Hi all, I have a little problem, I have installed TWRP and magisk all working well, but when I want to install YT vanced I have bootloop, I flash boot.img in fastboot, but now when I want to install magisk I have bootloop, to restart again the phone I need to flash twrp.zip by twrp loll
Someone can help me to have again root ?
I think if I flash in fastboot stock recovery I can install against correctly TWRP and magisk, but I don't find stock recovery.imp
I'm in the last update Android 10 (2004.60)
Does this version include the hide navigation bar for gesture navigation function to WW ROM officially?
First go into twrp and go to advanced, then click on the "fix recovery boot loop" now you are unrooted, and if your phone turns on download this "Magisk Manager for Recovery mm" , also download magisk 20.4 zip file to falsh it into twrp.
After that boot into twrp flash magisk v20.4.zip, now flash the other file which is *magisk manager for recovery* and after you flash it go to terminal and then type
mm
then select the modules that you want to remove ( I suggest to remove all of them, later you may be able to install them) after that when you have removed the module, reboot the phone into system and done.
I hope I was able to help you
After several tweaks, SOT is 17 hours on 120Hz. Battery life is very so slightly better than A9. And temperatures are much lower than A9. I removed brightness module and phone no longer ever heats up. While gaming temps are incredibly low. Much lower than A9.
Edit: That good battery existed only for a day or two, phone started heating up randomly again with random quick battery drains. I went back to A9.

Download from the link, it's the full zip required to go to latest stable (#3 - 2004.60), copy it to root direct off phone, restart and wait for system to detect and prompt you. Click update then restart. Are you rooted?

Provided your fingerprint matches your WW rom (you can check your fingerprint by using device info hw from playstore under system), you can go ahead and update to latest A10. See a couple of posts above this one for link

Hello,
I kind of messed this myself.
I have GN 4.1.1 takju - maguro JR003C - rooted, unlocked bootloader through GN ToolKit.
Now today got OTA notification of 4.1.2.
Installed OTA Rootkeeper, opted for "Reboot and Install" in OTA screen.
Phone booted into CWM Recovery and then update failed due to signature verification.
Now I am not getting the update notification back in System Update screen.
So the big question - how to get the OTA back and even bigger question - what do I need to do to have 4.1.2 in my phone?
I have the same problem and would like to know the answer.

i think you should manually download the rom from google when it will be available and use for easy of use gnexusToolKit to install it.
I did like this last time for the same problem and got the problem also now...

I can see for takju-maguro, there is an image for 4.1.2 at https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#takjujzo54k
But need some one to confirm if thats the one we need to manually install.
Also any help on my original questions will be helpful!

Done, so quick and easy. Google released a bat files inside the rom that will do it all (yeah it'll erase all your data but i like a full format sometimes so its ok for me).
So if you wanna to follow this procedure :
1 - Verify you have adb drivers installed and working
2 - power off mobile
3 - launch "flash_all.bat" files inside google rom
4 - power on the mobile in bootloader mode (menu down + menu up together and power)
This will start all the procedure.
Wait..
Done
You can open the flash-all.bat in Notepad++ and remove the -w switch and it won't wipe the data when flashed

Thanks but could you please help with a bit more detailed for noobs like me!
1. How will we come to step 3? is it through genx toolkit?
2. delete all user data - you mean everything under /sdcard/ ? Means will need a backup of "everything" of my nexus!
Thanks again!
It's in the factory image you download from Google

Hi i dont used GNexus toolkit.
The step i did are the following :
1 - Download the GNexus image (i downloaded the one without Google Wallet) from here https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#takjujzo54k and extract the content wherever you want on your pc.
2 - verify that your ADB drivers are installed and your mobile is recognized succesfully (you can do this by installing the gNexus toolkit and follow the inline instructions).
3 - Download if you dont have the fastboot (attacched) and for easy of use extract the content inside the folder of the downloaded ROM (would be better to install in a global folder and set it into windows global variables)
4 - Once extraced go into the folder where you have the extracted ROM and open the file "flash_all.bat" with a notepad
5 - update this line "fastboot -w update image-takju-jzo54k.zip" with this "fastboot update image-takju-jzo54k.zip" if you dont want to wipe your data and save the file.
6 - Inside this folder SHIFT + RIGHT MOUSE CLICK and select "Open Command Prompt from here"
7 - write flash_all.bat and it'll say it's waiting for device to be connected
8 - Power OFF your Mobile if you didnt do yet
9 - POwer ON your mobile in bootloader mode using the combination of VOLUME UP + VOLUME DOWN + POWER (all together at the same time)
The procedure will starts and your mobile will be updated in less than 2 minutes.
Hope this is clear.
It works perfectly!! Thank you.
It couldn't have been put more lucidly! Thanks.
But after installing 4.1.2, Titanium Pro stopped working! I uninstalled and then tried to reinstall but got "no space" error though 9GB is left free!
Any help!

