Can I use my T-Mo TP2 on Verizon?

Is there anything I can do to make my T-Mobile Touch Pro2 usable on Verizon's network?

No, the T-Mobile Touch Pro2 is exclusively GSM, and Verizon's network utilizes CDMA technology. You would need to buy a Verizon Touch Pro2 from Verizon to use Verizon's network.

You CANNOT use a GSM phone on a CDMA network and vice versa.

I just upgraded to HTC Evo and moved to Sprint couple of days ago. I am trying to sell my Touch Pro2 to my friend who has a T-Mobile.
My TP2 is currently running the EneryROM, so I am wondering what I could do to get this phone run on T-Mobile.
We inserted his SIM-Card but unfortunately the phone asked for a code because the network is blocked.
I think I can download the T-Mobile's official ROM for TP2, would that work by itself?
Any suggestions?

nope... wont work.. you cant just install a rom on the phone and have it work on another network... The phones themselves have to be compatible.. like was said up there.. gsm phones run on gsm networks.. cdma on cdma... now that said.. arent the touch pro 2's with verizon and sprint world phones so will run on both gsm and cdma?? Although I'm fairly certain even if it is possible to get it to work on the network you want you definatly wont get 3G....
You're better off just selling your phone to someone ON your network... craigslist or ebay can be your best friend... and he's better off buying one made for his network.

First of all, don't try to flash the T-Mobile ROM onto your Sprint Rhodium, since that's a great way to brick your device (the ROM is for a GSM device, flashing that to a CDMA/GSM device will brick it). Sprint allows the use of SIM cards for any carriers except US ones, so what you need to do is Security Unlock your Sprint TP2, then flash this special modified radio that will allow for the use of SIM cards from US carriers. Only then can you use your Sprint TP2 on T-Mobile US.
EDIT: Disregard this entire post, I misread it and this probably doesn't apply to the actual situation. My bad...

AFAIK, the TP2s on Verizon are World Phones, but I really doubt that you could go and use a Verizon TP2 on a GSM carrier like AT&T or T-Mo. I would assume Verizon would lock the feature to do that, and that the GSM antenna is more then likely an underpowered or unable to really take advantage of GSM networks (3G/HSDPA, Edge, etc). I think they are only set on on Verizons end to do basic voice and basic features.

Apparently no one is READING your post. You want to take an AT&T Tilt2 and run it on T-Mobile. It will work with the following restrictions:
1. Your phone is network locked to AT&T. You have to either call AT&T and get an unlock code, or buy a code off ebay or one of the forums here. That way the phone will work on a different carrier network.
2. Having unlocked your phone, with a T-Mobile SIM card it will work - but only on the slower Edge speed, NOT 3G. AT&T uses a different 3G technology than T-Mobile.
I would suggest selling it as an AT&T locked phone on ebay.

I apologize for the confusion.. I re-read my post and I didn't mention that my Touch Pro 2 is an AT&T phone. (I was an AT&T customer and moved to Sprint). Sorry about that guys..
But thank you everyone especially stevedabi for reading between the lines.. LOL.. He won't buy it but my other co-worker is very interested. Need to sell this thing so I can offset my termination fee from AT&T. haha.

Why not just transfer the entire contract to him WITH the phone.. Then you don't have to pay a cancellation fee... Can they do that here? I know of a few people that did it up in Canada but have never heard of anyone in the states doing it. I'm sure it's got to be possible down here.

Sell it to me....
Verizon is cdma...tmobile is gsm they aren't interchangeable. PM me if you are interested in selling.

Buy a new Note 2 or unlock my current one?

I'm currently on att with a note 2 and i've switched to t-mobile and will be recieving a new phone in the mail soon. Should i return it and just flash a t-mobile rom onto my current phone? or should i just sell my att one on craigslist and keep the new t-mobile phone? Any possible loss of features or functionality by sticking with the phone i have?

Keep the tmo one.
It dosent have lte yet, so hang on to att one too I suggest but tmo has added aws band.

