide app access via phone dialer.
Tested on Dell Streak 5.
I am using this app since 4 months.. it simply does what it says.. n it was one of the best
but the last update killed 'Lock App' feature which comes with an plugin... which is one of a kind..i love the disguised force close option.
Please tell me if this feature is still working for you'll???
Hi everyone,
I've managed to hide apps but I can't unhide them? It gives me an error when trying to do so and the app appears back in the hidden list.
Anyone else experienced this and managed to fix it?
Since the location of hiden files are stored in Phone memory (\ProgramData\Android\Language\.fr) can we move to External SD Card memory?
I often confuse with the terms "SDCARD" in file explorer, in my opinion "sdcard" is the external memory card which is purchase separately...
This app appeared on my phone without being installed. What caused this???
thanks for share:good:

keep looking and underwater

I down loaded pictures from Android central labeled keep looking and underwater. They down loaded and installed themselves and work fine but wanted to delete them and for the life of me I can't find them to delete them. I have a stock pixel XL no root nor an unlocked bootloader. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Pete
A link to the website.

I'm probably missing something simple and feel like an idiot. Thanks Pete
Would anyone know where these pics went?
Those are probably apps without any icon on app drawer, sooo you need to find them (app names) in settings>apps and notifications> installed apps which in this point you should see all installed apps. Find desired one and uninstall it.
Hmm... I just looked and I still can't find them but it says I have 51 apps but I only count 50. I think your right there is no icon but I still can't find them ?. Thank you for your response. Pete
Check the pics I attached, in the list of apps there should be the apps you are taking about(as you can see I have the pixel 2 wall papers). If you can not find it, I advise to check it again. Because if it is not an update to existing wallpaper app or system app it should be there. 3 dot menu, top right, had the option to show system, check them also as last resort.