Moderators, please mark this thread as SOLVED
First of all I am not a established developer still learning android system...... if anything creates problems after flashing this rom or after installing, dont blame me..
Proudly present the rom for Idol 3 6045I ported from it Chinese sibling TCL I806.
Fully working on my 6045I. Its stock 5.0.2 from TCL I806.
Many chinese apps have been removed but still few remains which can be removed by getting root.
Features:
1. Less Lags.
2. Fast.
3. Camera is working far better than the recent updates provided for 6045I.
How to install:
Caution : Before doing this, please make backup of your system & efs as mentioned by Famewolf in his thread of making backups.
1. Just download the zip from the link provided below and keep it in the root of sdcard.
2. Also download the gapps provided in the links. First link is which I installed on my device and second one is the latest. Keep it also in the root of the sdcard.
3. Now just boot into recovery mode i.e. TWRP , do not wipe anything, script will do it itself and just go to install and choose the stock chinese rom for 6045I.zip and flash.
4. Let the process to complete. It will ask to restart the system and just restart the system.
5. After first start choose language and other options, again boot into recovery mode and flash the gapps provided.
6. Here the stock chinese rom will run smoothly on your 6045I.
7. If TWRP gives error "error in executing binary" then you have to manually edit the updater-script but it depends on what your TWRP says about the error. So just ask me I will tell you what changes to make in updater-script.
After couple of manual restarts or with time rom will start to run smoothly.

Rom : removed due to some problems occurred after flashing.

I will try my best
Caution : Does not works on 6045Y & 6045K.
Backup efs also in case u loose ur IMEI or having error of unknown baseband/ no network

Sorry for all the trouble caused.

Quick question. Can this rom read/write ExFat? I'd rather have my sd card formatted to that so that i can store larger movie files.
Are there any real noticeable differences besides less lag and fast? Those two mean almost the same thing. Does this ROM offer anything major that the US stock ROM doesn't? Awesome work though making a new ROM for the community to try. We appreciate your work. :good:

One enhancement I read about was that it did have newer camera software. Many of the packages included are newer version levels than the ones included on our phones because the i806 came out after our models.

You should consider removing the system update checker from your custom rom. The icon appears in your screenshots so I'm assuming it's still included. Since the build.prop says it's a 6045i but it has the i806 codebase patches will never apply since the checksum's won't match.....so depending on what "version" it thinks it's on vs the update version the update checker will either never show an update or always show an update.
OK. I think I have this working. The ROM seems to be functional for me. Downloading all my apps now and getting it set up how I like. Will try to run it through the day tomorrow and see what I like and don't like... not expecting much difference over stock, but we'll see.
Anyone have a suggestion for a lollipop compatible "minimal gapps?" I'm really only interested in google play and gmail..no need for google+ etc.

I might still have a PA micro gapps file somewhere. Just need to see if it's 5.0 or 5.1.
Edit: Here you go. Just pick up the zero gapps. It works perfectly.

Another option is the Slimgapps official thread here. They do have a "zero gapps" package, and both 5.x I think.

Yupp bro.
Just edit build.prop with notepad++ and change it to 6045Y instead of 6045I and flash the rom.
Then check the log of TWRP specially before the error in executing updater binary.
It will say something about the check_cu.
If you will open updater script with notepad++ you will see first line of command saying "check_cu("6045I-2AALUS7");"
Just change this line ("6045I-2AALUS7") with the line shown in the TWRP similar to this ( something like 6045Y-XXXXXXX)
Then again flash the rom, gapps and hope it will work.
If it works, dont forget to hit thanks button
Ok... I'll see, my phone is less than one week old and I swore myself that this one would be kept untouched for a year. I wanted to keep it clean for warranty purpose but one week later... I'm already rooted.
I'm kind of flashaholic so won't resist very long... Don't worry.
What will it update exactly? Is there a risk it will mess up the European radio part? Just to make sure I'll still get a good signal or loose imei.
I do have my twrp backup for boot and system image, will that be enough to get back to a previous working state?
Thanks,