I don't understand your answer to the OP.
I'm in the exact same situation as the OP. I'm with AT&T but they just took my unlimited data plan away so I'm probably going to switch to T-Mobile.
Are there any bands that the T-Mobile Note 2 has that can't be unlocked on the AT&T model? According to Wikipedia both AT&T and T-Mobile version of the Note 2 have AWS. I heard that you can enable the high speed bands on AT&T's model to work with T-Mobile. Is taht not true?

Tmo hasnt released the update to let tmo gnotes2 work on their lte network, because its not up and running most places... Possibly only update customers who are in Kansas City.
Not too clear if att gnotes2 with att specific firmware would work on tmo's network. Theoretically it should work, but their might be some radio issues that give u shoddy service. Unlocking phones is illegal now, so idk if u could sim unlock ur phone through att to work for tmo anyways. Might have to go through ebay or something to do so.

Can I take my rooted Tmobile Note 3 to Verizon?

I moved to Charlottesville, VA recently and the Tmobile coverage is really awful. Is it possible to take my rooted Tmobile Note 3 and use it on the Verizon network? I know it works on AT&T as I put my buddy's SIM card in and was able to connect to the network, but Verizon has the best coverage out here.
If I have to flash a new ROM or change the radio that's fine, I just need to know how to do it and if it's even possible.

It is impssible to use a T-Mobile phone on a Verizon network. T-Mobile and AT&T run on the GSM type of network and Verizon and I believe Sprint run on CDMA which aren't capatible. It doesn't matter if you are rooted or not.

I've seen several instances of Verizon customers using their Note 3 on Tmobile. Just thought it might go the other way.

Verizon LTE devices come SIM unlocked for legal reasons (Verizon made a deal with the FCC not to SIM lock their devices in exchange for being able to use LTE Band 13 700 MHz).
Some of their older/"first-gen" LTE devices don't support GSM at all (e.g. Galaxy Nexus). But all nowadays do. The Galaxy S4 and newer support T-Mobile's LTE band. LTE is a GSM-based technology, and people travel as well. So pretty much all of their phones are GSM-enabled nowadays. Same for Sprint (except their phones will reject any US carrier SIMs specifically).
Anyways, the answer is no. AT&T and T-Mobile devices don't have CDMA enabled. And even if they did, Verizon and Sprint don't allow competitors' phones onto their networks.

Will Sprint Tab S4 work on T-Mobile Data Plan

I am on TMO but I got a great deal on a Sprint S4. Given the proposed merger between Sprint and TMO I was wondering if the Sprint version will work on a TMO data plan. If not, will Sprint unlock a non blacklisted IMEI to allow its use on TMO?

I believe Sprint is CDMA and TMobile is GSM so I don't believe you can use it on TMobile today. You'll have to call TMobile to confirm. If they do merge most likely they'll quickly have SIMs to support the tablet. So I'd hold onto the tablet.

Doing some additional research, LTE is based upon GSM, not CDMA. The Sprint version has a sim card slot. If I can get it unlocked it should work fine on any other LTE carrier using the same frequencies. There's a store in town that charges a fee to unlock devices. I'll stop by and see if they can unlock my S4. It is also interesting that the Sprint version does not have the word "Sprint" printed on the back. I wonder if the Sprint version is the same as the international version locked to Sprint.

A505U verizon with stock sprint firmware

Does anybody know if I can use Odin to put stock Sprint A505U firmware into my Verizon A505U? There's no OEM unlock option on the A505U (US version) phone so the bootloader is locked. I prefer not to root so I can use google-pay without any masking shenanigans.
The sprint firmware has a different set of enabled FDD-LTE bands that makes it more useful. Thanks.

I've just learned that some carrier unlocked galaxies s8, s9, s10, etc. running pie will auto rebrand and adjust available bands to adapt to whatever Sim is installed. Does the A505U do this? This would be far easier than flashing if it works for the A505U.

