AICP​
AICP is known by everyone as Ice Cold Project that started on Desire HD and since then evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community you can find!!!
Until Lollipop, Rom has always been AOKP based. Unfortunately, since AOKP either stopped development or will make a comeback later this year, we changed our base to CM when it comes to hardware, drivers and some features.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them or CM team if it concerns their modifications. This rom isn't CM supported so no need to report errors or bugs to them!!

GAPPS 5.1
ROMS should contain everything you need to enjoy Lollipop. You are not required to install any Add Ons, simply download the latest ROM, gapps, flash it, and go!
You are STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup - these can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug. If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience strange behavior.
How to flash:
Don't do it if you don't know it
ROM has gapps persistance in between dirty flashes
KERNEL:
Kernel in this rom follows CM source with custom additions.
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA:
To be able to flash over OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
You can still use CWM and OTA app, but only to download zip file and flash it manually from within recovery. Zip gets saved under AICP_ota folder on your internal SDcard. OTA app will work after adding support so have patience !!!!

Its directly from AICP source ... No features added ... Only AICP extras

Why? Will it have any development in the future? I use AICP based on kitkat and unfortunately it has only one build without any fixes.

Porting requires to compile the app which u want to port from base ROM like if u want to port Lenovo vibe UI then u have to compile Lenovo apps with Asus Z00L framework.res and make it compatible and make it to run on ur phone.You have to make all Lenovo apps comprtable with framework.res to make it work on ur device...This is the way how to port...I mean it's basic just... There r lot of guides available fr porting on XDA...

MIUI ROM will be great to port !!!!

Great rom, but it lags and not smooth like beroid's crdroid or DU, even LineageOS smoother.

It is best that rom also the problem of contraction is overcome.

didnt faced this issue. at first boot it does lag, but after rebooting it fixed the lags.

I did what you said, yet the rom needs to be stabilized. Everyday use is not ideal as the rom is also hanging. There is no mistake in the rom, but more stabilization and acceleration are needed. Compared to other rom's, it's lagging behind, and also the first release of Lineage OS 14.1 is ticking.

On first launch, you’ll notice a clean setup with a beautiful wallpaper from Hampus Olsson, who teamed up with us again to create several beautiful pieces of artwork. Well, that was the situation in the past years. I remember PA on Galaxy S2, for example. But on Mi8, this ROM still hasn't any features compared to the others, and it isn't updated with the latest LOS commit.
The kernel is less smart than sphinX, too. ?

Now I'm on Xiaomi.eu (with Pie), any suggest for a good installation?

Get into TWRP, wipe /data, /system, /cache and flash last Xiaomi.eu as a base. So flash PA and go with OpenGapps (I suggest the micro one). Once you'll finish all this things, reboot. That's it!

ill be testing it as well, hope no stupid crash hinder me. but if i might want to a bit selfish, do the rom kernel include westwood tcp and better io like maple, or sioplus just like lineage? coz cubic and cfq/bfq are a bit slow for me. other than this small request, im very looking forward to it as well hoping if this rom supporting f2fs too.

If there is a way to port to Z00L I can test as well.
btw the src link is to your kernel for exynos chips. what kernel do you use for this rom ?

I don't know much about kernel building , but these are for different chipsets one is qualcomm ,other one is exynos. too many configs to change .contact the original kernel/rom developer. I don't think it is possible

Why don't you try to boot it with another roms kernel? instead of porting another kernel? it may work with minimal boot image editing of another current android pie rom for this device.