I rooted my phone the next day it came to me,
Eventually i am also not going to get warranty as I imported this device from US to India.
N I personally dont care about warranty as none of the android device gets bricked completely, there is always a way.
Like I got stucked in bootloops in try of porting cm12.1 from other device.Even my backups failed to boot. Then I followed the mobile updater app provided by Alcatel and it simply restored my device to factory rom which will get updates also.
N warranty will not work if the device got physically damaged.
Yes backup will work.
After flashing this rom I would suggest you to make TWRP backup of this rom also alongwith Stock one.
I am getting a lot of range in network selection as it contains all the radios available for this device.
Screenshots of network range:

It's much safer to mod now since with Version 4.9.2 of the Mobile Q software from alcatel (you have to tell it you have a "pixi" for that version to appear as it's so new) allows you to put the phone in "download mode" and fully restore the device to factory condition. (tested by multiple idol 3 users of both the 6039 and 6045) This goes a long way towards making the device unbrickable.

I agree with you bro......:good::good:
Thanks both for your answers. Yes the Alcatel restore software makes things way easier to fix. I already installed it yesterday to make sure my phone drivers are installed for any "phone state". I also have the android sdk installed.
By the way, I am thinking to bring my small contribution to this forum by creating an " ultimate list of mods/softwares/issues" for this phone.
There have been so many news and achivements in the past few weeks, it's a bit difficult to read everything in the correct order.
So last question, how about the radio, imei, etc... Any risk on this?
And then, I think I'll give it a try.

I'm attaching a platform.xml file already modded to allow full read/write access to the external sd (just drop the .zip off the filename as that was just to get xda to allow me to upload it...it's a text file)....you might find it useful to replace this in yours.(/etc/permissions)..other options include pre-rooting...adding in init.d support....etc.
Ran this ROM overnight and through most of my day so far (about 3 hours off the charger). First impression is that it's about the same as stock, not that I was expecting any different. You get the TCL splash screen at boot but the overall UI is pretty much the same. Since I now have root I went ahead and used app quarantine to freeze the bloatware apps I didn't want. Kinda wishing I had installed minimal gapps, but I figure I'll be reflashing again soon since the floodgates are probably about to open with new ROMS anyway.
Conclusion: If you're curious, flash it, it doesn't hurt anything. It may be a hair smoother, and I haven't really tested the camera extensively enough before or after to be able to tell a difference.
Edit: Literally as soon as I submitted this message (from my PC) I went to turn wi-fi off and the phone decided to reboot. Really odd.

Seems @nheolinkin solved this problem with a fair solution that I haven't tried (yet). Please go to his thread, I abandoned this experiment, but I thought I need to edit this post for a better solution and keep forum cleaner. Please visit:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-5/general/share-discussion-users-problems-unlock-t3629739
Old experiment:
Hello folks!
I think i made it to unlock bootloader without any freezes.
This unlocker provides 6 different method to try.
If none of these work, there's nothing I can do more, sorry (for now...).
There's a latest beta script. I don't know it will freeze or not, go and test it.
First of all I am not responsible if it bricks your device and becomes unusable, so try if you want.
===AUTOMATED QUICK SCRIPT===
I made an automated flasher. Here's a quick explaination:
1 for my freeze patch.
2 for relock bootloader.
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B6AxuGkWld1yYU5zNGR0SzQ2OXc
It will give you a better result but not the real fix.

===MY CONFIGURATION'S SCRIPT===
Quick explaination:
1 for unlock bootloader

This is the LATEST testing version.
Probably it won't work. Use Automated Quick.

Important Notes:
Thanks all the XDA Zenfone 5 Community and the friends that I've been talking about.
Disable dt2w for the reboots and I recommend using the latest Resurrection Remix by @tank0412, CM is a bit old; so that might do reboots.
Fastboot Archive (WIP): https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B6AxuGkWld1yYVdFZTFLckhaUDQ&usp=drive_web
Ifwi Archive: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B6AxuGkWld1yWHV5Rm0yZUd4Q1U
When trying a new fastboot; for the best results you should wipe cache and dalvik cache.
If anyone bricked the phone when doing this, check the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-5/help/zenfone-5-a500cg-zenfone-6-a600cg-t3354645 (Credits to @swiczak )
@kanodiatushar tested and it worked. Thanks.
I searched about camera bugs and when i disable one core of my cpu, camera is not launching (I normally have camera on unlocked bootloader). So, about camera: Some cpu based bug on some devices makes camera bug on custom roms. Make sure you have four of four cores active and available.
Please give a credit to http://ozankaraali.com when sharing if it worked as i did to other users.
As I said, this is experimental and may or may not be working, even maybe it can brick your device and I need feedbacks negative or positive.