The Samsung BYOD rebranding feature for U models based on sim insertion is always released about 10 months after the phone's initial release.
This has been the case for S8, Note 8, S9, and Note 9. It is not even released yet for S10.
So it will probably be getting close to mid-2020 before it is released for A505U, if even then.

Since only the CDMA carriers Xfinity, Sprint, and Verizon have the A505U, I'll try to find somebody with an ATT or TMO sim to see how my supposedly unlocked Verizon A505U reacts. I haven't seen any reports of what happens posted yet as it relates to the A505U.

I have a Galaxy A505U through Sprint. As you've said it is bootloader locked by the carrier. The 7 day trick does not work to show/enable Oem Unlock. I forget the reason now but I have reflashed stock firmware in Odin before which would modify system partion despite a locked bootloader. So I believe that you could in theory flash the sprint firmware in odion but I don't know how this will affect coverage. I do know sprint has roaming agreement in place with vzw so it should work.... But you're coverage may be degraded as I believe it's not going to support all of vzw lte bands... On a slightly separate note I am curious if there's some way to get around the lock using Odin. I am rusty on my Samsung modding(not eisnce sgs4) and terminology but I'm wondering if we could flash just the bootloader itself from another variant.

this is not accurate.. the devices contain multi csc in the omc partition so once the device is sim unlocked all the firmwares for usa variants have the csc for all the carriers.. you can use an app like phoneinfo and see the available csc's.. it has been this way as you stated since the S8 and up...
now if you are talking about U1 devices then thats a different story.. U1 devices typically have the same csc's but are just unbranded meaning little to no carrier bloat for example.
this is typically why all the firmwares are interchangeable because they are all containing the same csc. The only difference sometimes will be the userdata which might b labeled specific to a carrier but ultimately this doesnt matter either as they typically would contain only a few extra carrier bloat apps that shouldnt impact overall function at all..
heck, if you know what ur doing you can even change the csc code without even flashing any other firmware or putting another sim in.. i typically for example use sprint sales code with vzw network code bcuz i have verizon but sprint has more dialer codes..
as an example my g975u was purchased from verizon but i currently set the csc to GCF for research purposes and all my vzw services work great and to start I used a U firmware that had userdata labeled for SPR lol I also removed the last bit in the carrier code for research purposes.. when i toss a tmo sim in it automatically loads the apns and carrier mode for tmo and it just works without even rebooting

you are correct.. the usa variants are multi csc so they should work anywhere.. international devices also contain multi csc for w.e region it is purchased in. once sim unlocked if u say try to take ur phone to china or something ur device wont contain that csc but you should be able to get it to work with apn edits for example and might not have all the bells and whistles since couldnt flash their specific csc if that makes sense..
These phones nowadays are all world capable for the most part and contain the hardware to work on the differet networks (cdma gsm etc)

i have a tmo purchased a10e and my vzw sim works great in it.. in fact, vzw works better in the tmo phone than tmo haha but thats bcuz tmo isnt as good service wise in my area

Your comment sparked my interest.. as I'm a new owner of the Xfinity variant of the Galaxy A50.
Although I have no plans to leave Xfinity for the remainder of 2019.. as I'm waiting for my $250.00 Promo Rebate which comes around the 4th Month of service to cover just under 65% of my investment in the A50... leaving me with a $135.00 balance.. But, if what you state is indeed the case.. and these devices have the guts to run on traditional GSM Carrier's.. this add much more intrigue into the equation..:angel:

That is correct but as someone who works in the industry and works with 3 out of 4 nationwide carriers I can say Att typically has there iphones manufacturered without a cdma attena making it gsm only.
I just checked my sprint A505U and it does have csc codes for many carriers including att, spt, vzw and t-mob among others. So generally another firmware should work fine then?

I had purchased a used SM a505u from dubai market. 1 YEAR IT WORKS FINE and after that I understand phone is not getting updates and there was issue with fingerprint sensor. And I decided to flah march2020 update from samfrew . But after that I am not getting network .it says networ error. Sim card crash.contact carrier etc...
