you can flash it via fastboot mode,
if your bootloader is locked then you have to enter edl mode manually by testpoint.
unlock first and fastboot it works
i have applied for unlock permission
i wish the fastboot to edl boot method worked on this device
i unlocked my bootloader and downgraded to 9.2.4.0
Hi All
I am trying to flash TWRP 3.2.1.2 on my Redmi Note 5 AI China version on MIUI 10.8.9.20 Beta
but I am getting an error (failed anti-roolback check). Anyone know of a work-around for this or is it no longer
possible to flash TWRP. My phone is already bootloader unlocked.
Hi there,
You should be able to see the guide on how to twrp on of the theads here.
After you get that error you must flash a dummy.img file into the recovery then last step is to flash the twrp file again.
It should be sucessful after doing so.
Let me know how you go

Faatboot flash again
Did you flash via custom recovery then found the stock recovery was back? You need to flash Lazy Flasher to make your custom recovery stick.
Please leave "Thanks" if this thread helped you.

Q&A
Does TWRP from that chinese forum presist after flashing ?
No. Phone will go back to original RECOVERY after 2nd restart.
Does that TWRP is functional with REDMI NOTE 8 PRO ?
Some functions may work, some not.
Installing root with this TWRP will cause bootloop.
When something go wrong....
If you end up with BOOTLOOP, for any reason ( Magisk etc. )
Just flash boot.img from FASTBOOT + RECOVERY+BOOT and bring your phone back to life.
This boot.img was extracted from firmware linked above.

Command : fastboot flash boot boot.img

So, I guess we have found a way to install twrp and it persists after flashing.
How about magisk? Does it still lead to bootloop efter following this process with twrp?
And how do we do a system update after at have twrp installed?

Ok, thanks for reporting. I guess that Magisk just does not support our phone yet.
I have also tested Magisk v20 and got bootloop.

Are you using the note 8 pro?
If yes, then it is fully supported by mi flash? I think it's the safest way to flash stock rom right now because you don't have to unlock the boot loader just to flash global or china rom.

I think that you have to unlock the BL first before you can access fastboot flashing, even with mi flash.l

I use MIUI 11 9.10.17 (MiuiPro edition) for Redmi Note 8 Pro. Magisk work without problem (19.3). Some screenshots for you (Greek Translation by Spiros Kaparos) in attachment.

The ROM is based on the Chinese beta version 9.10.17 Miui 11 and the Magisk is integrated into the ROM. Just flashed the archive with ROM from TWRP. I do not have a direct link to ROM - I downloaded it from the OTA server. You need to ask on the developers site.

Does the TWRP and Magisk required to flash the global rom? Or if i flash your files via Mi flash it will flash only Stock Global Rom?
Hello, a few days ago I was using a kernel and I'm doing great, but when making video calls on WhatsApp, the flash of the front camera turns on by itself and does not let me turn it off or, well, there is no option for that. I want to know how I can go back to the stock kernel of the Redmi note 5 Pro.
Are your bootloader unlocked? Used twrp to flash to stock kernel image which you can extracted from the flashboot rom file, and you can copied out the stock kenel image, I had done it many years ago. Search the forum there is a thread for it. Good luck.

The bootloader is unlocked and I now have Orangefox installed.
To restore stock kernel flash stock boot image (find it in the ROM zip file "boot.img")