i am still experiencing freeze sometimes but not that frequent, as i said i used 12 hours no-freeze then freezed. i am taking logcat now for the next time if it happens. until i make this i was getting freeze nearly every 30 minute-like and as i said, i need feedbacks for this experiment. i think this is not the end of all the freezes but still noticeable difference for me and i need to hear from the others
by the way using dgadelha's cm13, 18 apr kernel and 15 apr system.
Will try.i use cm13 by dgadelha too

ok i followed the procedure in OP and after the freezes i decided to relock the bootloader
i used the tool provided in the RR-LP thread to relock the bootloader
but then i unlocked it again by the flashing dnx then if.bin provided in the OP
and haven't faced any freezes since then
---------- Post added at 11:37 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:33 AM ----------
@ozank is it because of the if.bin i placed in /system/etc/firmware/ ?
or does it have something to do with the your fastboot?

I thank you for your efforts about trying at least and giving me a feedback
I am happy that seeing you having not much freezes at all until now
And i don't know what's making the freeze and what is not making the freeze, i was just trying to get a solution, i researched that from the other users' ideas.
I think the if.bin placement is the key, without it, it freezed a lot more according to my experiment.
But as i said this solution wasn't the end of the all freezes so i am still searching the problem but it makes a little bit difference at least and wanted to share for relaxing our devices a bit.
Files were from the 1.18ish version (JB) and i will try earlier files like 1st asus rom and if it makes difference i will share.
i tried reverting back to 1.17.40.16WW and use the official unlocker and after unlock i immediately flashed the RR-MM rom and it freezed....
I will test it for a day... but can you suggest me if it will work on the RR-MM rom?
i mean i flash the rom
place the if.bin
set permission
and then unlock again using the files you provided?

I did like so on cm13 rom. I didn't revert, only changed fastboot images and i am having 12 hour no freeze duration and wanted to share the way, no need to officially unlock, it makes no difference except warranty. I will try to use ifwi, dnx and fastboots of other versions for no freeze at all and i think it varies for the different product bands (like august vs june factory phones).
So, when you trying this way make sure fastboot and ifwi, dnx files of same date and copy if to firmware.
There is just one if.bin for unlocking so this makes the problem and it cannot be compiled by anyone except asus, so we are trying to find the most compatible fastboot and dnx-ifwi bins to our phone. I think that's the key and kernel might search for if.bin on firmware folder if i understand correctly, if it couldnt find it freezes. (If the case is not placebo at all)
Well done... your solution make mine less freeze than before... thank you.

try to flash if.bin again, if it doesn't work revert to v1.
edit: it's a testing build and as i said it may not work and even brick the device, so be careful.
that gave me a a1 bootloader and when i controlled that said signed bootloader, maybe this was a bug and first post edited with your feedback, i will try this build for a night and will report if it freezes.
i have noticed that my zen5 got freeze only when charger is conected, and i play some game (eg Contest of Chamions, Marvel)... after some like 40-50 mins, device is overheating, and freeze.
in other cases i dont have freezes

yes i was talking about "not the end of the freezes" on normal usage it works okay with this tutorial, but on charging and using heavy apps occurs freezes.
actually on another thread @pedromd did some ifwi.bins that i haven't tried yet. if anyone wants to try that, can check out his files.
that night, i will look at my v2-like solution and logcat it.
(it may not be working for the other users according to reports but i am now o my v2)

You're welcome.
With 20 Kernel 19 System of dgadelha's CM, i didn't get any reboots on night charge and logcat terminal was there on morning. Only a bit network issue i found on latest release but not that much, if anyone encountering freezes, should try the latest build. I am going to test for daily freezes now. But it should be fixed with these files i suppose.
Thanks for the feedback and have a good day!

FOTA (incremental update from 2004.60) ;

Stock boot img ;

Root boot img ;
root2004.9
Place rom in root of storage and reboot. Once detected click to update. Reboot again to finish.
For those with root already and wishing to keep root, simply put the rom in root of storage, reboot and click to update when prompted. BUT, DON'T reboot yet when it finishes updating. Click 'later', go to magisk manager and choose 'install magisk'. When given the options for installing, select 'after OTA' (or words like that). Once magisk is installed again, select reboot. Root will be maintained. Saving the hassle of flashing the root img via fastboot.
-----------------------------------------
For those of you who are not yet rooted but would like to be using the boot img above, see below for guidance. NOTE: if something goes wrong, I am not responsible in any way!! Also, by unlocking bootloader (which is required for root), you will void your warranty.
Also note: you must update to latest 2004.9 rom from above links before starting this process. Should you wish to do this process another time with another update, you MUST ALWAYS match the root boot img for the same rom version you are using.
1. First you need to unlock the bootloader. Download and install the apk from link, then follow instructions. NOTE: doing this wipe the device. Do not power off the device or stop the process once started. I think the device will reboot a couple of times during the process, but ican't remember sorry... Just leave it to do its thing and once finished, proceed to step 2.
Get the bootloader unlock tool, which says in the description that it's compatible with android 10, from here. You'll find it under tools/utilities.
2. Download and install Minimal ADB and Fastboot app (windows). Install it on your PC/laptop to C drive
3. Download the root2004.9 boot img from above and move/save it to (C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot folder)
4. Switch the phone into fastboot mode (from device being in off/powered down, hold volume up then press and hold power button). Fastboot is the first screen you see with a scrollable menu giving some other options, don't select any options... just stay in that mode. Connect the phone to pc/laptop using the SIDE port of the phone. Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot folder and double click the cmd-here.exe, this will open a cmd window.
5. (optional, but recommended) Once your phone is connected in fastboot mode and you have your cmd window open, type 'fastboot devices' in the cmd window. If your device is recognised then a key/serial will be displayed. Providing this is shown, proceed to step 6.
6. Next you are going to flash the root boot img (which, if you followed the instructions, should be in the Minimal ADB folder). In the cmd window type 'fastboot flash boot magisk_patched2004.9.img'. Once completed without errors, your device will now have a rooted boot img flashed. Yey!!
7. Now you can go ahead and unplug your device and boot it up. I did this months ago when I first got the phone, so you'll have to forgive me.... I can't remember if magisk manager is installed during the above process or if you have to install it manually after. If, when you have booted to system, there is no 'magisk manager' in your app drawer, you'll need to install yourself from here scroll about half way down the page and you'll see the downloads section. Go for the latest stable (currently 7.5.1).
8. Download a root checker app from playstore to verify you have root and you're done. If you need to resort back to original boot img, download it from above and follow the same process, but instead type 'fastboot flash boot boot2004.9.img'.

And for those that want root who are not already rooted I'll add some instructions in a while or tomorrow about how to use the boot img's (on my phone right now, it's easier if I do it on pc). So yeah, if it's OK with you I'll just leave the content here rather than starting another thread with the same title

Hmm, you should be able to update from latest A9 (1910.64) to A10. I'm guessing that the updater app only downloads the small incremental updates. These will fail unless you update 1 by 1, going up one version each time.
If you wanna jump straight to latest update (currently this one) download the FULL rom zip from post 2 of this thread. Put that in root of storage and reboot. Should hopefully not fail now and you'll be on latest.

I've also suffered from battery and performance issues in A10. A9 was just fabulous, A10 was a step back.

Flash both A and B slots with known good builds of the A10 system like 11.0.7 or 11.0.9.
Download the .zip file from the Xiaomi servers, copy to SD card.
Go to Recovery and flash update from SD card, reboot.
Wait 10-15 minutes after boot to complete the process.
Shut down, go back into recovery and flash again.
Reboot, update to August via OTA.
This worked for me, at least, the device is snappy and nice, also no data was lost.
But already updating to August may not allow you to flash older versions, and August update is not an .zip yet, so you might have to wait until september until you can try this method.

Also from what I read from the android documentation, the new update system just applies a patch, doesn't fully rewrite, so 2 consecutive updates on the same slot just mean you're getting the new patched files from Xiaomi, not a full overwrite. That's exactly what I wrote here in more detail.

Yes, but only if the original is unmodified. That's why people run into "can't update" states.
There is no difference between a patch update and complete update. The end result has the same hash.

But Teo is saying that for him the update is snappier and better I don't know is it because he just flash the new ROM due to which there are less apps installed and you haven't used the mobile for a while while others have used for a longer time due to which they are facing the RAM management issues or is it because of the way he flash the ROM.

August update may be better. I'd love it to be so but with only 16 hours runtime, I feel it's too early to celebrate.
How you get it installed does not matter because patch and full write gives you the same data in the end.
A clean install (wipe data) obviously makes a difference.
Some people have tolerated Android 10 better than others. I reboot weekly and I'm fine. Some people can't last a day.
